This property was perfect for our Maine vacation. The house was clean and well maintained. I loved to look out at the water from the kitchen table. We saw deer nightly munching on the grass. I would highly recommend this place!

Very relaxing and easy access to the ocean. Everyone very helpful. Two grandchildren stayed over one night and it was easy.

Wonderful trip
Lobster, kayaking, astronomy and the best tasting water on the planet!

The place was a dump. There was no thought given to make people feel welcomed.
The only reason we rented this place it was because it was the last house available. The lack of thought to comfort was clearly missing. The bedding (sheets, pillows cases and towels were so old. Pillows had no pillow protectors on them. No faces towels and no where to hang wet towels. No yea kettle. Pots and pans so old and worn out . The shower had no water pressure. It was all crappy. Light over kitchen sink was barely working. I would never recommend anyone to stay there.

beautiful location
House very clean but there were a few issues. The lock box code was incorrect. Had to call owner to get correct code. Bathroom sink clogged. Various lights were burned out. Could not find a way to turn on light above washer/ dryer. No extra garbage bags. Yard had a lot of grass clippings that got onto our clothing.

Maine Weekend Getaway
I stayed here for 3 nights with my fiancee while we were checking out Deer Isle, Stonington and Isle au Haut. The property was clean and just as described in the listing. It was located on a private and beautiful inlet with a great view! We really enjoyed sitting in the Adirondack chairs in the backyard, taking in the view, and paddling out on the kayaks (be sure to do this at high tide!). We had a great time and would easily return again!

Cottage on the cove.
We loved our stay at this property. Plenty of room for the 4 of us. 2 bedrooms. 1 bath. Living room. Sun porch.. Large eat-in kitchen. Loved eating breakfast at the kitchen table with a gorgeous view of the entire cove. Large yard to walk around and explore.. We were pleasantly surprised to find the house looked better in person, as some updating has been done since the pictures were last taken. Great family vacation home!!!

Loved this island, cottage, and area!
Quick and easy check-in. Owners were very easy to access. Property is secluded and quite, but also easily accessible. Anything we needed was within 10 minutes. Loved waking to the ocean, wildlife, and a good cup of coffee. House is clean with amenities. Overall will visit again if back in the area. Peaceful, relaxing, and refreshing.
PS - there is a friendly fox that visits daily along with deer. Amazing!

Peaceful and Relaxing
We enjoyed our stay. This was our first time on the island and it was really secluded and relaxing. The property was clean and the house cozy. They even had wonderful kayaks to use during high tide (I recommend you put that in the description as my husband and I wondered about it, but it was not in the descriptions so it was a nice surprise when we got there!)
The only recommendations I would give is to get a better mattress for the bedroom with the queen sized bed. It was extremely uncomfortable and led to sleepless nights. Also right now because of COVID many restaurants were not open so it was difficult to organize meals. Otherwise everything was great!

Picture perfect
What a heavenly location. The cove is a beautiful as it appears in the photo. It was a pleasure to kayak in the calm cove at high tide , or to watch clammers dig in the mud at low tide. The house isn’t fancy but it is well equipped and maintained. The owners are very responsive and offered tips for restaurants and eagle watching. We hope to come back again and again.

The property was gorgeous. Use of kayaks the best part. Beds adequate. Most furniture not very comfortable. No news stations on tv. Kitchen very good. Could use a face lift especially in living room and sun room. But we had a restful time there. Very quiet. Good outside chairs for view and reading. Would stay there again because the site was so beautiful.

Very Good Stay
Of the five properties I've rented on Deer Isle, I liked this one the best. It features cleanliness, a very nice kitchen, a convenient location near Stonington, peace and quiet, and a fine view of an extensive cove flanked everywhere by pine woods. I plan to come back.

Idyllic Maine cottage on private cove
Classic secluded summer cottage on tidal cove, right down to the linoleum pattern in the eat in kitchen. Expansive water views from the kitchen, living room, and screened porch. Kayaks provided to explore the cove and beyond; just check the tide tables first. Fully equipped with new appliances and well-maintained. Located between Deer Isle and Stonington off a quiet private road. Well-suited for couple or small family. Great for birders and nature lovers. Neighborhood deer were friendly.

The town was quaint and people were very friendly!

Relaxing Getaway
My husband and I were looking for a relaxing private getaway this year and Heron Watch was perfect! The property was just amazing and we found it was not really necessary to leave once we got there. We enjoyed the private cove for swimming and kayaking. The yard was expansive and there was plenty of room to have yard games set up or just relax in the awesome Adirondack chairs that are provided. We spent our time exploring around the entire peninsula with our kayaks. Our daughter joined us later into our trip and it was really nice that the house came with two kayaks as well so our daughter was able to explore with us. At night the stars were just amazing however, the lightening bugs put on a pretty impressive show as well. The house is well cared for and very comfortable for a family of 4 or more. The views from every room in the front of the house are just amazing and change with the sun and tide throughout the day. We opened all of the windows and enjoyed the fresh air that flows throughout the house. Deer Isle is a great place to really get away and not be involved with traffic and tourist traps. We would recommend this property to families young and old. There is handicap access as well. By the way, there is a resident heron at Heron Watch. We saw her every day in the grassy area of the cove. We also had a beautiful little song bird that sat on the boat tie near the Adirondacks daily and sang us some lovely tunes as well as a deer that was seen on the property in the early evenings. Magical experience in a hidden gem on Deer Isle.
