About this cabin rental
Located on a 14 acre property, you will find tranquility, beauty, romance and nature on this rural yet convenient site. This cabin is one of three lovely and fully furnished cabins, and this property is intended to inspire romantic interludes, spiritual renewal, inner tranquility, awe of nature, and fond memories that will last a lifetime. Our guests have loved our property and some have indicated that one of the things they found special are the many fireflies they watched from the front porch at night. Its magical! And the stars are also incredible on clear nights! Everyone has appreciated the cleanliness and quality of our cabins, and we are grateful and happy that our customers are having a great time here.
After driving up the private gravel drive (not steep and well maintained) that runs through the middle of the property, you will come to a lovely log cabin constructed of solid pine logs. After climbing up the stairs, you will enter an elevated front porch that is mostly covered, but also contains an open air portion where you can sit in the hot tub as you enjoy a cocktail or look up at the stars. A double swing bench is also available for your use on the front porch. Your main view will be across the pasture to a knoll of trees and, beyond that, the mountains, but you can also see the spring fed pond located below as well as the Christmas trees that surround the cabin.
Upon entering the cabin, you will be enchanted with the warm glow of the pine logs that form the cabin's walls and that connect the matching wood floors and wood ceilings. The cabin contains electric air and heat, paired with a lovely gas powered fireplace whose primary purpose is ambiance, but that can also help heat the cabin on a snowy night ( also a particularly beautiful time to visit!). You can snuggle with someone special on the couch as you watch the new flat screen TV mounted above the fireplace. TV programming and WiFi is from the Dish Network, and a DVD player is also provided for your enjoyment.
On the other side of the main room is a fully equipped kitchen with all new appliances, a dining area with a round dining table in front of a large window to enjoy the views, and a full bath with tub and shower. Besides the normally supplied refrigerator and stove, a dishwasher, clothes washer and clothes dryer are installed for your convenience if you need them. The cabin is fully furnished with dishes and utensils, towels, and bedding, and 2 bath robes will be waiting for you to use with the hot tub, which is very easy to operate and provides good water flow and powerful jets.
The bedroom is furnished with a very comfortable queen-size bed as well as areas for storing and hanging your clothing. You can also enjoy a lovely view of the property while in bed looking out through the bedroom's main window. A CD player can be found in the bedroom.
When you are not enjoying the amenities of your cabin, there are lots of things to see and do on the property, including viewing the birds, deer, turkey and rabbits that are regularly seen on the property, with occasional bear, duck and bobcat seen as well. The best times to view wildlife are usually the early morning and dusk. You are free to pick wildflowers growing in the pasture or blackberries that are found along the road and near the creek during the summer.
Feel free to take a walk around the pond or along the creek fronting the property. Country living doesn't get any better than this!
It is our goal to provide you with a fun and enjoyable vacation that will not only give you lots of great memories, but will inspire you to want to come back again. We pledge that we will do our best to make that happen! If you have any questions about this property, our other rental properties, or local activities, please feel free to contact us. We also supply our guests with an list of recommended activities and contacts while staying at the cabin, including directions as well as special little things to do or see while going or coming from your destination.

Definitely going at the end of june was a good call because of all of the plants in bloom. There is so many cute critters and bugs around for nature walks. And it honestly felt like a dream at night when fireflies lit up the area.

Last year, I took my partner to the Rhododendron festival, which is sometimes hard to find places to stay for. This place is less than 30 minutes from Bakersville and so close to all the things we wanted to do (gem mining right down the road!)
We enjoyed it so much that we rebooked it again this year. The view is gorgeous, the space is clean and modest, and it is just so cozy. Hot tub, fire place, a kitchen- I couldn't ask for better.
In fact, last year's stay was the first time my partner and I said "I love you" to one another, so this year I proposed in the same spot on the porch. We will definitely be back next year and hope this stays open for booking as it has a special place in our hearts now.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay in this little cabin. It was private and well appointed with washer, dryer, dishwasher, Direct TV, WiFi, tub/shower, hardwood floors, fireplace, and hot tub. The personal touches were really appreciated - all you need to bring with you are your clothes and food! The host was very easy to communicate with and made sure everything was perfect for our stay. We hope to go again in the winter and enjoy the snow.

