The location was perfect for us to enjoy our day trips along the Maine coast line & small villages.
This location is perfect if you enjoy solitude & nature in the evening.

The home and property are just lovely - I wish we had enough time to fully utilize it all! We visited for a wedding at French’s Point and it happened in the midst of a storm which knocked out power in the entire area for half a day. The host was so helpful and supportive in making sure we were well informed and in case we needed anything. If we are ever back in this beautiful area, we would definitely stay here again! Thank you!!

Comfortable stay. Very warm but fans and upstairs window air conditioner definitely helped. Enjoyed proximity to Sandy point beach and coastal attractions

We were 3 adults and 4 children, ages 11 - 5. There was plenty of room for all of us to spread out if necessary. There were plenty of books and toys for all. A nice selection of books about the local communities. The kitchen was well appointed. There is nothing missing... The trundle beds, upstairs, were a big hit with the kids. The master bedroom with an ensuite, is lovely.
Sandy Point Beach is a short distance from the house. It is an inlet for the Penobscot River. No big waves and shallow, at low tide, for the younger swimmers. The beach is not sandy, so bring your water shoes. You can see the Penobscot Narrows bridge from the beach. It is an impressive sight. Be sure to visit Fort Knox and the Observatory. Warren's restaurant was delicious. Highly recommended.
On a personal note, be sure to visit a couple of stores; Reny's in Belfast and Marden's in Ellsworth. Two of my very favorites'
Overall, it was a wonderful vacation and one we will remember years to come!

It was the best Vrbo we have ever stayed in. The layout was good for us as the sleeping room were not all on top of each other. The host gave wonderful info about local things to see, where shopping was located, and distances to places. The amenities were great and we didn't need anything that wasn't provided. We enjoyed the week and had a wonderful time. The beach was great for kids.

We had a family wedding at The French's Point which was like 3 minutes by car from this rental. The house was perfect for my family. I love the outside. Also we had a problem with one of the bathrooms and the owner was able to take care of it within an hour. Highly recommend this rental

We came to Maine to experience the life along Maine’s coast- we picked this VRBO because of price, location, and the beauty of the home - the owner responded to our text’s quickly - we had no big issues with the property- and the handbook and email’s explained everything we needed to know. Was a wonderful trip- we went to Bucksport, Belfast, Camden and Acadia National Park.

We loved this quaint home with a rich history. It was quiet and clean. We appreciated the fans to keep us cool at night and enjoyed our stay very much!

Cute house. The decor was eclectic and beautiful. Such a fun house to stay in. Plenty of space to spread out and have lots of beds. Beautiful property and lots of wild flowers. Very relaxing. Kate was quick to respond the one time we needed her.

Cottage was perfect for a family of 6 adults. Plenty of room for sleeping and eating dinners together. It was nice to have three bathrooms also. The cottage is in a very quiet peaceful location. There are many things to do close by and not too far from Bar Harbor. We enjoyed our stay!

Very nice property, very well stocked and clean. We really didn`t have to buy a thing except for our food. My 5 year old grandson loved playing with all the toys provided. Loved the wild gardens in the front. Didn't sit outside too much due to the mosquitos, but I read something about an outdoor screened in area being built. We had someone in a wheelchair with us and after pulling her up the 4 wooden front stairs she was able to access the entire downstairs which is appreciated as it is very difficult to find a house able to somewhat accommodate someone in a wheelchair even though this property is not listed as handicapped accessible, we`ve learned to make due with what is available. The bathroom in the downstairs bedroom was very large and she was also able to access that which is extremely appreciated. From this house we were able to visit Bangor, Belfast, Bar Harbor, Acadia, Bucksport and Sandy Point beach.

This is a beautiful, well maintained house with an updated an FULLY stocked kitchen and plenty of room for our group of 8 people. The hosts were also incredible thoughtful and welcoming. The house is full of toys, games, and items you might need, like bug spray.

