Casa Mango has been described by travelers as the “perfect blend of upscale and outdoor living”. The villa resides on the lower part of a hill towards the north end of Santa Teresa, offering both privacy and panoramic ocean views from every room. This newly painted and freshened up 2,200 sq ft villa is only a 150 meter (5 min.) walk to the beach in a more quiet section of town, yet still close to great restaurants/bars/supermarket. Just refinished a gorgeous infinity pool with ocean/jungle views. During mango season, you can pick mangos in the yard or watch the monkeys come in for breakfast. Keep your eyes on the horizon for whales passing by. Its whale season during the months of June to December, so now is a great time to see them!
The house features custom hand-crafted furniture and each bedroom boasts ocean views, private baths and luxury high thread count linens. There are two spacious bedrooms One upstairs bedroom has a King size bed and the other bedroom has two Queen sized beds. The house has a covered outdoor dining area as well as a terrace and sun deck on the first floor, plus a covered terrace on the second floor complete with a work space. A barbeque grill is next to the kitchen and pool.
Imagine waking up to the sound of the ocean and having your morning coffee (Costa Rican of course!) from any one of the terraces, while watching the capuchin monkeys pick mangos for their breakfast from the grove on the property. You can see the waves breaking before you head out for a surf. Spend the day enjoying Santa Teresa’s secluded white sand beaches, turquoise water, and wildlife. Santa Teresa is known for its world-class surf that breaks consistent year-round. Later, end a great day by watching the most incredible sunset right at the house; you may never want to leave once you've seen the 180 degree sunset view from Casa Mango.
If you do decide to venture out, Santa Teresa’s unique international influence inspires world-class cuisine served by over 50 restaurants throughout town. Entertainment can be enjoyed most nights from acoustic musicians to bands and DJ’s performing at the local bars and beaches. Santa Teresa manages to be both lively and sleepy, offering the perfect vacation for all types of travelers.

'We loved beautiful Casa Mango! If you like spectacular beaches, great restaurants, and wildlife in your back yard, then you'll love it too. We saw a coati, capuchin & howler monkeys plus funky squirrels without even leaving the house. On our morning walks, we saw an ocelot, more monkeys, lizards, and other wildlife. And if you've never HEARD howler monkeys, you're in for a treat! This part of Costa Rica is quite isolated, so you're not going to find it to be touristy at all, but the area is great for the independent traveler. If you like to surf, this is your place too. We just liked soaking up the rays on the beach, then going back to Casa Mango for some sort of drink from the blender, often involving mangos. The house is gorgeous -- a perfect blend of upscale and outdoor living. While there, we took a day trip to Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve, which is maybe an hour drive away. Near Cabo Blanco we visited Montezuma, a funky little town on the water with great bars. But we mainly stayed in the St. Teresa/Mal Pais area - it's paradise! ENJOY!'

Such an incredible trip. Casa Mango is located towards the northern end of Santa Teresa, which is perfect for having easy access to everything the town and beaches have to offer without staying right in the middle of it.
Kristi was an absolutely incredible host. Always very responsive, before and during our trip, she gave us several recommendations and helped us book a few things while we were there. The house, view and pool are all amazing. Highly recommended!

So many great things about the property, but the deck sits at the height of the tree tops from just down the hill. Tons of birds and wildlife to entertain you with during morning coffee.

We found the house was for the most part as described. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to other people except for two major qualifiers. The first was a septic system that was "delicate" with written house instructions that required us to put all used toilet paper in a trash can next to the toilet and the second was the lack of a washer/dryer. Had I been aware of either of these conditions prior to rental, we WOULD NOT have rented this house. It would have been a deal breaker. The house itself, aside from the septic and lack of a washer/dryer was as described and well suited for three couples.

We loved Santa Teresa so much we will be coming back for sure! Kristi the property manager is FANTASTIC!
The property is beautiful, the steep hill is a tough hike. Renting ATV’s was our best move.
The beach is spectacular!! The restaurants were so surprisingly healthy and delicious.
Most importantly, the people of Costa Rica are phenomenal!

Our family of four stayed at Casa Mango for a week in December. The view from the house takes your breath away, and Casa Mango itself is beautiful and comfortable. Kristi is an incredibly helpful and responsive host.
The house is located at the more quiet northern end of Santa Teresa and is a short steep walk up the hill from the stunning beach.
I would recommend renting a 4WD car. The main street of Santa Teresa, filled with delicious, amazing restaurants and great boutique shops, is unpaved and without side walks, so driving and walking is not for the faint of heart.
Our favorite meal was in Montezuma, at Playa De Los Artists, overlooking the beach in Montezuma. One of the best meals I’ve ever had! (There is a hike to the waterfalls nearby, also).

