The Bocce Ball House is very nice and well appointed. It had everything we needed in the kitchen, with nice tables outside on the patio. Josephine asked that we take off our shoes before going into the house, but we all do that at home anyway, so it wasn't a problem. I highly recommend this house for your stay in Seattle. Joanne S.

Plenty of room, short drive to see the sights. Owner was very responsive to questions.

I wanted to give our stay 5 stars overall. We selected this house because of the spaciousness and proximity. The house is spacious for sure. Lots of room to gather and mix with our family of 8 and one toddler. Josephine greeted our group and briefly showed us the place. All seemed ok until she mentioned that the bocce ball "court" is actually a sand pit, and that we should beware of cat feces if we play. Upon inspection it was decided that we couldn't partake of this activity due to that issue. We were also surprised to see another tenant sunning himself in the back yard of this home when we arrived. We knew that Josephine resided downstairs, but this was unexpected. He left soon after and did not return.
The house and grounds were generally well-tended and clean. The neighborhood left something to be desired, with a casino and bowling alley backed up to the house and junkyard nearby. It didn't feel unsafe, however anyone wanting a picturesque location may want to search elsewhere. Being budget-conscious we were willing to overlook that aspect. As for accommodations, there are no frills here. The beds, baths and kitchen are minimally appointed. No dresser for clothes, no towel racks. The washer and dryer are full size but stacked, so I couldn't reach or read how to run a load. Be prepared to buy your own soap, sponges, etc. Josephine is a nice lady so overall we got along ok at this house, just didn't knock our socks off.

It was a great house in a great location. Perfect size for my family of 7. The house was very clean except some of the towers and pillows had a weird smell. We enjoyed our stay except we didn’t like that we had to take out the trash and we had to wash the towels that we used prior to checking out.

this rental was for myself, my partner, our grown daughter, my elderly mother and my brother. As you can probably guess, finding a place to stay for this diverse group that would allow folks to feel connected, have the access everything they needed AND have time/space to "do their own thing" when necessary was a tall order but this beautiful flat fit the bill.
Our host (who stayed in a separate unit in the building) was intelligent, vibrant, full of information and tips, and very welcoming.
We had everything we needed - the rooms were spacious and comfortable and there was a nice gathering space in the downstairs as well as upstairs.
Did i mention that the house is beautiful! The interior is "magazine-like", stylish and well-appointed but also very cozy. The side and back yards are also really nice with places to sit and grill and play bocce ball if you feel like it.
The surrounding neighborhood is very walkable. there is a Safeway a few blocks away, several churches and a gas station.
Best of all, there are two resident, fluffy cats who are on hand to greet you as you arrive (but who are not allowed inside!)
In sum, this rental was far nicer than I anticipated and I would absolutely stay again the next time I have occasion to venture into Seattle.

Exactly as described! Owner was receptive to our needs, location was great for 6 adults, public transportation within walking, grocery store & church close! Enjoyed our week in Seattle!

This was an excellent choice for our group of 6. Josephine shared produce from her garden. The outdoor areas were great for socializing.

This was an excellent base for 3 couples for one week. We were there to cheer on the Blue Jays and to get to know Seattle. The owner was very responsive to our every need. Lovely outdoor area. Nice dining room for meals and playing games. The downstairs bedroom had a very firm mattress. Two out of three bedrooms upstairs had comfy mattresses but the master with ensuite was not very comfortable. Other small notable things … no towel bars just hooks and we ran out of cutlery if we didn’t run the dishwasher after every meal. We we were very happy with all the dishes and pans and so convenient to have some spices. Overall a great experience!

Josephine was great, and communicative before and during our stay at the Bocce Ball house. The house itself was an amazing space for me and my friends to hang out and reunite for a weekend. It's close to grocery stores and many other conveniences! Perfect for a Seattle getaway!

Wonderful space to bring family together. Perfect location to easily go to and fro as family attended wedding at HAF. Out door space allowed for quite down time or activities that were easily enjoyed by all!

