El lugar es maravilloso, realmente impresionante. Es como para salir a pasear en el propio alojamiento. La pieza es grande, el baño sale agua caliente bien, las instalaciones compartidas son de buen gusto y bien pensadas. Lucia, quien nos atendió, realmente simpática, super amorosa.
El colchon no era muy comodo.

Lage für die Weiterfahrt unserer Reise nach Tortuguero war perfekt.
Inhaberin war unglaublich herzlich und die Sprachbarriere ist (auch Dank Übersetzer-app) überhaupt kein Problem.
Wir konnten unsere Ankunftszeit unseren Reisepläne anpassen, ebenso unsere Frühstückszeit.
Hier hält man es auch mehrere Tage aus und kann sein eigenes kleines Abenteuer im Dschungel erleben, denn das Haus liegt mitten im Wald und man wird von Brüllaffen und Vögel geweckt☺️
Man hat die Federn der Matratzen teils gut gespürt.

loved the environment and being very close to nature. loved the very large outdoor patio. LOVED Lucia. Loved being close to the river and being able to swim in it, loved Lucia’s breakfasts!!
the hot water was wonky, it’s a bit scary driving there in the dark, and would highly suggest a 4x4 for the long, rocky road from the main road to the accommodation.

Lucia war sehr herzlich und hat uns ein tolles Frühstück zubereitet. Der grosszügige, überdachte Aussenbereich mit der Outdoor-Küche war für uns als Familie optimal. Wir haben viel Zeit am Fluss verbracht und waren ganz allein. Eine Familie von Brüllaffen kam ebenfalls täglich vorbei.

Ubicado en plena naturaleza. Habitación muy completa y con un porche maravilloso. El personal muy amable.
Llegamos de noche y el acceso se veía muy mal. Hay que fiarse de la ubicación de Google aunque parezca que no lleva a ningún sitio. Un cartel en el propio camino estaría bien. Por lo demás genial!

The place is gorgeous and we love it. It is clean and comfortable. We stayed there a week ago (under Luisa Bueno my wife's name) and we went again because we liked it very much. The hostess was the first time very friendly.
This time the hostess was not very friendly. She asked us why we did not take breakfast this time. We said we brought our own breakfast. She was not very amused. We took the same room as a week ago (room 1 for 2 persons) She asked if we slept on two beds. We said yes. She said that is not right you have to sleep on one bed. She was very rude. We said we paid for a room for 2 persons and not for one bed. Definitely not nice. We will not be visiting this nice place again because of her regretfully.

Very clean with properly intact mosquito nets on the windows! Nice modern bathroom. Totally charming greeting, breakfast and care from the lovely owner. She used charm and Google translate to communicate with both us (in English) and the German guests in the next room. Very nice breakfast and lots of good coffee. Nice river.
I had a tussle with the shower in it won! I got either too-hot water or cold, nothing in between!

Beautiful setting on a raunch but in a little jungle oasis. Very peaceful although there was occasional noise from the farm. Lots of birds to see and a little river with swimming hole 2 minutes walk. The host Lucia is a very lovley woman. There was some confusion as I thought I had booked for breakfast however I had not but she provided breakfast any way. Muchos gracias.
A small problem, only one burner works on the stove and some of the pans had to be washed before use as they had been stored dirty.

Lucia and her husband were fantastic; we felt incredibly welcomed by them. The breakfast provided by Lucia was also delicious! The whole accommodation was amazing too - the small things had been thought out to provide everything you needed in what is a remote location.
As the location is in the middle of nowhere, I would recommend having your own car to fully enjoy this place. Also, maybe bring earplugs because the monkeys can get loud at night!

The drive from the road needs to be taken slowly but is passable with care. The turning isn't obvious or clear from the main road.

The nature setting.
The name of the property was not properly marked on the entrance gate. Difficult to know whether you are in the right place.
They need to have a list of nearby activities for people to do…. like the palm tours, the butterfly farm. recommended restaurants.