We never stayed here. When we came to check in the house was under construction: windows being installed, fixtures being installed, toilets being installed, trash on beds, people frantically cleaning. Owner host never refunded me. They left me and my kids and husband stranded trying to scramble for another place to stay during Thanksgiving week. Very bad business they should be ashamed. Now off to fight for my money back!!!

We had an amazing time and this villa exceeded our expectations! The sunsets from the infinity pool, spectacular! A short walk to the beach, the villa is on a steep hill which was always fun on the way back - we are a bunch of fit women so we jokingly timed our walks up and checked our heart rates. If you are out of shape it might be a bit challenging.
We were 15 min from the gym, close to the grocery store and restaurants. Would go back in a heartbeat!!! Kristi was fast to reply and answer questions :)

Perfect House and Location
We loved Casa Mango. We arrived in the middle of the night in a torrential downpour so the road up to the house and driveway seemed quite daunting but in daylight and no rain, you get used to it. You def need an ATV for the true experience though. So much easier to get around. The house was lovely. Very clean and Kristi was awesome. I asked so many questions and she was always responsive and kind. The monkeys greeted us every morning and the pool was key for post activities and pre dinner. We traveled in the rainy season but it was gorgeous weather. It rained only a little every day or night. We absolutely fell in love with this property and town!

Amazing view
Casa Mango is on hill overlooking the rainforest and ocean. It is high enough from the noise of the street but close enough to walk to the beach and restaurants. My kids loved having a private pool and the view is amazing. The host is super responsive and helpful too.

Magical Casa Mango
Casa Mango was unbelievably beautiful, the view and house itself were INCREDIBLE! Beyond the aesthetics of the property, we loved our host Kristi. She was very friendly and went out of her way to accommodate us.
The only thing I would caution folks on is the driveway- it is steep steep steep! It’s not ideal for those who are physically challenged. The house is close to the beach and really yummy restaurants… we enjoyed the leg workout that the incline gave us after big dinners out :)
Renting quads is a great way to go if you want to zip around town and explore neighboring beaches- Kristi was kind enough to arrange the reservation.
10/10 recommend- already daydreaming about coming back.

Perfect Retreat - surf & relax at the edge of town
A perfect retreat - totally recommend it 100% to access surf, food, adventures, nature and relax poolside with a view!
PROS
Kristi was very attentive to any and all questions we had about the property itself to sharing her fav local recommendations. She helped us organize some adventure and was prompt to reply to any Q's throughout our stay. You’re not just booking the house but her amazing customer services!
The property is beautiful & extremely peaceful at the end of town just far enough away from the street noise yet close enough for easy access to food & surf. We saw monkeys commute over the driveway almost daily, tons of butterflies, birds and bugs straight out of Pixar films! Random visits from the neighborhood dogs wandering in were welcomed by us but may be a bother to some. AC was great in each room and pool/ patio space were all perfection. You can check the surf near Rockamar right from the house which became our morning routine and go to spot for surfing. House was clean and tidy with regular house & pool cleaner.
Highlights for us were pineapple/ coffee upon arrival, horseback riding up north, renting ATV’s to go to Montezuma falls, Tortuga island adventure and sunset cocktails at Rocamar. All the food at every restaurant we went to was amazing. Santa Teresa has a huge selection of fresh vegan/ veg./ gf in town for those with dietary concerns.
CONS
The things I would have hoped for at $450 a nite were better pillows thru out the house and more than one each in the master bedroom. A dresser/ clothing storage so we could fully unpack. There is a couple rods and one simple shelf for both to unpack into in the master. I ended up with my suitcase on the wet bar outside the master bedroom and the fam had their suitcases on extra bed or the floor. BYO pillow and you’ll love this place!!

Beautiful property with stunning views. We loved the patio and infinity pool.
We really enjoyed the property. Communication with Kristy was easy. The driveway to the house is steep - definitely get a 4x4 if renting.

Wonderful home!!
We had an excellent week in Santa Teresa. The home was more than we expected. The sunsets are remarkable. Kristi was wonderful and arranged, drivers, snorkeling and fishing excursions. She checked on us daily and was available to answer any questions we had. A rental car is a must and I suggest using the Budget in Mal Pais Beach they were easy to work with. We loved exploring the back roads between Montezuma and Santa Teresa. Also, you must eat at Bruskas and The Bakery. Thank you for sharing this home with us.

Great house! Much closer to the beach than I thought it was. Close to restaurants and shops and groceries and surf! Thank you!

