What a find! With a group of 7 we needed a large house and this place delivered. Not only with plenty of beds but also living spaces so we weren’t in each other’s lap for the stay. It was beautifully appointed with everything we needed and easy access to all the usual haunts for tourists in the region.
Joanne, our hostess, provided insightful and thorough information both before our arrival and in booklets at the house
My adult kids loved the kangaroos coming to visit every day. We would definitely visit again if Joanne will host us.

It’s all about the views
Spectacular views from every room at the property. Peaceful escape for the family in a beautiful home. The fire in the evening was cosy the beds were comfortable. We all loved watching the birds around the property too.

A bush retreat
It was a very nice stay, couldn’t fault Joanna and her hospitality. The beds were comfortable and a great shower. We had a wedding at tiller farm so was only 7min drive

Family getaway
Joanna’s property is very secluded yet close to Dunsborough town and Yallingup beach. It is extremely comfortable, spacious and well appointed, with air conditioning and Wifi. Lots of local wildlife (especially kangaroos and beautiful birds) on your doorstep.

Amazing place to stay
We had an amazing time stay at For the Birds. Having our 6month old travel with us, we were surprised at just how accommodating the place was for children. The baby grand was the cherry on top to the entire experience, being able to place a couple of tunes made bedtime run smoothly. Will definitely be wanting to stay here again the next time we visit the South West. Thank you for having us!

Family getaway.
Was a beautiful house with lots of space and functional rooms. Allowed everyone to enjoy time together or have a little bit of their own space shed desired. Lovely waking up to the birds every day. Would highly recommend this place to everyone.

For The Birds
Property is beautifully positioned with views down green pastures to the ocean beyond. Lots of kangaroos come twilight time. Property itself is very comfortable & has a lovely feel ( you can tell it’s a much loved family home). Lovely spot & wouldn’t hesitate to return. Joanna is very helpful & informative.

A breath of fresh air
Our beautiful Yallingup siding property was exactly what we were looking for, as a group of 2 families with kids over summer. The house is spacious, clean and so well equipped and the location is in a special pocket with serenity and gorgeous valley views to the ocean yet within easy reach of Yallingup, Dunsborough or Margs.
Joanna was a wonderful host - easy to contact and lots of detail about the property and the local area.
We will happily book again!

Fabulous "For the Birds"
We loved our stay at this home. Our time away was set amongst such peace, tranquility and comfort. I loved just sitting and watching nature unfold. The home is also centrally located and close to magnificent wineries. We will definitely be back - but not soon enough.

Magnificent sprawling peaceful home
Joanna has been an incredible host - email communication has been prompt and instructions have been spot on. The home is neat, decorated beautifully with super comfy furniture and stylish art work. It has everything and above that you would need for a home away from home stay (coffee machine, curling iron - yes!) The home interacts with nature so well with many wall to floor windows throughout the house. The baby grand piano is an absolute bonus and we enjoyed a good family jamming session around it. Beautiful memories made and will definitely be back - often..

Very Welcoming Property
We thoroughly enjoyed our family holiday at "For The Birds". The property was spacious and well appointed. It was comfortable and an easy home in which to relax. The outside space was fabulous with its views to the valley and fields and plenty of space for children to enjoy. The tree swings were an added bonus. It was an easy drive to nearby attractions and a lovely haven to come home to after enjoying those attractions. We highly recommend it.

gorgeous location and views
Beautifully located amongst farmland and state forest with views down the rolling paddocks to Geographe Bay. Loved watching the kids play and run around outside, listening to the many song birds and seeing kangaroos at dusk time. Gorgeous wild flowers all around. Kids enjoyed playing the baby grand piano. It was still chilly, so we chopped wood and got the fireplace going, which heated up the room perfectly. The house was very roomy for us, a family of 5 and found it a perfect place to entertain friends outside with the view. We did find the internal layout a little cumbersome, with many doors and no direct outdoor access from the kitchen area, so it didn't 'flow' as well as we thought the location and view would warrant... Overall a very enjoyable stay!

The Perfect Home for a getaway
For the Birds was the perfect home for our big family getaway! Very comfortable for 3 couples and 2 children. We watched the kangaroos from the dining room in the morning. The wood burning heaters kept us very cosy even on the coldest nights. The house is so spacious, we had all had space without sitting on top of each other! The kitchen was well equipped to to stay in and cook. The location is perfect. Would absolutely recommend For the Birds and plan to book again!

Wonderful, wonderful property
I don’t know where to begin to explain how great this house was. We had three families staying and so having 3 bedrooms with 1 king and two queen beds was brilliant for the adults. The linen was clean and fresh and the whole house was very neat and tidy. The kitchen was better equipped than I have ever known a holiday house to be. The coffee machine was a welcome item! Two fridges were good too with such big families. The bathrooms were a great size and the showers were to die for! Great pressure of water.
The surrounds of the house are beautiful. Kangaroos and mist was the morning view. Lovely walks around too and great bird life. We have lovely little red wrens visiting us.
It is only a 15 minute drive to various eating spots so its location is perfect.
Communication with the owner was very good.
We will definitely be returning visitors.
5 stars all the way around.

Tranquil Setting
We thoroughly enjoyed our 7 day break at "For the Birds". The house is comfortable and well equipped. There are wonderful views across rolling paddocks to the ocean. The peace & tranquility was well appreciated. The name didn't disappoint us either. There were plenty of birds to enjoy. Beautiful Splendid Wrens, Golden Whistlers, Yellow-Rumped Thornbills, Wedge-Tailed Eagle, Baudin's Black Cockatoos... just to mention a few. The kangaroos were numerous as well. We look forward to returning to "For the Birds" some time soon.

Serene stay in the forest
We stay for 3 nights and enjoyed it so much. There's 2 TV space, a grand piano, fully equipped kitchen with fantastic view, 4 comfortable size bedrooms, laundry with washer and dryer, clean bathrooms and big open space outdoor for roaming around catching kangaroos (Hahahaha!!). The only problem is the location was abit distant from town Centre, it takes about 15 mins drive to the nearest attraction. Overall everything was absolutely wonderful. Thank you to the owners for letting us stay!

Great Family Home
Absolutely wonderful home for a family or group of friends. Central to everything but no neighbours, stars at night were amazing. For the Birds is very clean and very functional, plenty of towels and linen, the kitchen is more than well equipped - two fridges and even an espresso coffee machine. Communication with the owner was also exceptionally good. Couldn't wish for anything more. Thanks Joanna.

Wonderful and relaxing retreat
We had a really relaxing and comfortable stay. The property was very well equipped and spacious and is be of the nicest we've stayed at in the Yallingup area. We loved watching the roos in the early mornings and playing duets on the pianos. We will definitely be coming back, many thanks Joanna!

A wonderful stay in a wonderful location!
We had a lovely winter stay at For the Birds in July 2015. We took my Canadian father down south to show him the beautiful wine region and I specifically looked for a secluded location that would have some kangaroos visit. True to form, For the Birds was a truly beautiful property with valley views to the ocean and plenty of local wildlife, including the roos, visiting daily. The house is large and well equipped with plenty of rooms for family members to escape and even have a play of the pianos. Thanks again for a wonderful stay :)

Fantastic Family Holiday
We stayed from 9-19/1/2015...and loved it! Fantastic house, fantastic facilities, fantastic property and fantastic location.
The kids had a ball wandering the paddocks, meeting the sheep and bush exploring. Great house for a large group or even 2 families. Great base for Margaret River, Dunsborough, Bussleton or Yallingup.
