Everything was very clean, modern and comfortable with everything we needed for a 4 night stay. We were impressed that the smallest things had been thought of such as providing dishwasher tablets and a range of different teas etc.
An opening window, rather than a door to the outside, in the bedroom would have preferred but as it was we managed fine with the fan provided.

Excellent location and wonderful first impression.
Mattress on bed was very soft and could feel springs.
Poor quality toilet rolls.
No kitchen cloths.
Tried to re-cycle but couldn’t find a green bin anywhere.

Beautiful location, peaceful, lovely spot surrounded by fields and yet close to amenities. Beautiful kitchen, tea coffee also fresh milk in the fridge along with dishwasher tablets etc. Clean soft towels & toiletries. A lovely place.

The location of the property was lovely.
No bedside lights nor tables. No signage of The Byre at the entrance to the property.

Lovely barn conversion, spacious & comfortable for a couple. Rural location but very near amenities.
Nothing!

The moderness of the accomodation. All the small touches. A great base to explore the surrounding areas.

Well appointed property in great location. All the facilities that might be required were provided. Good wifi, and catch-up TV a bonus.
On lifting the lid, we discovered the toilet had not been cleaned (in what looked like a long time!). I won't go in to explicit detail, but it was disgusting. In hindsight, we should have called the owners, but after a long (5 hour) drive and hectic day when we'd eaten little, we weren't thinking straight and cleaned it ourselves. The rest of the property appeared spotless, so maybe it was an oversight. Or maybe the cleaner 'doesn't do toilets'. Either way, it ruined our impression of the property and spoiled our experience. The bed wasn't very comfortable, either.

The property was very clean and very well equipped. As we had a long journey, to be able to enter via a door code was very convenient. The WiFi was accessed very simply via a Q code. The location was great, all the roads around there give great views over the rolling countryside, yet the town of Consett was less than 2 miles away.

Location was great. House was bright and airy. Need to create a window for the bedroom for air , otherwise need to open door. Need a curtain or blind for arch window for privacy.

peaceful location. loads of parking, good quality fixtures and fittings, good waterfall shower and a bath, beautiful old building. Big flat screen tv.
nothing major but bed was very low if your mobility isn’t too good. The sink tap in the bathroom is a waterfall tap which if you turn on to high clears the sink edge and gets you in the groin so be warned 🤣

Beautiful area and property. Very quiet.
Excellent facilities.
The bed. My husband managed to sleep in it for all 3 nights of our stay but did not sleep well but one night was enough for me and I ended up sleeping on the huge chesterfield sofa. Bed was like a ground level futon. would strongly recommend that was changed for a proper height bed and decent mattress.

Quirky property in a lovely location, a good base for visiting numerous places.
Maybe some curtains at the kitchen end of the living area to provide privacy from the neighbours.

Good quiet location. Easy access to surrounding areas. Lovely, well appointed property. Would definitely book again!

Excellent and up to date quality facilities in the property, TV with Netflix. Coffee, tea and sugar provided. There was tabs supplied for the Dishwasher and washing machine. Been able to exit from the other entrance to the site which had a far better view of traffic than the main entrance. Very quiet location.
Poor lighting for the car park and the archway to the property. Take a torch with you at night to get to and from the car park. Missed having a shelf for shampoo etc. in the shower.

Very peaceful and relaxing 5 night break. The Byre is a beautiful place to stay and is a great base to visit Durham. Very clean accommodation in beautiful surroundings

Spacious, comfortable, well laid out and well equipped. Free Wi-fi connection good. Pleasant view into a well appointed courtyard. Location was very rural and quiet (can hear the sheep bleating!). Close to amenities in Consett.
Our stay was during extremely hot weather and keeping the apartment cool proved quite difficult.

All the facilities were exceptional. Location was good and quiet.
The lack of openable windows as there’re was only 1 small window in the kitchen as it did get quite warm on our return to the property later in the day.

I liked how we were told ahead of time where the keys would be so coordination did not need to be set up to hand over in person. This made the day of check-in a lot less stressful as we were able to pack up the car and head down once we were ready without rushing and knew we could get into the accommodation with no issues or fuss on the other end. Instructions were left for check-out also so we could leave once ready too.
Upon walking in, the place looks exactly as the pictures depict. Very clean and well equipped for a week's stay. The little window above the sink allows you to see where your car is parked which I liked. It is definitely a place you would have to drive to and drive out of for day visits.
We took day trips to Beamish Museum (15 min drive) and parked up at Heworth (30 min drive) and took the metro into Newcastle city centre for another day. Also, local supermarkets are a short 10 min drive away including ASDA, Aldi and Lidl.
Overall, a lovely getaway for couples who don't mind driving whilst away!
The only thing I could say is there were only curtains for 2/3 of the large windows on the front. And the window without was right next to the bedroom door. This meant the place felt a little exposed once dark out when wandering through.
However, the place faces onto an enclosed courtyard so not too bad.

I liked how cosy and clean the place was. Very relaxing and homely.
Nothing, it was all perfect.

Fantastic place to stay with lots of space. Lovely living area with plenty of room. Nicely done bedroom and bathroom
The mattress was a little soft for us, but nothing too bad.
