Nice place to calm

The property was beautiful. Josh and Gayle were super responsive to our needs. Even through the storm and losing power, they answered the phone right away and credited us for the night we missed. We loved getting away for a few nights for our honeymoon. 100% recommend for a sweet getaway with any crowd!

This is a wonderful and peaceful house. The hot tub was fabulous to have and use each night

This home was so cute. We loved the spiral staircase and loft. Plenty of room for card games and a movie. The outside grounds were inviting with a fire pit, several seating areas and the hot tub. We did not use the sauna, maybe next time. The kitchen had everything we needed to make some delicious meals. Overall a lovely place for a quiet weekend getaway.

The home is very nice. It had everything we needed to be comfortable. While at the property, the weather was terrible, which was not the property owners fault.
We were told too late to bring a fire stick for television use. That television should have been in good working order. Access to a local beach was not available to us. Due to daily rain, the hot tub was not used but was available. We did enjoy our stay and visited friends who lived locally.
We recommend this property to others, but bring your a fire stick.

This was a great house for relaxing! It very clean with plenty of towels, pillows, etc. It said A/c but they were only in the upper loft and 1st floor bedroom. That was a little tough since it was so hot the week we were there. I don’t recommend staying if you have children under 5-6. The loft bedroom and spiral staircase made me super nervous with a small child. Older kids or adult should have no issue. The hot tub was wonderful and unfortunately we didn’t get to utilize the sauna. It was very peaceful set back in the woods. We were 5-10 mins from Sabego lake with great places to swim, rent boats or hike. Grocery store, ice cream and things for kids are also close by. Josh responded very quickly to any questions we had and was very helpful! We would absolutely come back on the cooler months to enjoy the property more! Thank you for a great stay!

Josh and Gayle's place is nice and as described. I choose their place because I was looking for a relaxing, quiet retreat that included a hot tub. I had an issue with the hot tub randomly shutting off on the first day of my stay, but Josh was responsive and got the issue resolved in a couple days due to it being the weekend. There were a couple more inconveniences I experienced during my stay: the stove top was broken with no backup cooking surface provided and there was not a clear, shoveled path from the deck to the hot tub upon arrival (I dug one out). There is a functional oven and microwave, but a temporary hot plate or additional free standing burner would be ideal until the stove top is replaced.
Overall, the house and property provided a relaxing environment and is conveniently located, you'll even get to see a herd of deer wandering through the property at dusk.

We were 2 couples staying here and overall had a good time in this very quirky and unconventional house, especially for the price, but a few things are worth noting for future renters. Pros: in a neighborhood but feels very remote/private; very clean upon arrival; great hot tub and sauna; cozy upstairs tv and sitting area, big windows with lots of natural light; 30-40 mins from Portland. Cons: downstairs bedroom was boiling hot even with the heat turned almost all the way down, and the en-suite bathroom is very small and the stall shower flooded the day we left; the loft bedroom has an extremely treacherous climb to reach (including to get to the bathroom which is one floor below) and is quite cold though has a space heater. If anyone has physical limitations, a fear of heights, or needs the bathroom a lot, the loft bedroom won’t work. The host sent detailed instructions and information though unfortunately only the day-of, and this included telling us the stove top wasn’t working which was not ideal when preparing meals and groceries for a 3 night trip. The Wi-Fi and tv worked well (there is cable) though you need a Roku or fire stick to get streaming.

The host and hostess of this property couldn’t have been more accommodating and responsive to any questions that we have… Perfect place for a small family Get away… The outdoor Amenities were an added, bonus… The outdoor hot tub and dry/steam sauna we are great to have… Especially if they were days where you just wanted to hang around all day… We loved the set up because it was an open concept downstairs so we were all together hanging out throughout the day, and you really felt like you were secluded in the woods, even though it was a neighborhood. Their house is set back pretty far from the street and went to a very rustic atmosphere if you’re looking to be in the woods… Overall a fabulous trip… The only thing I would not recommend is Small children due to the spiral staircase… And the loft staircase… Otherwise perfect in every other way…

An amazing property, but there were some unforeseen circumstances like a snowstorm that caused us to lose power and water and ultimately cancel the trip. The stove also wasnt working when we arrived which was a bummer as we had bought a bunch of food to cook but we were willing to work around it with the oven and a burner on the grill outside. An amazing rental, just double check that everything is working before for guests. The host was very responsive and worked with us in real time to resolve issues, and gave us a large refund. Would stay here again and hope we can redeem the trip on a future weekend.