Costa Rican Paradise
Our experience was amazing. Kristi (the property manager) went above and beyond by answering tons of questions and helping us organize a shuttle to and from the airport, as well as organizing our ATVS to be dropped off for us the morning after we arrived and scheduling our surf lessons. The home was beautiful, clean, and exactly as it was represented in the posting. Our location was super central to enjoying the restaurants and shops of Santa Teresa, but was also super close to the big sandy and more surf/swim appropriate beaches of Playa Hermosa. We were also in very drivable proximity to Mal Pais Ziplining, hiking in Montezuma Falls, taking part in a day trip to Tortuga Island, and walking through Cabo Blanco national reserve. Lots of wildlife surround the house, howler monkeys, beautiful birds, red squirrels were excellent entertainment while utilizing the spacious patio and larger then anticipated infinity pool. Best sunset view in the area was from our patio!! Will want to return! It truly was paradise. Thanks again to Kristi for all of her assistance.

Our second home in Costa Rica!
Our 3 girls were given an option to vacation anywhere and they chose to go back to Casa Mango where they experienced Costa Rica for the first time 8 years ago. The home was updated with an infinity pool and stronger wifi but other than that it have remained true to its beauty. Easy walk down the hill to our beach or just ATV north or south to find your own. The manager was very attentive and assisted us with questions. The surfing is unsurpassed with breaks for beginners to pro, just ask locals for best spots based on your ability. The Howler monkeys troupe visited us every day and gave quite a fun show when they eat the mangos surrounding the house.
We will return to Casa Mango again and again.

Awesome Trip to Casa Mango
Our family recently returned from a week stay in Santa Teresa at Casa Mango. We had an awesome time, the house was great, the perfect house for beach vacation. Great views and we loved the pool. The house manager, Kristi, was great. She was there to answer all of questions and assistance us with any reservations we needed and was a wealth of local knowledge. We are definitely planning a return trip

Our Home Away From Home!!!!
We were extremely please with this villa and it’s location. Kristi, the property manager, was very accommodating. She helped us set up three different masseuses at the villa and gave us several options for a chef to come and cook for us at the villa as well. The grocery store is less than a 1/4 mile away, which is super convenient for runs to grab fresh drinking water and other supplies. The view of ocean and sunset were awesome. The pictures do it justice. The AC in all bedrooms worked great. The privacy was excellent on all four sides and we felt extremely safe while at home and out on adventures. The internet was great, especially upstairs in master bedroom area where router is located (10.4 mbps download, 2.3 mbps upload).
I do wish there had been dressers with some type of drawers or cubby holes to place our clothing. Each bedroom had only a bar to hang clothes with no place for the rest of our clothes. We ended up having to place piles of clothes on the floor. I’m not one to live out of a suitcase and like to unpack. Having something to place our belongings in would have been very helpful.
The outdoor grill was great and the washer and dryer both worked as well. The infinity pool was high on the list of reasons for my rental and it lived up to its expectations. The lighting outside and around the pool was also awesome. The pool guy, the maintenance guy and the maid were super responsive with any of our needs and Kristi was always available to coordinate and accommodate in anyway we needed.
The bedrooms were nice and spacious and the kitchen was well stocked. We even had coffee, milk, sugar, and a bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived late in the evening after the grocery store had closed. There’s nothing like waking up to a fresh pot of Costa Rican coffee to get your first day started!
We were extremely pleased and will definitely rent this property again next year!!!
We miss this fabulous home already and wish we could have stayed another month!!! Maybe next time!!!

Amazing View, Great Villa
Our family of 6 adults traveled to the Mal Pais/Santa Teresa area for the 7th time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at another great home. Casa Mango was the perfect size for us and had all the amenities you could ask for...comfortable beds, A/C in every bedroom, washer and dryer (don't over pack all those clothes you thought you were going to wear!), well-equipped kitchen and outside grill, and of course the infinity pool with deck overlooking the Pacific (amazing sunsets and stargazing!). Kristi was gracious, attentive and responsive to all our requests and actively maintained the property i.e. notifying plumber to address upstairs bathroom issue, the electrician for the lights for the pool and had more water delivered to the pool. Don't worry about the required damage deposit, totally refunded in timely fashion upon request. And yes, plenty of wildlife visits the area surrounding the house: iguanas, raccoons, lots of different birds and of course the howler monkeys! The location of the house is walking distance to a beach for swimming and surfing and just a 5 minute drive from one of our favorite beaches, Playa Hermosa and there are nearby tidal pools for exploring. Having Hacienda mercado within walking distance is a big plus too if you prefer to prepare your own meals. If you're looking for a great local tour guide (born and raised in Mal Pais) or rent quads, surf boards, go horse back-riding, zip-lining or arrange a fishing trip, Adrian Nunez at Ollie's Adventures by Ronnie's I is your man! Pura Vida!

