About this cabin rental
> WELCOME TO STRADDIE BEACH CABIN
Life is good at the beach!
There are very few north facing beaches on the east coast. The best thing about Point Lookout is that if one beach is a bit blown-out, just go around the corner to another beautiful beach. North Straddie offers many options for your holiday.
Straddie Beach Cabin is a secluded free-standing eco cabin (Shack 18) that offers privacy within the island's premier resort. Located at beautiful Home Beach in Point Lookout, it is set in leafy natural surrounds and caters for singles and couples. It has everything needed to make your stay a pleasurable one, with most of the islands attractions nearby.
The stylish architect designed high-set one-bedroom eco cabin offers a practical, inspirational design, with a mezzanine bedroom featuring a queen size bed. There are two additional single foam mattresses and a portable folding cot stored in the cabin. The cabin is air-conditioned with open plan lounge/dining. It is self contained with a modern kitchenette, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, big screen plasma TV, DVD/CD & Foxtel service. A medium size Weber Q barbeque stands on the extended rear deck which is secluded by a beautiful natural screen of native greenery. A beach umbrella and two beach chairs are kept in the cabin for guests to use. A small collection of grocery staples and a small supply of cleaning items is also kept on-site. All linen is supplied for two guests. A complimentary room clean and fresh linen is provided for stays longer than 7 days.
A late check-out may be available on request.
Guests have access to the resort's pool (one of the best on the island) and a small gymnasium.
Wireless internet access is available from reception at reasonable rates and the great on-site Cafe offers great breakfasts, lunches, woodfired pizza and a quality barista.
In the words of a recent guest: "We absolutely loved Stradbroke - our first visit and thought your beach shack was great, especially the deck which made it very private. It was a perfect place to stay. We would certainly ask for No 18 if we were to return".
Feel free to have a look at our other guest comments!
Straddie has something for everyone including great surf beaches, 4WD beach access, fishing, sand boarding & scuba diving. Straddie scenic walks, whale & dolphin watching, adventure sports and activities, golf, Aboriginal cultural tours and demonstrations, bird watching, and much more.
Its beaches are some of the best in the country!
Listed as one of the world's most ecologically important wetlands, there are several freshwater lakes and lagoons to explore.

Harry was easy to communicate with at any time. The property had plenty of extra's that made it a great beach stay - boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrella. There were games and books as well. Plenty of kitchenware to put together meals. Deck was spacious and had a lovely outlook. Shack 18 is located far enough from the main road that there is no noise. Would recommend and would stay again - thank you

The property needs some love and attention, but overall we made the most of it.

Details for check in well communicated as was availability of hosts - but didn’t need to contact as everything was as described. Lovely beach shack for a relaxing break away.

Cute comfy villa within walking distance of Adder, pub, and gorge walk. Excellent amenities. Quiet and leafy. Harry was easily contactable. The only suggestion we have is to fix the front door handle.

The cabin was very quaint. Great location across from a beautiful beach. Wifi password was not noted anywhere. Emailed owner and he responded quickly with it.

Admittedly I was a bit worried by the review that came a few days before we arrived, but the place was great and clean. Harry was also really helpful with my questions on the first day, but after that it was smooth sailing and well worth the price we paid.
It was as the pictures show. Kitchen, fridge, utensils/cooking gear, and stove all worked great and were clean. Only used the bed upstairs which was comfortable. Couches just needed a cushion under you when sitting on them because they are a little worn internally, but we really didn’t spend much time on the couch when we had the island to explore and enjoy.
Not sure what else to add other than to repeat that we were very happy with our stay and didn’t have any complaints. Maybe a note is to keep the bathroom door closed always so flies can’t get into the house.

The property shower had mold and the water ran down the curtain all over the bathroom floor. The tea towels were dirty, the washer left in the bathroom was threadbare and full of holes. The fan was filthy and we didn't use the blinds as they were also filthy and obviously hadn't been used for a long time. The t.v only had foxtel and was faulty . The lighting in the apartment was very dim. The two lounges are well past their use by date with little to no padding and harsh to sit on . We needed to use the pull out lounge/beds to sleep on as a back injury prevented using the stairs to get to the bed. The spare mattresses were so thin that it made little to no difference to feeling every bar in the lounge frame. This unit was not suitable as a comfortable place to stay, particularly being older. Not value for money.

