The overall architecture of this custom-built home is Spanish Californian, with traditional and elegant accents throughout the entire home. This home sits on top of a hill, with breathtaking views of rolling hills, large estates of Fairbanks Ranch, canyons views both in front and back yard with a stream, wildlife, horse trails, hiking paths and more! The vision of this beautifully spacious interior is crisp white walls as you walk into the grand entrance that is welcoming and impressive! Warm wood floors and beams, 20-foot vaulted ceiling combined with a large scaled fireplace, and stone-look console table add touches of splendor. A sectional sofa with hand selected designer fabrics adds softness and comfort in an otherwise formal room. Accent seating and beautifully sculpted cocktail table compete the look for this area. This is a room for hanging out with the family or entertaining with friends.

Due to the location and architectural layout of the home, the vision of this space is a comfortable 5 Star retreat. As the three huge pocket doors disappear into the wall, it’s difficult to determine whether you are indoors or out. With a beautifully landscaped vanishing edge saltwater pool and Jacuzzi in the distance, and gorgeous Spanish traditional tile surround the fireplace, this spot is the place to be used year-round. A custom designed floor to ceiling drapery will close off the space to block out the elements or if you are looking for some extra privacy. There is a large sectional sofa, along with oversized chairs and the console table has 4 additional hidden seats. A nine foot shuffleboard table sits behind the couch welcoming those with a bit of a competitive spirit. A ping pone table is also available in the garage.
Master Suite: Large master bedroom with built in smart TV, surround sound, DVD player, sliding doors with invisible screens that lead out to the Jacuzzi and saltwater pool. Exquisite ceiling to floor black out drapery when a good night sleep is needed or shear drapery when you want to smuggle up on the massage bed and read a book or watch one of your favorite movies.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed this lovely property. Beautiful salt water pool and hot tub and lots of games and activities. We played pickle ball, ping pong, and shuffle board. Our kids loved taking care of the chickens! Everything you might need for cooking is in the well stocked pantry and kitchen. Beds were great and plenty of room for all. Thank you Kathy and Kenyon for sharing your lovely home with us!

Thank you for a wonderful stay! The house, gardens, chickens and wildlife were amazing! We all appreciated the extra touches and Welcome Basket that made us feel at home immediately and of course the lovely ‘welcome sign’ at the front door! This was our 1st trip to San Diego for several of us and it was the PERFECT antidote to some very difficult weather in the UK. We enjoyed seeing the Anza- Borrego desert state park and the wind caves as well. We went to the beach almost every day. We visited Julian for wine tasting. It was always a pleasure to get back to the house for the pool and hot tub!! The chickens have been well cared for and rewarded us with many eggs. With many thanks and best wishes.

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful home! As soon as you walk in you feel at home. The home is very clean and well taken care of. The homeowners were sweet to have a goodie basket waiting for us which included dog treats and a bottle of wine. The backyard has an amazing view and very peaceful and quiet. The chickens were an added perk and was entertaining to feed them and collect the daily eggs. The home is full of entertainment to keep you busy including games for outside as well as inside. We will definitely be going back!

We came out for a family Christmas gathering.
We had 2 from Philly, 4 from Chicago and 2 local from San Diego.
The house was beautiful! The outdoor setting was breathtaking! The house offered so many amenities and perks. The outdoor living area was our favorite room in the house. We gathered there every evening for eating, sporting event on the big screen or just quiet conversation after the kids went to bed.A nice cozy fireplace and warm blankets were most welcome.
The owners decorated the house for the holiday ( inside and outside). They had a Christmas tree ready for us to decorate and provided the ornaments. The. Kids were really excited to do that.
Chickens! …….The cutest silky chickens. The owners asked if we would be interested in feeding the chickens and retrieve the egg. My grandchildren were absolutely enthralled with the thought. I can still hear one of them saying ,girls girls girls we have treats for you.” So much
fun. I mentioned perks …we were able to use the eggs we retrieved for a delicious breakfast .
Dealing with the owners of this property was such a pleasure. They were so helpful and gracious. Always available to answer any question we had. Provided a book with information for just about anything you could think of.
We immediately got the impression that they loved this house and it showed with all the extra touches, in every room in the house.
In that short time we were there we learned to love it too.

I have stayed at this property before but 1st time in this unit. This was the 1st time I had an issue with check in through the security office and it took me about 30 minutes to get into the condo. Description accurate except the pictures showed the 2nd bedroom with 2 beds and it actually has a bed with a trundle.

An amazing host & incredible home! The home was furnished well & very spacious, and had all the amenities we needed & then some! Definitely well worth it for our purposes. We had a big group & were in San Diego for business reasons but this house made it feel like we were on vacation. Everything was very clean, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. The host was extremely communicative with very clear rules & regulations which I appreciated them being very open & upfront about. They added little touches everywhere that made you feel extremely welcome. Overall I would definitely stay here again should the opportunity arise.

The condo was as advertised - well kept and convenient to the beach and the strand. Downtown Oceanside is walkable, as is the pier. The host allowed us to check in early when our travel plans changed slightly. The property grounds are beautiful. The amenities are very nice. We would definitely stay here again.

The condo was clean and modern. The owner went above and beyond. I make a lot of ice tea and thought there was an ice maker, the owner went as far as buying me a bag of ice! We'll stay there again when in Oceanside.

