We had a great girls weekend staying here! The house was plenty spacious for the five of us to be comfortable and loved using the outdoor spaces as well. The house was very well maintained and fully stocked. We also loved the location, the beach is right across the street and we took many walks up and down the island. Bill was easy to communicate with and always responded fast. We loved the cottage and would definitely stay here again!

This is our 4 th year staying here. It’s just across the road from the beach, so that location couldn’t be much better!
The house could use some updates, but we’re likely to be back again next year.
Bill always responds promptly.

This house checked all the boxes for us: A/C, 1.5 baths, upstairs deck, outdoor shower, grill, proximity to beach. The house is clean - some fixtures (e.g. couch) are getting old, but overall a great value and great place to stay!

I love this house. It's very inviting and comfortable.
Just a quick walk to the beach. I highly recommend this house for your vacation. You will not be disappointed

Great location and second floor deck has a great view and lots of room.

The location is wonderful, having an outdoor shower is nice. Upstairs deck is awesome.
We didn’t enjoy the ants or the beds, pillows or sheets. There was also a shortage of drinking glasses (instead there were plastic type glasses).
The house didn’t appear overly clean to us.

Great place to stay within short walk to the beach and short drive to Merrimack River and Nature Preserve. Well stocked with everything needed for the weeks stay.

The property was perfect for me and my college roommate and our spouses. We had an amazing walk on the beach and breakfast at Mad Martha's. The house was fantastic with dark wood that felt very "camp like" and two modern bedrooms and very clean. The host was the best and let us in early! Would definitely return!

Two month stay, off season, solo.
Good: Beach across street; ample room for just me; excellent town a bike ride away; enjoyable balcony for work or chilling when weather agreeable; dining area to work or friends over for dinner; grill & laundry; TV for NCAA tourney; owner is communicative, cordial, provides info. A lot to like.
Challenging: Picture being offered a stay at your uncle’s cabin. Sounds great: you’ll kick back, relax. But your uncle’s rarely there and things get neglected. My experience: disrepair (e.g.: 2 bedrooms w 4 entry light switches - only 1 works), cleanliness questions (mold, shelf spills), disheveled (broken cabinets, furniture), disorganized (kitchen). Even my arrival found me fumbling for a functional light switch, then fixing the problem. A frustrated first week, even before the leaks...
Heavy leaks from front windows during first rough storms of my stay were annoying. But understandable: problem thought addressed via repairs, testing showed it wasn’t. To me, however, the other items above, less understandable; similarly was leaving it to me to offer a leak remedy. But my suggestion was accepted, owner took action, leaks stopped.
I expect – and hope – others will continue enjoying their stays. As noted, much to like. The rest was also my experience. My 2nd vrbo stay, but extensive use of main competitor and others. I had looked forward to this 2nd long term stay in the area, but didn’t match my hosted experiences..

We needed a place for two nights over the Memorial Day weekend as we were attending a wedding. Plum Island beach cottage looked inviting in the ad, and would satisfy our family’s needs. We found the HOME charming, clean, and all the amenities listed were there and in good order. The house was located directly across the street from the ocean and was convenient to local restaurants. I would highly recommend staying at Plum Island Beach cottage. Bill, the property manager, was accessible when needed, and allowed us a late checkout again to meet our needs.

Beautiful home with a great view of the ocean from the deck. Wonderful location with plenty of parking. We stayed a month here in the winter and they had everything you would need for a long term or short term rental. Easy to work with the owners and plenty of privacy.

We had a lovely time at your cottage. It is beautiful home with an upstairs deck that was one my favorite parts of the home. On some days, there was a beautiful breeze, and it was relaxing place to be at the end of the day. First floor was nice as well. It had all the amenities to cook in and a clean grill to cook on.

This cottage was perfect for our family vacation on Plum Island. We’ll stock, comfortable with a nice out door second floor deck and a short walk to the beach across the road.

The house was clean, comfy and convenient, also well equipped with cooking supplies and beach chairs, etc. and a quick walk to the beach. The gorgeous weather didn't hurt, and the beach wasn't crowded a bit, even on the long weekend.

