Fit 10 people more than comfortably. If you’re expecting to be on a lake, pleas read reviews. It’s nearby and we went fishing but wouldn’t call a lake view. We knew that going in and love the experience.

The cabin was beautiful just lake access was really far away from the cabin actually had to drive a while to get to the lake but everything else was wonderful

Plumbing problems. Mice. HVAC in horrible condition (wrong size filter). Trash by the entrance. Clogged shower drains. Mold in basement (I have pictures if anyone is interested). I could say a lot more about this place but I’m trying to erase it from my memory

Cabin was mostly clean for a lake cabin but we were not advised till arrival that no paper products (including toliet paper) could be used in the septic system. ALso while we were not in the cabin very much, there were no directions on how to use the television, it would turn on but we could not cast or use the Wii player. Directions would of been nice

We had a really enjoyable long weekend with our kids and grandkids - they loved the house and the fire pit. Everything was very clean and organized - we could have used a little better lighting in the kitchen when cooking - but it did not keep us from having a great time. It was a terrific place to come home to after sightseeing all day. We hope to be able to enjoy this cabin again one day soon

The cabin was nice for 6 adults. To say it is a cabin on a lake is a stretch. We were not able to get to the nice cove recommend due to a tree blocking access. The other access was pretty grown up with weeds. The marina was close so we rented a pontoon for a day which was nice. Mammoth cave was close too so we spent time there as well as Bowling Green. Spending time with family in the cabin was great. Tony was easy to reach if we needed anything.

Property was very nice. Roomy and well stocked. Great if you want something very remote - it is really in the middle of nowhere! Disappointed that there really was no lake view and access was very muddy path with no dock or swimming. Had a wonderful experience renting a boat at the Wax Marina - highly recommended! Host was easy to communicate with

I booked this cabin for a Kentucky adventure to Mammoth Cave Park. While the house uses this park in their key words, it is NOT close to the park.
The weather when we went (7/27-7/31) was VERY HOT. Unfortunately the upstairs bedrooms were VERY HOT. I reached out to tony who responded immediately. He told us to look for the vents in the bedrooms (he had no idea where they were) and open them. They were on the ceiling & we opened them, sadly this didn’t fix the problem. In order for the upstairs to be comfortable, the thermostat needed to be set at 65 degrees, which made the main floor ABSOLUTELY FREEZING. Which was NOT enjoyable at all.
Additionally, the lake access is a joke. The maze like directions listed do NOT get you to the lake. There is a down tree that blocks the route with swimming access. The second option takes you through PRIVATE PROPERTY, & while you do get to the lake, it’s for boat access, not swimming. We chatted with the neighbors & they told us many renters of this house get upset because they can’t find the lake & when they do, it’s for boats. The neighbors are frustrated the owners won’t pay the $25 fee for a DIRECT PATH from their house to the lake (this would involve the owners to clear a path, which clearly is too much of an inconvenience). The neighbors said they have offered to help, but the owners won’t do the right thing.
Lastly, you are asked to do a good amount of cleaning before checking out. Yet you pay a descent sum a cleaning service?!?!

Three generations of family, 8 adults, 3 children, 2 dogs. Good times, Made Good Memories. Ate together, played together, spent time at the lake. Nice lake. Few minutes walk from cabin, no beach front but still able to access lake via path to swim and fish.
When you trek to the lake, the bugs are real. Plan accordingly. You're in the woods. Real woods. Ticks are bad all over this year. No exception at lake Nolin. Just be prepared. Not something your host can do for you.
Place was clean. Good places to sleep for our entire crew. Plenty of bathrooms and showers for our needs. We heeded to warnings regarding treating the plumbing kindly and had no issues. If you need civilization it's 15-20 minutes away including a Walmart. Number of touristy things to do in the area as well. What else could you need. Place was as described and worked well for our family vacation. Like I said, we made good memories.

