We were in town for a family wedding and chose this house for the proximity to other family living in town. There is definitely obvious wear and tear on the inside and outside of the home. This is an older neighborhood with older homes which we appreciate the charm of. We were a bit nervous based on the other reviews, but we were not going to be around much and mostly just sleeping there.
There is only one television per floor, there are no vanities or desks to use to get ready for the day and the bathrooms on floor 2 and 3 do not have any counter space. The bathroom on the 1st floor has a pretty damaged tile tub surround that should probably be fixed to avoid injuries. Most of the beds we used were adequately comfortable.
This house is not accessible so I wouldn’t recommend it for any one with mobility issues. The stairs are steep and narrow, and the banister at the top of the stairs is wobbly. There are steps to get inside on the front and the back.
A bonus is that it has central AC which is rare in these homes. There was a window unit AC available on the 3rd floor. It was nice to have plenty of kitchen space though we mainly used the kitchen on the 2nd floor as a place to do makeup and hair. We did not notice any ants as previously mentioned but there were ant traps out on the second floor. The furniture is cheap and sparse, it definitely feels like a rental and not a home.
Overall, we were happy with a place to sleep and hang out in the evenings for two nights.

While some thought was put into our stay like brand new towels and clean, comfortable beds, the rest of the house was lacking. The pictures online are deceiving. There was a major ant problem, crawling even on the kitchen counters. This made it hard to want to prepare food in the house. One of the two toilets was no longer stable on the ground and moved when you sat on it. The railings on the stairs in the back yard were very unstable and unsafe for the older portion of our group that relied on them to get inside the house. There is a lot of broken items around the house that a good handy man should take a look at. The front of the house has a piece hanging off. The fence in the backyard was in a few pieces on the ground. The toilet paper holder and towel holder was broken off the wall, but still attached. One bathroom had a large hole in the blinds, in a very inconvenient place to feel comfortable to shower in there. The last visitors' dirty towels were still present sitting on top of the washing machine. We were safe and the beds were comfortable, but there was a lot of disappointment in our stay.

While my family and I enjoyed our stay, we did have a few comments that we wish to make:
While the 2nd floor was clean to my standards we did find that there were ants on the 2nd floor. We bought some ant bait which seemed to help alleaviate them.
We apologize for the other family members who contacted the property manager and demanded information. They also found that the 1st was not cleaned to their standards. They told me that there was food in the living room couch and hair in the bathtub.
I do think that the hanging eave on the front of the house ought to be fixed.
We also put out the trash for the Friday pick-up as it was overflowing the trash cans.
It is a lovely antique that has been well cared for and I would be willing to stay there again.

On day one I shared my concerns, No TV, front door glass cracked in several places, refrigerator leaking, both kitchen sinks dirty and a couple of stains on the comforters and couches. He thanked me for sharing and offered troubleshooting ideas to fix the TV. None worked. I contacted him the next day about the TV, again troubleshooting ideas did not work. After the third day, I was told a technician was coming on Wednesday, well that’s the day we were checking out, so that did us no good. We were there for 5 days with no TV. If this was a traditional Hotel, we would have gotten a new room. We used up everyone’s Hotspots in order to watch TV. I noticed in a previous review the complaint about the leaking refrigerator, so I was very surprised the refrigerator was still leaking. The space did accommodate our family of twelve very comfortably, we just had to be creative about the TV, which also limited the channels we were able too watch. That really effected the overall experience. I requested some form of compensation for our terrible experience and I still have yet to hear from the manager of the house and the representative from VRBO.

We were in town for a Cleveland downtown wedding. the location was not far from the highway, which was convenient. The neighborhood is on the edge of Lakewood, so not the best, but not the worst. Pros and cons of the house:
Pros:
~it is big, and big enough for families with 3 floors of bedrooms
~the house was clean as far as kitchen, bedrooms, living rooms
~the beds were comfortable and had very nice linens
~there were towels in each room, which was appreciated.
~there was a driveway that fit at least 2-3 cars, which was appreciated.
~there was a washer and dryer, and there was soap there, which was appreciated.
~it is an old house, so has some character
~the price was very good
Cons:
~it is an old house, so there are things that are very worn out
~The bathroom in the very top (attic), did not have a light in the shower and it was extremely dark, and there was no toilet up there, and no door on the shower area
~there were broken blinds lying on the floors
~at least 90% of the blinds were broken as far as slats missing, broken, etc. and there were no curtains on any of the windows in the bedrooms, which would have helped. And the blinds were not good quality to begin with. They were yellow, old and plastic.
~There were no garbage bags anywhere on either floor
~there was adequate kitchen ware, but only 2 coffee cups in the lower level and a few more in the upper level. For such a big house that can hold so many people, it would have helped to have more.
~the instructions for how to the lock the house were a little confusing. We discovered on our own that the deadbolt had to be turned a certain way and then you could pull it shut, rather than the way it was described.
~there was mold on the shower curtain liner in the downstairs (which is an easy fix)
All in all, it was fine for what it cost. But the fixes seemed to be something that could have been remedied for not a lot of money (blinds, shower curtain, curtains). The manager Billy was very responsive when I messaged him, which was appreciated. Overall, I would stay here again with a big group if I knew the window and shower curtain were fixed.

