I am sure the owners of this property had a lot of fun going to yard sales and antique shops to decorate this 1953 cabin! I called it the Shabby Cabin. Lots of things to look at in every nook and cranny. Most importantly, the screened sun porch and the back porch overlooking the lake were just perfect. We spent most of our time there, when not relaxing inside or sleeping in very comfy beds. This VRBO had everything you need and more. We loved our stay; and did our little dog; the big yard with the albino squirrel was her favorite part. Book it, you'll be glad you did!

Enjoyed our stay. Loved the porch looking out over the pond. Husband enjoyed fishing. House was perfect for the 2 of us and our fur baby. Would definitely stay here again.

Totally enjoyed our visit in June. Property owner Ms. Ann was very nice and so easy to communicate with. The property was very clean and so serene. It became almost magical at dusk when the fireflies came out. Thank you so much Ms.Ann for sharing your wonderful property. We would love to visit again next year!

Nice location convenient to many hiking trails and great restaurants. Biltmore Estate and downtown Asheville are just a short drive as well as the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The weather was great considering we were coming from Florida. We will probably be back next year.

Stayed 3 nights with my dog and had the most restful time. Unplugged & unwound in this quaint cabin. The weather was perfect with days filled with sunshine & rain. Comfortable bed with great linens made for wonderful nights sleep. The serenity on the porch overlooking the pond was fantastic!

For dog lovers this is a wonderful location with 3 acres of fenced in property, a screen porch, and a lake/pond facing front porch. There is a kayak, canoe and paddleboard for your use.The host provided start up supplies like TP, PT, coffee, food wraps, soaps etc. which os always appreciated. Wi-Fi service was good. It is very close to both downtown Hendersonville, Laurel Park, and Flat Rock.

The house was old but very clean.
We spent most of our time on the back porch on the lake fishing. Easy access to downtown Hendersonville restaurants and shopping.

The property is an oasis with the feeling of a secluded mountain cabin escape while being only minutes away to charming downtown Hendersonville. It really is the best of both world’s. We loved our stay and could not have imagined a better experience. Having stayed in Asheville numerous times, the exhaustion of driving around treacherous roads from a remote comfy cabin to the busy hilly roads of downtown Asheville pales in comparison to this property. Having the rustic experience of a cabin/pond so close to the accessible and good vibes of Main st Hendersonville made for a magical weekend.

We enjoyed the days we was there. It was a cute little getaway. We brought our own firewood and left what we didn't use for someone else to enjoy. We would stay again.

This property was Exactly what I was looking for. A rustic cabin with plenty of room for my dogs to run and right on the edge of the city convenient to everything. I only use the master bedroom but the bed was extremely comfortable. My favorite part was sitting in front of the Lake every morning on the porch drinking my coffee and watching my dogs run.
I will definitely rebook.

The property was a quiet, rustic cabin with a small private lake. It was exactly as represented in the VRBO listing. The location was within a few minutes of the Hendersonville amenities yet providing the quiet getaway that my wife and I were looking for. Anne was a great host, responding quickly to our text message requests and questions. She had everything perfectly prepared for our arrival. We will definitely stay here again!!!

This place is an old country cabin with a beautiful pond in the middle of Hendersonville and close to all the downtown restaurants. The front porch overlooks the pond and is a great place just to hang out while admiring the pond and the birds that come to visit (including a heron). You barely notice the closest houses due to the setting. Very peaceful to be so close to downtown.
There are trout streams to fish in within a reasonable drive. And Hendersonville has a lively downtown area and has much better restaurants to eat at than I expected (not having visited in quite a few years).

The cabin was clean and ready for our arrival. The location was perfect for a very short drive downtown for dinner at any of the many wonderful restaurants, golf at some of the local public courses or a stroll through the woods at the local park. Our lab was quite happy to play fetch in the side yard and look out at the lake while we sat on the porch. This is not a fancy cabin, but it suited our needs. We ate meals both outside on the lakeside picnic table and on the screened in porch…..nice to have the options. I do have to agree with others, it is a busy street and exiting the driveway can take a little patience. Also, it’s not a good location for taking a walk. However, we enjoyed the privacy of the location given the proximity to town.

We had a nice visit in this property. It is an old house but is clean and mostly well maintained. (Exterior could use some paint and cleaning). It is comfortably furnished and had everything that we needed. If you are thinking about staying at a clean and comfortable fishing camp you won’t be disappointed. If you are thinking modern mountain chalet, you will not be happy. The floors are squeaky and uneven in sections and the king sized bed is very soft memory foam (possibly too soft for some). The queen bed is firmer memory foam, rooms are good sized bathroom is quite small, but adequate. The fishing was ok but not great, we caught 2 small bass and 1 perch, so there are definitely fish in the pond. It seemed clean and looked pretty. I would not recommend swimming in it.
Overall it is a great rustic, uniquely secluded property in a great location close to downtown.

