Really enjoyed the house and appreciated very much being able to take our dogs. Felt that at that nightly rate of $800+ there should have been decent beach chairs to use. There were old/unusable ones in the garage. We had a water leakage problem in the garage that we notified management about.

Wonderful stay and a short bike ride to the beach. House floorplan was perfect for our needs and the sunroom and screened porch were our favorite. House needs a little love but it was a very clean and well supplied vacation home that I would rent again.

This home is spacious and comfortable,and was very clean! We enjoyed the pool, porches, the card table and billiard table. We had everything we needed to enjoy our multi family stay!

Heating system didn’t work. Jets in Hot tub didn’t work. Wine Cooler froze causing exploding beverage cans. Burners on stove didn’t work properly. Sinks and toilets not working properly. Only three out of seven TVs works with remotes provided.

active family get-a-way
My husband and I had 8 young adults with us. We loved the house... even more so because we could bring our poodles. We had plenty of room. At night we played games in the great room and made use of the pool table and during the day used the outdoor pool, tennis, golf and beach for family olympics. We cooked in a well supplied kitchen. We explored the island and cycled because everything is so close. Charleston was convenient enough to enjoy and fly everyone in and out easily. A winner all the way around! Very repeatable.

Post post Trump Pandemic family gathering
We had a great time. The pool and pool table were fun. The 3 rescue dogs were very happy. Our humans’ age range was 23-93. Loved the enclosedsun room and screened porch. Sweetgrass was receptive to minor maintainence issues but due to the age of the house and HVAC System it takes overnight for the house to cool to the desired temperature. The shower door in the room with the King and Queen needs replacement. The fridge and dining room seating are not quite sufficient for a house for 12 people. Overall great.

Great winter getaway
Our family enjoyed Christmas week in this extra large home with lots of space to spread out. The home had everything we needed to feel at home.

Fall getaway
We had a great stay & no complaints. You all addressed the one bed issues promptly. Opening this large home to pets is the draw for this property. Being a pet owner, we expected a home that was not pristine. Pets are hard on homes, & to rent a home that allows pets, one should expect the floors to show wear & the home to be a little dated. Therefore the shortcomings of the Surfsong home are overlooked.
Had we rented this home without petI, our perception would have been quite different. There are some things that need attention in the home- upstairs shower over garage has spongy spot in floor; rot in door frame inside master bedroom door exiting home on small deck; water stains/bubbles in ceilings (especially master bath); & rot in spacer in walkway near front outdoor steps (trip hazard, especially at night).
We thank you for your service, & to the owner for the per night price for a home this large. The pool, pool table, size, dog friendly status make the short comings/condition of the home acceptable. We really had a nice time with family. I was able to work from the house, & my daughter took online classes at CofC, while guys played golf.