We had 4 generations of family members and 2 friends that stayed here, so the 4 bed rooms and 3 baths came in handy. The home owners was very accommodating and even purchased-supplied a 'pack-n-play' when we inquired if they had access to one, so that we didn't have to include it in all of the other items we needed for a toddler. The toys came in handy to occupy our toddler and even if we had older children it would have been a perfect fit. Was centrally located to all of the Maine towns that we planned on visiting. Sandy beach would have been a great place to play if it was warmer during our stay and would have been very secluded with little to no beach goers.

We had a wonderful time. This property is quiet and relaxing. My three adult, college-aged kids loved being able to spread out and had their own spaces.

Former post office of the area/village and was spacious with more than enough sleeping arrangements for our 4. 6 beds went unused! There is no AC except in 1 room upstairs but several fans help move air. The kitchen has more than enough of everything imaginable. Communication with the host was quick and helpful. A few items need attention, water pressure in upstairs sink (shower was fine) and the kitchen faucet was just a trickle due to broken aerator. Probably will be fixed soon. Checkout is 10 AM even though it says 11 at 1 space on the description. Didn't matter to us. The location is, 45-60 minutes from Arcadia and that nearby peninsula so not close but again, quite manageable. Quiet and serene; we enjoyed the property.

We’ve been coming to Maine annually for about 10 years to visit with extended family and to explore. We’ve stayed in a number of different rental homes, and found this property to be ideally located between many of our favorite points such as Acadia, Bangor, and Belfast, and each year we discover new mini trips to take. This year we added Deer Isle to our list.
We enjoy this quiet location, off the main roads, and have felt comfortable returning here each night. Our children enjoy playing in the loft bedroom with all the toys, and the well provisioned kitchen allows us to minimize our dining out all the time.
As we plan ahead for next year’s trip, we will be keeping this location on our short list.

We had a terrific time staying at this idylllic home in the Stockton Springs area. It’s location was great for getting down the coast in either direction for exploring or going just down the road for fun at sandy beach. The home was wonderful and had everything we could need and more and the hosts were kind and easy to communicate with.

Great Maine Coast Homebase
This property was perfect for exploring the Maine coast from Camden up to Acadia National Park. It was extremely charming, clean, spacious, and a beautiful piece of land! Also, Sandy Point Beach is just a five minute drive away. I will definitely recommend this to friends!

Beautiful purple Lupine flowers around pond out front. We enjoyed the fire pit and saw fireflies. The house is well supplied and our group of 8 fit well.

Everything was as described in the VRBO ad. I would highly recommend it for anyone traveling with children. They have toys, games and books for all ages. Thanks Kate everything was fantastic.

We had to do a little driving to see the things we wanted. We enjoyed the scenery. The house was quaint, relaxing and comfortable. Everything we needed was at the house.

Maine Vacation 2021
We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again! The home is great, so comfortable and clean. We all enjoyed the sunroom and our girls are still talking about the trundle beds and toys in the loft area and the books in the living room. Our one daughter was completely fascinated with all the small doors in various rooms which adds to the charm. We cooked a lot of meals in and the kitchen was easy to navigate. The location was great for us as we needed to visit Farmington and Bangor and also wanted to spend time in Acadia. We visited the Sandy Point Beach a few times since it is so close.

Beautiful, well-maintained home
This beautiful, well-maintained home was a wonderful place to vacation in Maine. Communication with the owner was easy. There are lots of enjoyable things to do in the area.

Quiet Retreat
It was a cozy house and on a nice quiet road that allowed the kids to scooter, skateboard and rollerblade and made for nice runs/walks. The kids also loved the paved driveway. The one downside is that the grounds were not what we were hoping, The gardens right up against the house were very over grown and the lawn had not been mowed, so there wasn't much green space to hang out in. The water pressure in the kitchen also made for a tough time cooking and cleaning, as we did not eat out. Overall, we had a wonderful time.

Stockton Springs
The house was beautiful. The property well kept and the home updated. It rained a few times while we were there and it was damp. Window air conditioners would have been perfect. We had plenty of room.

