TRANSPORTATION:
No car is necessary for three reasons.
#1 - you're right in the core and you have ski-in and ski-out access at the Peaks ski valet
#2 the FREE gondola takes you into Telluride from 7:00 am until midnight, every day or until 2:00 am on festival weekends.

Don't be fooled by the many condos that advertise themselves as 'right next to the parking lot gondola'. Those can be inconvenient because that gondola station has a line every morning and every afternoon that can be as long as 40 mins to get to the lift ticket office, ski school or just to go into the charming town of Telluride at night vs this condo is 2 mins away by foot.
Non-reserved parking available.

There certainly were some pluses that made it a bit more luxurious than other options. The main bathroom with the walk-in steam shower was wonderful. It was small and lacked some things like a stove, dishwasher, and counter space. There were not locks on the doors inside

We arrived on Sat and although the inside was fairly clean the two outside patios were not usable they were so filthy. We messaged the owner thru the app and he responded that they would send their son to come clean which they did. But then we experienced a horrific night with the owners, who live full time in the unit above, making incredibly loud noise from 1-3am with loud banging and dogs barking. The outlets did not work in the master bedroom so we had no electricity in the only bedroom. There is not air conditioning or windows to provide air through the unit unless you open the doors and it was high mosquito season. The last night we came home to prepare dinner, we experienced the owner above again dropping water and dirt onto the patio by vacuuming, cleaning the grill and sweeping the unit above. We asked them to stop and encountered a very delusional and down right disrespectful owner. He told us that everything cld not be perfect for us and acted like he was completely out of it. The owner made us feel uncomfortable and was disrespectful to the space that we rented. There was a major roofing construction project happening right outside that went on each day with a screaming forklift at 7am-7:30 pm. This should’ve been documented in the rental details as we would never have rented this property if we could not access or use a clean patio or sleep at night. After many years of renting through VRBO this was the worst. Would not recommend renting

The property is quant and intimate for a family of five. It had everything we needed for a family ski vacation. The owner was extremely responsive and helpful.

The four of us enjoyed our stay here very much, easy to walk to the Mountain Village gondola, and the house was small but well equipped! We enjoyed the steam shower after a day of skiing, and the beds were very hard to get out of they were so comfortable, overall great stay!

Super awesome little apartment just a few steps away from Mountain Village!! Perfect for us - a group of two with a chill dog.

Incredibly convenient accessible to the mountain slopes and the gondola. The property is delightful, and very comfortable, sort of home away from home. We highly recommend it.

Words cant even begin to describe how awesome the host was. My family was looking for a fun vacation with a relaxing area to stay. Upong getting there we were amazed at the spot and the amenities. We were able to get around mountain village easily thanks to the location it is a quick walk anywhere and I mean quick! My family was visitng from a much lower elevation and are not use to the thin air and they had no problem getting around! The host is available for any questions but they are not around constantly which is really nice! Appliances were amazing as was the bathrooms and such. The place was clean there were a few things left but nothing major sheets were clean and towels were clean some spots cleaners missed where areas behind the beds and furniture but it is hard to find cosnsitent cleaning staff I own a home service business and it is something every person is struggling with at the moment but the place was kept really well. I will be trying to stay here again anytime i go to Telluride especially for skiing. Its also super close to the ice skating rink which wasnt mentioned but was super fun! Perfect experience and checkout process was fast and easy i wish we couldve done more during checkout just to show our appreciation but we will show it by giving the hist our consistent returning business! Thank you guys so much 10/10 would stay again!

I wanted to love this place, but everything is slightly off or just okay. Location for mountain village is great and tucked away. The first bathroom cold handle didn't work and the sink was clogged causing it to fill up every time it was used. We had to purchase toilet paper as there was barely half a roll for two bathrooms when we arrived. There were hair ties on the ground in the bathrooms and in the showers which made us feel like the place wasn't cleaned between uses. Finally the primary bed seemed to be an old memory foam that gets extremely hot causing my wife and I to constantly wake up in middle of night sweating although the windows were open letting 40 degree weather come in.

Location, location, location! Couldn’t ask for a more convenient place. Loved staying in Mt. Village with easy access to Telluride via the gondola. Super cute condo, it is small so we were happy it was just the two of us.