256 Surfsong
Please let me begin with the fact that we are repeat customers with Sweetgrass Properties and have always left the homes and Kiawah excited for our next visit. We have also stayed at this property previously and do not like to leave negative feedback, however, we have never had an experience like staying at 256 Surfsong in 30 years. This property has not received the attention that it deserves as it is apparent by the below comments:
1. Dirty upon arrival, dirt and sand everywhere. Dust bunnies everywhere. The only way that anyone could tell that it had been visited by cleaning staff was because it appeared to have clean towels in the bathrooms. Definitely no extra precautions due to COVID.
2. Bathrooms were not maintained and had multiple issues. First bedroom on lower right has a broken shower rod that fell multiple times, including hitting a child in the head. The exhaust fan is also so dirty and clogged with dust that it does not exhaust steam. The bathroom in the above garage bedroom has a broken glass door that you have to lift to close. This is extremely dangerous. There is also paint peeling from moisture and black mold all over the vent in the ceiling.
3. The AC would not cool the house below 72/75 degrees even when set to 68 as recommended. This could be due to the broken latch on the window in the living room facing the pool. This window let hot air in the entire time along with humidity.
4. The right garage door is broken and off the track, not locked and easily accessible for anyone to open.
5. The seal on the refrigerator at the bottom is coming off and dripping condensation. Mold everywhere.
6. The beams stretching across the ceiling above the pool table are dirty with black dust and grime. Can be easily seen from the loft upstairs.
7. The clear glass sink in the hall bathroom on the first floor does not drain well. It is very dirty.
8. The garbage cans were so full upon our arrival that we were not able to dispose of any of our garage the entire week.
9. The kitchen plates were dirty inside the cabinets and overall kitchen needed to be cleaned before using anything.
10. It doesn't appear that the yard has had for years. The flowerbeds are full of sand and dirt with dead branches and tree limbs dropping everywhere.
11. The pool water was dirty and cloudy like swamp water. It was not circulating. We had to call to find out if it would be serviced. Once the pool maintenance arrived on Thursday, they had to shock the pool, add chlorine and earth, and unclog the filter.
12. The hose on the side of the house used for washing sand off has many holes and leaks and sprays everywhere.
13. There are older model televisions in the guest rooms that are not connected to cable and cannot be used.
14. There was food left in the refrigerator and freezer that had to be disposed of upon arrival.
15. The smaller refrigerator across from the large one is leaking water and is not functional.
16. The wooden blinds on the exterior sunroom door is broken and falls off the door.
17. Both the propane tank that was attached to the grill AND the spare were empty. The grill was therefore not able to be used.
18. When trying to use the vacuum cleaner the canister was full of some kind of litter or gerbil food pellets.
I know that this is a rough review, but one of the reasons we keep coming back to Kiawah is the standard of quality throughout the island.

Plenty of space for two families of four and grandparents. Great location only a short distance to the beach on Surfsong or a couple blocks to the bike path on Governors Drive. to take you to wherever you'd like to go.

Great Rental house
Great rental house, a lot bigger than we expected. It's open but also broken up in a good way to give some space to one another, especially if you have kids that go to bed early, sleep late, etc. Nothing fancy, but a good house to bring families with kids. Minor updates throughout would give it an excellent rating, but we would definitely stay here again

A few things about the condition of the house - the front doorknob should be replaced. It was very difficult for us to get in and out of the house. It always took may attempts at turning the handle before it would actually open. Also, the dryer vent needs to be fixed. We fixed the best we could with the new hose the repair person left for us. We did not want the repair people in the house while we were there. The master bedroom toilet needed to be plunged every few days. Probably needs replacing. The flow is so slow it doesn't push out the water well. Lastly, the screen porch is completely torn along the bottom and therefore defeated the use of a screened porch. Lots of bugs go in through the opening. Other than the needed updates, the place was great. The inside and outside space was perfect and a good location.

Diverse group From DC in SC for a wedding
This home comfortably accommodated three adult couples and 5 children. We found the property and community to be pleasant and beautifully maintained with friendly neighbors and staff. We enjoyed the billiards table, large kitchen area and sunrooms. We came for a wedding in March so no swimming for us.
Our only issue was that upon arrival, we found quite a few items broken. I.e. the Pool tables rack, stove vent, an accent table leg. All were minor, except the vent, So it didn’t adversely affect our stay. Perhaps these issues have Since been addressed.
Overall it is a clean and beautiful property that I would recommend.

We had 12 people over the Labor Day weekend. Nice pool. There are plenty of refrigerators for drinks. Nice water pressure in the showers. Very nice place to ride bikes.

We had a great week with 13 family members at 256 Surfsong. The house and pool were great as was the overall environment. Getting clear info on beach proximity was a bit problematic, but we figured it out. We heartily recommend a stay here.

Beautiful Home, Great for Big Groups!
This is a beautiful and spacious home with a lovely screen porch, pool, and deck. The layout of the house is very nice, with several rooms upstairs and down, each with their own bathroom. This gave us the privacy we needed, as we had several families staying together. The location was ideal. Very close to the Sanctuary hotel and all of Kiawah's restaurants. It is also a nice, scenic, quick drive to the Ocean Course. I highly recommend this home! We didn't want to leave!