Overall the cabin we stayed in was very well built. Great location much more roomy than expected which was nice for two people, nice to have the amenities that it did. Hot tub was definitely great after a day in the Mtn to relax and end the day. Also saw some deer on the property that was a nice encounter. Cleanliness was fair I imagine the cabin had been shut up for awhile there was a lot of dust on the walls especially above the bed and a few dead files on the floor but the rest of the cabin was pretty clean. I’m not sure if this is recommended but there was a tip jar on the kitchen table for “cleaning supplies “ the property rental has a cleaning fee so not really sure why that was there. All in all it was a very nice cabin and we enjoyed our time there definitely would go back.

We were very happy with our stay at cabin #2! The cabin was perfect and quaint, the location is perfectly nestled off of Blue Ridge Parkway. Deer greeted us every morning and evening. There are roosters across the road, but they didn’t bother us. The only thing I would recommend is maybe extra blankets. Besides the bedding on the bed, there are no other blankets. We will definitely be back! Maybe a yearly visit!

The cabin was a perfect size for me and my spouse. We stayed in cabin #2. Some reviews mentioned roosters waking them up. We could not hear the roosters in our cabin, only while on the porch. Reviews also mentioned it was cold in the cabin. We found the heater in the living room and the portable oil radiant heater was for the bedroom was plenty. The hot tub was also a bonus. We were not able to get in touch with the property manager for questions regarding cleaning the cabin since our internet didn’t work to pull up the rules. But, it seems it wasn’t necessary as we didn’t get an email stating we didn’t leave the cabin in order.
It was a wonderful stay and we would definitely return!

We had a very enjoyable stay at this cabin. The location is close to Little Switzerland and convenient to some beautiful sites along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Cabin was very clean and comfortable.

A wonderful experience. Our first cabin stay. You couldn’t ask for a more accommodating experience. We spent hours sitting on the porch watching the wildlife. Short scenic drives for pleasure and meals if you choose to dine out.

The cabin was absolutely beautiful and in a peefect location for everything we wanted to do. The hot tub was perfect after going on long hikes. We even got to see a deer in the front yard one night. The property manager was also super nice and helpful and easy to contact which is a major plus.

A nice place to stay, the night sky was great. You need to know there are roosters near by. One day they got loose and were hanging out at the driveway :).

Great quiet and clean peaceful place. Enjoyed the deer in the evening. And relaxing in the hot tub after a day of motorcycle riding

Great location very close to Little Switzerland. We hiked Linville Falls and Crabtree Falls so this was central to both. We made use of the hot tub both nites. Very clean cabin and hot tub. We had no issues with internet or TV channels. Didn’t need AC but it was available. Very comfortable and the land was very pretty.

This was an amazing stay! 100% worth it! Only complaints were trying to get in touch with the right people with questions and the bathroom is very small, but it matches the quaintness of the place. We both adored the space and utilized the amazing hot tub. Would definitely stay again.

Except for the three guard-roosters who screamed all day!😀 we didn’t really mind them, but some eggs would have been a treat-maybe left on the doorstep! Lol
We needed the quiet because of the rather rough start we’ve had to the summer with illness and death in our family.
Ps. The internet is non existent. May have something to do with a broken antenna on the router?

This was the perfect little getaway for my husband and I! The cabin is small, but is very clean, cozy, and open. There is plenty of space for what we needed it for - which was just a place to eat and sleep. There are 2 other cabins close by, but the trees are carefully placed to ensure privacy. The hot tub was very relaxing, and i enjoyed spending the mornings drinking coffee out on the porch swing. The host is very dedicated and even went out of his way to provide very detailed instructions about how to get to the cabin, and even provided a booklet of fun activities in the area! Overall, we had a very pleasant stay at this cabin and I would say it’s perfect for a couple looking for a rural getaway. My only caution is that the driveway is a bit rugged, I think it would best be suited for SUVs/trucks, which is what we drove. But other than that, the place was perfect!

