Please Note : This is an original beach/bush shack and as such has various quirky features and some wear and tear. Being a property located in a bush setting there may be signs of leaf litter, bugs, webs, etc so as much as we try to keep these at bay, it’s not always possible. A few tiles missing, original kitchen, a squeaky door add to the charm of this original older style beach shack. Our cleaners will continue to ensure the property is hygienically and professionally cleaned before your stay. Many guests have thoroughly enjoyed this unique beach/bush location and features of the property over the years, and we sincerely hope your family will also.
Guest Access:
You’ll have access to the entire property when you stay here, so it will feel like your own home.
- The keys will be left in a lockbox onsite. We will send you the access code 2 days prior to your arrival through the booking portal.
The Neighborhood:
Macmasters Beach is a unique tranquil location which remains a bit of a secret to those in the know wanting a low key soft adventure getaway. Macmasters is a quiet community that welcomes like-minded people, those seeking a quiet and secluded getaway. Macmasters Beach is rated one of the best surfing beaches on the coast and the natural swimming pool is great for kids. The beach kiosk is a great place to enjoy some sun and a coffee or enjoy fantastic Thai of an evening. Macmasters Beach is surrounded by National Park, so wildlife is abundant and the Bouddi Coastal Walk stretching from Macmasters Beach through to Putty Beach is one of the most spectacular on the Central Coast. Nearby the villages of Hardys Bay and Killcare offer a variety of galleries, eateries, tennis court, boat and yacht hire and fishing spots. You can also catch the ferry to Palm Beach from nearby Wagstaff.

House was not cleaned - filthy toilets, sandy bathrooms, dirty floor, three pieces of broken furntiture, wet dirt towels shoved into cupboard. Total lack of sensible or reliable follow up to several phone calls of complaint to 'madecomfy'. We were made to feel that all of this was our fault! I would never rent a house managed or prepared by 'madecomfy' again.

This was a house was a good size for our group of extended family and it was in a great location. Beds were reasonably comfy and it had a good backyard.
But for what we paid, we were very disappointed with the accommodation and features.
When a property is advertised as being for 12 people, there should be enough towels, chairs and crockery (without washing up mid meal) for 12 people.
The kitchen should stock dishwashing tablets, a pot holder, working oven exhaust fan. The laundry should stock pegs.
Several chairs (indoor and outdoor) were dangerously broken)
Bedside lamps were lacking and cords didn't reach the plugs where they were there.
The TV remote didnt work even with new batteries. The bedroom lights didn't work.
The upstairs back door didn't lock.
The property manager changed without warning just as final payment was sought and I received an email asking me to pay $thousands to an unknown company with no indication who they were.

Good position for house
House needs work ,undercover area out back current awning ripped, better cleaning toilet floor dirty, dishwasher had scum on bottom rim,BBQ dirty.
House very wet ,bottom flat bunk mattress and sheets were damp had to put sheets through dryer and put fan on that bedroom all day .
Great location but weather was very wet.

Old but nice
Overall, a great house for a few families. Cleaning was not flash and a broken dishwasher was not expected.
Lounge TV never worked…which wasn’t a huge deal except it is advertised to have these items and you expect to use them. I followed instructions carefully but got an error message and gave up. The younger members used the TV down stairs with a Nintendo …so no great inconvenience. Great location to the beach. I think it’s time to do an inventory and restore, replace or repair various items around the house as things are getting a bit wobbly and you feel they may break any second- chairs, seats, kitchen cupboards, no exhaust fan or light operating above stove….

Perfect location and great house layout
We really enjoyed our stay at this Macmasters Beach. The property is an easy walk from the beach and an ocean pool, which was a particular highlight. We also really enjoyed the bush walks in the surrounding Bouddi National Park. The living area looks out into tree tops and you can enjoy dappled light and birds. The layout of the house is great as there's plenty of spaces for people to join in on fun or just have a quiet time to themselves. The property is feeling quite run down and when we arrived, some things weren't working, but the agent was quick to get them repaired. A little more attention to detail with cleaning would help and it was disappointing that the BBQ was dirty when we went to use it on our first night. But the positives definitely outweigh the negatives and the problems mentioned could be easily overcome (certainly the managing agent appeared keen to get things right). I really wanted to book again for the following summer holidays but was not inclined to because of the lack of flexibility in the cancellation policy. My recommendation to the owner and/or agent, is to recognise good clients and provide some flexibility for them in the policy to encourage an ongoing relationship. We'd gladly book again if we weren't risking some thousands of dollars that may be lost in the event of ours or our guests' plans changing due to circumstances beyond our control.

Relaxing weekend getaway
House is big and comfortable for large family. Very close to the beach and surf club where you can get nice coffee and not far from it to let your pooch of the leash. Quiet neighbourhood, beautiful bush walks close by.
We enjoyed our stay very much although house is a bit old.

Great for large groups
Loved the location, being just a moments walk from the beach. Felt very private despite having houses all around. Lovely big forested garden. The house itself was a bit old fashioned and tired, with just the one toilet (a bit weird when it can fit such a large group). Liked the fact it had three loungey rooms and the balcony was great. Had surf boards which would have been great for the summer!

Stay at MacMasters Beach
We have always enjoyed Macmasters for our family holidays and our latest rental did not disappoint. While there’s no doubt it could do with a bit of modernisation, the location was excellent and we had a fun family Christmas.

family break
overall ok value but no internet should be highlighted as we needed to keep in touch with family in the uk.

Average
Accommodates large groups
Nice common area upstairs
Beds are comfortable though there are no ceiling lights in bedrooms
Property is slightly old - no A/C or fans downstairs
Lots of cobwebs around the house and some insects - likely due to the house being situated next to a bush
Great dartboard and TV setup for entertainment downstairs

Fantastic comfortable home in beautiful MacMasters Beach - thoughtfully presented, great amenities. Very relaxed feel - would definitely come back.