It was very pleasant. we liked the bush around the shack and the short walk through paperbark and vine forest to the beach is lovely. we walked to the pub for dinner and back in the dark. You can hear the sea at night when you sink into the comfortable bed. Only down thing is getting down the stairs to the toilet in the middle of the night! And there is a line down the centre of the TV. Small things.

Stradbroke Island stay
We liked the architectural design and location of the beach hut, but had some difficulty each time with the front door lock. We don't do Foxtel so did not use the tv. Overall, enjoyed our brief stay.

Quickly resolved problems
On arrival we found the front door lock broken and the apartment not cleaned from the last guests. Although inconvenient, a call to the owner quickly resolved these problems. We liked the location and would stay again.

We'll be back!
The shack and its appointments were as described by owner and adequate. Conveniently situated with a park across the road and a short walk to Home Beach. The cafe/bar serves excellent food with the proprietors being very friendly and helpful. Our only complait would be the gym equipment most of which needs maintenance.

Lovely Beach Shack
We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing stay in this lovely beach shack, the beach is across the road, koalas at our back deck, cafes and shops close by. Would highly recommend staying here.

Not very clean - Dust everywhere, hair everywhere, sand everywhere. Limited supply of condiments - had to purchase own toilet paper, washing powderLack of privacy - No curtains or cover on sliding door, allowing people walking past to see every inch of the property.Unfinished renovations - Walls were covered up with tape, couch covers unfinished wall. No access to wifi Overall, given our location and easy access to everything; the trip was not horrible. However, when you’re travelling with someone who is allergic to dust, it ruins the trip. It doesn’t look like the owner makes an effort to clean up.

Beautiful Straddie
The beach shack is a good size, and has all the things you need. It's looking a little weary in places, as is the Resort Cafe. But the pool is brilliant and the general location great.

Great little beach shack
We had a great stay in Harry’s beach shack. It was generally clean and tidy and all essential were provided. The property was very small but manageable for three and we didn’t spend much time there so it was fine. The queen bed was very comfortable and I had great sleep listening to the sound of the ocean. The only concern was the amount of built up dust throughout and mouldy spare mattresses. Needless to say we didn’t use them and our third person slept on the sofa bed. The sofas were also very uncomfortable so lucky we spent most of our time on the beach. Even with those minor issues we had a a great stay. The place was in a great location and comfortable enough for a short stay.
On a side note, the a/c is in desperate need of a clean. It appeared extremely mouldy but this didn’t impact us as we didn’t need it. The shack did get quite hot during the day so a/c would definitely be necessary during warmer weather.

I wafor the price I was disappointed that there was no soap to wash yourself on the thrfooom.
I think the fan looks quite rusted and can be a hazard as I’ve scene one before that the blades come off while on that was that rusted
The fridge takes a long time to cool your things also no compartments on the door you were limited to cool things as milk and juice
No soap in the bathroom meant I had to go out late to get some for the price I expected at least a bar of soap.

Little Oasis
Allure is tranquil, serene and just what you need on Stradbroke Island. An affordable little Shak with all the amenities, and loads of personality. Plus the owner is so easy to deal with & prompt with communication. Super easy to book and stay. No doubt we will return!

Lovely Place & Convenient
We had a lovely time, Straddie is very laid back (don't expect meals to arrive quick when ordering out)
The cabin had everything we needed, some light globes needed changing, hands soaps re-filled and some instructions for the TV/ DVD player could of helped as it was rainy weather we had quiet a bit of chill out time and couldn't work out the sound for the DVD.
The resort itself was nice and quiet you truly feel like you have your own little oasis the way the cabin decks are set up into the bushy areas.
The bed & pillows are so comfy which was perfect for me being heavily pregnant, I slept the best I have in months.
The pool area is lovely, plenty of seating to chill out on, the beach is so close and so beautiful.
Being able to lock the key in the box each time was so convenient as we could both come and go as we please and we didn't risk losing them while out & about.
Thanks Harry we will recommend your place to family & friends

2 Adults & Twin Toddlers
We stayed here for a week with our 1 year old twins.
Enough room upstairs for two portacots which is fantastic, terrace has a fence all the way around which is also amazing as the kids could go out without us having to worry & all kitchen equipment was already supplied.
House does need a good clean in the hard to reach places like under the couch, above shower, etc
We loved our stay & would definitely go back in a heartbeat.
