Such a great and relaxing stay. We spent most of our time on the porch and dock. Such a nice escape from the heat and humidity of home. Our Highland vacation is a highlight of our summer. Thanks for a great cabin with everything we needed.

We enjoyed this property to the fullest. It is charming.
Finding the right driveway was a little tricky but after that, all went well.
Perhaps a clearer sign at top of driveway would help.

Brooke hit it out of the park with our stay in Highlands.
She provided perfect suggestions for activities, which we loved. The cabin was perfect for our family; adult children with grandchildren under 3yrs. She had all the necessities for the baby and toddlers. Each bedroom was super nice... all 3 of them ! We cooked in two nights and had everything we needed for the menus. the dock was an added touch, and the outdoor firepit was another bonus! My adult children were hesitant about this trip competing with HHI, and this cabin and our hostess made it a memorable stay and they can't wait to come back. We were all impressed with the small details and attention to making our stay perfect. I can't thank Brooke enough . xoxo

We loved our trip to Highlands. The cabin was perfect. It's near the water, but not too close for the little ones. We hiked every day and say 8 different waterfalls, and the food was amazing. We also canoed and had s'mores by the nice fire pit and cooked steaks on the grill the first night. I would highly recommend this cabin for families. The girls loved the porch bed swing, and the kitchen table is perfect for games post-dinner. We would stay here again.

We LOVED this beautiful property in Highlands NC! We were here to celebrate my 60th birthday, and the cabin layout is perfect for privacy, with each bedroom/bath on a separate floor. The living area is beautiful with a stone wood burning fireplace, comfortable seating, and dining area. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking. Our favorite place is the covered porch, which remained dry despite a lot of intermittent rain. We were able to enjoy the fire pit the first night, and my son and his gf enjoyed the canoe on departure morning. The grounds are well kept and charming, with stone walls and walkways. Loved every minute! Will definitely return!

We spent 2 delightful weeks in the cabin and loved every minute. The cabin is fully equipped (even extra batteries), quiet and very comfortable. Being in the woods, on a lake in which we fished and canoed, and yet only 5 minutes by car from downtown Highlands, made it the perfect location for the area.

The perfect getaway to celebrate!
I just finished cancer treatment, so I booked this stay to celebrate with the friends that held me up during a very difficult year. This place was perfect! The energy was so comforting in the cabin, and we had everything provided for an easeful and relaxing weekend. We even talked about how we would love to come back yearly and make this our “spot” for yearly celebrations of being cancer free! The host was very helpful and provided us with all the info we needed to enjoy the town also. Loved this stay & looking forward to visiting again!

Amazing week on Lake Sequoyah
After a hiccup during check-in (which I doubt is typical), we settled in for a fun and relaxing family vacation in this lovely home. We found the property immaculate--so clean, y'all. Check-out was a breeze. The house is beautifully appointed while still retaining the mountain cottage feel and it's perfectly situated for outdoor excursions, lazy relaxation, or exploring town. We canoed on the lake and fished off the pier. We took turns lounging on the porch-swing bed. The fire pit was a hit! The kids (ages 9-17) loved the house, which they rated tops for everything from the natural surroundings to the fast wi-fi. My favorite feature? The metal roof during the rainy Wednesday we had. Perfect for napping! It was a wonderful week.
Notes for future guests: From the bottom of the driveway to the Highlands main intersection is a four-minute drive. The beds sleep so comfortably. Many vacation homes have cheap linens on the beds, but this home's beds were cozy nests for all of our sleepers. The laundry area is a small top/bottom model. We have a big family and have to wash on almost all trips. This unit is quick and efficient.

Great Winter stay!
We were very impressed with the property - a cozy cabin that feels secluded but is only minutes from downtown Highlands. The small lake is quiet and beautiful and accessible from the property's backyard / small dock. Everything was well stocked and clean. We will certainly return during warmer months to enjoy more of the outdoors.

Wonderful week in beautiful cabin on lake.
What a wonderful cabin in the trees close to the lake with a big canoe, fire pit and large indoor fireplace, three nice bedrooms and a fourth room for kids with two twin beds and toys for them to play with. Beautiful location with full kitchen and kitchenware for meal prep if desired. Highly recommend.

