The Location - You work hard and you deserve this. Three patios are 100% private and surrounded by tropical plants. They come with pagoda umbrellas for shade, chaise loungers and dining tables, and are perfect for enjoying a quiet cup of coffee, good book, cocktail(s), or an al-fresco meal. Its a few a steps off the patio to a private gate into the heart of the Village and the best fresh oysters, seafood, tropical drinks, ice cream, entertainment, and even gourmet donuts on the island. The beaches at this location are the widest and have panoramic views of the gulf to the North-West-and-South and are the top spot in North America for viewing sunsets. You can swim or “often” wade to Sand Dollar Island, a naturally occurring white sand cay popular with dolphin's sand-dollars and “occasionally” giant-conch. The water is shallow clear and calm with white quartz-sand tide-pools perfect for sleeping drinking or playing. This is the only spot on Siesta where you can go from the water to lunch or dinner and back to the sand without putting on your shirt and shoes.

Named for my grandmother “Gertrude” who traveled the world until age 91, but always insisted this street on Siesta Key was the place she loved best. When I was young, she would take me to the beach and swim out so far I couldn't see her yellow flowered bathing cap even while standing on a chair! Today, you can laze float and wade in the same white quartz sand and calm crystal clear gulf water she once did.
Beach Gear - Correction for Air-b-n-b listings. We provide beach towels and beach chairs at every location, umbrellas and carts at most locations, and do not provide "snorkeling gear" at any locations. Sorry for the confusion. Snorkeling gear can be rented or purchased nearby.

House was clean and perfect location a quick walk to the beach and in the middle of downtown for restaurants/shops. The owners responded quickly anytime I emailed and they take care of everything! No long checklist for checking out either! Highly recommend!

Even though we were only one block behind the bustling main drive with lots of traffic, the home was exceptionally quiet and peaceful. It was very clean with enough space for the family to have space. Very short walk to the beach with a wagon and umbrellas and chairs (though we brought our own). The only negative was the water pressure in the shared bathroom, but the master bath shower was good. Loved that there was also an outside shower to help avoid tracking in sand.

If very good was a choice that's what I would choose. The only reason I give this a good rating is because it was a little snug for 8 adults 4 that were over 60 which we thought when we booked. We Loved the outside patios. The location was great two blocks to beach or village. We had all the beach equipment we needed and an outside shower and even a gas grill . Any questions or problems were handled fast. Our vacation was enjoyable and relaxing. Can't wait to try another property

Gertrude's Village House was the ideal spot for our recent vacation to Siesta Key. The location is unbeatable - just steps from the beach and directly connected to Siesta Key Village through a private gate. We loved leaving the car behind and strolling to the beach for swims and sunset walks. The village itself is charming, with plenty of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options all within easy walking distance.
The house itself was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We especially enjoyed the private patios, which offered a tranquil space to relax and unwind after a day at the beach. The multiple patios provided both sun and shade, making them perfect for any time of day.

Our stay was nice and the place is in a great location. Restaurants, coffee, groceries are all in your backyard and a very short walk. The beach is about a 2 minute walk down the street. I will say that the place itself is cute, but it is small. We had 8 people staying and I cannot imagine fitting any other bodies in the house, there isn't anywhere to place luggage so it's a tight squeeze. If you are out all day at the beach, then no worries, but if you are stuck inside with rain like we were, it's crowded.
Check in was super easy and the owner provides a really nice guide book when you check in.
Overall, a cute place with a great location and I'd stay again, but probably not with 8 people. Thank you!

We were pleasantly surprised to see what an amazing location this is! Everything is within walking distance and the beaches are so beautiful. The unit was clean and comfortable- everything was as stated. The beach chairs/wagon/umbrella set up was perfect!! We slept great after full days soaking up the sun on the beach and then eating/shopping and exploring. We will be back!

Would highly recommend this house for a family looking to make the most of the beach and village of Siesta Key. Very thoughtful and comfortable home with some unique benefits. We especially loved the two parking spaces and the private entrance to the main drag of the village. So convenient to the beach and the best of Siesta Key.

We stayed at the Gertrude Village House for 10 days over Christmas and New Year’s with grandparents and two children. The place was clean and contact was good with Daniel. However would say it was a little shabby, certainly for what we were paying (peak season so a very high nightly rate!). Light bulbs needed replacing, the plug in the sink wasn’t working and the drawer in our bedroom could only open a few inches because it was stuck inside a closet. Daniel addressed all these issues (except the drawer) promptly, sending someone round on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day. But for such a high price I also had high expectations and was disappointed that I had to spend time sorting stuff like that out. The place is nice though the kitchen is a bit small (a half sized dishwasher is not great for 6 people). There was a bit of noise at night from the nearby nightlife but it didn’t disturb our sleep. The location is fantastic- you are right near the action. In sum, this house is perfect for a bunch of young people there to party, and functional but not ideal for a family.

The 7 of us loved our stay at Siesta Key. The house was in the perfect location, just 2 minutes walking to the large beautiful public beach and a couple of minutes to the center of town. Dan was very helpful and immediately available when we had a small plumbing issue. We'd love to return next year.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was an absolute perfect location between walking to the beach & the village. The cottage itself was nice & comfortable. Our family of 5 enjoyed our time together especially the outdoor seating area. The house had everything we needed. We could not have picked a better place for our Thanksgiving week.

We throughly enjoyed our stay - the beach and the village were closer than we even anticipated! The outdoor patio space was just perfect for our desire to be outside. Our only suggestion (and it really didn’t matter to us) is that I think the listing does state that there is a tub/shower in both baths, but one bath is just a large shower. Great place!

My family and I really wanted to love this place but unfortunately, I cannot say that we did. 😔
The location of the home is great and Daniel was very accommodating and responsive. Other than that, we ran into several issues during our stay. And there were several. But my biggest complaint is the mattress in the queen size room. Very, very uncomfortable to the point to where my husband and I had to switch the rooms with our daughter to get some sleep at least.
This house has a potential but it needs a lot of TLC. There were multiple things that broke during our stay and some fun run ins with roaches in the bathroom.
For the price that we paid for one week stay, I would expect comfort and no inconveniences.
It is not a house that I would rent again.

It was easy to find, easy to check in and easy to get around. The place is in a good location between the beach and the village. The beds were also comfortable. The bathrooms are small. I appreciated the extra towels, a washer and dryer and an outdoor grill. Overall- it was a nice getaway.

This place was very fun! The children (mostly teens) had a marvelous time! The proximity to beach and town/shops was awesome. The area also seemed very safe. The kids left in the morning and only came back for food and money! My grandson has already put his request to go back next year!
I do have a few suggestions, the only room with an en suite was hotter than blue blazes. If you suffer from being hot natured, this room is not for you. It may be that the ventilation system needs some adjustment or the window unit in that room could be replaced with a newer, more efficient system.
Lastly, the beach is a good bit farther than I got the impression from the advertising. This would not be an issue for a healthy person, but I recently had major spinal surgery and long walks are no longer in my future. I was able to go to the beach twice this trip, which is more than my last decade of trips to the beach.
So my summary, great place, great location and absolutely great time! Thank you Dan!!! See you next year!

Property was a nice size and clean. It was well stocked with basic needs for cooking and cleaning for the week. The gate access to the village was very nice to have. Being able to walk through a gate to get dinner was nice then turn and walk a short walk to beach access was very nice. Would definitely stay again, 4 adults and 3 preteens fit great