Comfortable with good extras, such as steam shower, king bed, well decorated…and 2 full bathrooms a plus. Great for a couple or small family. Would stay there again!

First of all - disregard any negative reviews you see on this rental !
I was there with my son and daughter-in-law and this condo couldn't have been better at fitting our needs. it is nicely furnished, great bathrooms & showers and comfortable beds. It is just a 5 minute walk to shops, restaurants and the gondola down to Telluride. There are 2 lovely patios nicely furnished. I love the fact that it is downstairs right off the street so there aren't any stairs to climb. The owner couldn't have been more friendly or accommodating. The only downside I found is that the kitchen has no stove, but a 2 burner hot plate, which is fine for what we needed, but the sink and refrigerator take up so much space there is not enough "work space". My suggestion to the owner would be to make some sort of cover for about half of the large farm house sink. I would definitely stay there again.

All in all, great experience. The condo was excellent, loved Telluride area. Had a bit of confusion on check-in (never received an email with key code info), but once we tracked down the owner, all was great. He was very accommodating and helpful. Definitely recommend the property.

We really enjoyed our stay here - the location is beautiful, the apartment had everything we needed, and was the perfect home base for our vacation. We were visiting Telluride with our 1 1/2 year old and the home was perfect for our family. I also have to mention how comfortable the beds were which is not something I say lightly!!! The host was super responsive and helped make our stay great. We would love to return!

I don't normally post reviews when things go good but my kids (20 and 24) saw a couple of negative reviews on this property recently after we originally made the booking 8 months ago for our trip this June '23. Their concerns quickly disappeared! We hit the Hosts with several questions and requests in the first 24hrs and they were quick to answer our questions and even drop off some coffee maker filters and AAA batteries for a TV remote. What more can you ask for in a Host! The property was accurately described and the photos were current. We had a nice private patio to enjoy morning coffee and it's a quick 5 minute walk to the Mountain Village center and free gondola ride down to Telluride. Kids loved the high tech steam shower. It doesn't have a full kitchen but we knew that from the description and photos and weren't planning to cook on this trip. It does have a large full size refrigerator which we loaded up with drinks and snacks for the week. It does get a little tight with 5 or 6 people since you just don't have enough space to layout 5 or 6 big suitcases but we made it work just fine. If you're spending a lot of your day inside this property then you're missing the whole point of being in Telluride or Mountain Village. Great value for this area!

The rental started off bad and ended worse. We had contacted the owner originally about the fact that my family was getting in before check in and would need somewhere to store their bags. They assured me it would be fine and that they would take care of it as they lived upstairs to the unit we were renting. When it came time to actually start the rental, not only did they not help, but they had a worker in the unit until after check in time and when we used the door code to drop off their bags he left us a rude message to get out "please get your stuff out of the apartment". They ended up being no help at all.
Then there is the apartment itself. It is small, and had only a hot plate to cook with but the cookware did not work with the cook plate. Dishes were an odd mishmash of things that looked like odd pieces from your grandma's garage sale. The thermostat did not work properly (which we have seen in messages before). It was set to 68 but the temperature on it read 85 and up.
For the price, it was a great disappointment, but then to top it all off, after we left, the own billed us an additional $1000 for supposed damages that we had done. There was a stain on a rug that was covered the entire time we where there (it was by the pull out bed and that bed came out and stayed out until right before we left...no way anything could have spilled on it), and chips along the wall by the front door up to the top of the door that we could not have reached. Worst rental ever