We really enjoyed the property. The kids spent most of the time building fires in the fire pit or sitting in the hot tub! We did some hiking and exploring as well. The house is gorgeous and the Kids have already asked if We can go stay there again!

We needed extra room for our large family as we've outgrown our family camp and this was a perfect house to accomodate 2 extra couples on our summer vacation on Sebago. Unfortunately, we didn't get to use many of their cool features, like the awesome hot tub and fire pit. It would lbe an amazing place to stay in the shoulder seasons to enjoy cooler weather as well. The hosts were SUPER accomodating and wonderful to communicate with. We will be back again for sure!

July 4th Stay
The house was centrally located between different beaches on Sebago Lake, but I thought we would have access to Sebago Lake right at the house.
The inside of the house was very clean, but the outside wasn't.
We had to wash down the deck, chairs, table & clean away leaves in the pathways of the grounds.
It was a beautiful, peaceful and relaxing home and we would go back again.
Thank you

Quiet yet Accessible retreat!
My parents, 1-yr-old son, and I visited Maine for the first time in hopes of exploring a new state and combining some R & R with some adventures/exploring. We used the cabin as a home base and it provided wonderfully for our needs. We rented a car and did a long trip to Acadia one day and other trips to Boothbay. Otherwise, we remained local and went to Sebago Lake State Park a couple of times, Raymond beach + did a sunset kayak tour. Grocery and other stores are just down the road. Although the property and amenities might give the impression that it’s incredibly remote, it is quiet in a wooded area (despite being a mile or so from a main road) yet close enough to shopping and major intersections. Would definitely stay again!

Wonderful, responsive hosts!
The location is wonderful. It’s near various beach options. There are supermarkets, a movie theater, and Starbucks too. Yet when you are st the house, you’d never know. It’s very peaceful. The hosts were very helpful and responsive the entire stay. My family was excited to use the sauna and hot tub but given the heat, we only used the hot tub. It was wonderful since I was there for a race. We loved the artist feel and the open flow of the house and landscape. There was a keurig and regular coffee maker that we used while we were there. The.kitchen was was nice and easy to use. Everything was clean and well organized too. All very relaxing. One thing would be that the mattresses and pillows could use some updating but in the end, the entire family is begging to come back and stay here again. This was my first Vrbo rental and I recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Great stay!
We thoroughly enjoyed the serenity that this property brings once you pull up the drive way! We lucked out with the weather so we were able to enjoy the yard and big porch! It's a good location less than 10 minutes from kayaking and hiking. Great time -- would definitely recommend!

Lovely Retreat In the Forest
This home has the feel of a tree house nestled in the forest. It was a perfect place to unwind and enjoy nature. The hot tub under the stars was fantastic. It is a perfectly quirky house with loads of charm. It might not be for everyone, but we loved it.