My family and I loved the "tucked-away Cottage" on the private Lake!! We all fished, got on the paddle board, did some canoeing, and had some nice fires in the fire pit. I brought my own smoker grill, so we had some very tasty meals at the end of each day! The nice cottage atmosphere is awesome! The place is not to small or to large, it's just right for four people. It's fairly quiet there with plenty of things to do and places to go. In addition, it is close to Ashville as well.
I had a great time with my family and our Berne doodle "Elliot" who absolutely loved the property there! We plan to come back for another awesome family get-together!

My wife and I went home to Hendersonville, NC to visit family and friends. We booked this property and could not be more pleased. Great location close to town but in the woods. Lots of land to walk and a big pong to boat and fish. If you want something different than a Hotel this is perfect.. Thanks, Tony Goodwin

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Timberlake cabin. Everything was exactly as described, and every question we had promptly answered.
You simply cannot beat the location! It felt like we were tucked in the woods, but it’s almost downtown. I loved how close we were to two grocery stores and tons of restaurants.
We look forward to planning another stay when we can enjoy fishing in the lake. The record breaking hard freeze from the week before had frozen the lake. It was thawing by the time we were leaving, but we still enjoyed the serene view!
Our two children begged for just one more night when it was time to leave. The dog even loved the outside space and we felt extremely safe.
Clearly, enjoyed our long weekend and can’t wait to return!

We had a great time with our 3 year old son and 5 week old baby girl! Plenty of room and fun fishing with the small boat and fishing gear on site! Close to the kids museum for the little ones! The host checked in to make sure all the accommodations were adequate

This quant vacation house had everything we needed for a very comfortable and peaceful vacation. And the location was awesome… semi secluded but so close to everything….you can literally be at a nice restaurant in minutes! We picked this rental so that we could let our dogs run and play and they had such a great time!!!! And while the road it’s located on is a little busy, we didn’t have any trouble pulling out. We really appreciated the extras in the kitchen. The master bed was perfectly soft too!

I really enjoyed the cozzy comfort of Anne's cabin. I'd definitely stay again. You don't get amenities like this at a hotel. Plus, it was super clean, quiet and close to everything.

For starters, I am absolutely shocked that this place has such a high rating! Here’s the positives: 1) It’s a large property with a mostly fenced in yard and a pond and 2) It’s close to town. That’s all. The rest is ALL negative. Honestly, it’s a total dump that is in severe disrepair. Many things about this place could easily be fixed but they don’t bother. Examples: Lrg area of the floor is rotting/caving in; most screens are torn and most windows don’t even open; it’s dusty, dirty and smelly (we literally had to clean it before bringing our things in and didn’t even feel comfortable touching the WALLS; crazy clutter all over. I’m not sure if this is their attempt at decor, but it’s just dust covered junk littering every flat surface available! (Ex: 3 very old/dusty candles and an 80’s hairblower cluttering the ONLY available surface in the bathroom you could potentially use to set your things on and I didn’t want to touch them to move them); tub is very gross/shower curtain has mildew; towels stink; pond is gross and gave both of my dogs a ear infections (even though I messaged Anne beforehand to ask if it was safe for dogs to swim in); driveway is a disaster and you take your life into your hands every time you leave (ESPECIALLY if you want to turn right!); the hose leaks everywhere; traffic noise is insanely loud and unrelenting (so even though the pictures make it look like a serene lakeside retreat, it is most definitely FAR from that); outdoor furniture was so dirty and disgusting that we felt gross sitting on it; the bedding had a horrible smell and We actually stored the comforters in the closets and used our own (which IRONICALLY resulted in the owner trying to accuse us of destroying one of them somehow! Go figure!); Anne doesn’t return phone calls but will text to ask you if you will be checking out early; they nickel and dime you for using their firewood and grill and want you to LEAVE CASH for using these items (which is insane and I was surprised they haven’t sent us a water and electric bill! So We didn’t use either of these items on principle); AND Lastly the CRAZIEST part is that if you purchase the damage insurance, expect the owner to make fraudulent claims and blame you for damages that you definitely weren’t responsible for and that (if they even exist) were there when you checked in! Overall just a HORRIBLE experience for my parents and I, they are still mad at me for picking that place! Not sure I would use VRBO again.