The condo is in an excellent location and has a wonderful steam shower. The host was available for problems and concerns, but not accommodating or sympathetic to the problems we encountered.
We arrived at expected check in time on NYE and the key code to enter was not correct. The host did answer the phone and informed us that the condo was not clean or ready for use. This interrupted our evening plans for dinner, as we had drove over 12 hours to arrive in time to shower and get dressed for the evening. We were allowed to place our luggage inside the condo and a few items in the fridge, while we had to go wait somewhere else for it to be cleaned. The condo was not ready until after 8 pm. The cleaning crew threw away our food, left bags of trash at the door step, and used soap in the trays. We were given two rolls of toilet paper for our week stay. The laundry room was available (if requested in Advance) which we did was not unlocked until 48 hours into the stay. We were not usually able to wash bc the host who lived above the rental had both washers/dryers full of clothes for more than 24 hours at a time. (Horribly inconsiderate). The host must also own at least one baby elephant and a chihuahua as there was constant barking and pounding on the ceiling. Trying to nap after a couple of days of skiing would not be possible for most without ear plugs. Additionally, when I inquired about possible compensation for all the above complaints, I got a lot winded explanation of the economic problems in the world and airline cancellations. He did offer for us to leave with a full refund, knowing that it was difficult to make such arrangements on short notice.
Beautiful condo. Terrible Host!

Property was exactly as advertised and the manager was a pleasure to work with. He was extremely responsive and helpful.
The place was super clean, comfortable, and the large flat screen TV was a huge plus since March Madness was taking place while we were there. The heated bidet toilets were a very nice feature as well.
Only two suggestions for improvement, and the manager said both will be addressed in the near future:
1) There is no exterior lock on the sliding door so it's not possible to secure the unit while out skiing. We stored a few valuables in the car.
2) The shower in one of the bathrooms is a bit of a hassle since there's no shower doors, only a circular curtain that tends to collapse in on you while taking a shower.
Overall, a nice find and we would definitely stay there again.

My wife and I spent 4 days in Telluride and absolutely loved staying at this well furnished and cozy apartment. We could not have picked a more comfortable place to be our home base in Telluride. Our hosts (Neal and Karla) were very responsive and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed to feel right at home. I would recommend this apartment to anyone staying in Telluride.

The condo was what we needed for this trip. The unit has recently been updated and some nice appointments. The bathrooms are fantastic with a steamer shower. The only thing that was tough was the automatic toilets - loved that they were heated but they flushed automatically and LOUDLY so the younger kids would wake in the night if the other used the bathroom. Minor hiccup, but good to know. The showers always had hot water readily available. The kitchen is large fridge, but two burner plug in hot plate is good for making some morning eggs. We did not use the convention microwave often, but if you are looking to make most of your meals, the options are limited. I did make pasta one night on the hot plates. The space is small, but comfortable. The beds are very comfortable for using after a long day of skiing. The location can't be beat and the ability to use the concierge ski service at the Peaks hotel was an absolute perk! Thank you for sharing your space with us.

Nice quiet space next to the Peaks. Owners were kind and very responsive. It’s a little snug and not a full kitchen, but has other redeeming qualities.

First this is a one bedroom with an extra bed in the living room. The property is currently being remodeled and has holes in the walls, the bed is being held up by a rock, and there are countless other imperfections throughout the property. It dose not have a full kitchen. Just a dirty refrigerator and a burner. The overall place is not very clean either. We have stayed at about 20 VRBO properties over the last few years and this is the only negative review I have written. This place was so bad that we did not stay and got a refund. We had to scramble to get a last minute rental for our weekend ski trip. Look elsewhere!

great location, nice folks, however this unit needs a lot of work to finish it up and make it presentable as "new construction" what we rented and what we got were two very different things and I do not feel the price was commensurate to the offerings in the end. I wouldn't discourage people from going to stay here but to be eyes wide open and ask more questions about the place as it isn't very well represented or described and the added expenses if you want to use the hot tub, spa and pool that's mentioned in the add. Do not have high expectations for the fit and finish's and the kitchen until they can do proper finish of the place. this is not ski in ski out as described. however it is a reasonable walk to the village center where you can have a ski valet check your gear so you don't have to haul it in and out. not a bad stay, not bad people, just not clear communication and lacks in overall delivery based on what we paid which was more than it is advertised for.

