We had 18 family members meet for a float trip on the Buffalo River. We rented the top two floors of the Lodge. It was beautiful and adequately met our needs. It was very clean and the check in process was easy. Communication was great and they answered all our questions. Very well stocked kitchen. The pull out sofa beds were futons and really could not hold two adults, but we used them for kids and one adult. The toilets are a bit low for the elderly in our group, so I might suggest installing some grab bars by the toilets and for the showers. The step up onto the front porch was also a bit tall for one of our elderly family members who was recovering from some recent health issues (they wanted to be part of the family gathering). We had renters in the lower portion of the house both nights we stayed. It was two different parties. Both of those parties were a bit confused by our presence and I had to assist them to understand they were renting the lower level and we had the rest of the house. It was fine, but more communication might be needed to let the parties know that someone else is renting a portion of the home. Overall, it is 5 stars!!

Plenty of space for the family! Kitchen was well stocked.

We had 10 adults staying here for two nights. We enjoyed canoeing one day down the Buffalo and relaxing by the firepit at night. 3 rooms on main level (2 kings, 1 queen) and 2 rooms upstairs (2 kings + 2 twin beds in each room upstairs too). Nice porch to sit and watch the sun set over the trees. Really had a nice time.
If there were any suggestions I would say bring kleenex and toilet paper (the TP was some discount corporate brand) and maybe a big bath towel (the bathroom towels were on the smaller size and fairly broken in by previous renters). Those are little things though and the property and atmosphere there was very nice.

THE PROPERTY WAS BEAUTIFUL AND VERY ROOMY. LOVED THE FIREPLACE, GAME ROOM AND THE FIRE PIT OUTSIDE.

The lodge was beautiful and extremely clean. The owner was quick to respond to any questions I had as well as very accommodating.
We asked to check in a couple of hours early and she arranged for that to be possible.
The property was beautiful.
My only complaint was the AC. We are from Louisiana so we are very used to the heat, however when we sleep we want it cold.
The upstairs rooms were very warm (understandably so) so we turned the AC down to 68. Every time we would leave and come back it was back on 70. The owner was wirelessly turning it up when we left. I understand electric bills are crazy expensive right now but we paid a lot of money and didn’t want to air to be changed unless we were changing it.
Other than that it was a great vacation spot!

Relaxing
This house was large enough to hold all 17 of us! Very comfortable and beautiful scenery. The living room furniture has definitely seen its better days - should really be replaced! Other than that, this was a great place to stay.

Family gathering
Lodge was very clean and roomy. Beds were comfortable. There was plenty of cookware, but much of it was in pretty bad shape; I will bring my own next time. You may want to specifically ask about the hot tub prior to your stay. We found that it had no water in it, which was a little disappointing, but not a deal killer. We'd book again for a similar gathering.

Great Stay
We got lost a few times, but the lodge gave us plenty of space to stay and relax. The game room was neat, but pool sticks were pretty worn, so if pool is your thing, bring a stick or two. Also, not an issue for us, but it’s about a half hour from a store. Bring what you need or plan for an hour of drive time.

Perfect Location
Our family group of 9 stayed at the Lodge for a float trip on the Buffalo River. The cabin is very roomy & everyone loved having their own space and bath! Nicoleta was quick to respond to all my questions prior to the trip & also once we arrived. We rented the kayaks & canoes they had available & they were awesome to load the trailer for us. This cabin is close to access point North Maumee which was very convenient. The road to the cabin got some negative reviews & I was concerned but it really wasn't a big deal so don't let that sway you from this great cabin. Thank you Nicoleta for
your wonderful hospitality!

Our stay
The place is great. Very roomy. Nicolette was fantastic to work with. All in all we would of loved the place without the quiet time. A few things I would change is definitely quiet hours. When you’re on vacation with 19 people you have to expect game nights, chatting by the fire, and some noise from the kiddos walking around. We appreciate how Nicolette handled it but maybe change it to midnight at least. Also the laundry room should be described that it’s down the road. And maybe clean it up some and get lighting. We would come home late and wash the wet clothes for the next day. And lastly some more big pans. When you are cooking for that many people it would help.

Perk-Giving
We planned this back in July...wanting to get away with just our kids and grandbabies for Thanksgiving. The place was nice, but we were sad the hot tub was not working as that is something we look for when we travel. Wish there was more info about things the lodge didn't come with...ie kitchen items! We loved the lodge and the owners were attentive when we asked questions...and it was def a nice getaway!
Side note, the road to get to the lodge is VERY CURVY and made 4 of us VERY sick!!!

