About this house rental
A large, private, three bedroom, two bath, house with magnificent views of the Pacific Ocean. Each bedroom is luxuriously appointed. The living room and dining area have a truly incredible six window view of the Pacific with white water waves crashing over exposed rocks. The house has a fireplace and two wood stoves, a well equipped kitchen and a large deck for enjoying the sunset. In addition to the three bedrooms is a cozy loft and quiet areas to read and relax.
You'll be a five minute walk to lovely Agate Beach, part of the Duxbury Reef Preserve. There you will find access to the Pacific Ocean, a quiet beach area and tide pools perfect for nature explorers of all ages. Nearby is also Bolinas Beach, a great place to play in the sand or take a surfing lesson from the Bolinas Surf School. A short drive by car is Stinson Beach and Point Reyes.
Close at hand are some incredible walks along the coast, including some trails into the southern end of Point Reyes National Seashore. During your stay you can also explore historic Bolinas. Founded in the 1850's, Bolinas has long served as a weekend getaway for San Franciscans, though in earlier times they would arrive by boat. Bolinas remains a great retreat and maintains a local culture shaped by the 1960's counter-culture movement.

The Bolinas house was just perfect- beautiful vistas, plenty of unique spots to be alone and to be together, and very responsive hosts. The house was comfortable and well appointed with a perfect location for hikes, beach and access to the north bay.

We could not have stayed at a better beach house. Every amenity is right there for you. I will always remember the breathtaking views from every corner of the home. I can’t believe all the different types of birds we saw. We can’t wait to come back again.

The sea views from the house are fabulous, and we loved our walks in the neighborhood. We enjoyed the quail, the bunnies, the deer, the hawks, the ravens, and we even saw a whale. The home has a well-lived and well-loved feeling to it--the kitchen was wonderfully well-equipped; we loved the big table, and enjoyed the decks over our 3-night stay. Only recommendation would be to update the decor (e.g.kitchen floor) to match the updated appliances. Loved our stay! Thank you.

The view is absolutely amazing! I sat at the dining room table looking out for hours. Never spotted a whale, but I kept trying. :)
The house is very comfortable and well equipped for family dinners. Which is good since restaurants are a bit far and I would not want to drive most of the roads in the dark as they are very windy.
We had a fabulous time in the area and would happily do it again.

We stayed for four days and felt completely nourished by our time in this house, at the beach and in town. The home rests on a hill with stunning views of the ocean and apart from neighbors for solitude. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could need. We are so grateful for our time at the Bolinas house.

This house had it all-views, seclusion, lots of porches, games, and wildlife. It’s got a cool 70’s vibe and Bolinas is funky and remote. So glad we stayed at this place! Thank you for two days of family bliss.

House is situated in an incredible location. Main town center not far and one can walk there along the beach depending on the tide. Hikes heading from Agate Beach, just a short stroll from the house, are spectacular. Plenty of space in house to read, eat, gather, play ping ping on rainy days. Perfect for a family gathering!

We loved our choice of this amazing property for our annual sisters reunion. There were 4 of us and we had plenty of space to relax, cook, play games, dance, and generally have fun! The deck table provided a serene atmosphere with sounds of birds and waves crashing - perfect for our daytime meals, games and visiting. The big dining table and couch seating in the View Room was cozy for our indoor gatherings - with a wonderful view! Our host was quick to respond to our single inquiry, and we felt right at home with the well-stocked kitchen and clean appliances. We felt very safe and enjoyed our walks around the neighborhood and to Agate Beach. All-in-all a great experience and we hope to return!

This was such an amazing place! The views are absolutely breathtaking, and everything was so relaxing. We were able to watch willd quail from the back deck. The skies were so dark, we were able to see shooting stars. It was so quiet here! None of us were ready to leave.