The best communication between owner and renter I have ever had. We loved the cabin location, very clean. Will definitely be back to stay again.

The cabin was a small but spacious house. Very comfy for a small get away with your partner. We went 3 days and even with it pouring rain it was still a amazing trip. The highlight being the hot tub changing colors at night.

Place was very clean and had everything we need.

Was it small? It is a CABIN. Living room would make better use maybe with a small sectional ( versus the large kitchen table) as I'd admit the couch was the only place to sit, or add an ottoman. Maybe a smaller table for two since this cabin only sleeps two. We ended up needing to use a kitchen chair if we wanted to stretch out. It was FRIDGID when we came, however toasty inside. They provide ample space heaters etc. I would have preferred the hot tub to have been covered, but not a deal breaker at all. Note that the hot tub is on the front porch. A mirror in the bedroom would have been a plus. We wanted a quiet time away and that is what we had. Rooster did not bother us at all. Met some friendly dogs on our way off the property too :) Easy checkin and we were even able to check in a bit early which was a plus!

Had a wonderful time at Bluebird Perch! Was mildly disappointed at the size, It looks larger in pictures, and no fire ring outside but it was more than suffficient overall. The weather was lovely also. I will say the roosters next door were pretty nonstop but we just got tickled with their competitive noises!

Ok what the listing doesn’t tell you
1. The couch/pull our sofa needs to be thrown away because its broken and you cant sit on it as a couch or lay on it as a bed. Thera are no other chairs to sit in unless you want to sit at one of the 4 chairs at the dining table which is odd for a cabin that only sleeps 2. With such limited space the table just takes up too much room. A good couch and recliner would make the living room usable.
You cant stream any TV so be prepared to watch only dish network with no subscribed movie channels. Again to not have streaming capabilities is disappointing especially if you have WiFi
If you need or use bowls, bring your own. There are a set of what looks like saucers but not really bowls that are usuable
The hot tub is nice but it doesn’t have a ‘cover assist’ so trying to get the cover on and off is very difficult. Two 4” cinder blocks as steps to get in which is a little precarious
There are 3 cabins on this property of 14 acres however the cabins are very close to one another less than 100’ apart and while they have some pine trees to block off the cabin, it is NOT PRIVATE & with HOT TUB on the front porch, there again no privacy. That was a big issue for us as the neighboring cabin occupants were in and out a lot and it made it difficult to use the hot tub & not feel a bit exposed
Each room has to be heated separately. Main unit for living room, but you need a space heater for each room including bathroom

Great place to get away for rest and peace and quiet. Even though it was brutal cold we enjoyed the hot tub and warm cabin.

The property was very quiet, in excellent condition and made for a relaxing getaway. The one minor issue we had was dealt with much faster than need be by a very nice property manager. We would highly recommend this property.

Everything excellent with the rental. Bed very comfortable. Bathroom great though a bit tight. Kitchen and dining have everything necessary to cook and eat. Hot tub was absolutely the best. The wood work reminded me of home. So very beautiful! The area was so quiet and the wildlife a marvel to see and watch! Apple tree out front had a ton of ripe apples!! 4 stars only for communication with VRBO and property manager because to communicate with them I had to open an account. I already have too many signons and passwords to have another to keep up with. Would rather have a direct email or text number to owner or manager at time of booking. I do appreciate the very informative email a few days before the rental date. The book in the cabin is also appreciated- huge amount of helpful information. We went to roaring fork falls because of the information !! thank you for a great place to stay!! Sandy

Everything about this property is perfect for a get away. Just about everything you will need is provided to make your stay easy. Very quiet but still close enough to things you might need( walmart, food locations etc.) The roads are skinny and curvy, nice views everywhere. If you dont have a 4x4 or awd vehicle it may be difficult or impossible to access during snow or heavy rain. Plenty of deer and turkeys outside every day. Only downside i could find is the view is blocked from the hot tub and front porch swing by some trees (the trees are meant for more privacy im guessing) but its still a nice location. Would stay again in the future.
