About this house rental
This home is a large open space perfect for entertaining and communing. It is just outside of the little historic river hamlet of Rabbit Hash. The house was built by Ed Unterreiner, the same builder that rebuilt the Rabbit Hash General Store after the devastating fire of 2016. The modern rustic house is full of salvaged materials and building gems. It is really a must see.
Rabbit Hash is conveniently located 20 minutes from I-75, 20 minutes to the Creation Museum, 30 minutes from the ark and just a 5 minute ferry ride across the Ohio River from Rising Star Casino in Rising Sun, Indiana.
It has a fully equipt kitchen, sleeping accommodations for 4 people comfortably. There is only one bathroom on the first floor with a shower and there is an outdoor shower for summer use only. The driveway is shared but the orientation of the house offers much privacy with alarge covered porch facing in the opposite direction.

As you opened the door upon entry, the feel of an old world, country home illuminated. The decor was fun & had a story to share as you looked at each piece & how it was displayed. Terrie has a knack for bringing the past with the future.
The new build was that of older, recycled material giving it more of an authentic feel of the old world, as indicated. The decor, linens, pillows with old country offered a different flair to the common weekend rental. You can tell that Terrie put deep thought & time into the display & build of the home to share with others.
Overall, the privacy was not as we would have liked with sheer curtains & owners/hosts being next door made for a bit uncomfortable situation in our opinion, but others have indicated this was not an issue for them so consider this an anomaly. We did experience carpenter ants, which Terrie graciously tried to resolve immediately during our stay which was greatly appreciated. We recognize these situations are out of control of homeowners especially with all the rain, but feel others should know of the situation they may endure as that is what reviews are for.
A Little House on the Prairie was how I deem the feel. Overall average, but the home did provide the simplicity of living merged with the hustle & bustle of todays living.

Lovely, rural home with tons of charm! Definitely one of a kind. My family and I totally enjoyed our stay in this unique, eclectic home. We will book again for sure!

This unique home is tucked away in the rolling hills of KY and is a short drive from the airport. It’s also conveniently located between both the Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum. The property is very quiet and private and has everything you might need to make your stay comfortable. Terrie responded to any needs we had and takes great pride in maintaining the property. You won’t find another place like it!

I would have happily stayed for a week! Our experience was just divine. The cabin is cozy and clean and gorgeous and well-stocked. We are looking forward to returning. If I could give 10 stars, I would.

This place was a wonderful little getaway, remotely tucked into the hillside!

This property is like staying in a piece of art. Beautiful surroundings, everything you need for a quiet getaway in the hills of Kentucky. The stairs to the upstairs sleeping area are tricky and require practice; however, there is a hideaway bed on the first level if you don't want to do stairs. Just lovely in every way.

Beautiful cabin with plenty of room. It was a little more remote than we had anticipated. 25-30 min. Away from creation museum and 45 min. From the Ark. the driveway was very rough to get up. All bedrooms are upstairs. We slept on a fold out sofa downstairs due to the “odd” construction of the stairs. Not recommended for small children. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would come back.
We loved the historic area of Rabbit Hash!

Beautiful cabin, beautiful location close to a very cool little historic area completely unlike any other historic area. Definitely planning on taking the kid here for a week in the summer.

We really enjoyed our stay at this rustic cabin. We used it as a central location for a visit to the area for The Creation Museum and The Ark Encounter. Then spent a couple of days exploring the Northern Kentucky area. It served it’s purpose well. There were two items that MIGHT be an issue for a family with small children or elderly adults. The steps up to the loft are very steep to conserve space and the water is on a cistern so consumption must be watched. We had no problems with these ourselves but could see where they might need to be considered for people in different situations than ours. Also, be aware we have T-Mobile and had no cell reception while in the house we did have internet so we were fine. We actually really really enjoyed our stay here!

Nice stay
Nice place, just as described. The bed was a little squeaky, which wasn't ideal for a restless sleeper, but we enjoyed our stay.

