This unique home offers comfort, cleanliness and a real sense of home, complete with modern furnishings. The fully equipped kitchen is essential in Topanga. The outdoor dining area makes for a romantic evening. Enjoy soaking in the tub, surrounded by foliage, at the end of the day. Catch the sunset dipping over the mountains from a short hike up the back hill.
**Please note at the moment the lower section of Topanga Canyon Blvd is blocked and there is no direct access from PCH driving north on Topanga Canyon Blvd to the house. There are 3 routes still available to reach our property:
1. From the 101 driving south onto Topanga Canyon Blvd
2. From PCH you can go north on Los Flores Canyon Blvd to where it meets up with Topanga Canyon Blvd
3. (Only from our house to PCH) Take Topanga Canyon Blvd south to Tuna Canyon Rd to PCH
Please note: we are off Topanga Canyon Blvd so you will hear some typical street noise from passing cars during the day, though at night it is rather quiet.
Family bookings: we have listed under the booking rules that we do not accept babies/children since we have some decor which is not well-suited for kids as well as a high-end white couch that could be stained. If you would still like to book, we are happy to welcome you, but please note that you will be fully responsible for any damaged/broken items or stained furniture, which may be quite pricey (and could exceed the deposit).
Please note there are three separate buildings on this property that share a parking area (each with 2 reserved spots each). Each has its own private outdoor area--we welcome you to hike up the hill at the back of the property to access the hiking trails, but please respect the privacy of each unit's private outdoor space (which is clearly separated).
There is a personal washer-dryer, which makes all the difference for longer stays.
The State Park access is right out the door up the hill, offering ideal access into endless trails, stunning views and a good chance of spotting California wildlife.
The property is right on Topanga Canyon Blvd, so it's easy to hop on the main drag, grab a coffee en route to the beach at Topanga Living Cafe, breakfast at Topanga Table, or enjoy a romantic dinner at the magical Inn of the Seventh Ray. Directly across the street is Topanga Creek Outpost, where you can rent bikes to go on an adventure. We are 10 minutes from the beach/PCH, 10 minutes from Woodland Hills/101 Fwy, 20 minutes from Santa Monica/Venice, 15 minutes to Malibu and 25 minutes from Studio City.
A car is recommended for getting around in the Topanga area.
There are two other rental houses on the property but all are privately situated. This house has its yard and washer/dryer as well as a separate parking area. We respect your space, however we are of course available to answer any questions or provide recommendations.
Topanga offers the best of both worlds: a small town tucked in nature within the bustling city of LA. It has always been a creative haven, inspiring artists, nature lovers, families, spirit seekers and business folk who desire a break from the city at the end of the day. There is much to explore within the Topanga area, from biking and hiking to surfing and swimming. Also, a perfect place to write, read, wind down and enjoy the stars.

We love the house & patio. The easy ingress/egress from the canyon. This is our 3rd straight year staying in Redwood House.

Very comfortable. Owner/property manager thought of everything. I would stay here again.
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. It was clean, cosy and exceeded expectations in terms of provisions for food preparation (basics such as salt, sugar, spices, etc.), entertainment (tv channels, books, Internet and games) and comfort both inside and outside of the property (water feature, outdoor seating and hammock). I did my grocery shopping before arriving at the place and realized afterwards that I had forgotten a few items. I was pleasantly surprised that the owner had already stocked the place with those items and much more! It's in close proximity to gorgeous hiking locations. I highly recommend this property and would stay there again.

Nestled among trees in the canyon, yet convenient to LA
We enjoyed our stay at the Redwood house. The outdoor seating with strung party lights overhead was where we first spent our time at the house, before moving inside to prepare dinner. Kitchen appliances are top-notch as we prepared all of our meals for our Getty get-away weekend. On our first morning there, we hiked out the front door and up the property to Topanga State Park and enjoyed exploring those trails. The house is conveniently located between the Getty Center and the Getty Villa, so the location was perfect for our trip. One bedroom has a king size bed as advertised. The bed in the other bedroom seemed to be full size, rather than queen. Both beds were super comfortable. We would stay here again.

Photos are lovely; reality is even better
Put simply, this Topanga ranch home is an absolute gem. Photos on the Vrbo website initially drew me to book this oasis of a home early -- two months before my daughters and I planned our trip to LA. Upon our arrival, we discovered that the beauty of the photos were not only accurate, but that they actually undersold the breathtaking beauty of the space -- both indoors and outside. I've been using Vrbo regularly to book vacation homes since 2015, and this Topanga treasure ranks in the top three.

Secluded and comfy
Was close to all activities we had going. We did a few little minor repairs, screen coming out of screen door, food left in cabinet had spoiled so we cleaned and removed from
House…the house was very comfortable and roomy. Loved sitting out on the patio in the evening. Area was quiet except for the occasional motorcycle going up the Hwy. We would stay again.

Beautiful place but problems
Communication before and during our stay was inconsistent.
We discovered bedbugs in both of our rooms, and were told to evacuate before our stay was complete. We received a partial refund and we have been told the issue has been resolved.
Although a great location and well decorated, the hassle and added expense of having to decontaminate all of our belongings before returning home all but ruined our vacation. We will not be returning to this location.

Tranquility in Topanga
This property was an amazing spot to get away for a few days. Great space for a visit with our adult children. Loved having the outdoor space and hiking trails on the property. Close to PCH so we could go see the beaches, eat and shop in Mailbu.

My new go to!
The property was perfect! The hike to the state park is very convenient. We had coffee with a six point buck our first morning and a bobcat the next! My son enjoyed hiking the channel islands while I enjoyed the canyon. We have family in the area so it's a very convenient location.
The only issue was on the part of vrbo who totally messed up the check in process! Thankfully, Sara was able to help!

Topanga House
Everything about the Topanga house was great. 2 big bedrooms and a huge den to hang out. House was extremely clean and filled with everything we needed. I will look to stay again when visiting Topanga.

We loved our stay in Topanga, CA.
We had a great stay in Topanga. Our host was really helpful and provided lots of information to us as guests. We felt like we could reach out with any questions if we needed to... We love hiking so we were very happy we able to access trails right from the property. We also enjoyed the beaches nearby. We will be back!
