About this house rental
Nat's Place started life as a basic little Kiwi bach in 1959. Since then it has been extended and modernised several times and now comprises a kitchen area, living room, lounge, bathroom, four bedrooms and two decks. A complete new kitchen has recently been installed and the dining room and living room furniture upgraded.
Just ten minutes drive from Whangamata. Parking right at the door. Relax on the deck and enjoy the stunning views of the estuary - the views change with the weather, time and tide. Go swimming straight out in front of the bach or walk or drive down to the surf beach. Climb School Hill for spectacular views out to Slipper Island and beyond. Enjoy boating on the estuary - the bach is directly opposite the boat ramp - or try fishing from the little jetty.
Special conditions:
The price listed is for 2 adults. There is an additional charge of $20 per day for each extra adult and $15 per day for school-aged children. Pre-schoolers are free.
Extras:
Linen: Optional, for a $15 per person flat fee. Contact us after your booking has been confirmed if you would like to have linen provided.
Cleaning: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to clean the house and do the dishes before you leave. But in response to recent requests, we now offer the option of having the bach cleaned after you leave, for a fee of $70. Contact us after your booking has been confirmed if you would like to take up this offer.

Lovely location and cute little bach with stunning views.
Not the cleanest unfortunately with the bedding covers needing washing and the house generally not clean. The carport area had recycling and various bins with rubbish sitting around and in the way of car access. Not having curtains made it feel a little uncomfortable, especially when staying alone. This detracted from the stay.

Stay at Nats place on several occasions and it never fails to disappoint even if it is raining, the views from the deck are amazing

Very beautiful place. Quiet and tranquil.
I would definitely recommend visiting and would like to go again.

We loved the relaxed kiwi bach style holiday in a virtually unchanged setting that we holidayed at 60 years ago....our whole family including grandchildren had a ball ..... it was truly magic !

A wonderful stay at Nats place. The Bach is super clean, kitchen is so well equipped with lots of bench space. Views to die for. Only used the main bedroom, bed was very comfy. We swam in estuary, did walks and collected pine cones for our winter fire.
Wine on the deck in the evening watching the sunset…perfect. Would highly recommend!

My wife and I stayed here for our summer holiday and would have loved to have stayed here longer. We couldn't stop taking in the tranquility of the area....getting the dishes done while looking at the view takes longer than it should. The bach has everything you could want for a holiday and we had excellent weather but could have happily nestled in reading a book if the weather had have bad. The owners seem like lovely people and very easy to communicate with.
We have found our perfect summer holiday destination!

So quiet and relaxing. Stunning view. First time I have ever stayed at any holiday rental where there was literally anything you could possibly need.

Beautiful and peaceful with a lovely view

The first people who arrived on Friday evening were surprised to see dirty items on the bench, on the floor, and the place unkempt as if people were still there. Thank you for your prompt response, and it was good to meet your cleaner and hear her apology face to face. Thank you for arranging a remedy so quickly.
After the rough start we enjoyed our stay. Every person in our party of 9 slept well both nights, and we enjoyed our meals and the bathroom facilities. We played board games during the wet weather. This enabled us to attend an event nearby which was fabulous too. So thank you very much for a lovely stay. We would like to return sometime and check out Opoutere beach in better weather.

Typical quintessential Kiwi bach

Was like walking back in time, beautiful outlook

Refreshing to have a true iconic kiwi bach. Plenty of space. We were only 3 but grand to see how many sleeping options there could be for groups. Private areas. Views, sea life and bird life stunning. We will be back. The communication from the owners outstanding and really helpful. Much appreciated.

Great location but the back 2 rooms were musty and dusty. The house needs a good clean. There were dirty sheets on the bed with sticky lolly on them, which I took off and washed. The kitchen sink is leaking into the bottom cupboard and pots which were full of water.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Opoutere stay, it was a gorgeous bach in a stunning area with an amazing outlook. We particularly enjoyed all the birdlife, walking along the spit with the very relaxed dotterills and the sound of tuis and kakas in the bush.
I would highly reccomend Nats Place for a relaxing getaway in a beautiful location.

Perfect for what we required.

If you're looking for a relaxing break in a perfect setting and can appreciate a typical 1950's batch, then this place is for you. Enjoy the simple life of yesteryear and go unwind and recharge your batteries.

Would suggest extending concreted area getting to carport. Very muddy there. Stay was otherwise lovely.

My husband and our two doggos had a wonderful couple of nights . We will definitely be back . Thank you !

Nat's place is one of our fave getaway spots, so when my daughter wanted to celebrate her 13th birthday with a "Besties Roadtrip" this was her first choice. Everyone loved it!

Great little place to get away.Absolutely loved it.

A great bach for a holiday with a lovely deck overlooking the estuary. I would highly recommend staying here.

Great accommodation for family getting together to attend a wedding. Location was perfect for us and the house provided for us beautifully. Recent weather damage to the driveway presented a challenge for some of us.

Great little Bach, very relaxing, no mod cons but nice simple and relaxing, beautiful spot to sit and enjoy sun rises and have a evening bbq, the birds are amazing here, only thing that lets it down is the driveway in as the weather has gouged out huge holes and not so great to get up , just needs a digger to jun over it

Beautiful location. The batch was clean and tidy but back in time to the 1950's . We had terrible weather so had to cut are stay short.

I adore Nat’s Place. It’s the perfect kiwi bach in the most beautiful place on the planet. Nice big spaces inside for everyone to be if it rained and endless outdoor options. This was our second stay and we’d definitely love to return.
4.7
We had such a great holiday in Nat's bach. It is bright and sunny, clean and well-equipped, with plenty of room. Glorious view for evening drinks on the deck. Thanks so much - we will be back.
4.7
The only down point of the trip was the very rainy weather
It's a lovely area and a comfortable bach
4.7
We booked Nat's place for our accommodation over the weekend when our son had his wedding in the forest location and reception hall beside the Opoutere Motor Camp. The bach was ideally located being easy to find, close to all the special features Opoutere has to offer and with magnificent panoramic views across the Estuary. The bach itself was very comfortable, had everything we needed and took us all back to the days of happy bach holidays of yester-year. The bird life all around the cottage was fascinating and bird song beautiful to wake up to. We all wished we could have stayed longer just to enjoy the beauty and tranqility of this beautiful place.

Love staying here, you really feel like your getting away from it all, birds are amazing . View is fabulous, it’s quaint and you feel relaxed as soon as you arrive

Was worth its money. I would book it again if I'm out that way again.