Definitely would stay here again
Terri was very prompt in answering questions before we entered the property. The cabin was even more amazing than the picture give credit for. I loved all the unique art and reused building pieces of the cabin. The cabin was very room yet cozy at the same time. The location of the cabin was perfect for the daily outings we had planned. Loved, loved , loved our stay!

Fantastic lil town - Rabbit Hash is a hidden gem! Food, wine, and General Store. Also, close to both the Ark and Creation Museum. Wonderful place to stay! NOT FOR ANYONE WITH A DISABILITY.

Fun and eclectic place!
Our small family had a great time at Terrie’s place. She was very friendly and accommodating. Outside we hiked, enjoyed the fire pit and the amazingly quiet night with a beautiful starry sky and the most awesome blankets to keep us warm. Inside we lounged on the comfy sofa, cooked on the old stove and played guitar. The beds were a little short for my 6’2” hubby but my 10 year old and I slept great. If we are ever in the area again, we will be coming back to this awesome house!

Traveling through
Traveling home - this was a halfway point stop for an overnight sleep. We easily could have stayed several days here - everything about Terri's home encourages relaxation. Terri was an excellent host. We truly enjoyed the unique surroundings and peace and quiet of the place. Rabbit Hash was a wonderful surprise - a must-see! Thanks, Terri - we hope to pass this way in the future!

Great trip to get away from it all
My husband and I had a great time just getting away from it all. We did a little hiking, a little reading, and a lot of relaxing. Terri was great at getting back to us quickly when we needed to reach her about some minor needs at the house. Overall, we really enjoyed our time and would consider staying here again in the future if we are in the area.

Perfect getaway
This was the perfect spot for our trip to the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter! Every inch of this cabin is pure art and you can tell that Terrie put her heart and soul into each decoration and design. We went when it was cold and snowy and our rental car wouldn’t make it up the drive. Terrie personally made sure we had a ride up and down the driveway and took great care to make sure we had every amenity we needed. The town of Rabbit Hash is very charming, and we are so glad we found this little tucked away gem!!

Log Cabin Great After Skiing at Perfect North
My husband and I (in our 30's) stayed here after a day of skiing at Perfect North slopes. We liked the place and had a great visit. The one thing I would note is the stairs are steep and narrow so I would be cautious for an elderly person or children to stay here. But for young adults, great place to stay!

We went to perfect north to ski and then stayed here. Terri is so helpful and the cabin was so unique and cozy perfect for a day trip

Refreshing and Inspiring
This place is so magical. It has all the cozy vibes but the cabin itself is a work of art. You can tell everything has been thought out. We spent one night there- playing games, reading, and talking by the fire :) Highly recommended! The pictures don't do justice.

So cute
This place is cute, with unique paintings and tapestries on the walls, crystals and incense in the windows. The bathroom is big, the upstairs has to cute bedrooms. Very quiet and private. Would love to have a home just like it one day. Thank you we will be back!

Charming Retreat
My family had a wonderful overnight stay in this charming cabin. So many interesting and historic items, a cozy wood stove, rainfall shower head, and lovely porch facing the woods. The owner should add pictures of the two adorable upstairs bedrooms to the listing, as well as the amazing rock shower! My only suggestions are to add a microwave, dust the wheel lights, and remove the uncomfortable old springs from the dining seats. Everything else was perfect! Will return!

Wonderful and cozy cabin
My wife and I stumbled upon this place and we couldn’t’ve been happier with it. It was better than expected in all ways. We had a bit of snow on Christmas and it blanketed the property in the morning. Walking down to the historic town was a highlight of the day and was truly beautiful. Book this place now if you’re looking for a cozy place.

1 Day Get Away
Better than expected. Never turned on the TV. Just stayed 1 night, but lit a fire and warmed up, played cards and talked to my wife. No interruptions, no kids, no phones..... no problems.
What a great stay in a cool place.
