We had beautiful weather and enjoyed scrambling over the rocks, listening to the waves, reading on the shore and watching the starts. So many reserved lands hikes within easy reach of the property. It was grand!

A wonderful week listening to shore birds singing over lapping waves and watching the Milky Way above us at night!

We had a wonderful time at the Spruce Cottage! Very peaceful and relaxing. Loved the screened in porch and hung out there most of the time. Just a beautiful setting and scenery! We plan to come back!

This is a beautifully quiet place to unplug and relax. The house is perfect size. The back porch offers views of the water and the sound of crashing waves. Although the location is very private, there are plenty of areas for a day trip along with a nearby grocery store and gas station. A fabulous retreat!

Enjoyed our stay. Great little place to unwind. I understand its a cabin but could have used a dusting and there was a bit of garbage around the property. Easy to overlook though, we had a great time.

We really enjoyed our stay at Spruce Cottage! Very private!! Right on Wohoa Bay, Jonesport in the distance and the occasional lobster boat. Car never left the driveway for the first three days; a first for us. Beautiful, inside and out.

Very secluded and private. Rocky shore. You might want to bring your own outdoor chairs for watching the activities (lobster boats, seal) from the shore.

Spruce Cottage is located down a long country road (as listed) that is best suited for larger vehicles. The cottage is wonderfully located right on the rocky beach looking out onto the bay and islands. We saw a bald eagle fly over the beach and enjoyed watching the lobster boats each morning. Bring beach chairs if you wish to sit on the beach - there aren't any at the cottage. There is a charcoal Webber grill for grilling. Very close-by are the Ingersoll Trails that make for amazing woods hiking out to the nearby shoreline and cliffs. The nearest store is about 20 minutes away - both grocery and all purpose hardware store that has many additional items. The Srpuce Cottage has shown some wear and deterioration since the photos were taken. Some of the windows have water damage and there are some holes in the screens on the porch. The general cleanleness was subpar. We felt we needed to clean (atleast sweep) the cottage before unpacking. There was a lot of dust and dog hair around the edges and under the counters. We had our dog so we understand dog hair but it seemed a little bit dirty for new renters. We aren't saying not to rent Spruce Cottage - it has a lot of positives - namely location. Just know what to expect before you get there and bring plenty of bug spray.

We had a great time at the Spruce cottage. Lobster was plentiful and the views were amazing. Would recommend bringing kitchen and bath towels with you.

A peaceful, beautiful escape
A delightful cabin - right on the water, full of character, well-equipped (from jigsaws to hot shower), and wonderfully calm and quiet. Sitting on the screened-in porch with coffee in the morning watching the lobster boats and the sun glistening on the water was superb. Walk 15/20 minutes to get lobster right on the jetty. Lots of delightful hikes in the area. The track to the cabin took a little practice, but take it slowly and all is well. We thoroughly recommend this cabin.

Fantastic Experience
We had a truly fantastic experience at Spruce Cottage. The home had everything we could possibly need, but we spent the majority of our time on the screened in porch, taking in the view. Kitchen was fully stocked and the fridge was bigger than we expected, perfect for two people. Though it is a little more removed, the grocery store is only about 15-20 minutes away. We did one big shopping trip before arrival and picked up things as needed. It's drivable to Mt. Desert Island and Acadia, but be aware that it will be a day trip. If you're looking for a tour and don't want to drive all the way to Bar Harbor, check out Milbridge (only a 30 minute drive away). We did go to Acadia multiple times, so don't let the distance deter you. We had a hard time leaving when our week there was over. This is a hidden gem and we can't wait to return!

Picturesque Maine
Everything went smooth. Quiet, great area to get away! Nature at the door.

Lovely remote setting
This seaside cottage is both beautiful and comfortable for 2 indoors and view is spectacular but heed the owner’s warning: it is a half mile down a very primitive though passable dirt road and the house is surrounded by fairly rugged grounds/territory. Nearest store is over half hour away so go prepared! I also had to press for check-in instructions the day we were to arrive. A bit unsettling as it is so remote. Once we communicated, all was good from then on.

WONDERFUL Getaway!
My husband and I stayed here for a week at the end of September. We absolutely loved this cabin. It was clean, had a perfect location, and had a well stocked kitchen. We spent our days sitting on the porch looking out on the ocean, went on several day trips to Acadia and Machias, and didn't want to leave! I almost didn't want to leave a review because I don't want anyone else to find out about this cabin- we are already planning our next trip back. What a wonderful spot.

Wonderfully peaceful Nature hideaway
We stayed in this cozy cabin for a week and had an amazing time. So quiet, such easy access to nature, whether it is jogging, paddling in the bay, sitting on the beach, or reading in a hammock between the trees. The cabin has all things we wanted and needed, plus so much more. Lots of neat details and nice decorations. We happily recommend it to anyone wanting to relax.

Privacy and Peace
We loved our experience in South Addison. The bed was extremely comfortable, all linens smelled of fresh laundering, the kitchen was well stocked w/all we needed, and the location was a dream! We are Mainers who always enjoy staycations along the coast, and would definitely consider this place again. It was wonderful!

July week on the coast
We had a lovely week at the Spruce cottage. The property is exactly as advertised. We enjoyed sitting out by the water, watching the bald eagles fly by and lobsterman check their pots each day. We had a kayak with us, which was great to explore some of the islands around the area. Spent a few days at Acadia as well. Thanks for a great vacation!
