Hotel and staff great but restaurant was a disaster. Eat somewhere else.

The overall hotel appearance is great with the front bar area a good place to sit and have a drink. The swimming pool area in the spa is spectacular. Staff also very good and welcoming.

The major disappointment was the food in the restaurant. My carpaccio starter was drowned in a rich pesto sauce (!) which meant that was all you could taste - disgusting. My tuna tataki main meal was drowned in soya sauce which made it inedible and it was returned. My wife’s meal of chicken and pasta was cold and again, this was returned to the kitchen. On the table next to us, the person also seemed to leave most of her salad! In simple terms, dinner in the restaurant was a disaster.

Cadre majestueux et luxueux. Piscine magnifique et originale

Parking extérieur payant nous obligeant à porter les bagages sur une centaine de mètres avant d’entrer dans l’hôtel. Pas d’activité proposée, billard, jeux. Absence de jardin.

Superbe hôtel avec du cachet au centre de Valenciennes, personnel agréable et efficace. Superbe et grande piscine. Très bon restaurant. Très bon petit déjeuner. Chambre confortable. Un réel moment de détente !!

Ontspannend en rustgevend

Zeer mooi en comfortabel hotel met een groot en mooi zwembad. Mooi ingerichte en ruime kamers. Grote en gezellige bar. Heel rustig en aangenaam om er te verblijven. Heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel.

Un magnifique hôtel pour une parenthèse de détente

Un magnifique hôtel dans le centre-ville de Valenciennes. Des chambres spacieuses, très bonne literie, Le spa (sauna, hammam, piscine) en illimité est top. Bars et restaurants sur place, très bien et qualitatifs. Tout est beau !!!!

Parking payant, mais on peut se garer facilement dans la rue. Pour le spa: dommage que la piscine soit accessible aux enfants....Je ne vous parle pas des décibels avec ce sous-sol vouté! il manquerait aussi du thé/tisane. Je ne sais pas si je parlerai d'un bon rapport qualité/prix. On a quand même payé plus de 300€ notre nuit à Valenciennes!

Bel endroit, très bien situé, mais pas au niveau de service qu'on pourrait attendre d'un 4*

Hôtel très bien situé dans Valenciennes, à pied du centre ville. Très bel endroit, avec un espace SPA vraiment très agréable. Le lieu, l'architecture étaient incroyables.

le personnel présent n'est pas totalement à l'écoute : -à l'arrivée, je suis entrée pour savoir que faire en matière de parking (je n'avais pas trouvé l'information sur le site de l'hotel, si un panneau existe à l'extérieur il est peu visible) il a fallu au moins 10 minutes pour qu'on me porte un regard à la réception. -aucune information sur l'infrastructure (les lieux, les horaires...) ne nous a été donné au checkin. -nous avons souvent eu l'impression d'être "invisibles" pour la réception malgré du personnel présent, mais occupé à autre chose (pas forcément avec des clients....) -quelques minutes avant la fermeture du bar, impossible de commander, les lieux étaient fermés et le personnel nous a clairement indiqué que ce n'était pas possible (sans même nous proposer une alternative en room service...) la grandeur des lieux, l'accueil de nombreux clients extérieurs pour le SPA, les restaurants... ne permet surement pas aux client de l'hôtel d'être accueilli comme il faudrait.

Beautiful hotel in Valenciennes, converted from a hospital, with excellent facilities.

Beautifully converted building from a hospital into a very nice hotel. Good location, easy walk to restaurants and shops. Very nice pool.

Wouldn’t stay again

Breakfast was good with few guests in an enormous cavernous dining room

Reception staff unwelcoming Hotel seemed too huge to accommodate the small number of guests, despite being told the hotel was full!

Not a pleasant stay

we’ve stayed before and really enjoyed the spa. It’s architecturally very impressive

We booked just one night in our return to UK from visiting friends in Belgium . The check in time of 4pm was a little late for us but the supplement to bring forward just one hour was expensive at €40 We were staying on the night that France was playing in the World Cup final which might explain whey the hotel couldn’t find an engineer to fix the heating . We couldn’t take a shower before dinner and sat in the restaurant with our coats on ( other dinners had decided to take their coats with them too )I spoke repeatedly to reception who offered no apology , just told me that someone was working on it . A more open acknowledgment of the problem would have been appreciated

Good, but could still do better

Stunning rooms, nice Italian restaurant with lovely food, and a great swimming pool. Atrium bar also very impressive. incredible building which they've done a great job to convert.

Bed was hard, but the staff righted that by fitting a mattress topper. Food in the brasserie was no better than average, the chicken in my wife's Caesar salad was barely cooked.

Fabulous facilities and hotel. Highly recommend.

The finish of the hotel and quality is excellent. Like many places I think hospitality staff are missing slightly. The facilities are fabulous and I would highly recommend. It's nice to have an assortment of restaurants and it is close to the town centre so you can visit other bars and food outlets. The spa facilities are fabulous.

The water bottles of the last guests were still in the room and it could have just been finished and fridge replenished before we were given access to the room.

Stunning Hotel

The building is breath taking. It's absolutely beautiful. Very well decorated with a great attention to details. The restaurant serve great food and the staff is so niceee. The cocktails are so tasty and the bar staff very accommodating.

Check in at 4 pm seems a little late considering the prices you pay per nights. More toiletries should be added in the showers such as body lotion. The pool is just wonderful. Point to mention during my stay is that there was no jacuzzi in the pool area or maybe it was not working.

It was our second visit. We had so much enjoyed our first that it was a greatly anticipated return. it did not disappoint: everything - the welcome, the room, the pool, the food, was just as good - and that meant it was very good!
