About this house rental
Circa 1890, This Historic home has lots of unique antique character with modern style that you will not see anywhere else!! Consists of 12 foot ceilings and all original wood floors. House is fully furnished including king size bed, sofa sleeper, oversized chair with twin sleeper, 6 burner Wolf range with all the cookware you could ever need. The master bath has a large brick walk in shower. The original mill work, hardware and painted walls from 1890 have been preserved! The front porch has 2 rockers or you can relax on the large covered cypress deck with charcoal pit at the rear of the home that opens onto a brick laid patio. Located in very quiet, peaceful area right outside of Lafayette City Limits but close to everything. Amazing place for Cajun Country visitors or anyone just looking for a getaway!

We were looking forward to a relaxing long weekend, prior to a three day conference.
And this trip was just what we needed. The local Cajun food in Scott was wonderful. And everything was perfect with the house.

It’s was a very eclectic and cozy property! Very authentic and cozy. We happened to be there during unprecedented cold snap and it was a little cool due to age of home! The homeowner made extra arrangements to ensure we were cozy! I appreciated the efforts! Would be super fun in summer nice outdoor open areas for fun!

We had a very comfortable stay at the Castle in Scott, LA. It’s a great place to enjoy an old well appointed cottage with all the amenities of modern life. The privacy and seclusion of the property is most attractive to us - and great to escape the stresses of city life. We’ll definitely be back again - and we hope very soon….

Parents Get Away Trip
Such a fun property!! The history that this little house holds is such a treasure. I love that the property owners have the bill of sale on display and so many other neat little pieces, it truly feels as if you are stepping back through time. We woke up one morning to the neighbors working a herd of cattle on horse back. You definitely will not regret booking this cute little house.

Amazing Place to Stay!
We fell in Love with this place. So much history everywhere you looked. Beautifully decorated and had everything you could possibly need. We loved the peace and quiet of the location. It was close to so many attractions. It was close enough to town if you needed anything, but far enough away for peace and quiet. The property is so beautiful and we loved the porches. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was fantastic. Thank you for allowing us to stay.

Wonderful getaway!
We stayed at The Castle and loved it! The house is great with tons of character. The back porch is so peaceful to sit back and relax. Our kids loved seeing the cows, chickens and bunny. It was perfect all around and great location too! We plan on returning in the future. I definitely would recommend The Castle!

Perfect Stay
Charming house with cajun flair and great creature comforts. Enjoyed the closeness to all the local antique shops and the food in the surrounding area. We were greeted each morning with a red bird knocking at the kitchen window. LOVED our stay!

Comfy and Relaxing
Wonderful place for a long weekend for a small family. We were able to access all the attractions of the area, Mardi Gras and enjoy the property itself as a relaxing get away. Would Recommend!

An excellent Louisiana “experience “.
Our host did everything necessary to ensure that we (dog included)had a fun two week vacation at The Castle. We took advantage of his suggestions for getting to know the area, eating at great restaurants and relaxing on a beautiful rural property. We appreciated Jared’s prompt responses to our questions and attention to details in our home. We recommend the rental to anyone who appreciates restoration and upkeep of historical properties.

The Castle Stay
First the pros. Quiet neighborhood and serene, tastefully decorated nice comfortable king bed, backyard was nice, rain shower was a bonus, did not use hid-a-bed or stove. Now the cons, no password available for internet, toilet overflowed no plunger available had to go out and buy one, no instructions about what to do with trash no outside can available, stove was dirty with food around burners, refrigerator dirty inside . Front door to home had 3/8 inch gap around door that allowed the air to flow threw it, glass top table was dirty on bottom of glass. No # available to contact maintenance or owner, check-in book incomplete .

Perfect!
The Castle was perfect for our family Thanksgiving celebration. While dinner was cooking, everyone enjoyed the huge back porch overlooking the patio and the scenic, peaceful pasture. Our granddaughters loved the swing. This awesome historical home was spacious with beautiful décor and a great kitchen. This will be our home away from home when visiting family in Louisiana!

Perfect
It was like staying in a museum house that helps you learn what it was like for people who lived in the 1800s - except it also had modern conveniences! We also enjoyed relaxing on the back porch. The location was perfect - the neighborhood was quiet and off the beaten track but we were a short ride from various activities. Jared was always quickly responsive to any questions we had. I highly recommend this property.

The Castle was the perfect weekend getaway. The pictures don't do it justice. It's even better than we expected. We loved the decor, the amazing back porch, and great kitchen. It was the perfect home away from home.

Family Getaway
We loved the house and the location was great! The Castle was a great story teller for sure and the pictures no way touched the history until you arrived to see in person. It was decorated beautifully and enhanced the age of the home. Living in Louisiana you learn to live with the hot and humidity as they go hand in hand but sitting on the back porch there was a nice breeze to enjoy the scenery and didn’t really notice that it was touch warm outside. The Castle is definitely one to visit again!

Passing Through Lafayette
My wife and I were heading east from TX going to MS and FL and wanted to break up our drive. Lafayette was the perfect place to stop after a 7 hr drive. This property was the perfect place to spend a couple of days before continuing on. Jared was very responsive to texts and was a great host. Very well decorated and in a quiet comfortable setting, this vintage house was a terrific start to my wife and I getting some time to ourselves. Even though it was a quick stay, we still had time to sit on the back porch swing and enjoy a cool breeze that came through. Also got in a walk up and down the road. There is a red cardinal that visits the kitchen window throughout the day. We loved it and took many photos. It's my wife's favorite bird. We decided not to cook. We ate out at local restaurants. We recommend Fezzo's Seafood in Scott for lunch or dinner and The French Press in Lafayette for breakfast/lunch. We recommend staying at The Castle in Scott, LA!

Peace and Charm
We couldn't have asked for a better place to spend time together. Peaceful, LOVED the house and porch, and not too far from all of the yummy restaurants in the area. I even found 4 four-leaf clovers! A perfect weekend.

Great weekend getaway!
The Castle far exceeds our expectations. This was the third time we have stayed at this wonderful home in the past 3 years. The house is immaculate, extremely comfortable, cleverly decorated and contains all the amenities of home (and then some!) The huge back porch overlooking a serene pasture is perfect for entertaining family, cooking out, or kicking back with a good book on the porch swing. There are several great restaurants in the vicinity.
Jared is a gracious host, and always just a call away if needed. We can not wait to return!

A wonderful stay in an historic home!
We had a comfortable feeling from the start of our visit. It has everything a person needs and with added charm. We love this home and Jared has been so responsive and accommodates our needs as they arise. I haven’t slept this well in a long time (the bed is so comfortable)! We feel at home in this lovely place.

As Usual, Did Not Disappoint!
This is the second time that we have stayed at The Castle and it did not disappoint. We had a get together one day for friends and family, and it accommodated us perfectly. The back porch area is perfect for entertaining and for just sitting and relaxing -enjoying nature. We just love this place and you could not ask for more accommodating hosts in Jared and Rob. We love and highly recommend The Castle!