Enjoyed our family gathering. 4 couples in 4 bedrooms with young adults on top floor. Plenty of space with 2 living rooms and front porch. Very convenient! Great neighborhood, close to everything! Grocery within a mile, 15 minutes to downtown and 15 minutes to airport. Walking distance to a variety of restaurants.
Only downside were the minor issues- some peeling paint, leaking fridge,, broken mini blinds, etc. there was also an ant problem.

The place is in a good location, but it doesn't seem to be regularly maintained. Specifics:
-there is a back room with a washer/dryer that I had intended on using as I had back to back trips. The washer had a lot of water in it and was not functional. The entire room was swarming with moths that did also make their way into the other rooms of the house
-the front door didn't have a handle on it, but had a string that was threaded through the door to use as a handle, which seems like it would have taken a lot more time to do than to actually fix the handle.
-the house had some other very small bugs in it in addition to the moths
-the bathrooms are very small and the upstairs bathroom doesn't have a toilet in it. The showers are very small and I was not really able to stand in them without touching the shower curatin. The shower curtain rod fell off the wall when I tried to open it
-there was an ironing board that was there, but was broken and unable to be used. I realize this is a little thing, but...
Generally speaking, the house is not kept up. The owners/management company did not come out to fix the washer but did refund 15% of the cost.

We enjoyed our stay very much. House was very convenient to many Lakewood and Cleveland things. Great ethnic food in any direction. House is very classic Lakewood style and held our group of 15 well.
Our biggest issue was with checking in. When we arrived at check in time, cleaners were in their car smoking and told us house wouldn't be ready for at least another 30 minutes. When we came back later it looked like the cleaners had sped through to finish up; all the sheets and some towels from previous guest were just in a huge pile partially blocking the back door, no hand towels put up, no trash bags in any cans, and not enough shower towels clean for guest.
The big cans of coffee were much appreciated as well as shampoo and body wash. We didn't do much cooking but kitchen was stocked with everything you would need.

We enjoyed our stay so much. We utilized every bedroom. The manager was prompt in answering questions, providing baby gates, a high chair and anything else we needed!
The house is early 1900’s and comes with the charm of the age. It worked great for our three generation family.

Eight family members stayed at this Lakewood house for our son's wedding weekend; there were events in both Lakewood and Bay Village, which is why we decided on Lakewood. And, we had no trouble heading downtown (Ohio City primarily) by walking to the near-by Red Line 117th Street stop ($ 2.50 per trip; half-off for seniors).
A new Aldi is around the corner which is great because the house, a duplex, has two full kitchens; some of us ate breakfasts in while others enjoyed the near by basic, casual breakfast places, also a quick walk away. Restaurants and bars, including an English cider pub, are close by.
There is on-street parking, but we parked two SUVs on the rear driveway.
Two full bedrooms and the larger most updated of the two full baths are on the first floor. There are a few stairs to access the house from either front or back, but it was great to have this first floor option for a couple of people who find stairs difficult.
The eight of us used one bedroom on the first floor, two on the second -- also adjacent to a small but full bathroom, a full kitchen and a nice sitting area which has sleep sofas --while two young and spry family members bunked on the third level which has a sink but no toilet. Be advised that, as is the case with many older, sprawling homes, there are long staircases to access both the second and third floors.
We found the house to be well-cleaned, and it was nice to have plenty of towels, paper supplies, kitchen utensils, coffee makers and microwaves, Folger's coffee, etc.
Our group had some suggestions for improvements: the couple who stayed on the first floor to avoid the stairs moved out of the bedroom adjacent to the bathroom because it appears to have the only overly soft mattress in the house. They also noted that the bath tub/shower require a high step in and out and currently there are no grab bars or slip resistant tub floor. Those using the smaller second floor bathroom observed that the exhaust vent seems to be ineffective. Some of the bedrooms could use a waste basket.
We were pleased with this VRBO overall, and would not hesitate to recommend it.
The property manager responded very quickly to a few inquiries we sent before our stay.