It was dirty. Bathroom had hair and had not been cleaned prior to our stay. Overall the property needed a cleaning. The area we rented was not secure. A stranger came into the area unannounced startling us. The shower was cold. Our 4 year old screamed the whole time taking a cold shower. Our Daughter in Law who serves in the military and has been deployed mulitple times said it was the worst shower she has ever taken. Family members had to take cold showers before going to a wedding. The photos online show a house that we were all so exciting to sstay in but once we were there in real life it was a huge disappointment due to the lack of cleanliness and that it was open to strangera walking in. The work downstairs made it impossible to feel calm and relaxed like we were looing forward to. A little noise would not have bother us but the consistent pounding was horrible. There was no mention of work being done when we paid for this place and we would not have selected this one had we known. You should have been honest in your add and memtioned it was under construction. We are requesting half of our payment returned due to the condition of the place and the construction going on. We are working people and saved for this experience expecting a relaxing time in the mountains. You didn't provide that.

We loved our house and neighborhood. Close to everything. Nice deck and patio. Lots of space. Well Stocked kitchen. Owner is very friendly and helpful. We moved some furniture around when it was on the way so it didn’t cause any problems. We also rolled away few rugs so we don’t trip on them. Everything was working well and we r happy to rent the same space next time we come. Thank you for your hospitality !

Kitchen is fine! Fireplace and heat were fixed on day 28! Outdoor grill is very nice! The house is dusty and damp! Doors and windows are rotting wood and don’t seal tight! Major leak causing more dampness and moldy smell! Some exposed wiring and outlets that don’t work!

This home is in a great location but does have many issues. We come to mountain village every year so we are familiar with quite a few properties in the area. Thermostats were gone and being worked on. Had to ask owner to replace them because it was in the 30’s overnight and we were freezing. Bbq grill was broken so had to to bring us one that had charcoals. Master shower was clogged and master bathroom outlets didn’t work at all. Was a pain because we had to get ready in other bathrooms. Trash compactor button broken so my husband had to find a tool to use it. Steam showe also didn’t work.
Again great location but issues with the house
Owner was responsive but shower and outlets and trash compactor never got addressed.

Overall we had a great trip due to the beautiful location & easy access to the gondola in Mountain Village.
We had the following problems however:
-Communication Issues: Sunday eve prior to our Sat arrival, we received email stating workers may be building deck and we were offered refund. We searched for comparable rental but none were available w/out spending $2500 more/week. We asked Neal for discount but this was denied. With no other options, we agreed to stay. We requested check-in info twice, heard nothing & finally called Neal Friday night. Once in rental, it was stifling hot. We inquired about this, were told to open windows. Many windows could/would not open or had no screens; the one source of air was shut off due to deck construction. The fan was caked in black dust but we used it because it was unbearable otherwise and we found box fan in a closet. We didn't want to deal with Neal so did not reach out again.
-Construction: workers were nice/respectful. Neal assured us from his June 7th email: "Workmen will only be there during the day, and not every day, and you won't see them at all unless you're curious and open the doors to the basement" and "I don't imagine it will impact your stay except perhaps mentally." They worked on the deck from Sunday-Tuesday; the deck is located outside the windows off the main living area and is where the beautiful view is. They installed the flooring which involved pounding nails and use of power tools and it was loud (naturally). It was disruptive and drove us out of the condo. To say we wouldn't notice, that they'd just be in the basement, was ludicrous. To not offer us a discount on our stay is unethical given we did not have use of the condo as advertised and we were inconvenienced by the both the presence of the workers & the noise and because we could not open the door and have any breeze during a very hot week (no windows are able to be opened in main room).
-Condition of furniture: "comfort sleepers" (pull-out couches) in dens were highly uncomfortable and had zero privacy. Dining room chairs were stained and sagging/uncomfortable.
-Misc: all showers did not drain (water to ankles); only 2 jets worked in hot tub + foul smell from port-a-potty below; kitchen missing many essentials; bizarre bone with tissue on it in closet; condo appears much larger in photos
We have rented many VRBO condos, similarly priced. This is the worst experience we've had so far. Do not rent from this owner.

The owner of the property is apparently so concerned about profit that he failed to inform me of numerous problems with the property or, those that he did disclose, he did so two days before a Sunday arrival. In my opinion, as a formed Code Enforcement Magistrate in a major Florida County, the property is very likely not safe for habitation. I have written a summary of the problems, but it is too long for this review. I will attempt to make it available to VRBO and the Telluride Mountain Village governmental authorities. I will also provide photos and videos of the problems.

