About this house rental
Welcome to our mountain home, returning to our mountain heritage, nestled in Sleepy Hollow between Boone and Banner Elk with beautiful views of Grandfather Mountain in all seasons from all three levels. Our 4100 square foot home with double garage is centrally located between Boone and Banner Elk with a quick drive to all the attractions and restaurants our mountains have to offer, including on-site neighborhood hiking trail, tennis courts, and heated pool in summer.
The main level stone entry accesses the central open living area with immediate views of Grandfather himself from the open living/ dining room with stone fireplace, television and DVD player, two dining spaces to accommodate fourteen and large kitchen, all with hardwood floors and cathedral ceiling and adjoining partially covered deck. Enjoy the view from the porch swing or the provided dining table and chairs. The garage can also be accessed from this level for ease of unloading baggage and groceries, and there is an adjoining large laundry room with new front loader washer/dryer and additional storage space and a powder room off the foyer. We are new owners, so new cookware, two sets of china and silverware, ample beverage and food prep items have been provided for your convenience and cooking pleasure.
The large master suite, on this entry level, features a king bed and Pottery Barn mini crib and rocking chair if needed for a little one, with an adjoining sun room with mountain views and television. What a beautiful private reading space! The en suite bath has a whirlpool tub, separate shower, double vanities, a wall of custom cabinets and private water closet and huge walk-in closet.
Descend the open staircase to the second level with an additional large living space with stone fireplace, television and DVD/VCR, large comfortable seating and a game table. This room and the two adjoining front bedrooms open to another deck and view of Grandfather. One bedroom has a queen size bed and the other has a queen size bed, en suite bath and adjoining bunk room with a twin over full and a full size crib. The third bedroom on this floor has a king size bed and another twin over full bed. All mattresses are new or almost new and very comfortable with all new linens on all beds and all new towels, etc in every room. We have eliminated personal items to ensure you have ample space for your belongings, so you will feel at home here!
The third level below features two game rooms, one with a pool table and the other with a Foosball and an air hockey table to entertain the young and young at heart. A third deck with Grandfather views and access to the woods below can be accessed from this level.

We enjoyed this spacious home with a perfect view of Grandfather mountain. We enjoyed the comfortable summer weather and many outdoor activities nearby (Linville Falls, Elk Falls, Blu Ridge Parkway, Music at Valle Crucis and Seven Devils, Blowing Rock, Cone Manor, Bass Lake, Fly Fishing Float trip on Watagua Tailwaters). We travelled to Boone and Blowing rock often for Pickleball, museums, shopping, and dining. We enjoyed the well furnished kitchen and gas grill for preparing many meals. The laundry was essential to our long stay. The two living areas and deck space were great for everyone to have their own space. The large smart TVs were perfect for watching streaming shows. Internet speed was good. Parking in the two car garage was convenient. The only drawback for us was the narrow road up the mountain with an occasional oncoming car.

This house was wonderful for our family. There were 9 of us—5 adults and 4 children! It was spacious with sleeping arrangements for all of us. We love to cook and eat together. Big kitchen, well equipped! 2 dining tables and I outside on the deck.

Absolutely wonderful stay! We had three different families stay at this house ranging from toddler to grandparent and it was fantastic. The space was extremely accommodating. The game room was a huge hit and the kitchen had EVERYTHING we needed for dinners. We would love to stay at this property again next year for another ski trip. Would absolutely recommend this place!

Literally just got back from staying here for my 40th birthday and it was the best time ever! There was more than enough space for the 8 of us and everything we needed to have family meals there almost everyday. If we werent hanging out on the top floor with the beautiful view of Grandfather Mountain we were downstairs playing pool most of the time after snow tubing and axe throwing(which were conveniently located within 15 mins of the house). This morning as we were waking up we got to watch the snow coming down and have coffee while packing up, which was the best ending to an amazing weekend! I cant thank you enough for your hospitality Larry and Linda!