Fabulous villa with fantastic views
My husband and I rented Casa Mango for about a week and absolutely loved it. The outdoor living space is fantastic and we spent most of our time on the deck and in the pool. The location is great, close to town but far enough up to be quiet and away from the dusty road. The only problem we had with noise were some barking dogs, but I blame the monkeys that seemed to be taunting them. The location is also perfect for watching sunset over the Pacific. It was nice to have a/c in the bedrooms but it was also cool enough with the ocean breeze that we really didn't need it much and mostly just left the windows open. This house also has screens, which seems to be a bonus in Costa Rica. Kristi is also a fantastic property manager and was very responsive when we needed anything. If you haven't been here before, the house can be a bit tough to find in the dark but Kristi rescued us (more than once) and is a delightful host. Good birdwatching, nice furnishings, comfy bed, really no complaints. We would definitely rent this house again.

What a vacation!
Our family had an amazing stay at Casa Mango in Santa Teresa! Pia was very helpful leading up to our arrival, and Kristi totally took care of us the entire week, booking our surf lessons, snorkeling trip, fishing outing, zip-lining, dinner reservations. We are a family of five (kids ages 10, 8, and 6) and the house was perfect. The pool was great, especially during the hot mid-day. The location allowed very easy access to the local beach (a 1 minute drive), the grocery store (also 1 minute via car), and all of the incredible restaurants on the main road. We would personally recommend either renting a car or ATV's, and Pia and Kristi were happy to help us with this as well. We couldn't have had a better time, and will definitely go back and stay at Casa Mango.

Pacific Ocean Bliss
We would stay in Casa Mango again. The location is perfect. Yes, the drive up to the house is steep, but it puts you above all the dust from the main road. The view is like out of a movie and we watched the sunset from the terrace every night. There were only two of us in the house but it didn't feel too big. The air conditioning worked well but in the master bedroom it was noisy and they told us they planned to fix it. The pool was refreshing to come home to after a day out exploring. It was very easy to shop for groceries and water and nice to have a kitchen. The outdoor grill worked well. Pia and Camila were extremely responsive and even set up Spanish lessons for my husband!

Perfect house for us!
From the beginning, Pia & Vanessa were great to work with. They responded quickly to my questions and concerns. The house actually looks better than the pictures on their site...what a nice surprise! Everything worked out well for the 7 of us adults. Our favorite part was relaxing and hanging out in the infinity pool, lounging on the deck and watching the monkeys swing from tree to tree. Despite the heat & humidity in town, there was always a gentle breeze out on the deck. We had one house cleaning and one pool service, were provided with one large container of drinking water...after that, you are on your own. The location is close to restaurants and grocery stores. Glad we rented a car...it's a steep hill up to the house. Each bedroom had a perfect working ac unit. Wifi was effective. Mucho gracias for all your attentive care to our stay. We highly recommend this home!

Look no further...this is the house for you!!
Casa Mango was perfect for our 5 night stay. It's well appointed, and truly has everything you need. The views from the house are amazing, and the infinity pool is a great spot to relax and cool off. I agree with an earlier review that the pictures don't do the house justice. Every bedroom has it's own controllable AC unit and you also have access to Wi-fi on the property...both of which were great amenities. Our stay at the house was perfect...we never felt unsafe, and Pia, Josie, and Camila were all great to work with. All very attentive and very helpful with our travel details. A "must do" in my opinion at the house is breakfast outside on the patio. It's a great way to enjoy the scenery and the wildlife that Costa Rica has to offer. Thanks for everything Casa Mango...we're already planning our next stay!

Santa Teresa's Hidden Gem
This House was absolutely perfect! My husband and I met in Costa Rica, married at Casa Capitan across the streeet and came back to find this Paradise with some friends. Waking up in your AC room to Howler monkeys followed by a nice dip in the infinity pool and enjoying the magical view of the ocean and jungle while enjoying a cup of Costa Rica's Coffee was the Best! We have stayed in a lot of places in Costa Rica and this one was just what we needed. The staff is friendly and the location is superb. Thank you for an amazing week away from city life.

Couldn't have asked for anything more!
Casa Mango is a beautiful home with everything you would ever want from a vacation rental. The location is perfect, just right outside of the busiest part of town and just a quick walk to the beach but still maintains a quiet environment. The best way to describe this house is that the pictures don't do it justice. The views are breathtaking and the house is large, comfortable, safe, and very group friendly. Josie, the caretaker, was very accommodating and did her best to help us in any way possible! We really can't say enough good things about this house.

Relaxation at it's finest!
Casa Mango was fabulous! We can across the house last minute and the available dates worked out perfectly with our stay in Santa Teresa. My husband and I had the house to ourselves and it was the perfect getaway… just far enough up the road for total peace and quite but just a minute ATV ride into town and the beach. We watched the howler monkeys every morning from the pool and sat in the same spot to watch the most amazing sunsets in the evening. Such a great location and the beach right in front was a great surf spot with room to park the ATV. The house is the perfect size for a small family or 3 couples with all the right amenities. We can't wait to rent Casa Mango again on our next visit to Santa Teresa this summer! Thank you Josie, you were great and so helpful, look forward to seeing you again soon!
