About this villa rental
MOMENTS
Moments is not your typical vacation resort. Nestled in the hills of Scarborough, Tobago, situated northeast of its twin island Trinidad, this beautifully appointed villa offers you a home away from home on this small lush Caribbean island replete with rainforests, waterfalls and pristine beaches. Tobago is not your usual touristy island. Tourism does not feel imposed on this country; the island is beautifully defined by its unique local life.
Come here to relax, replenish or rejuvenate. Come with your spouse or partner to rekindle a romance. Come to start, finish or edit your book. (contact us ref. writers packages). Moments features two elegant bedroom suites, each with a private master bath and gorgeous ocean views. You will find a fully appointed kitchen with dining sitting areas that open to a semi-circular porch for sitting, reading or just gazing at the vast ocean view. For guests seeking to reserve both bedrooms the rate is $150 per night. Please contact the owner directly for other longer term rates.
Two steps down and you are in the whirlpool for a soothing water massage under the sun or the moon or in the pool for an invigorating or relaxing swim. Moments surrounds you in tranquility and natural beauty day and night. Moments is close to many open stretches of beach, however, it is recommended that you plan to rent a car or hire a driver for the length of your stay or for day trips. 'Tranquility'-
Tobago is luxuriantly forested with an abundant water supply and mountainous terrain marked by waterfalls and mountain pools along the courses of its many small rivers. Protecting Tobago's coastline is mile after mile of coral reef harbouring a wide variety of marine life which feeds on the fertile convergence of two seas. The mean annual temperature is 32 degrees C (89 degrees F) with an average rainfall of 200 cm (40 inches). Dry season is from January to May and wet season from June to December. Significantly, Tobago is outside of the hurricane belt.

Wow, I could not ask for a better view or a more memorable stay.
This villa has stunning vistas, is close to Scarborough, yet quiet and calm.
Yes, it could definitely use air conditioning in the bedrooms, because Tobago is hottttt! But the private infinity pool and jetted whirlpool easily made up for it.
I loved my time at Moments. You will love it too. Great stay!

This amazingly serene ,beautifully kept property has easily become my favorite place to create memorable moments in : Kathleen’s keen attention to decorative detail and Mr. Godnalds overwhelming hospitality, willingness to go above and beyond expectations and above all his wonderful friendly personality has left me feeling as though I were home . I am grateful beyond compare for this experience and the beginning of what is sure to be my place of peace and happiness . Thank you for showing me what tangible bliss is made of ! 💜💜

Property was what it said it was
Very steep driveway
but beautiful views
Needs a little work and in this country you need AC for which it does not
but the pool makes up for that
Other wise everything there to make you stay there an unbelievable experience

Renting this property was smooth and effortless. Mr Nelson (property manager) was responsive to any of our needs and always shared pleasant conversation while doing so. One would definitely want to rent a car for this location or at least be prepared to taxi. This property has some stairs that could become slippery when wet so I would exercise caution if stairs are a problem and to always use the railing.
The neighbourhood felt safe and was great for our morning walks. A natural beach was just a 15 minute walk away and made for a gorgeous hour long beach walk.
Overall, we were very happy with our choice to rent this beautiful spot.

The property wasn’t what we expected. Bedrooms are accessible by an exterior staircase through a separate locking front door, and this is a wholly separate area to the living accommodation. Odd. And meant carrying separate keys, even indoors.
The property is well overdue for some TLC. One of the 4 available burners on the cooker was out of use due to rust. A second did not heat efficiently. I question the overall safety of the appliance. Nonetheless, we’d get by.
The VRBO listing suggested bars/ restaurants nearby - there are none. The nearest decent-sized supermarket is quite some distance away. A car is essential.
No fault of the owner, but 3 days after we arrived a major building work started immediately next door. This compromised the privacy we’d sought and and the noise started early and continued until nightfall both days before we moved out.
We were given an immediate refund, and our booking cancelled, to be vacated the following day. We were then completely stranded as VRBO were of no help whatsoever. We were timed out of the helpline 3 separate times, each time having to go through full booking and reservation details and each stage of the problem, before being told there were computer issues, being put on hold, then having the online chat disconnected because it had been too long without agent activity.
Fortunately, friends on the island helped, and we found another property to use for our stay. It took VRBO 4 days to get in touch and offer to help.
We can’t recommend the accommodation, if only because to lose half the cooker on a self-catering holiday is rather unreasonable, and we won’t recommend VRBO as they proved utterly pointless and without willingness to help problem-solve. And it was a very significant problem.