De host was super sweet, she doesn't speak English but that's not a problem! The breakfast that she makes is also very delicious.

The location is superb. You are surrounded by nature. You will likely see and hear the howling monkeys and some nice birds. Also, it is great that you can prepare food on a wood-fired barbecue so make sure to bring some meat. There is also a place where you can make a bonfire in the evening. Throughout the day you have a river for yourself with refreshing water in which you can swim. The hosts were a very friendly couple and made nice breakfast at anytime. If you do not speak Spanish it is no problem, because Google translate can be used. The rooms and bathrooms itself are very clean and up-to-date with new equipment (e.g. Airco, Rain-shower) I would highly recommend to stay here as it is a unique experience in Costa Rica.
It is recommended to bring some cash in advance for the payment, because the ATM in the village nearby did not worked for me.

Lucia and her husband Jorge were absolutely wonderful hosts. They took us to the market when we needed food, they let us play with their horses and other animals, and they were extremely accommodating and lovely. we made very good friends with them.
As for the location, depending on what you want, it can be very nice for you. The river lodge is located in a rather secluded area away from civilization, so it is perfect for a getaway - idyllic and perfect for a working holiday or for some white space and time to relax. Still, it still has all the modern amenities you need (shower, hot water, kitchen). the environment is lovely, there are lots of birds, squirrels, and insects. Mosquitoes are aplenty though, and if you have a fear (or love) for cockroaches (the forest kind, not the types found in sewers), a cautionary note that you may expect to find some very big wood roaches (4 inches or larger).
You can also take a dip in the river, which is very refreshing.
I think our highlight was really about the natural getaway and the chance to chat with Lucia and Jorge about Costa Rica as well as to play with their animals.
There are many insects, but you can always buy a good mosquito or bug spray.

We stayed here as a pitstop between Tortegaro and La Fortuna. It's a cute place which is set back from the main road, by the river and amongst the trees and wildlife. There's a huge area outside the room to have a BBQ, wash up, cook and dine. Lucia is lovely and we communicated fine using Google translate. It's a comfortable stay with a lovely bathroom, safe, parking and outdoor seating.
We couldn't get hot water for two people, only enough for one person. It is VERY difficult to find on an evening. We were prepared for this but still took three attempts because you are driving along a main and busy road so can't really drive slowly and before you know it you've passed it. There needs to be clearly signage or lighting as it is pitch black and all you are looking for is a gate along a gravel entrance.

Our host Lucia was great and very service oriented. Location was great from nature perspective, spacious room and very nice outdoor area.
The location was further away from Sarapiqui than expected. The bathroom was very nice, but the water temperature was unpredictable and therefore risky, switching from cold to very very hot.

It was in the middle of pure nature. A beautiful place with only two rooms which makes it super unique and for yourself. The wildlife around is amazing and everything needed is facilitated.
The only minor inconvenience, which for us worked perfectly but is something to consider, is that the entrance from the road until the house is a 5 min drive through an unpaved road

Very quiet surrounded by trees… A birdwatchers paradise. We saw four new birds that we had not seen anywhere else on our travels in Costa Rica. It’s a really tranquil place

Everything. The position, in the forest, the sound of the river close by, the comfort, the kitchen, and the attention by Lucia - who did everything possible to make our stay as good as it could be. We could have stayed for a month - and we still might!

The setting is absolutely amazing in the rainforest, the cabins are so stunning and the set up is amazing! The lady who greets you is the nicest person we have met in Costa rica and we have written these reviews when we got home!
There is a river down the bottom where you can swim and have a walk which is beautiful! The lady also made us a lovely breakfast on the terrace which also made our morning!

the place is located inside a beautiful place with jungle and cows together. the rooms are renovated and has great bathrooms. the staff is very kind and welcoming. the owner gave us a great tip where to eat dinner. we recommend strongly on this place.
