About this apartment rental
Brought to you by Luxury Beach Rentals, this 3 bedroom suite on the 10th floor is oceanfront and offers spectacular views of the blue Atlantic. This condo offers an oceanfront master bedroom with king bed and access to the huge oceanfront balcony. The master bath offers granite counter tops, double vanities, a large walk-in shower and tile flooring. The second room offers two twin beds and a queen and the third room offers one queen. Other features include flat screen smart TVs in every room, washer and dryer, and fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops and a sleeper sofa in the living room, creating a large and spacious stay for you and your guests.
The resort is located in the heart of the Grand Strand in a quiet family oriented section of the beach. We have stayed in this unit before about 5 years ago. First, SouthWind on the ocean is in a terrific location, easy parking, and the beach is less crowded than other locations. There is a playground a few steps away on the beach which our kids loved. Second, the unit is fine. It wasn't dirty but the carpets need cleaning and some wall touchups/painting would go a really long way. The unit is huge and the bathrooms are nice. We felt safe and had a great time. There was nothing wrong hat required immediate attention. We had a great vacation!

Overall very good. The master bed was not very comfortable and the condo could have been cleaned better. The bathroom vents make a constant noise, like water is dripping on tin. View is fantastic and location is Great.

This condo was the BEST part of our beach trip. Beautiful, comfortable, and a great view of the ocean.

After finding a load of dirty dishes and broken sliding door in primary bedroom things got worse. Flood from upper unit caused the need for two industrial fans in my unit. Then maintenance decided to cut hole in ceiling without any notice. To top it off they did no clean up and left my belongings covered in drywall dust.

If your looking for a quiet and low traffic area and still not be to far from everything else this is perfect. Had a few minor issues they needed to be aware of and the owners were quick to respond. Highly recommend for a ocean front getaway

This rental was filthy!! It was very expensive and the worst place we have ever stayed. The pictures do not represent the unit. I took pictures of everything from dirty bedding, filthy carpets in every room, holes in the Sheetrock and broken patio furniture. DO NOT stay here! Oh, there was also old food under our sheets.

ac stopped working but was fixed in a matter of hours ..a few things were not up to par latch on sliding glass door in master bedroom did not work electric lift lounge chair in master bedroom did not work . All in all a very good experience.

The property is in a good location. The building amenities, including pools, hot tubs, elevators and walkway to the beach were good. The property overall was well kept. However, our unit on the 10th floor was sub-par. The carpets are worn and stained. The laminate and tile are quite worn and chipped. The couches are worn-in and the unit is outdated in decor. There are large chips in several walls throughout the unit. The baseboards and walls require repairs, sanding, and painting. The flooring should be replaced. The mattresses, mattress pads and linens are worn-out and at the end of their usable lives. Listen, the place is adequate for a short vacation. I've stayed in worse. The unit feels like a 90's motel, that needs a renovation. The building feels like a well-kept mid-level hotel. It isn't luxurious, but it doesn't feel "low-budget", unlike the unit itself.

First let me say that I have stayed at the South Wind Condo at least twice before and I was impressed with the comfort and quality. I highly recommended it to friends and family
But not this time. The initial look at the unit upon my entry was one of things that were not right and the entire trip had me feeling like, “I hope they don’t think I did that” Things were broken, other inconveniences like no garbage bags were surprising. I can understand the starter rolls of bathroom tissue and paper towels but garbage bags, really? When one pays thousands of dollars in the off season for a unit, the least the owner could do would be to have some bare essentials in the unit. Here is a list of the things that ruined our vacation so much that we left a day early.
Kitchen:
There was no top to the trash can so the odor permeated.
No trash bags
Just one use of dishwasher soap.
Master bath:
Had no exhaust fan
Living room:
Scratches on the floor
Looked like missing pictures on the wall
Fan does not work
Looked like no basic cable, just a streaming service
Master bedroom:
Stains on the rug
Fan switch did not work
Hole and scratches on the wall behind the Lazy Boy chair
Bedroom 2, room with 2 queen beds:
Beds were hard as a rock, very inexpensive mattress

Upon arrival to the unit, the vacation rental was very clean. The living room area was very cozy and comfortable. The dining room table had ample seating for our party of 7 (4 adults and 3 children).
The beds were very firm and took some time to get used to them. The bedding was comfortable. There were even extra blankets.
We had trouble with both the washer and dryer. After calling about the issues, they promptly resolved the issues and sent mechanics to work on the appliances. The washer ended up needing replaced and they did that quickly.
The kitchen sink will need a new stopper, since it wouldn't completely seal the dish water in the sink. But it was manageable.
The kitchen was nicely stocked with dishes, cutlery, cooking pans and pots. It was so convenient to have those items readily available. We were able to cook breakfast daily in the unit.
The master bathroom ceiling appeared to have previously dealt with a leak from the unit above it. There was still a hole/cracks from the water damage. There were also water stains on the bathroom ceiling. This wasn't a major issue with us though, but could be for some people.
The balcony view was lovely. Since we were on the 10th floor, we had a nice, vast view of the ocean. We also enjoyed that the master bedroom had access to the balcony.
The pool, hot tub and kiddie pool were also very clean. The indoor heated pool was nice for the cool, breezy evenings.
Our whole party enjoyed our stay at this rental unit.