My wife, Friends and I had a fantastic stay in Bolinas. The view from the "View Room" was spectacular. Communication with the property manager was excellent and timely before and during the stay. The house it a bit dated but the beds were comfortable and the house was absolutely perfect for our vacation.
We used this VRBO as a "home base" for day trips to San Francisco, Muir Woods, Overlook & Beach, Napa Valley, and Sonoma during the week. Heather was honest with us that there are no "easy ways" to the property with windy roads through and around the foothills. We knew the circumstances and we would do it again in a heartbeat! For two of the days we just stayed at the house and enjoyed the peace & quiet along with the view! We loved the property and everything the location had to offer. We live on the east coast but if we have another opportunity to vacation out west, we'd love to revisit the Bolinas House!

We stayed at 5 different vacation rentals scattered throughout northern/central and southern Cali during our almost 2 week road trip. Maybe it is because Bolinas was our northernmost stay and Northern California is just raw beauty filled with wildlife, or maybe it was because our stay here was so homey and private and gorgeous scenery that we think it was the nicest stay we stayed at while in California. We would definitely come back again!

We adored our time at this property. You cannot find anything at this location at an affordable price. The views from the home are amazing from anywhere on the front side of the house. The three private bedrooms, plus the loft, allowed my family to spread out after being cramped in hotel rooms.
It is about 45 minutes of winding roads from Mill
Valley. The views are gorgeous but you definitely need a driver who doesn’t mind driving up and down a hillside. But this is pretty typical of anywhere you’d stay on the coast in this area.
Our favorite room was the family room with a large TV…after a long day of adventuring outside you can catch up on whatever show you are too busy to watch in everyday life…with the views of the ocean readily available!

This stay for our small family gathering was perfect. It was quiet and secluded which led to our very meaningful and quality time spent together. The upper rooms were perfectly situated for a couple of family members to participate in all our activities without having to climb stairs. Communication with Bolinas Staff was 100% above and beyond what I've ever had at any stay (and I am a frequent traveler). They were kind and extremely helpful. Everything having to do with the house is in the site description and/or explained in detail in the house notebook. We enjoyed being able to stay in and make our own meals too! Had a wonderful time and certainly recommend staying at the Bolinas house! It is well worth it. Oh and did I mention the view is to die for?? :)

A little remote, but nice for spending time with family at the house. March weather, but we actually enjoyed being on the coast on a bluff in the wind and rain. House was solid and warm, well set up to endure "gale" force winds, and not muddy after the rain. Lots of wildlife to enjoy in the yard and close by.

Lovely house with gorgeous views! We saw quail, a bunny and even a great horned owl at dusk! Quite a treat! Drove the Panoramic Highway to Muir Woods which was fun! The house was well-appointed with newer appliances in the kitchen and a new television that pops right out of the cabinet! Thanks!

This house did not disappoint. It was situated with beautiful views! The bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean! The kitchen has new appliances and were also very clean and easy to use! We stayed here and were pleasantly surprised! We loved walking Agate Beach at low tide looking through the tide pools.
We had one issue and were able to get an immediate response from the home owner, who took care of the problem with such grace! The home owners were kind and caring and more than willing to help with anything! I'd definitely stay here again! Highly recommend!

We loved the little downtown of Bolinas and its beach, beautiful walks start nearby. Slept really well as neighborhood is really quiet - sleeping rooms could use some darkening :). Loved the spacy kitchen and the dining/living room with its view. Neighborhood houses look a bit worn out, but nature around excuses all.
Contact with Heather, the host, was very friendly (5*!!!). Water shortage in Bolinas (125 gallons per house and day did not limit quality of our stay at all - on the contrary: it‘s good to make yorself aware of water being a scarce resource!

The house was in a beautiful location, and close to nice walks. It had a lot of nice features including an ocean view, nice kitchen and comfy beds. I would recommend staying here with a group of friends or family.

It is a descent long winding drive to Frisco!
It is always great to get a phone call upon arrival. There is also a landline in the house what is great for foreigners suffering from the poor cell phone operators!

The location is great for long or short walks by the beach or in the woods. Easy access to the town (Coast Cafe is great) and a nearby local farm stand for very fresh organic produce (the farm is out back). The Bolinas Market has freshly caught fish a couple days each week and will set it aside if you can't get there right away (it sells fast). We loved the town, the people, and this house is ideal if you are 2, 4, or more.