Recent trip to Telluride was easy. House was as advertised. Neal was very easy to deal with and very responsive. Nothing bad to say. Walking back up the stairs was difficult for those of us that live near sea level. But the whole town’s that high! Can’t fault Neal for that!!

First off, I am not just a disgruntled renter. We tried working with the owner and he is unwilling to work with us. We are now in the process of seeking legal guidance on how to get our money back due to the terrible living conditions and lack of transparency with this condo. The owner told us the day before we arrived that the condo was under construction. He stated that it was in the basement and it would not affect our stay. However, what he didn’t tell us was that the workers were going to be there until 9:00 every night and had access to the condo the entire time through an open hole in the floor that lead to the basement. Because of this, my wife and kids did not feel comfortable staying in this condo without me there. We also could not leave our teenage daughters alone in a condo at night so that we could go out to eat with our friends. The safety in and of itself should be enough to be unhappy. On top of the construction, the owner did not tell us that there would be no heat in the condo. It took two days for him to get heat working and the condo was freezing. He did send a construction worker over to fix the heat at 10 o’clock on the second full day there. So for the first 48 hours, we had no heat. We received nearly 2 feet of snow while we were there so you can imagine how cold it was outside. When we mentioned this to the owner, he told us that he had put two space heaters in the condo for us to use. As you can imagine, two space heaters or not efficient for heating the entire condo. We also notified him multiple times that the fireplace did not work and we never did get resolution on this. It would’ve been nice to have a working fireplace to help keep us warmA few other issues with the condo were-that the front step to the condo was literally hanging on by a thread and nearly fell off every time it was stepped on. It was a major tripping hazard every time you tried to enter the condo especially when it was covered in snow. This was mentioned to him and never fixed -The condo was filthy and I was scared to walk on the carpet with no shoes. The ceiling fan in the main living area was covered in black dust. I provided photos to the owner with no resolution -there were multiple walls that had sheet rock mud and no paint-many other issuesI have documentation from the owner stating he would give us a partial refund if we could find a different place but there was nothing available. Now he is denying a refund

At our other VRBO, the owner met us on arrival to show us around. We arrived here at night and wandered around for 15 minutes to find the condo. He acted like we should know where everything was. The fireplace didn’t work, assumed our ignorance, and he never came to fix it. He was condescending, acting like we were an inconvenience. Condition of the furniture was appalling. A wall in our bedroom had been repaired but never painted. Excellent location

The layout and location was exactly what I needed for my group. Did have some issues with the WiFi and hot tub (a few other reviews highlighted this as well). Able to remedy the WiFi by the second day.

We enjoyed the visit. The hot tub was clean and bright. The ski valet was amazing. Tomas was a mensch. We'll be back next year. No better place to stay in Mountain Village. Now we're spoiled by the ski valet and anything else will be a disappointment. We'll definitely recommend Crystal 14 to our friends.

We were greeted upon our arrival and were shown our home for a week in Mountain Village. The vacation home was comfortable in most every way. It is within easy walking distance of the Village center and the free gondola. This home is a stand alone structure without any adjoining neighbors or common walls. There are several half-flights of stairs up to he front door. They were not a problem for either of us.
The master bedroom and bed were very comfortable. There were only two of us, it was the only bedroom we used. The adjoining deck with hot tub was used almost every night. Watched the orion meteor shower from the comfort of the tub. The flat screen tv worked well.
The master bath was roomy. Be patient waiting for hot water. It'll come soon enough.
The fireplace was good. I'm used to a WBFP, but the gas logs provided a good ambience and warming radiant heat without the bother of wood and mess. HINT, the gas log switch is about knee high on the right side. Turn it ON and then fan or blow into the fireplace for a soft gas ignition; else gas will accumulate for 10 seconds or more and then ignite with a nice boom.
Parking is not a problem. The enclosed and lockable garage is at street level only about 50 feet from the front door. Our Nissan Titan truck did fit, so any full size car or SUV should, too.
We didn't use it, but there is a great laundry with two washers and dryers in the lower level and a box of soap / bleach there.
The WiFi worked flawlessly and was high speed. Easy to enter the password and use ith our iPhones, iPad, and notebooks we were well connected.
We never did figure out all of the lighting. There are wall switches in unusual places and lighting fort which we NEVER found the switches. It would help is a diagram for the big room, kitchen, and stairway lighting was available, along with labels on the switches. Working the front door combination in the dark was difficult, we couldn't find the switch for the front porch light.
Our overall rating of Excellent was based on our 7-night stay. We took advantage of the special off-season price and will probably do so again in the future. Our first Telluride/Mountain Village vacation was very enjoyable. Having nice and comfortable accommodations made the week that much better.