This lake house was a epic fail. More than half of our group would not even stay there because of the overrun of spiders. . When we arrived it looked like we were probably the first guest of the season and no one came to check the cabin before we arrived we literally had to clean the whole place inside and out before we could even enjoy it. My husband stayed on the phone for almost 24 hours between emails and calls and on hold. and the best that you guys could come up with for us, after dealing with this for 24 hours, that you was going to give us two hotel rooms for 10 guests , which would not have worked, of course.and we had already spent $600 in groceries so there will be nowhere to put the groceries some of us sucked it up and stayed. But quite frankly it was a miserable situation you couldn't even go outside for all the bugs and there was no lake entrance at all when my brother-in-law went down to find the lake to fish he got attacked by ticks. we had got a small refund which was ridiculous and more of an insult than anything since more of our guest didn't stay then did. We have used you guys several times to get other cabins in the same area but honestly we will definitely probably think seriously about not using you guys again. Not that it's your fault how the cabin was but I feel that you guys should have moved us to a place that would hold all of our guests or full refund. Very disappointed guest all the way around

Great secluded location and plenty of space for a group to stay for a bit. Our 10 year old loved that there was games, books and the wii. It was super nice having access to a washer and dryer as we definitely used them. Basement layout was perfect for a small family although the bed wasn't comfortable it served it's purpose. Owner was great with communicating! Would definitely stay again!

The location was lovely, the size of the cabin was good, but the directions to the lake were not clear and we ended up following the path that smelled of sewage. Obviously we didn’t know we wouldn’t be able to flush any toilet paper. With 4 kids, we would have made a different choice. Someone had to be on “potty duty” all weekend.
The kitchen chairs were so wobbly that we couldn’t sit on them. One had the seat completely detached. My 3yrold granddaughter fell through.
The place was just not clean. The laundry room, the downstairs bathroom were just dirty.
I cleaned out the frig and wiped down the kitchen before we unloaded the food.
The place has a ton of charm but I won’t be able to recommend it to friends and family members.

This is a great rustic cabin. Check in was easy.. directions were accurate. It is about a 40 minute drive to all the Mammoth Cave activities, but quiet and peaceful. There is no internet. There are 3 full bathrooms; however, you can only flush toilet paper in one of them… not ideal for anyone, but especially if you have kids in your party.. not sure knowing that would have changed our plans, but feel it’s good to know on the front end.
Kitchen is well equipped. Plenty of towels and wash cloths for our group of 7. Tons of games and dvds available for use.

If you’re interested in taking advantage of the hiking at Mammoth Cave National Park this is a great place to stay. Close, easy driving and wonderful scenic rides. The house was clean, safe and spacious. Communication with the owner was good. It made our week comfortable, rejunivating and enjoyable.

Lake Nolan Getaway
This cabin was a short drive to Wax Marina on Lake Nolan in a beautiful wood setting. The cabin was everything we expected for out party of 7. King and queen beds, with a bunk room. Well stocked kitchen, Cozy living room, fire pit with seating and a gas grill. Deer and turkey were posted in the area. Lake was great for fishing. Bring you r kayak or canoe.
Tony was a GREAT host and immediately responded to problems. Also, if you touring the area 45 min to an hour to mamouth cave., Bardstown and Corevette museum.

Great for what it is
Great cabin in the Kentucky woods. Secluded with a fun little lake just a 5 minute walk away. Plenty of space for our two families—four bedrooms that each sleep two plus a king size bed in the large basement room.
Be clear—this is a cabin, not a luxury home. The floor boards creek, you can easily hear people a floor below/above, and there is no WiFi. But it’s a great spot if you’re looking to get away. And we had strong LTE reception the whole time.
A few things could have been better: the towels shed when you use them, the satellite TV didn’t work (which we were grateful for so our kids had to play together instead of watching), and the floor beneath the couches hasn’t been cleaned in awhile (which you learn looking for your kids toys).
I would recommend staying here if you’re looking for a cabin experience!

Peace in the woods
We enjoyed our stay. The kitchen was wonderfully stocked with anything you need for cooking. The beds were very comfortable. If it had been warmer we really would have enjoyed the lake and the fire pit.

The Good and the not so Good
Plenty of room and fairly well stocked but a few things could be improved. For example, there were no bars of soap in the bathrooms. One other "not so good" characteristic (that probably cannot be changed) was that the floors were very squeaky so that getting up during the night to go to the bathroom could be disturbing to others. In spite of this, no one in my family complained about any squeaking.

