We loved staying at the Lion House! Traci gave us good directions and a recommendation for where to stop to get food along the way. The owner made sure we had a great time, telling us about the lions, showing us around, and taking us on a few drives. Everyone was very friendly. Nothing beats waking up and going to sleep to lions roaring. We will be back someday!

A total disappointment ... I can provide photos if required. from the dirty kettle, dirty dustbin to an uncooked chicken that was left in the oven for months. The promotion on FB was a scam as the activities with the lions wasn't available. The towels were old and hard, the pillows old and stained without any pillow protective covers on. The dinner tablecloth was dusty and dirty. The big swimming pool looked nothing like as advertised on the website more like something you can find crocodiles in. This was supposed to be a celebration for mums 80 birthday and to drag her to something that uncomfortable is upsetting and unacceptable. I will not recommend this to any visitors from overseas.

Stay of a life time!
Stay of a life time!
Staying at the lion house was an experience like no other. My friend and I had the entire house that slept 12 people to ourselves. We were able to pick two front rooms, both with lion views, directly from our beds. It was interesting to hear the lions roar at night, as well as be woken up to their roaring in the morning. My friend Liz did the glass box experience, and she was very glad with her experience like no other in the world, very good up close lion photos. The house was lovely, and much bigger than anticipated. We unfortunately did not get to use the pool, as we only stayed one night and it started to lightening out. Thank you for an amazing experience!

Most memorable stay ever (in an amazing way)!
Most memorable stay ever (in an amazing way)!
Suzanne was amazing from the start. Right away after it was booked we started to chat about the process. It was my first trip to South Africa , let alone staying with lions. After the amazing booking process the house exceeded our expectations immensely. It was just my girlfriend (fiancé now thanks to SA) and I staying in this massive house. We bought our own food and cooked outside on an open flame. There is also a outdoor fireplace (also many of them inside) to cozy up at. Pro tip. There is a grocery store down the road before you get there that you can buy food and wine / beer / liquor at. I spent about $55 USD and it lasted the whole weekend. Wine is like 3 bucks, if you like wine just do that lol. Now we check in, the crew and her greet us at the gate to let us in. Its locked down because well it’s a conservation camp, it Is nothing to worry about but to praise about. We get in and right away notice the lions all around us. Already in awe. Also another pro tip, rent a car, they are really inexpensive. We rented a car for a week for $70 USD at Avis. Nicole (my now fiancé ) booked us the lion cage where you get to literally hang out with the lions for like an hour. I have so many amazing pictures and videos from this experience. Afterward Suzanne took us on a trail ride around the camp. Also some of the best photos ever. I can’t explain how amazing the pictures are. I’m sure you already know if you are here reading this now :). In short; this was an experience I’m glad we did and I will always remember. The staff, house and area exceeded all expectations (which were already high). Tips and Things to know. 1. Lions definitely talk; and even at night. Its amazing. Get up at sunrise and get ready to take pics and video. 2. There is no AC, but that’s not a problem the house opens up nicely, truly nicely and the breeze is amazing. We did have a bird want to join us lol. 3. The power does go out (no control of the property just the way power is regulated there) just ask for some flash lights and don’t be afraid, nothing will happen. Actually the best time we had was in the dark cooking outside and sitting by the fire. Enjoy your stay. I’ll be back to read the reviews later :)

A Blast into the Past!
A Blast into the Past!
The properties are reminiscent of an old hunting lodge full of antiques and decor. It felt like being in the "Out of Africa" film starring Merrell Streep and Robert Redford. The lion prides are active, happy and very well taken care of. The staff and Suzanne are fantastic hosts. I will be back!