Four day stay December 23-27, hoping for a white Christmas, instead we had warmth and lots of rain! Beautiful area that we fully enjoyed Saturday afternoon through Sunday. We did get to go snow tubing on Sunday and had a wonderful family day on Christmas, despite the constant rain. We ventured out on Tuesday to Mast General and Boone and had to avoid some flooded streets but it was still pretty. Would love to come back again sometime to see what we did not get to see and hike.

The house is well appointed. The kitchen had everything needed to cook a Thanksgiving meal for 10 people. The house is much easier to access compared to other mountain homes. The central location was convenient for activities in Boone, Banner Elk, and Blowing Rock.

First time staying at this property and it was everything and more than the description. The house was very clean, well maintained and well stocked with everything we needed to say the least. The road was narrow but easy to navigate and because it was paved the whole way made it even better. Pretty sure we’ll be staying here the next time we’re in this area. We have stayed at this lovely home for the last 3 years and have never been disappointed. The home is spacious and cozy with an entrance that is stair and incline free. The kitchen is fully stocked and there are many amenities. The view is spectacular and could stand as the sole reason to rent the home. It's centrally located to the sights, restaurants, and grocery stores. The owners/hosts are extremely responsive and open to assist with questions about the area with suggestions for anything from hiking trails to restaurants.

The house was wonderful, and we had more than enough room! The only problem was is that I wished I could’ve booked it for longer. A weekend was definitely not enough to stay in this great place with a view of Grandfather mountain. The creek side and the pool were added bonuses! Of course, our teenager loved the game tables. The owner was very nice to call a few days ahead of our booking to give us a heads up on the weather and the amenities of the house!

This home was beautiful and the view of Grandfather Mt is amazing! The location was convenient to Banner Elk, Boone and Blowing Rock. This home has plenty of room and we loved the game rooms with a pool table, foosball and air hockey. The owners have been great to work with and we will definitely rent with them again!

We had an amazing weekend here. The house is so charming and feels like home. The sleeping arrangement was perfect for our group. Everyone had plenty of personal space. We also enjoyed hanging out together in the common areas and cooking dinner every night in the well stocked kitchen.

We had a wonderful stay at this immaculately maintained property the weekend before Xmas. There is so much to love about this house it is very difficult to summarize. Please know, you can trust the prior reviews that seem too good to be true but are. The Ford's hospitality and attention to detail was amazing, everything you would need is there and in perfect working order. I would say the game rooms on Level 3 wound up being the biggest hit with all of our family but especially with our 3 grandsons. We did get outside to hike a bit (Moses Cone trails are close) but it was bitter cold and always great to get back to the warm and welcoming mountain house. Thank you Larry and Linda for sharing your beautiful mountain home with our family, we will be back!

Property was exactly as described. We had ample room for everyone. Level parking and use of the garage was nice. We used half a rack of firewood during our stay.
We knew that the icemaker wasn't working ahead of our arrival, couple bags of ice worked just fine. I would like to thank the owners for allowing us to use their home.

This is the 2nd year that we have reserved this lovely home for a mountain getaway. Same as last time, it does not disappoint! The views are amazing, the house is spacious and well stocked, the ease of a main level driveway with no entrance steps is an important key element for unloading and loading at arrival and departure. The allowed use of the garage for parking is a great amenity. We love the location as it's near restaurants, shops, sights, and activities. Highly recommend!

We planned a get-away trip for some quality family time and this house was the perfect place to do that. The house is so beautiful!! And the views from the decks are breathtaking! This was a great place for our family to meet for Christmas. One family came from TN and another from Eastern NC. The house was perfect for us and just as described on the web site. The view was gorgeous, the house spacious and comfortable with all the amenities we needed. There were lots of fun things to do for entertainment, in the house and the surrounding area. The owner was friendly, helpful, accommodating and pleasant to work with. We really enjoyed the beautiful Christmas tree and wreath that made the home festive for our Christmas celebration. Our time together was great and none of us had any complaints. I am grateful our family had the opportunity to enjoy this time together in this beautiful place.