Great getaway
We stayed here for a long weekend while visiting Mammoth Cave. The cabin was nice and spacious. We easily slept 11 (7 adults and 4 kids). The kitchen was nicely stocked with necessary amenities. The property was quiet and secluded. The only gripes I have (not deal breakers by any means) were that there were several wasps in the upstairs bathroom so beware. The walls were paper thin. We were able to hear each other's conversations through the upstairs bedroom walls (use your whisper voice) and we heard mice in the walls when trying to get to sleep. The key was not where the check in info said it would be, so we had a little adventure trying to find it to enter the cabin. Once we checked in we got multiple messages (5 in a couple of hours) through the VRBO app. They were all automated I assume, but they were unnecessary and a bit redundant so that was a bit annoying. All in all we had a wonderful time and would definitely book this again.

Prepare for the swarms of giant wasps. We killed, in the first night, 8 wasps. My husband is severely allergic to any stinging insect and always brings his epi-pen. We have stayed in MULTIPLE cabins all over the south eastern and mid-western areas of the US. And this cabin by far was the worst when is comes to wasp infestation. In total of our 3 nights stay, we killed over 20 wasps. 20! All within the house might I add. Along with the infestation of wasps, we were also greeted with signs at all three toilets stating you could not flush any paper (including toilet paper) down the toilet. Upon asking Tammy (property manager) the legitimacy of not being able to flush toilet paper after using the bathroom, the response was “you are in the country and we have had issues with the toilets backing up in the past”. This sounds like poor maintenance of their septic system. I have lived in a few rural areas where we had leech beds or septic tanks in our back yards (family of 6) and NEVER had any issues with flushing toilet paper. If the wasps and the inability to flush toilet paper aren’t bad enough, I hope that if you plan to stay here, you do not have anyone in your party that has issues with mold. That’s right. Black mold. Not in one place. Or two places. But in MULTIPLE places. Again, I understand that this is a cabin, but if you are renting this place to perfect strangers, and you don’t either A.) clean and remedy the problem or B.) list you have this issue...I think that it is HORRIBLE hosting. If I have to say anything nice about this place it would be...it’s semi private and has space. That’s it.We will not be coming back to this place and will tell anyone we know that comes across this place not to come here. Not worth the money. Quite frankly, I think we deserve at least a partial refund for the deceiving listing of this property.

Cute Cabin and surrounding property
This is a nice cabin with a very comfortable, relaxing feel. The surrounding forest area is very nice and provides quite a bit of coverage to the cabin. Our original plan was just to hang out here for our 3 day stay but we decided, since they were within driving distance, that we would walk some trails along the Mammoth cave and Nolin lake area. If you're on the fence about renting this place, go for it. We really enjoyed our stay here. Thank you!!

Super relaxing!
Great property for adults to just hang out. The lake is not really walking distance and if you have kids and expect a yard, probably not your place. If you are adults just looking for quite this is perfect. My only note would be you must bring K cups or a regular pot. Theirs is super small and barely works.

Nice cabin in the woods
We stayed here with my sister’s family of 6, my family of 4 & my mother. There was plenty of room for everyone! There were 4 teens who really enjoyed having the basement to themselves. The beds were very comfortable & the cabin was very clean. The path to the lake is a bit rugged and leads to a small clearing on the lake that is great for fishing or kayaking. I’d recommend going down the road to one of the local beaches of your looking for swimming. Overall it was a great place. We rented pontoon for a day at the state park & went to mammoth cave

Cabin stay at nolin
The only complaint we have is that the AC stopped working and it was extremely hot, we drove to walmart and bought 3 fans. Also the pictures make it seem like the cabin is on the water but it is not, nice walk down to the water. Overall the cabin is huge and plenty of space for everyone!

We love the cabin and it was perfect for our family!
The only true issue we encountered was the air conditioning failed and had to be fixed. The owner did ensure it was fixed about halfway through our 4 day stay. I felt this was timely since the technician was busy and had to work us in. The cabin is spacious and has everything you need for a fun week at the lake.
