How spacious it is and the views were breathtaking.
It’s clean, the rooms and common areas are well equipped and clean.
Doors are an issue:
The front door doesn’t seal the entrance but has a large open at the top allowing any crawlers to enter.
Most of the bedroom doors were hard to open, family rooms front door is very very difficult to unlock and eventually open.
The Stairs from the main house to the pool area is scary and needs safety measures.

Nice location
Fridge not working, oven not working, dishwasher not working, half of the house did not have electrical supply, only 2 of the 4 showers had hot water and one shower would electricute you when opening the tap so everyone had to use 1 shower, no water pressure

The chef who prepared the breakfast was exceptional and made a scrumptious breakfast. The bedding was fresh and clean. The location of the property is stunning.
The property itself needs maintenance, interior as well as exterior. The showers were not properly cleaned and cobwebs and mildew still visible.
4.5
Absolutely loved the sun set and rise with such a gorgeous view. We loved both the communal space and also the privacy it offered.
Some of the smaller parts of the house needs some attention. Like doors and windows seem dated but didn’t affect our stay at all.
4.5
The entire house is so Spacious! The view is beautiful, and the roaring of the lions was the cherry on top! Lynette was very friendly and helpful during our stay.

views were exceptional .
property needs plenty of maintenance and repairs.

Mabalingwe is great! The area is beautiful. The house it self was lacking maintenance. Stove/oven not working. Something wrong with the electricity connection. Bathrooms not up to standard. Bedding was clean and comfortable. Service from the host was great and helpful in all regards
2.5
The view, volume of people that could be accomodated.
The mattresses were stained and dirty. The rubbish area could nor be secured from the monkeys, the Fan in the main house was not working, no working backup lights for load shedding. Electrical problems with the stove, also creating current that shocked when touching the dishwasher. Showers heads dirty not allowing enough water through. No power points in the loft. Pool braai facility broken and had to stack loose bricks to make it work. Indoor braai area leaks water and smells musty as well as the bottom bedroom. Room
4 had no entrance from the pool
area that opened.

Liked that there was enough space for whole family under one roof and many bathrooms
Bedroom 2 needs a new mattress. Too soft and uncomfortable.

The location was to my expectation as the name says nature's resort. That's what I expected to be surrounded by nature. I received exactly that.
If we had more towels and bedding to change our beds. Some rooms had cold water. Also emergency lights were not working. Other than that I was happy. I have enjoyed my stay. I will definitely use it in future

THE PICTURES ON THE WEBSITE MADE THE PLACE LOOK LIKE A VINTAGE COTTAGE BUT INSTEAD IT HAS A MODERN FEELING AND THE AVAILABILITY OF THE KITCHEN RESOURCES WAS EXCEPTIONAL WE WERE ABLE TO MAKE ANYTHING WE WANTED TO EAT. THE PLACE IS REALLY BIG.
It's a bit far in the reserve so we didn't get to get out of the reserve or go to the Cafe for activities. We were very disappointed when we were said to be very loud and our electricity was cut off something we didn't know could happen. Then there was someone who came and banged on our door and swearing so we locked ourselves inside.

The view from the balcony
The faculty is in a poor state. 2 of the bathrooms do not have warm water.
We have not received our braekage deposit back nor the fuel deposit on the game viewing vehicle notwithdtanding being in contact with the agent.

The location was amazing and a lovely view. Lovely and Spacious.
good room sizes and beautiful pool.
Burst pipe in one bedroom and bathroom
Outside steps broke when we walked down
Piece of the deck floor caved in at a very dangerous spot.
Worth mentioning that they did respond well and assisted where they could.

The breakfast was on time and all enjoyed
The was no gas on arrival for the stove and making food was a challenge without this. Great layout on the home but it needs some maintenance on the upkeep.
4.0
The scenery, the atmosphere, the logfire in the evenings. The setup with the rooms and the fcat that they are separate, but also part of the house. The gameviewer was special and allowed us to see so much more than others could.
The road to the unit requires serious upgrading. If anyone with a low bedded car comes, he would not be able to reach the house. This has to be adrressed asap. Soem rooms require airing, it seems water has penetrated and the rooms have a very poor smell.

Our stay at Gecko Lodge was good. Being in the bush with nothing but nature around was amazing. The location was fantastic, the views were great. The host, Lynette was great. We were so thankful that she allowed us a late check out.
There is a view small things that needs fixing. The unit is a bit rustic but it adds to the bush experience. If you have small children I wouldnt suggest to stay at gecko Lodge as the railings around the patio / verandah is definitely not child friendly.

Great property with plenty space for a large group. All the necessities made available by the hosts for a comfortable stay. There was a fair amount of wildlife around and only a short drive to the local bar and shop. Would definitely recommend this property and plan to book again when next in South Africa. Lynette (the host) was available over phone/WhatsApp at any time for questions. Couldn't be more pleased with the booking.
The road leading to the property is a gravel road which is OK if you have a bakkie or 4x4, but a little nerve wrecking in a normal car.
2.5
We did not order breakfast
The property has 5 rooms, one room we were unable to sleep in as it has such a stale smell even if we left the doors open, this room also did not have fan or any proper ventilation. The drawers in the rooms was full of spider webs you could not use it. The kitchen did not have something like potholders to take dishes out of the oven. The roofed leaked in many places. The furniture is old and is broken or unsteady. The game view vehicle was old and totally over prized. The one bathroom glass door was broken we had to take it off to get into the shower. Overall we were disappointed in the property we will not return
2.5
The space
The bathrooms, especially the showers were not clean. Both the shower floors and the walls were dirty and one shower was blocked.
The electricity DB kept tripping.
4.5
The place is beautiful if you want peace of mind and to relax, this is the place
What i loved is waking up hearing the lions roar
Maintenance
Make sure all beds have good linen
The 2 single and double had linen like no one stays there

communication with the host 😩, she will just blue tick and not respond, the main switch kept tripping.

Great location that was easily reachable by car. Views were stunning and we had a great time driving through the park in our own vehicles and on game drives, there's lots to see. Communication with the host was also fantastic, she answered questions and queries before and during our stay. There was a private pool and the braai areas were amazing. The kitchen has all the appliances you could need (including a dishwasher!). Most of the rooms have their own bathrooms. There are various spaces to spend time with people in large or small groups making it ideal for large groups of family or friends. The space is also kid-friendly and the three young ones we had with us had a lovely time - especially when the monkeys came past on the last day and caused all sorts of fun chaos :).
The house needs some maintenance and more regular checks. There was a clogged drain that caused a room to flood with rainwater, one of the keys to the rooms didn't work, and there was no gas for cooking/hot water when we arrived. These issues were solved quickly when we asked, but could have been avoided. There was no broom for us to clean up ourselves. One of the shower mixers doesn't work and the toilet seat is loose. There are enough other bathrooms that it wasn't an issue for us, but should be given attention to. On day of checkout, the cleaning staff arrived an hour before we needed to be out and began cleaning before we left. This caused a rushed checkout process and made us feel unwelcome at the end of our stay which had otherwise been fantastic.

Very spacious rooms. Kitchen had everything we needed.
The house needed a little bit of cleaning.
4.0
Beautiful location. The lodge worked well for a group of people as there were separate bedrooms for most of the party.
The showers needed some attention, many of them did not work as well as they could, possibly due to calcification?
Some of the light switches did not work.
4.0
The view is spectacular. Also very private and the option to braai at 4 different spots really allows you to utilise the entire property.
The road leading to the property can do with a bit of patching up. Very rough, but it's a very short distance.