Spent almost 2 weeks in the heaven of San Diego area weather enjoying, among other things, this beautiful house. Kathy is a wonderful host who presents her home to share with apparent joy. It's a pleasure to interact with her. The house could not have been better. Fabulous pool (perfect temperature) among an expansive and comfortable outdoor area. When in the west, a house must have good connectivity between the in and the out. This house has it in spades. Excellent, large sliding and swinging doors brings the out in. Very nice flow through breeze from front to back is highly refreshing. The kitchen has everything, the bedrooms and baths are well outfitted and comfortable. Quality A/V throughout makes closing out a busy day complete. The area is extremely quiet and the home has a nice view of the valley below. Went hiking along its trail and could look up at the house and wave hello. Took the train to Disneyland, the zoo, the beach, Legoland, etc, etc. Don't hesitate.

The house is a bit off the beaten path, but there's access to grocery stores and lots of takeout-friendly restaurants ~15 min away. We spent tons of time enjoying the spa, the pool, and the view: our kids loved caring for the chickens on the days we stayed at the VRBO. The house was clean and lovely and spacious - and well set up for entertaining with 2 dishwashers and 2 dryers. Mattresses and bedding were also great: we all had a good night's sleep, and the kids loved the bunk/trundle beds. Communication with the owners was great, and the trinkets they left for our kids were a huge hit. The house IS full of expensive finishes - so we did try to be very meticulous in caring for everything. We were also caught off guard by landscapers one morning, although they arrived late enough that we were all awake and we were inside the house at the time so they did not disrupt us at all. Overall, this was an unambiguous five-star experience, and I would not hesitate to book this house again!

Amazing gracious home!!
We are so happy to have rented this spectacular home for our wedding week. The setting of this gorgeous gated home is everything we wanted. It’s tranquil and private with an amazing view. We especially enjoyed the easy access to the pool and hot tub area and the master bath, with all its amenities, is like a spa treatment!
We highly recommend this home if you enjoy 5 star hotels but want privacy and room for family and friends.

Lovely Home
The home is a great place to stay for 2 families. It is well stocked, very spacious, great chickens, and a lovely pool and hot tub! We were not aware that there are PETS who live at the property. When we arrived, there were 2 dogs wandering around that belonged to the owner. It also turned out there were cats who live there and it caused 3 of us with allergies to think we had colds all week. The owner came around to charge his car and bring back the cat. The owners were very responsive to a hot tub leak and they did their best to make the stay enjoyable with many personal touches. A lot of their personal belongings are scattered throughout the house.

Comfortable luxury. A great alternative to the crowded beach front homes
A beautiful home, with gorgeous views and fun amenities but not so precious that you’re constantly worried about breaking things. The teenager loved the pool, shuffle board, ping pong and the chickens. The little guy loved having the indoor tv to watch his kids shows while still seeing the adults in the outdoor living room and he was thrilled to find a box of toys to discover. My dad spent as much time in the outdoor living room as he could with the self starting fireplace and amazing views. The hot tub was a great place to unwind after a busy trip. We made great meals and were able to entertain another family with the well stocked kitchen. Beds were comfortable and there were lots of towels for pool and bath. The house is about 6-7 miles off the 5 but about 15-20 minutes due to roads that wind through the hills. Getting just about anywhere is 20+ minutes but it’s a gorgeous drive snd feels shorter each time you do it. We liked the calm away from all the busy beaches. It was perfect R&R. The best of both beach and hills.

AMAZINGLY PERFECT HOUSE
Everything about our week at this property was perfect. Host left a welcome basket, breakfast quiche, gift for our granddaughter, and instructions on everything. We LOVED feeding the chickens, making a fire, playing in the yard, hot tub, and using their well-equipped kitchen. VERY RELAXING AND PEACEFUL! Host was available by text for any questions. Would give it a ten star rating! Can't wait to return.

We booked this beautiful property when our “Big Fat Greek” family came to visit us over the New Years Eve holiday to celebrate our son’s 1st birthday. Since we live in Carlsbad it was a short drive from our home and provided the rest of the family more space as they were able to gather close together rather than if they were to rent separate hotel rooms.
A beautiful and peaceful drive through Rancho Santa Fe takes you to the gated and secluded location. As you pass the gate and drive up to the home you truly sense you are in for something special, the property is breathtaking.
The open floor plan was perfect for gathering and the bedrooms are spaced apart for privacy and have ample en suite bathrooms. The ranch style property does not have any stairs and is very accessible which was an important consideration for us. Great for kids as well!
Although the home does not appear to be a full time rental property the owners do a fantastic job of transforming it into a clean, comfortable and cozy place to stay. Kathy is a joy to work with and her communication, care and attention to detail are top notch.
Our family made some lasting memories and loved every minute of their stay, highly recommended!

We decided to spend our Thanksgiving weekend with family at the beach this year. This unit was clean and is located in one of the best areas of the North Coast complex! All amenities you could want from an air fryer to a fully stocked kitchen with spices. Beds were comfortable and plenty of towels for all for the beach or pool. Communication with owner was great and I appreciated her checking in with us to make sure our check-in went smoothly. They put a lot of effort into their place and it shows. We will be back in the future!
