From the “A1” highway take the Firenze Sud exit. Follow the ramp all the way and cross the bridge on the Arno river; at the stop light at the bottom of the bridge, turn left and follow the directions for the Viali di Circonvallazione (the river should always be on your left!). Take the riverside avenue to the San Niccolò Bridge, exit to the left then turn right onto Viale Giovanni Amendola. Arriving at Piazza Beccaria – easily recognizable from the antique gate – continue straight to Piazza Donatello – with the cemetery in the center – and drive around that cemetery, following the signs for the ZTL (limited traffic zone) and the Santa Maria Nuova Hospital. From the Santa Maria Novella station you can reach the apartments by taxi, it is a short ride about 10 euro (we don’t recommend proceeding on foot, especially with luggage; the distance requires at least 20 minutes walking) or by bus, with line 14 (for Il Girone or Ripa), departing from the station. from the guest book:
We have lived in five different apartments in Florence over the last six years, and “Pinti 1” is easily our favorite; we lived there for over three months last year. It is beautifully and comfortably furnished, it’s stylish, and it clearly shows the love and care of its owner, Mrs. Claudia Morace. Borgo Pinti is a quiet, mostly pedestrian street. It’s off the “tourist track,” yet within easy walking distance to the historic center of the city. San Ambrogio market, the best market in Florence, is about seven minutes down the street. The apartment is on the top floor of a quiet building, up manageable flights of stairs. It has two floors: the top floor contains the master bedroom and bathroom and a small, quiet alcove for reading or other pursuits. The main floor contains the kitchen, dining area, living room, large bathroom, and guest room. Morning sunlight pours through the large living room window. There is a big dining room table – we seated eight for Thanksgiving dinner – and an abundance of dishes and pots and pans. The apartment is supplied with many quality bed linens and towels; there are three televisions, one in each of the bedrooms and one in the living room, and there’s a good desk where one can work at the computer; the apartment is wired for the internet. Easily our greatest surprise was that the apartment has screens, a luxury in Florence where mosquitoes seem to thrive year-round. A wonderful domestic, Marta, seems to know everything about the apartment, and if she can’t answer your questions, Mrs. Morace is only too happy to help. Speaking of Mrs. Morace, we have never met a more pleasant and accommodating landlady; the instant we met her we were struck by her warmth and friendship. We never felt that our relationship was “strictly business.” She and her beautiful apartment remain one of our happiest memories of Florence – where we hope to return very soon.

Insider Tips: VRBO in Florence, Italy
Panorama of Florence, Italy, taken from the Piazza de Michelangelo.
This travel tip comes from my friend Shelley in San Diego, California, who stayed in a three-bedroom apartment - a 'dream in the heart of Florence' - in December. When she told me how perfect it was for her family, I couldn't resist sharing her comments with you. I love that it's in an upscale area and close to good neighborhood restaurants. It sounds like a great deal and someplace you might want to consider for the next time you travel to Italy.
Vacation rentals are great for authentic travelers who want to connect with the community and the local culture. In my opinion they are better than hotel accommodations for 3G (three-generation) family vacations.
Shelley:
'We had the pleasure of staying in Claudia's beautiful apartment while visiting our daughter who is studying in Florence. We arrived on Christmas day, which we expected to be less than convenient, but Claudia was gracious enough to let our daughter store some food in the kitchen and provide her with a key in advance so that we did not need to disturb anybody's holiday with our arrival. Additionally, the kitchen was stocked with water, juice, coffee, a fresh fruit basket, and wonderful olive oil that Claudia bottles herself

We as a family with 2 children (10 and 13) spent 7days in this wonderful apartment. Long before our arrival Claudia (the owner) sent us very useful information to plan and prepare our trip.
The appartment was very clean and is lovely furnished, everything you need is there.
The air condition (both) were pretty well working - i cannot understand the review telling you would have run them 36h to cool the apartment. While our stay temperature ouside was constantly 36-38°C (97-100°F) and we got the appertment refreshingly cool in a couple of hours, no need to run the AC all time.
The apartment's location could not be better - you step out the door and within minutes you reach everything you want to see.
But the overall greatest thing about this apartment is the owner Claudia, who was so heartwarming taking care about us having a good time, invited us to her farm, welcomed us like family in her home. The wine and oil tasting with her was a great experience as the lunch she invited us to was as well. We spent a wonderful day together, Claudia gave us a lot of good tips and she organized a private guide to have a walk in florence, which was a great experience for us, especially the kids loved the tour (great thanks to Alessandra!).
We would have loved to stay much longer and are sure we will return to be Claudia's guests again.
we came to florence like strangers and felt leaving it as friends!
Thank you Claudia for sharing all this with us, we can't wait to meet again! DJJK

