What a nice place! What a great location to vacation with your family. The house was beautiful, and we appreciate the obvious upgrades to the home. If you have four-wheel drive vehicle, with permit, you can just hop in your car for a few minutes' drive to the beach access or just a short walk to the access. With neighborhood pool, hot tub and large decking there was too much to do for one week. We love it...Thank you!

We had a great stay in this house with plenty of room for everyone. The house was very clean and had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. The decks were great for relaxing in the evening after a day of activities.

Between the Sound and Sea was a nice house for our family beach week. The house was clean and in good condition for the most part with modern amenities. It was not as close to the ocean or sound as the description indicated. Communication with the owner was great!

My mother, brother, cousin and her husband were very comfortable in the house. It had plenty of room so that we didn’t feel we were on top of each other. The house was clean, communication with Michelle was timely, and access to the house was simple. We loved being in Avon. Would rent again!

The house is in a great location in a quiet neighborhood but close to the sound, the ocean and lots of restaurants. The house wasn’t the cleanest (we were asked to not wear shoes inside and all of our socks turned black walking around), but it is dog friendly so I guess that’s the cost. There were quite a few rules and some of the furnishings were outdated (like ceiling fans in the rooms that were rickety and loud), but it was nicely equipped and a great size for our needs.

This was our first ever vacation home rental, and needless to say it not disappoint. Michelle was very informative, helpful, friendly, and made the whole thing easy from check in to check out. No one bothered us the entire trip, the house is very well equipped for a large family of 8 and has plenty of amenities. Located close enough to the important stuff like beach, sound, pool, orv access, a 24hr grocery store etc. The wife and I spent a couple evenings alone on the sound doing some fishing and drinking, truly was a relaxing and enjoyable stay. We look forward to the next visit

Loved our stay at this home! The property was kept very clean and the perfect size for our group of six. The kitchen had all the equipment we could've asked for and hot tub was massive. Our host, Michelle, was very good at communicating and even walked us through a minor repair on the faucet when its batteries went out. The home is in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood about a two minute drive from the beach. Really enjoyed our stay here!

House was awesome! Great amenities and views! Was even decorated for Christmas. I prepared Christmas dinner there and they had all the pots and pans I needed. Host was great.

I not so sure we would stay here again, nice place but we have another regular place in Buxton we like better! Needs new sheets, some control issues and sour smelling towels, comfortable place, liked the decore and sectional, very spacious!

Family Christmas Getaway
This stay was perfect for our family. The house had everything we could have needed and more! We ranged in age from 65-1 years old and Michele and Lonni provided us with games, kitchen supplies, bedding, TVs and entertainment for us all. We stayed 5 days and never had to leave the house! We had great communication with the hosts and will look forward to staying with them again. We highly recommend this property!

Our family of 4 and cousin's family of 4 were looking for a short term reasonable rental in Avon for a fall trip. This property ended up being perfect! The main living space was the perfect size and setup for us all to hang out comfortably. We love to cook our own meals and the kitchen was roomy and modern. The house was spotless and the owner went above and beyond expectations to take care of our requests. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone visiting Avon or the surrounding area.

Everything was great! The house and location was wonderful! The Hostess Michelle was fabulous and always there to help with any questions we had. This rental accepted pets and we were able to bring our dog, if this home has had pets before you could not tell!! It was so clean! The kitchen was fully stocked with whatever you needed! Thank you again Michelle for being an awesome hostess!

We took the house for a reunion of out 4 adult children and our 5 year old granddaughter. We needed a pet friendly rental (our 14 year old Golden Retriever had a tough time outdoor stairs to get up to the house and down the the ground - but in her younger days would have had a blast) - and having a community pool and shopping walking distance was ideal.
Avon is a quiet, almost sleepy town with good restaurants and quiet beaches - not a party town - which was fine for our purposes. The location is perfect for a family vacation on the outer banks. The access to the beach is easily walkable - although we drove to drop off our gear and parked the vehicles at the community pool. The beach was practically all our own - despite it still being August, 90 ° and clear skies the entire stay! The house really is well stocked and made us feel right at home.
The property is clean and comfortably decorated - but not pristine or in any way ostentatious - all the evidence of being lived in and taken care of by the owners. Michele (owner) was eager to help and make our stay comfortable. She was accessible by phone/text to answer questions, solve mysteries and address concerns. If you bring a dog - be aware that the brush around the sandy property is thorny and there are small cactus plants with ferocious needles - you will want to get acquainted with where it's safe to walk in daylight - steer them clear of the rough patches. The lakes around the community are pretty - but signs warm if possible alligators - so not for swimming.
If you prefer the quiet waters of the sound side of the island - the Haulover Day Use area is about a five minute drive - has parking, showers and restrooms and lots of room to stretch out to swim, kayak, paddle board and relax!
Final notes: former renters had left menus for recommended take out food and you should check the locations - one was 40-minutes and another more than an hour away!! There are plenty of great local choices - some in walking distance.
If you're looking for a dog friendly comfortable place with 4- Bedrooms, lots of room to stretch out and great access to the natural beauty of the outer banks - this will fit your bill.

Peaceful stay in Avon!
My family was looking for a peaceful / restful place to vacation. Avon certainly offered what we want wanted. The house was in a great area. Easy access to the beach, grocery shopping and the Avon Pier for fishing. Our favorite time of day was at dinner when we all sat in the screened in porch and had dinner and conversation. We also enjoyed playing some of the games that were available thanks to the owner. The owner was always easy to reach and very helpful when we had questions. Special shout out to Lester!

The property is reasonably priced for a vacation home in OBX during high season. It is cleaned between guests but I highly doubt the owner or manager has set foot there the entire season. This kind of neglect results in a series of problems: trash on the property, sand and food under furniture, burned out lightbulbs, closet doors off their tracks, smoke detectors hanging by wires, hair on the sheets, etc. It is not surprising we found two cockroaches. I highly doubt the claims that they are doing extra sanitizing given the fact that the regular cleaning is neglected beyond the basics. Attempts to contact the manager went unanswered. The place is in need of a serious deep clean before additional guests stay there.

Nice vacation - nice area of homes
We had a lot of fun in the outer banks. The house is nice and the location is quiet. Hot tub was a big plus. I would have given 5 stars if the floors weren’t sandy and the screened in porch didn’t have shellfish left on it upon arrival and the whole upstairs smelled like seafood for the first two days we were there. Cleaning company could definitely do a better job!

Michelle was an outstanding host & the property was top notch. When we vacation we enjoy being "away from it all" so Avon was the perfect part of OBX for us to visit especially during the off-season. We didn't see/hear a single neighbor when enjoying the deck or hot tub! The electric fireplace was an added bonus: both throwing a little heat as well as providing some ambiance. Being able to walk to the beach or Food Lion was extremely convenient. This area is about an hour away from the hub/entry of OBX so if you're interested in outlet shopping, visiting the dunes or Wright Bros memorial then it'd be best to pack a lunch & make a day of it. I highly recommend enjoying a peaceful break at Haulover Day Use Area when the wind has died down; Pamlico Sound is stunning. Overall, this was our first visit to OBX & we'll certainly be back to explore more during the shoulder-season.