The location and view from the front is really worth the trip!!!

The property is beautiful and quiet but needs to be modernized. There is only one small tv in the living room area and no televisions and AC in the bedrooms. Although the location is safe and quiet, it is dismal. The property manager Mr. Gosnel is super accommodating and helpful

This property is something to get up to every morning. The view is magnificent, over looking the ocean. Very peaceful area, if you looking for somewhere to relax I strongly recommend this property.

Beautiful view of the ocean with more than all we needed!
This place is beautiful, well stocked beyond expectations, and serene!
We loved how close the home was to nearby shopping and restaurants. It was also a joy to find the pool always at the perfect temperature, no matter what time of day.
When we arrived, we saw the kitchen was fully stocked with seasonings and cookware...perfect for anyone who loves to cook! You also get to enjoy delicious rain water for drinking, which is more refreshing than one could imagine!
The home is also in an area that is very quiet and serene. You can hear and watch all the local wildlife come alive around you. If you are from the city, this is your chance to escape all the distractions and hear what we often miss amidst all the traffic.
We highly recommend this place and will definitely come again to have more Moments under the Sun.

Moments is located almost on ”the top” in Bacolet with a fantastic view.
The house itself is not the most modern, but everything you need is there, but No AC.
Loves the pool ...

Always great to be on the island and wonderful to have found a property that is so inviting with amazing views on three sides and the ocean right there. You can see the ferry coming and going. Loved it all!

Peaceful in Paradise
My family of 4 stayed at Moments near the end of our vacation. The view is as beautiful as shown - we even saw a rainbow! Nelson was available for any questions/concerns we had - but everything was just right. Great views, lovely space, near the main highway. I just wish we could have stayed longer.

Stunning view with privacy!!
This place is all about the view! Absolutely stunning. . However, this may possibly be changing as the lot just to the west was cleared the week before we arrived which leads one to believe another home is to be built which would likely take the view towards the west. Hopefully the privacy of this home will not be disturbed as this is another GREAT point of this home. The upstairs plumbing is in need of replacement but still usable. The netting over the beds works but I would prefer screen on the windows, but that;s just me. The home and pool were clean. We swam several times daily. Mr. Nelson was extremely nice and came immediately when we called. He also hooked us up with a driver for our stay. Andy, our driver is the very best Ambassador for Tobago!!! He knows all the best places to eat and the best tours. He can answer most any question you have about the area. The walk UP the driveway is a killer but a good work out for the glutes :) The furniture by the pool was not comfortable and there were no loungers that could lay flat for sun-bathng but I would certainly still stay here again.

Gorgeous View
The view from this property is beautiful. Nice and relaxing to sit in the pool on those hot days. Property has most of the items you will need for your stay and property Manager, Gosnel, will help you with anything that you need. Property is a 30 minute walk into town so a car is recommended unless you like to just sit around by the pool and do nothing. Taxi/driver costs can add up over the week. Local cell phone for this property would be recommended for safety reasons.

little bit of heaven in Tobago
this house was just lovely... carefully situated in a neighborhood with other houses, it seems you're all by yourself in this tropical paradise! The kitchen was functional (you're on vacation, not slaving over a hot stove!! so it's perfect), the bedrooms clean and the view from the pool is just stunning. Had dinner in more often then not because it's the best view on this beautiful island. Marlon was a perfect host and kept things running smoothly.
We rented a jeep which was probably necessary given some of the steep roads on the eastern side of the island, and the driveway!
Another tip - we came in on a late flight, and just made it to the car rental place before it closed at 9pm. If possible, don't fly in too late.
other then that... bring the sunscreen and enjoy! there was always a gentle breeze so my bug spray stayed in my suitcase, untouched.
Love Moments!! we will be back for more!