Claudia was very helpful with taxi bookings and once we got comfortable the apartment was fine. There were a few things which made me question the abundance of five star reviews. The apartment was a bit warm when we arrived and took 36 hours to cool to a comfortable temperature. It was Florence in July, and I wouldn’t visit the city in that month again.
Also we rented specifically with the intention to use the washing machine and found out we couldn’t use both air conditioning and washing machine at the same time. This was a bit frustrating but was fine once the apartment was cool. Final issue was the shower temperature which was impossible to regulate.
It was a very clean apartment and might work for some, but I wanted to be clear on it’s limits. The location was excellent and the host was very kind.

This place is exactly like the pictures. It was perfect for our visit to Florence. Can’t say enough good things. Don’t hesitate to book this place.

My family had an amazing time staying at Claudia’s apartment. The location couldn’t be better for all of the major attractions. The apartment was very clean and the amenities were perfect. Very quiet and peaceful location with comfortable beds. Everything was beautiful!

This is our third visit to this apartment. It is simply the best. The cleanliness, functionality, and location can not be beat! Claudia is extremely responsive and helpful. We would never stay anywhere else when we visit Florence!

Our stay was amazing. Claudia, the owner, was very kind and provided us a welcoming gift of a bottle of wine and olive oil, both produced at her family farm.
She checked in to ensure everything was perfect for our Stay.
Vivianna was the host and provided excellent details about the apartment and then spent considerable time providing helpful suggestions for sites to see, places to eat, and shopping.
It was perfect stay in a perfect location to see the city.
We would definitely stay here again!
5.0
We loved this flat and location. Vivianna our host was fantastic with recommendations, communication and set up a taxi for us. Very nice!
The only thing was it was advertised as having a jacuzzi and a outdoor area. There was no outdoor area. We enjoyed this location as you can walk anywhere! But they should change the listing as it was not listed accurately. Both the owner and host are very nice!
We traveled with our twin 17 year olds. I recommend this place to anyone that wants to be in Florence and relaxing for a long, extended stay as well.

What a perfect apartment in Florence!! Our family of four loved staying in Claudia’s apartment. She was wonderful to communicate with from the moment we booked many months before. The location is perfect! Everything was sooo clean! It was so fun to be in a fun neighborhood with so many places to venture to. We walked all over and it was an easy walk or taxi ride to the train station too. We would absolutely stay here again and really hope to be able to. So many extras touches! Viviana was wonderful and welcomed us when we arrived and gave us a perfect welcome to the apartment and Florence! Thank you!!!

Claudia and Viviana had great communication with us prior to the stay and did a great job getting us in and settled. The location is fabulous for any and all sights in Florence. They arranged transport to the train on our last day as well. Would stay there again 100%

Claudia’s place is lovely. Pretty and attractively decorated apartment…it was our haven for three nights in Florence! The check in process was amazing with Viviana’s assistance and we felt in great hands the entire time we were there. She is at a good location in the city, provided us with a lovely sample of her olive oil and a bottle of red wine. We were grateful we found her place! We walked to pizza making, Uffizi and to meet our e-bike guide. Thank you!

I can not imaging a more perfect place to stay in Florence! Everything about this home was just amazing. From how they met us and told us about the city, to the location, the layout of the home. We couldn’t have been happier and we would 100% come back again!!

The apartment is a home away from home! It is in a perfect location with such a gracious hostess! Claudia greeted us with a bottle of wine and a tin of her award winning olive oil! The apartment was very clean and met all of our needs, even coffee every morning across the street in the little coffee/sandwich shop, before we started our day! Viviana met us when we arrived and gave us recommendations for dinner and arranged a taxi to the train station for our departure! Claudia arranged a walking tour with Alessandra the morning after our arrival and that was outstanding! We visited her farm and saw how knowledgable and passionate she is about olive oil! She has many awards for her oil! It was such a great visit because of Claudia and her apartment!! We will return!