Unique house
Overall, this property is good. We came to this house to relax and recharge, and we do feel we were able to do that here. The owners were very responsive with communication, and kindly offered us a delayed checkout because no one was coming in immediately after us. There are many things we enjoyed about this property, it just definitely isn’t a 5-star house. The house itself is pretty cool — lots of custom woodwork, tiling, etc. — beautiful big windows with views of the surrounding woods — I kept hoping for an owl to land on a perfectly situated branch. No luck, but we did hear them and a deer walked through the woods one evening. When sitting on the back porch, it feels somewhat secluded, but this house is in a neighborhood. It is more set back than other houses, but I wouldn’t call it secluded. You can hear dogs, car alarms, etc., and you can see the neighbors when walking from the house to the hot tub. The hot tub was very nice though not warm upon arrival so it wasn’t usable the first night (takes several hours to heat up). It was mentioned that the tub wouldn’t be hot in the email we got just prior to arrival, but it was a bit of a bummer. Overall, the house and property just seem tired. The house was generally clean but could use a deep clean (dirty window sills, baseboards, corners, cobwebs, etc). The outside was about the same — random chairs/tables in the woods (not the ones meant for seating), sagging leaking gutters, a couple window frames hanging from trees, and two old wood stoves just sitting out. While March is just about the worst time for landscaping in Maine, the decks could have used a sweep — lots of wet/matted leaf piles. The house is billed as having a wood fired sauna but there was no firewood in the sauna. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, pots, pans, etc. The only coffee maker is a Keurig — not a problem, just worth mentioning since they have very specific requirements and not everyone uses them. The only tea kettle is rusted — we did some creative coffee making. :) There are at least two security cameras outside the house. While we understand this for security reasons, it was a bit unnerving from a privacy standpoint. All previous reviews about the sizes of the bedrooms and bathrooms and the accessibility of the loft are accurate. This would be a very cramped house for 6 people. Overall, this house was fine for us (two adults) as a weekend getaway to recharge — I just wouldn’t call it a 5-star property.

The relaxing spot I needed
I needed to get away and disconnect from work for a week. This location was exactly what I needed. Hot tub, fire pit and a quiet place to read. It checked all the boxes. Plus... It's right near Lake Sebago State Park which was a great place to go for a long walk.

Clean and private
We really enjoyed our stay here. It was clean, quiet, and private. Short car ride to Sebago Lake state park. Restaurants and stores are a quick drive away. We really appreciated that the house was well stocked with essentials (paper towels, soaps, oil for cooking, etc). Upstairs bedroom with the ladder not recommended for children or older folks. Outdoor hot tub was very nice.

July 2021 in Maine
To begin - this was our first experience with VRBO so we were unprepared for the difference in the validity between the on line photos and the actual dwelling. It was billed as having 2 bedrooms and sleeping 6. The 'master' bedroom was approximately 9'X9' with a queen bed that was shoved against a wall in order for it to fit in the room. This meant that one of us had to crawl into bed - literally. The bathroom was maybe 4.5"X 5.5' and held a prefab shower that was VERY tiny. The second bedroom was in the 3rd floor loft - a room that only a very brave individual could use, since there was a vertical half rung ladder leading up to it. There was a fold out bed in a couch on the 2nd level - also where the 2nd bathroom was. The result was no privacy! The furniture in the house was old and very uncomfortable. The fold-out bed had no sheets on it, and the only table in the house was a fold out round that seated 4 very closely spaced. Much in the house didn't work - including the central fan. The outside was a disaster. An old dirty rug laid in a spot in front of the step into the house that had, at one time, contained 2 courses of brick is but one example. The house and deck were covered in pollen and cob webs. There were branches and leaves covering the deck and surrounding area. We spent our first day and a half cleaning and sweeping. We were miles from groceries - and outdoor recreation was almost non-existent in the area. We expected a great deal more!

maine pre-july 4
The house is cute, kind of a combination cabin/ski chalet. Not on the lake but in the woods and adjacent to a year-round lakeside community. The house is best suited for adults. Very close to the state park, public beach and private resort entrances. A few minutes drive to Naples for more adventurous boating (which we didn't do). Bad weather cut our trip short but the hosts/owners were extremely gracious and helpful regarding this.

Peaceful and so perfect
This was our first time using Vrbo and adventuring to Maine since we lived in Kittery almost 10 years ago. This home and property was absolutely stunning and perfect in every way. We would LOVE to stay in the winter if that is an option. If you're looking for a quiet getaway, this is your place!

Charming & Tranquil
This is the place to get away and relax. From watching the Bruins in the TV room to enjoying the outdoor amenities (bonfire, hot tub), I had a fantastic time getting away and just relaxing for the long holiday weekend. The owner (Josh) was friendly and reliable in communicating. Would definitely stay here again! Thanks again Josh & Gayle. :-)

Great hidden getaway
Communication with owners was top notch. The property is unique and had great amenities. Between the hottub and a sauna we had the retreat we hoped for. The living spaces and sleeping spaces are comfortable and kitchen had everything needed without bringing much in the way of pots, pans and utensils.