Comfortable and spacious
We are a larger crowd and this was a comfortable and spacious place to relax for an extended weekend while visiting family. The table was large and sat 8 comfortably. The kitchen was supplied well for the initial needs. Safeway is two blocks away for convenience. We did not hear any traffic noise from Roxbury. The house was quiet and warm with radiant heating. All-in-all we enjoyed the space. I will note there is one bedroom that needs blackout curtains. I would recommend that change Thanks very much for letting us stay in your home Josephine.

What a great, spacious place!
Our family truly enjoyed staying here. It’s tough to find any place in Seattle with a yard, making the Bocce Ball House a rare find. Great location with plenty of essential shopping within a couple of blocks. And as a bonus, our hosts shared fresh plums and sunflowers from their garden - so thoughtful! We highly recommend staying here!

Incredible Home Away from Home
My husband and several friends came up to West Seattle for a work project. The Bocce Ball house was large and very well appointed. The landscaping is lovely and the home has a great vibe. The property is a garden sanctuary in White Center and the crew enjoyed many enjoyable evenings out on the back patio. The beds and bedding were high quality and comfortable. The kitchen with well stocked, and there were even condiments in the fridge for guests. Andy is truly a premier host. Throughout the booking process and the stay, he was always very responsive and hospitable. When he learned Seattle was going to have very hot temperatures during the stay, he installed a portable AC unit in the main living room to cool the house down. Probably one of our best VRBO experiences, and we have had many good ones!!

This was a fun place to stay while in Seattle! Clean and spacious we loved coming here to relax. We had arrived earlier than we had planned and property manager was very accommodating with that.

Great place to stay!!!
This is a wonderful home and full of modern amenities. We had many family dinners and there was lots of space for our big inter generational family to feel at home. It was myself, my brother, daughter and her fiancé and two grandchildren. The area had some great spots and I highly recommend the Fresh Flours Bakery! Andy is an exceptional host, very caring, helpful and sweet. We were there for Halloween and they gave the kids treat bags!

Had to extend our stay
We had to stay longer than expected due to the job running longer than planned. Andy was great in working with us to block out days while we figure out how long we really needed. Andy and his wife were very accommodating and we couldn’t have been happier with the house and property.

Great Family Home
We enjoyed the layout of the house for our family. Everyone had their own space, but there were plenty of areas inside and outside the house where we could be together.

Very nicely appointed. Very pleasant hosts.
This property is better on site than in the photos. It is very nice, well decorated, beautiful yard, great location. The hosts are very nice and accommodating. The location is excellent. The only TINY recommendation I have is that they add towel bars and rings in the bathrooms - as, there is no place to hang a towel except over the shower rod. There is a hook in the one room with a bathroom, but that is all. Just sayin' - it would be nice!! Still, I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Will stay again
We reserved this place for 4 people to come to Seattle for medical training. The trainees stayed for 2 weeks. The first week they were in another house that they thought was fine, but they really liked this property best. The hosts were warm and accommodating, as well as very communicative with me. I didn't stay at the property, I only facilitated the reservation and asked the trainees to report what kind of review I should leave. They unanimously agreed that they would like to stay here again if necessary. Ample parking and friendly host went a long way toward this 5-star review, but the property is remarkably well kept and had a "good vibe." Well done!!!

Outstanding Property
When we arrived, Andy, the owner, was there to greet us. He took us through the home and explained how to use it. The home is beautiful and accommodated all of our needs. It is close to shopping, grocery stores, gas stations, transportation to center city Seattle, etc. We very much enjoyed our stay there and would recommend it highly to anyone who is looking for a spacious, beautiful place to stay. Thank you, Andy, for being a gracious host.

Great house!
Our whole family stayed at Andy and Josephine's very nice house. There was plenty of sitting room and it was really clean. They have a great bocce ball court there with plenty of outside seating. We had a lot of fun staying there and the family is super nice and accommodating. It's a little far from downtown Seattle but a quick uber worked out great.