Our two families consisted of six adults and two children (ages 9 and 11). We rented both apartments across the hall from each other centrally located for walkability in Florence. The apartments were beautifully decorated, clean, well appointed and felt like a home away from home. Claudia, the owner, and Viviana, her assistant could not be more gracious. They answered questions rapidly, gave us suggestions and lists of places to eat and things to see, and even called cabs for transport early in the morning. Absolutely will return to these top notch lovely apartments. Five star all the way!

We only stayed 2 nights in Florence so the location of the apt was perfect for walking around and seeing everything in a short time frame. Viviana met us right on time, was very nice and shared information about Florence including where to get the best meals and where not too. The host Claudia was in touch even before we got to Florence and during our stay just to check in to say have a nice day! The place is cute, clean, comfortable with added touches like a bottle of wine & award winning olive oil made by the hosts. At the end of our stay Claudia and the housekeeper went way out of the way to help me retrieve my phone which i locked in the apt when we checked out! We hope to come back to Florence to spend more time and will book this place again!

My husband and our two boys ages 18 and 20 stayed here for 3 nights. The property manager Claudia was very communicative. We were personally checked in by Vivienna who made sure we understood how everything worked and gave advice on the area. The location is excellent, easy walking distance to all the major sites. It was surprisingly quiet in the evenings - no loud street noise which can be an issue in Florence. Also, screens on the windows so if you want to have them open no worries about mosquitos. The air conditioners worked very well but it had cooled off a bit for August and we were able to turn them off at night and while we left during the day and the apartment was still comfortable. Here you will get some extras, two pillows per person, plenty of towels, plenty of dishes, coffee, extra electric adapters in case you forgot yours, lovely decor. Claudia has through of everything.

I have nothing but great things to say about our stay at this apartment. Location was perfect, rooms were clean and the owner or assistant was always available if we had any questions.
Of note, you have to go up 5 flights of stairs to get to apartment, no elevator. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

We had a lovely stay with our family of 5. Claudia personally met us, along with her assistant, at check in. We were given an orientation to the appliances and recommendations on places to see in the neighborhood. Claudia was very communicative and checked in on us throughout the stay. The location was excellent and the furnishings and amenities in the apartment were perfect for us. We would love to return sometime!

The property was a great location to see the highlights of Florence. Claudia was an amazing host. She helped us line up a cooking class and a private driver to go see the countryside wine country. Highly recommend the property for 2 couples or a family. You won’t be disappointed.

This apartment was wonderful for our family's stay in Florence (2 adults and 2 teens). The upstairs allowed for each child to have their own bed and the 2 full bathrooms were a plus.
The check-in process was a breeze and the hosts were very accommodating to offer food suggestions as well as transportation to and from the airport or train station.
We went in the middle of a heat wave and our first night the A/C struggled, but our host, Claudia was very communicative and had repairmen there the same day. Things went very smoothly after that, but she continued to check-in to make sure we needed anything. The kitchen was well-stocked and allowed us to cook most days easily. Thank you for a great stay!

Charming apartment with plenty of room for family of four. Great area and close to shopping, grocery and restaurants. Walkable to many attractions. Our host Claudia was wonderful in providing information and assistance with reservations. Claudia and Viviana, who checked us in, were always responsive to questions via phone and text. It made our stay in Florence truly memorable. We highly recommend staying here.

This place was great! The host was very helpful, kind and generous. We did see a cockroach, but only one. And the house was comfortable, good AC, walkable to everything. Perfect place to stay when exploring Florence.

Communication with owner was fantastic. She helped us line up a driver from train station to VRBO and provided great contact information for a walking tour of Florence and a day tour to Siena with a wine tasting event included. Apartment was very nice with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Good size refrigerator for us to use. Décor within the room(s) was very homey! There was a caffe bar directly across the street which we used every morning! Good location for all of the main tourist attractions in Florence. Bathroom showers were a good size. Only downside was the 56 steps up to the 2nd floor apartment. Owner lined up a porter to carry our bags up the stairs, which really helped! We got our exercise while we were there!!

This apartment was great location to all Florence has to offer. The apartment was well equipped, and was very comfortable and enjoyable. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Florence.