Awesome
Getting there is a windy road that required some Dramamine. The place is awesome and not far from lots of trails and the Buffalo River. We went for a long weekend. Make sure to check what they provide and what they don’t. Also double check what’s there. Some stuff we brought we needed, others a previous group left behind and we didn’t realize it (coffee filters). Plenty of space for everyone. There were people downstairs in the other rental. They were friendly, and we didn’t bother one another. They let us use the fire pit, which was great and the kids loved sitting around playing games in the evening.

Great House- huge bedrooms
We really enjoyed our stay here. The house has a nice kitchen, great big dining room table, and plenty of space. Each upstairs bedroom is huge. They are so big you could sleep a lot of people in each one.

A place for everyone.
They say your cousins are your first real friends. That is certainly true in my family and these past three days we had three generations at this property. There was plenty of room for everyone and everyone wants to do it again next year. Highly recommend and awesome communication with the owner!

Unexpected renter
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay until 3am Friday night when we were awakened by loud talking in a language we could not understand and it sounded like it was right outside our bedroom door in the kitchen. This caused us to have to call 911 because we felt our lives were in danger. The sheriff office did finally reach the owner as we stayed on the phone and she informed them that a group was due in to occupy the bottom floor. That was not an issue, the issue was that we were not told someone would be coming in that late and not to be alarmed. We have never experienced such fear that this incident brought on and ruined the end of our stay. All that needed to happen to prevent this was a text from the owner to let us know.

Awesome Family Vacation
My family and I really enjoyed our stay. The property inside was very clean and the property itself was beautiful and remote. From time to time you would see deer, rabbits, and turkey. My one small complaint was the deck and porch could have been swept before we arrived. There were lots of cobwebs along the house and rocking chairs. Not a big issue. Hard to control nature. I would definitely rent the house again and or recommend it to friends.

Nice place
The house is well appointed, clean and as listed. There are fun games to play, and plenty of dishes for large groups. However, it was having some plumbing issues when we were there. One of the bathrooms actually rained into the living room closet. The basement apt had issues too. A handyman came out, but couldn’t fix it while we were there. We just shared and had 1 less bathroom. Oh and the hot tub was yucky but we didn’t want to use it anyway.

Spacious and well equipped
We rented the top two floors for 8 adults and 2 children. It was perfect--so much space and loved having king sized beds in the four bedroom suites. Everything (including the outdoor hot tub) was in good working order, and despite the rainy forecast we enjoyed the nearby hikes. This property is set on a very large and beautiful lot as well. Hope to be back!

This house was perfect for our group of 5 families. It had all of the amenities we needed in a beautiful off-the-beaten-path setting that’s close to the river. We would love to come back and stay again.

A beautiful home in a beautiful and peaceful setting
Our big family group of 28 including adults and children enjoyed our short stay in this roomy, nicely decorated, and well kept home. We rented both levels and everyone found a place to sleep. We enjoyed gathering on the deck and around the fire pit in the evening and playing various games before retiring for the night, both in the spacious living areas and the game room. Some enjoyed the hot tub, also. We also celebrated three family birthdays one evening and grilled burgers on the deck the next. At no time did it feel crowded inside or out. In short, everyone was very pleased and talked about returning. Most went canoeing on Saturday, but could have found plenty to do just staying at the lodge since there were both inside and outside games available.

Very nice lodge and setting. There are items of consideration that potential renters should know.
This is a very nice lodge and the ability to interact with the horses, chickens, etc is an added benefit. Owner did work with us on our last-minute rental and need to accommodate small dogs for one member of our party. For anyone considering renting this property, there are some things you need to know that aren't clearly disclosed in the VRBO posting.
1. Staff lives in the bottom floor of the lodge you are renting. This means you only have 2 floors of the 3 available to you. Pictures that show the bottom floor with a pool table are not part of the rental because it is occupied.
2. The lower floor has access to the rest of the lodge through the kitchen.
3. No smoking in the lodge but staff smoking on bottom floor/outside led to smoke pulled into the house and stunk up one end of the lodge.
4. No cable. This is clearly stated but we checked up front to see if we would be able to watch college bowl games on New Year's Day. We were told that we would have access through a streaming service, unfortunately, the internet access is Hughes Net and it was horrendous. We ended up having to stream the games through our phones. The owner did try to assist us and after several attempts to use the internet service, we got the "our posting clearly states we don't have cable" response. After checking up front that access is adequate and spending nearly $1000 for a 2-day stay, I expect a better response than that.
5. Pool table is cheap, falling apart, and located in a single car garage.
6. Hot tub broken.
7. We had to go buy some additional pans for cooking because there weren't enough supplied pans.
To summarize, this is a very nice lodge that accommodated our large group, last-minute and we enjoyed it very much. There were several items that we felt were not clearly revealed in the rental listing and that's why we have included them here for future renters' knowledge.