5 stars all around... :)
enjoyed our stay... appreciated "everyone is welcome here" signs...
nothing amiss that the descriptions didn't prepare us for (although did wish that the bathtub downstairs was a shower instead - not a reflection on owner/ manager/ property... :)
fyi, to manager/ owner, front right stove burner did not work (again, not a reflection on them)...
Kate, the manager/ owner, was responsive & understanding to my annoying texts...
the weather was mild during our stay - can't vouch for comfort in extreme heat (or cold, for that matter)...
a good time was had by all... 5 stars all around... :)

Beautiful well equipped home
This is a great house and centrally located along the Maine coast which makes exploring the coastal towns very easy. There were 6 of us and there was more than enough room for everyone to be comfortable. The house is very well equipped and has just about anything you will need during your visit. The only issue we had was that we encountered several flying ants around the house. Once I messaged Kate, her mom Helen quickly responded and had a pest control service out as soon as possible. Very responsive owners. Enjoy your visit!

Great stay!
I stayed here for a week with two other adult family members. Kate was very responsive from the minute I booked the house to reaching out that I had accidentally left something at the house right after we had departed.
The house was lovely - very clean and was accurate to the description. Clear instructions for check-in and check-out and marked messages all over the house for switches, fans, rooms, etc., which was very helpful. It was a short walk to Sandy Point Beach as well and close to French’s Point (for those staying to attend a wedding there).
Would definitely recommend this place!

Beautiful home - ideal location
We really enjoyed our stay. This is a perfect place for a group of friends or family to get together. There are 5 beds, 3 bathrooms and lots of space. We enjoyed using the outdoor fire pit at night. There are lots of great spots to visit nearby - we went as far north as Acadia National Park (about 1 hour) and as far south as Mt Battie (about an hour). Nearby, we visited the beach and lighthouse multiple times. The host provided everything we needed for a relaxing stay.

Lovely escape
The house is spacious and really has everything you could want. The soaking tub was really fun - we all had a turn relaxing! Loved having the three bathrooms, including the jack-and-jill one upstairs for my kids. Would absolutely come again!

A lovely stay with a bit of room for improvement
Overall we were very happy with our stay. First and foremost, the owners were wonderful. They were very responsive before and during the trip. And the little tips left around the house made it very easy to adjust.
The home is in very good condition. The renovated areas (kitchen, bathrooms) have quality work. And the entire home is well maintained. Even the barn is organized and clean!
However, there are a few minor that would easily make this a 5-star home and guarantee a return. When added up, these result in a 4-star rating and uncertainty around returning.
- we had two mice in the house during our stay. come to find out, there is a little note in the kitchen explaining that you might see them in the winter months given its rural location. and all the little "nightlights" around the house are actually rodent deterrents. the home could benefit from more sealing and rodent traps inside and out. we were advised a contractor is coming Sep-2020 to address the mice "problem".
- there are maybe a dozen fans around the house, and if you're clever on placement and when you open the windows during the day, you can keep the house comfortable. but the electricity running all dozen fans 24x7 would easily be saved by investing in 1-2 window AC units. And then guests would have the choice to keep it comfy or cold. this would just make the home 5-star.
- the fire place odor in the dining room is very strong, it smells like you walked into a log cabin. suggest to try and de-odorize during the months when you're not allowed to use the FP. not sure if guests are ever allowed, as the notes say they are not working FPs.
- the smoke detector (?) battery in the basement needs replacing.
Location - very, very quiet street, the home is on a large portion of land and very private. Stocktown Springs and the towns northeast and southeast of it are extremely small and rural. We thought Belfat, Searsport and Bucksport would have plenty to do, however if you blink driving through them you'll miss those towns. If you don't mind driving 45 minutes to an hour to get to civilization, then location is not an issue. We were disappointed with Rockland, it has a big city feel and had zero people walking around. Head to Bar Harbor or Camden. Sandy Point Beach is great. Very close parking, lots of room, the tide is really cool. The other little "beach" area the owners mentioned is nearly impossible to get to unless you have a tank or want some serious hiking.
