About this house rental

Located 7 minutes from Historic Russell, on Waikare Inlet, you will find our beautifully kept wood paneled cottage on 5 acres of native bush. Barbecue on the deck as you watch the sunset change the ocean's colours or have a spa in our covered outdoor area glimpsing the myriad of stars lighting up the inlet. Would you like a dip in the owners heated swimming pool next door? Not a problem! Its yours between 11 - 3 every day October 1st - April 15.

We are located right across the road from Russell's native bush walk, there's a lovely secluded swimming beach 5 minutes walk away, or you might want to borrow one of the kayaks at our own waterfront (which is tidal and a 400 meter walk down a drive and walk back uphill). The kayaks have fishing rod holders if you feel like trying your luck for one of our many luscious snapper .
We have a range of FREE sporting equipment for your use: tennis rackets, croquet, trampoline, table tennis, basketball hoop, kids scooter, lots of indoor games plus SKY, wifi.

And of course, there's Russell. Cruise, take a jet boat out to the Hole in the Rock or a leisurely sailing cruise around the islands, charter a boat for a day's snapper or marlin fishing, visit our historic sites and places, or just bring a book while the kids romp on the beach or paddle in our crystal clear waters. Theres the 87 km railtrail from Opua, mountain bike park at Waikangi - bike rentals both places. There's so many things to do here - I haven't even touched on the heaps of places you'll find to explore within an hour's radius of our home.

Beautiful Location, and amazing views-awesome hosts, very helpful. The house had everything you need. Would definitely come back and stay again. We really enjoyed our stay. Had such a fun stay at Waikare Cove! Made lovely family memories enjoying the spa pool, swimming pool and table tennis. The house was kitted out with everything we needed and the owners, Kathy and Rob, were very helpful. Keen to stay again!

We loved our stay, with the “not very summery” weather, there was hours of entertainment on site via table tennis, spa, pool, and generally plenty of space for our group of 10 not to feel on top of each other. Thank you for the hospitality!

Lovely homey place. Really well set up with everything you need. Heated pool at the owners Kathy and Rob's place next door, plus hot spa pool on property. Trampoline, table tennis, lots of other games. Lovely to see two wekas right outside the side door, grabbing bread we put out. Cheeky but quite tame. Gorgeous view, especially from top balcony. Close to Russell, Pahia, Kerikeri. Hosts Kathy and Rob so friendly and accommodating. Even drove to the ferry to bring some things we forgot at the house when we left. Would love to stay again. Well-deserved five stars!!

A very fine and spacious property with room for several adults and children. Lots of room for play and table tennis. great view. Near cozy and charming Russel and a great winery near by for food and wine. Very helpfull and welcoming owner.

Very quiet and private.. kitchen had everything in it to use.. the tiles got abit slippery when wet from everyone walking in with wet feet from spa. That was lovey.. the walk to the kayaks was abit to far. It’s a bummer u can’t take a car down and just park. The games room was a hit.. over all it was a lovely stay..thanks 😊

Our group of friends thoroughly enjoyed staying at Waikere Cove. Kathy and Rob were really great hosts who offered help whenever it was needed. The location is great with stunning views and plenty of local native birds who inhabit the area. We also enjoyed making use of the kayaks (Rob helpfully brought one up from the water to the house). The house was very spacious and very clean with good internet. There are numerous games and other things available to use at the house, along with the spa pool overlooking the water. We would definitely love to stay here again in the future.

We had booked this stay as a surprise birthday weekend and the property blew all our expectations away. The photos of the view just don’t do it justice - especially on a crisp morning over looking the water with a cuppa coffee in hand. Made great use of the bikes and ping pong table. Although the highlight for everyone was definitely the spa. Would book this stay again over and over again - highly recommend!

Great location, big enough for a big family gathering, lots to do on site for a quiet afternoon or evenings at home. Linen was lovely. Spa was a hit. Only comment was it was disappointing to find we had to deal with our rubbish and recycling which isn't easy with cars full of gear and children. But otherwise fantastic!

We stayed at Waikare Cove for a long weekend & loved it😁� The house is beautiful & clean, had all the amenities you’d need to enjoy your stay. The views omg were breathtaking😊� We’d never been to Russell before, but Kathy & Rob were so helpful in preparation for our trip. So much to do, sadly we didn’t have the time to explore it more, hope to go back Highly recommend Waikare Cove🤗�
