About this house rental

This beautiful home boasts a total of 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and 1 half-bath with a wrap around porch is only 5 min to downtown, 7 minutes to Baylor and the Magnolia market and has plenty of parking on the property. This property can book from 2 guests to as many as 12 guests. This home can accommodate up to 4 families or about 10-12 guests comfortably. Please contact the owner to find out if there is availability for a smaller group (1-5 guests) in the Gorman Guest House at a lower rate. We are kid and pet friendly. Cribs can be provided upon request. The fenced yard has ample play space or room for entertaining large groups of people, big or small. Perfect set up for wedding parties too.

A group of girlfriends and I did a ladies weekend of shopping and celebrating, using Charmaine’s property as our homey hub. We were less than ten minutes from great attractions and restaurants such as Magnolia, Bitty & Beau’s Coffee, Fabled Bookshop, Hecho en Waco, and Pivovar. The kitchen was the best feature of the house, accommodating our morning coffee chats and the cooking we did. The island is huge and there were eight of us. The queen beds were very comfortable as well. A few things to be aware of: the stairs were crafted a hundred years, so use caution. The showers in one or two of the bathrooms are more ideal for nimble people, whose height is between 5 feet to 5 feet 11 inches 😂 They are claw foot tubs converted into showers. More cute than functional, but we managed. Overall, it was a wonderful stay.

This old house has character, creaking stairs included (that's a plus - if you grew up with them, you know what I mean), and lots of comfortable common space that was a wonderful gift for extended family members to gather and visit after a family wedding. Everyone slept well, all was in good order, and communication with the owner was simple, straightforward, prompt and helpful. A lovely weekend enhanced by the provision of this home!

This was an annual sibling trip along with spouses - had a wonderful time! This house reminded us of our growing up in an older home on Tres Palacios Bay. This house has been beautifully restored by Fixer Upper. We especially enjoyed the front porch and were amused when a wine tour bus stopped for about 5 minutes as the house was on their tour route. The location is excellent and very convenient to the fine restaurants we dined at.

We had a family birthday celebration for a family member who lives in Waco and rented two adjacent houses from Charmaine. This house was the perfect place to get together to visit, play games and put puzzles together! It was also close to sites to go see. :) It worked out perfectly for the group! Thanks Charmaine!

This house was absolutely perfect for our girls getaway weekend! The location was close to all the things we were wanting to do without being too busy. We loved how many bathrooms there were! The third floor stairs are a little sketchy lol Beware of them after you've had a mimosa or two! The kitchen and living room were spacious and fit us all well. When we first arrived we were slightly taken aback by the surrounding neighborhood however we quickly realized it was all ok! Parking was a bit of a trick at times but we made it work! Our host was kind and responded quickly to our questions just before we checked in. Overall we loved it and would recommend for any large girls group getaway for sure!

We wanted the full Fixer Upper experience. As a group of 8 adults, this house had plenty of room and everything we needed. We loved getting to stay in the "Catastrophe" house from Season 1 Episode 2. Charmaine was a delight to work with and so welcoming. We would definitely come and stay again.

The home is unique and spacious. It has all you need for an extended stay and rooms for everyone. The neighborhood has had a downturn but we had no problems at all. We enjoyed evenings watching passersby from the porch. We would stay again for sure.

Love the main floor space. Open and very comfortable. Kitchen well equipped. Bedrooms were comfortable. While the tub/shower are indicative of the style/age of home. The showers were uncomfortable to use and small.

We had a two night stay for my daughters bachelorette ladies. The house is absolutely beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay. It was great to be able to see the renovation recap of this beautiful property. The host was absolutely amazing, very thorough and responsive. The neighborhood was also pleasant and quite. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

Please do not make the mistake we made. We rented this house a week ago (mid July) for my family to celebrate my husband’s 80th birthday. Many weeks of planning went into this weekend.We rented this house so all my family could be together (since we live in different cities). The description says 5 bedrooms (sleeps 12). The third floor bedroom had no air conditioner (the window unit was broken). The four bedrooms on the second floor were 84 degrees by the first evening. The air conditioner worker came out to check out the units and said the units are not adequate to cool the house when we have 100+ degree days. The owner offered, late in the evening to move us to two houses. The whole point was to be together. Four adults slept on a blow up mattress and couch on the first floor. Our Granddaughter and her family couldn’t stay because it was too hot for the baby. We only stayed one night. The owner gave a partial refund for the second night, but that does not make up for the time we lost celebrating this milestone. I would not recommend renting this house in the hot summer months. Nice place except for the air conditioning, that is why I gave it a 3 rating. Phyllis

After years of worldwide VRBO rentals, we are forced to leave our first negative review. The home was clean and the living areas were nice, unfortunately the bathrooms and bedrooms were in need of significant work and the neighborhood is simply unsafe. We left after one night due to the gang-like activity well into the night. This is a hard pass.

We had a great time staying at the Gorman Gorman house! It was beautiful and gave us tons of room so for our girls trip we could spend time together and all have our own space. Our favorite thing that we did was to watch the episode of Fixer Upper while we were staying at the house. It was fun to watch the transformation while we were sitting in the finished project! Charmaine was an excellent host and was very friendly and helpful. We loved our stay!!! Thank you!

The house was beautiful, so close to downtown Waco and clean!! We all enjoyed our “Fixer Upper” experiences. The owner was so friendly and answered calls and text when communicating with us, she even had bottled water, snacks and some food items for cooking in the pantry, and coffee. The washer and dryer was very nice to have as well. Overall, it was a great homey place to stay!

We had an amazing time! Mom friends know how to go with the flow. Our host was on top of things when a brief disaster struck. Excellent communication. Even though my Vrbo site was taking forever to load. A few points to ponder, the showers are small, with a rather invasive curtains. It takes a few times to figure out how to keep the curtain in check. The neighborhood is noisy, with roosters, dogs fast cars and parties. Earplugs work great! Perfect setting for visiting the Silos, spice village, etc

We had a good time in Waco. The house is very nice and we had difficulty getting around the house because of the stairs and high sided bathtubs. Downstairs is a great entertaining space, and the kitchen is great. The parking is a little challenging if the house in the back is rented, but manageable. The host could not have been nicer, and urged me to write this review, even though it wasn’t a perfect home for us! It had cool features and then difficult features, I.e. third floor stairs were very steep and not for a group like us (60’s). Very clean and very easy to control the temperature in the house (multiple thermostats).

So excited to find this property listed. Five bedrooms and five baths allowed each couple their own space and bathroom. The open concept on the main floor allowed for family to still be together, while still doing their own thing. The renovated older house was beautifully done. Loved the wrap around porch. The booking process was easy and great communication with the owner. Highly recommend this location

Very clean, very well stocked with everything from coffee to toilet paper. Beautiful spacious gathering place. Stairs a little difficult for people with knee problems. Wish there were mirrors in all the bathrooms and shower handles working over the tubs. Everything else was wonderful. Even heard roosters crowing in the mornings around the neighborhood! It was a wonderful experience overall.

I rented this lovely home to host my parents and my sister and nieces who came to town to see my daughter perform in a show at Baylor. This home was perfect for gathering together, relaxing and enjoying our time together. There was plenty of space to spread out and everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom. We watched the Fixer Upper episode that featured the home and that made it especially fun to stay there. The home had everything we needed and Charmaine was a joy to communicate with, always lightning fast responses and you could tell she really wanted us to enjoy our time together. Thank you for providing us the perfect home for a multi-generational gathering!