Amazing time at Moments
We loved Moments in Tobago. The rental was perfect for our family. We loved the comfort level of the house, the proximity to town, yet quiet of the area, and the view doesn't have words. Our kids logged multiple hours daily in your pool. Tobago is an amazing island and we had a wonderful time.

Perfect Holiday House
My stay at Moments was wonderful!
I live in Trinidad so I arrived via a ferry service.
This house is situation ontop a small hill, very secluded but not far away from civilisation at all, it gives you the privacy and get away without wondering about security. Near by restaurants and a 5 mins drive from a grocery.
The pool was clean and a decent size, also a relaxing position to swim and become consumed by the spectacular ocean view.
The villa for rent is next to the main villa that is closed off from visitors, the downstairs has a living room/dining room/kitchen. A perfect size for you and your company to chat and spend time while eatting/cooking. The place was very clean and well taken care of.
Both bedrooms are upstairs, with its own door as the stair case is on the outside. Both bedrooms are opposite from each other with its en suite bathroom. Bedrooms and bathroom were identical.
Despite the lack of a/c, the nights were cool as the rooms had adequate windows to open and allow chilly night breeze in.
There is also an outdoor shower, a very nice add on.
I prepared myself for bugs and mosquitos, both of which was not a problem at all during my stay.
The hill to get to the villa is rather steep with a bend, so I would definitely recommend a big vehicle that would be capable of driving up with ease.
I would also recommend calling the houseman when you arrive for directions to avoid getting lost. The houseman is very helpful, and on call if needed, but also gives you your privacy and only visits on request.
My only complaints would have to be poor wifi service and the kitchen utensils. The pan/pot variety was small and may restrict some meals from being prepared, some appliances were a bit out dated, but myself along with my party made the best of it, so it didnt pose a big problem at all. I will recommend walking with a few major utensils, fry pan, can opener, etc.
All in all I will definitely return, and recommend Moments, it is a perfect holiday house, has just enough space needed, and provides the necessities of a vacation house. Perfect for a get away from the city life, a peaceful view and a very safe feeling. The owner replied to my emails very promptly and was very willing to attend to any questions I had, and interacting with the housman was very enjoyable.
Moments is a great vacation house, I fully enjoyed my stay!

Caribbean Bliss
Our party of four adults spent 3 thoroughly enjoyable nights at "Moments". The facilities were excellent, the view out across the Atlantic amazing, and the layout of the two villas perfect for our needs. Highly recommended for 2 x couples.

A wonderful holiday experience!! I recommend Moments very highly!
In August 2013, my family and I stayed at Moments for a week. We are Trinidadians and have stayed at several different types of accommodation in Tobago - hotels, guest houses and villas. We have also holidayed in other Caribbean islands and I have travelled extensively throughout the region attending conferences and meetings staying at many hotels from the simple to the luxurious.
Our experience at Moments was truly wonderful. It is very well located: just outside the main town in Tobago, Scarborough; with a beautiful view of the Caribbean Sea. Though there are neighbouring houses, the design of Moments means that once there you feel that you are in your own little private oasis.
The villa is very well appointed and designed and has all the requirements for a very comfortable stay. The pool and outdoor jacuzzi add to the facilities but, quite frankly except for some of my children who spent short times in the pool, we preferred to swim at one of the many good beaches that Tobago has to offer. This has nothing to do with the pool, but nothing beats good, warm Caribbean sea!
Our holiday experience was wonderful and the owners and the person who takes care of the premises in their absence provided us with all the support we needed. want to get away? Rest? Relax? Rejuvenate? Moments did all that for my family and I. I'm sure it will do it for you too!