We flew in from NC for my Nephews wedding in Newburyport! This was the perfect location it was close to church. Beautiful beaches, beautiful cottage, and it had everything we needed for our short trip! We loved the cottage, maybe we could come back to visit in the future! Out trip was too short. Beautiful place

Great property
4.0
The property is great and actually much more spacious than the pictures show. I came with my family and there was definitely enough space for group hangs and privacy. The views were great and this place is probably an absolute dream In the summer. The kitchen was super well stocked with dishes and cook ware. However, we stayed over Christmas and it seemed like the house was not really prepared for our stay. There was some trouble with a leaky roof the first night. That being said Bill was super responsive despite being out of state. We were even partially refunded a portion of our stay very easily. The heat doesn’t seem to reach all rooms if it’s cold, but that seems to just be a fact of these types of beach houses.

Owner was extremely responsive and helpful. The house is very clean and has everything you could possibly need. We stayed for a week and were absolutely thrilled with all aspects of the home and it's convenient location. Can't wait to come back!

In addition to being comfortable and convenient, the house is extremely well-equipped and well-maintained. I say this with some reticence, not because it's not true, but because it may prompt VRBO users to rent it at times I'd like to in the future, which I definitely will.

We had a great week at this property. The house has great bones - great A/C and heat, propane stove that cooks things immediately, plenty of hot water including outside shower, quick wifi. The upstairs deck has a recessed partial ocean view. There are beach chairs, boogie boards, linens, blankets, kitchen items including keurig cups. Location is perfect - away from the public beaches but with 'across the street' access to the beach. If I had to pick one thing to improve it would be the kitchen cabinets and countertops. But not a big deal at all - we're going back next year!

See you next year!
I love this house! This is my 3rd summer coming here. The location is perfect, the house is perfect, and Plum Island is perfect! The beds are comfortable and the house is clean. The deck is a great place to spend your evenings relaxing. There's a small backyard, which we used during the day between beach and shopping trips. The only downfall, for me, is leaving!
I have already booked for next year. Thank you Bill!!

Perfect Summer Vacation!
Bill’s house was perfect: a minute from the beach, short walk to ice cream and the Sunset Grill, and a quick drive to downtown. (If you even need to go down there—the house was thoughtfully stocked with all the essentials, to include a cribbage board and even batteries for the remote control.)

Perfect place for family fun
We had a great time at this property. The property manager was super responsive and friendly. The house has everything anyone could need and was clean and right across the street from the ocean. We had a wonderful time.

Highly recommend!
The house was wonderful! It was comfortable and had everything we needed. The location to the beach was perfect for quick trips back to the house with our 3 year old. Our family really enjoyed our trip to Plum Island and would recommend this house to visitors. We hope to come back!

beach house in plum island
Great place...so close to the beach. lots of kitchen goods. nicely stocked with things like salt, pepper and olive oil. I bit noisy since its on the main drag in town and it was Labor Day weekend, so likely quieter at other times. Having an umbrella on the upstairs deck and for the beach would have been nice.

Family friendly property steps from the beach!
We had a wonderful stay at the end of August 2021. The house was clean, well stocked and very easy to baby-proof for our active toddler! The bedrooms are huge and bright, and the upstairs deck was our favorite spot (my toddler’s was the outdoor shower!). Can’t beat the location either, a short path to the beach is right across the street. Our favorite spot to get food turned out to be the Plum Island Kitchen, which was just steps from the house as well!

Another great vacartion
We love this house! This was our second year coming here. My third stay. My daughter liked it so much she booked 4th of July week, of this year.
Next year is already booked. The house is great, clean and roomy.
Bill is available if needed. He sends a text to make sure everything is good. I highly recommend this house. The beach is literally across the street.

Comfortable place for a lovely vacation
As a family, we've been coming to Plum Island for decades, and we've stayed at fancier houses, but the layout and space is perfect with kids, and I love a screened porch, and the upstairs deck is my favorite place to be with a book. The kitchen was well-stocked and clean, and the dining table fit us all for games in the evening. We look forward to returning!

Was a well located place
Was a well located place so much to do within 45 minutes. Stores and restaurants close by beach 3 minutes away walking. Fishing was excellent water was fairly warm. The Fishing store down the road very friendly. The house was up to date but still a little old school. Plenty of amenities. Very quiet. Great views of sunrise and sunset. Greatly recommended