We ignored the overly-critical reviews and stayed at this unique and beautiful home over the 2011 Thanksgiving Holiday. I am astounded at the rude and uppity attitude of previous guests. If you are looking for complete perfection, good luck. I think it uncalled for to tell people to “stay away” – think if this was your property and source of income! As a frequent traveler, renter and owner of mountain property (near Beaver Creek, CO), I am reviewing this property with many perspective in mind. Our stay was magnificent and the location is ideal. Yes, there are stairs as there are all over Telluride. We cooked a full Thanksgiving dinner and found the kitchen well stocked and a joy to cook and serve at a huge table. We skied and the dial-a-ride service dropped us off right at the garage door. There is a nice spa, great bedding, wonderful windows, and original artwork throughout the home. The extra touches of being greeted at the unit and spa products in every bath were great personalized elements. Any support or dining suggestions was simply a phone call away. If you’re looking for a great location with first class service in a comfortable and large home (this is not a condo), please look past the negativity and book this property.

My wife and I have been spending a good part of the summers in Colorado for the past 18 years. Our stay here last summer was the most enjoyable to date. The condo is very roomy (more like a house), very comfortable, quiet and private. It is convenient and within walking distance to the village center, the gondola and market. Great location...we used our car only twice for the entire month! The condo also has its own private garage which was great for storing our bikes as well. We loved it so much that we are returning for another month's stay next summer.

Rented this condo last winter on an annual week ski trip--only time in many years we have been extremely disappointed by where we have stayed
We found a massive discrepancy between what was presented online and what in fact our experience was.
Picture I had from the online listing was an upscale condo in meticulous condition that would work perfectly for getting home from the slopes to relax.
Our experience did not match this on many levels.
Specific examples:
Door to the dishwasher was falling off and was a major pain to load and use.
Cooked our dinner in the stove for an hour and a half to open it and find out it had not turned on, though we had used the dials properly--kitchen is described as a full chef's kitchen--this is a ridiculous claim given the state of this kitchen.
BBQ on the balcony was filthy, we did a massive clean up on it before we would use it, I would rate its functionality at a 3 out of 10.
The downstairs was simply not a place you would spend any time--the fire place somehow allowed cold air in and this area was simply freezing--we are from northern Canada, so if this was a simple fireplace fix we would have figured it out, this was a dysfunctional fire place that made the downstairs uncomfortable enough that it may as well not have been part of the condo.
In general:
Herein lies the difference between the places we have rented over many years verses this condo--the general feel.
This condo simply felt unloved and unlived in by anyone who truly cared for the place
Things that were in a state of disrepair had not been tended to, and over all this culminated in a general feeling of extreme disappointment at the enormous discrepancy between the image reading about this condo in online ads creates verses the reality of what it feels like to stay here.
Lesson learned.
We will never again rent what is described as a high-end property without due diligence--each of the people I was with agreed this was an extreme disappointment, and fell far short of meeting the expectations we had from how it was described.
I took a few minutes to read over other reviews, and find it interesting to note the owner's responses meticulously taking apart each negative review, insinuating the people writing them do not know what they are talking about.
Bottom line--I do know what I am talking about, this is a clear description of my experience renting this condo, and I am taking the time to forewarn you--move on and find a different property.

Our stay in this condo exceeded all expectations. Plenty of space for my family to enjoy. There was free secure internet access and the rooms were clean and quiet. We loved the kitchen too. Everything is within walking distance, free transportation is available if needed. The scenery is not just a visual, it's right outside the door. Dining and shopping were all close by or a quick ride on the Gondola takes you to the other side of the mountain. We came here to snowboard and really fell for the place. We'll be staying here again next year.