Relaxing Mountain Cabin
This was our 2nd visit to the Highlands area, last year in Cashiers, and thoroughly enjoyed the Sequoya Lake cabin.
The cabin is very well equipped, with everything you could need in the kitchen, comfortable beds and hotel quality bath towels. We loved just sitting on the spacious porch and watching all the ducks in the lake, reading in the rocking chairs or relaxing on the swinging day bed.
We stayed in for dinner several evenings and took advantage of the charcoal grill, which is so much better than most of the other gas grills in other rentals that we have stayed in. We also tried out the large fire pit and went for a nice canoe ride on the lake.
I would definately recommend this cabin and the only inconvenience was when the Cable/internet went out a few times. But Brooke warned us of this so it wasn't bad.
There are so many things to do in the area too, it is a great place to visit. With all the hiking trails in the National Forest surrounding Highlands, we tried 5-6 different areas. Check out the Highlands Botanical Gardens too and learn about the unique rain forest on the Highlands plateau.
There are several excellent restaurants in Highlands for a special evening out.

Highland joy
Beautiful cabin with warm touches. The swing bed in the porch was made for reading and relaxing. The grandkids enjoyed fishing from the dock and hiking in the surrounding mountains . We found very good family style restaurants in the area. I would definitely go back and rent this cottage. My only caution is the driveway is narrow and difficult to drive down . That comes with the terrain not the owners fault .

Perfect Highlands Getaway!
We couldn't have loved this cabin more! The house is a very, very short drive to downtown Highlands (which seemed hard to find as we sifted through other rental options) but also feels totally secluded among the trees. We loved being right on Lake Sequoyah and used the canoe often.
We were traveling with our three children (ages 7, 5, and 3) and could not have asked for better family accommodations in Highlands. From the cute bunk room and toys to all the gear (high chairs, bed rails, and more) we immediately felt right at home.
The owners have done a fabulous job of creating a comfortable, inviting home away from home. We hope to visit again!

Great, relaxing weekend
Great cabin with a wonderful covered porch to sit out and enjoy the views. Being so close to the lake was fabulous and it was close to downtown Highlands. The driveway was a bit complicated, especially for 2 cars! We worked it out though!

Amazing stay in Highlands
This was our third visit to Highlands but our first with the entire fam (including our dog). The cabin was perfect. It looks even better than the pictures and is so incredibly cozy and well-appointed. We had everything we needed for a wonderful vacation. Our youngest girls teared up when we were leaving this morning. They said they want to live in the cabin. ;) I'm not going to lie, the master bed is so unbelievably soft, I could seriously get used to sleeping in it. The tips that Brooke left in the binder were so helpful; even on the rainy days we had plenty to do. The fire pit, the canoe, the toys, the kitchen, the fireplace, the back porch with the bed swing--we loved it all! My kids (and husband) have already mentioned coming back to this lovely, charming, unforgettable cabin. Thanks to Brooke and Kevin for a lovely stay!

Serenity on Lake Sequoyah!
Beautiful cabin perched on the hillside overlooking Lake Sequoyah! Enter the cabin into the family room where you are greeted by a large stone fireplace and a vaulted two story ceiling. The cabin has three levels with plenty of sleeping options and a bathroom on each level. The up to date kitchen is well appointed with everything you might need for food prep. A long harvest table can be found in the main room for indoor dining and a picnic table on the back deck for outdoor dining. The roomy deck off the back of the cabin also has a BBQ, additional seating and an outdoor sleeping bed suspended from the ceiling like a porch swing. What a great spot to curl up and read, listen to the wildlife or take an afternoon nap! A stone firepit down below makes a perfect spot for more after-dinner relaxation. S'mores anyone? And, the location cannot be better. A short drive or walk down the hillside and your at one my favorite restaurants in town-On the Veranda. If you want a more adventurous mode of transportation, you can canoe from the cabin to the shores of the restaurant! The cabin is only minutes from downtown Highlands with all of its great shopping and dining. The cabin is perfect for large families or a romantic getaway. Many thanks to the Henze family for opening up this wonderful property for others to enjoy!

Fantastic place, great location, accurately described, helpful host
We spend a week this spring in the Henze cabin with our two kids and older parents. Getting our folks down the stairs out front required an arm or two (there are no railings), but once inside they could stay entirely on the first floor, which was excellent. The beds are extremely high quality and comfortable, the kitchen was well appointed with real cooking gear, not temporary stuff, and everything was clean and in excellent repair. Only bummer was that shortly before we arrived someone stole their canoe! This disappointed my 9-year-old angler, but he still had a great time casting from the dock. Lovely place. Highly recommend.