Piece of paradise
The place is very sharp, the view is stunning, noting is missing ( kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms...) very quiet and private. If you like to rent proprety (condo, cottage, home) on vacation your are going love this one. The only thing that we would expect is more deck chairs, to relax by the beautiful pool and spa. We spend time in Trinidad and Tobago and if we go back, it's going to be Tobago ! Same place for sure! We believe that a car is advantage, to go around!
4.7
Stunning ocean view!
It was a sheer joy to stay at Moments!
The listing accurately reflected the location of the property as well as the distance from the airport. The cost listed is per bedroom, although there is a discount when both bedrooms are rented. There also is a small insurance fee.
In general the property was as pictured. The house is painted in a gorgeous shade of blue, decorated very tastefully and thoughtfully, and the views of the ocean from the bedrooms, the living room and the pool and jacuzzi are simply stunning!
Although there were fans in each room, the weather was relatively cool, especially at night. We also did not need to use the mosquito nets that were provided.
The outdoor shower was spacious and delightful to bathe in on warm, sunny mornings.
The only surprises were 1) the steep driveway (after all, it's on the side of a hill! Also, the owner thoughtfully added steps and a handrail to help with the walk up the driveway) and 2) the steps to the bedrooms on the second floor were on the outside, not the inside, of the house.
Although car rentals are rather pricey, having a dependable car likely would be a plus, both with going up the driveway as well as getting into Scarborough (the wait for a taxi on the street can be rather long and the walk into town can be a bit much for some folk). The other option would be to hire a driver, but this can become rather expensive if it's done over several days.
I called and/or e-mailed the owner at least five times prior to my trip. She was always prompt in getting back to me, friendly, courteous, thoughtful and knowledgable. It was a delight to speak with her.
I must add that the owner's thoughtfulness and care were apparent even in the small things - DVDs, puzzles, a book of stories and jokes, a book listing attractions on the island, umbrellas, a cell phone, wonderful smelling soap, etc.
I already recommended this vacation rental to my brother and a couple of friends. Of course, I am looking forward to enjoying another vacation at Moments in the not too distant future!

A "Moment" to reflect
I was a guest at "Moments" twice. First in 2004 and, again in 2006. I'm long overdue for a return trip. I am a frequent traveler to the Caribbean - my roots run deep in two other islands but I can say that, more than any other island I've been to, "Moments" in Tobago made me feel most at home. The physical space created by the builders/owners is magnificent. It does what many tropical villas DON'T do - it embodies the landscape and the climate so that there is a beautiful balance of nature and nurture. The rooms are beautifully appointed: the bedrooms are cozy and comfortable lending themselves appropriate for the romantic or the meditative or both; the bathrooms large and luxurious especially after a day at the beach when sand is in your pores and you long for a cleansing shower to refresh you. The living space blends indoor and outdoor so that you can prepare meals while gazing at the sea; sit inside or out to eat; feel the breeze that wafts through the shuttered and beautiful windows. The infinity pool is an absolute delight. You can swim to infinity and get a workout at the same time or you can tread in place just gazing at the ocean view that lies in front of you. The care and service you receive at "Moments" is unparalleled. Guest are treated like family and your every need is anticipated or provided upon request. I recommend a visit to "Moments" wholeheartedly, that's if I don't beat you to it!

Comments on our stay@ this beautiful property
My husband and I have stayed @ this beautiful property several times over the past eight years and have always felt well respected by the owners of this lovely property. In fact following several stays we felt as if we were guests of this couple in their beautiful home
Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean . It is a ice treat to watch as the ferry travels to and fro Trinidad to Tobago. The views from this property are lovely which further enhances being
Able to stay @ this incredible property. The guest house's accommodations are so nice ,
Very comfortable w/ kitchen facilities allowing guests to prepare food if desired. Many times
This may be a bonus for guests which may allow a saving on their vacation as they don't have to eat out unless this is desired by the particular guest/s. The large beautiful infinity
Pool allows one to relax , swim and / or use the hot tub; a treat following a active day of
Sight seeing. The accommodations have always been clean, comfortable w/ the surrounding
Area quiet allowing for a restful night of sleep. Awakening to the mountain and ocean views
Is also a favorite of our sand many other we suspect. The property is well maintained , the pool area very clean and the rooms beautifully done in warm comfortable colors adding to the overall relaxation of this unique property. My husband and I would highly recommend
This particular property for all of the features listed And more.
