Unas vacaciones muy cómodas

Nos gustó muchísimo la idea de alojamiento. Tienes tu propia habitación, pero luego puedes disfrutar de las zonas comunes, como cocina y salón. Puedes cocinar ahí y así ahorrarte un dinerillo en comer fuera. Genial la atención de Ángela y su pareja. No nos faltó de nada. Muy bueno el desayuno también.

A good option for a roadtrip

The guesthouse is right on the border (hence it's called The Customs House). I was the only guest and I haven't actually met the owner but there was very easy communication, keys were left for me so I can check in when I want. The room is simple but functional. The breakfast was self service too with some bread, ham, juices etc. The owner was very friendly, thanks Angela! There isn't much to do around but for a stopover on a roadtrip it's a good option!

Very pleasent and restfull

We could store our baby goods in the refrigerador. The staff very friendly

There was no cheese for breakfast. The room faced the road and the Windows weren t double glass, só we could hear the cars passing, luckly there was almost no traffic

Gorgeous rooms, gorgeous location + gorgeous host – perfect access to both Extremadura and Alentejo.

Literally on the border between Spain and Portugal, this is the old customs house – an elegant rural mansion only a few kilometres from Villanueva del Fresno in one direction and Mourão in the other, surrounded by farmland. The décor is amazing: lots of polished timber furniture, flowers everywhere, common areas with TVs and plenty of soft, comfy seating... Having a full dining room and kitchen facilities downstairs is the icing on the cake. For anyone with their own transport, this is a dream location. And best of all: Ángela speaks both Spanish and English fluently.

Absolutely nothing at all – it was perfect. (I've already been back for two more stays.)

Extramadura extreme; spacious as you want it

The location was simply spectacular. This is Extramadura as it should be. The owner was not there but communicated very well. We found the key and the facilities as described.

The breakfast was poor. Luckily we had brought our own. It took a while to figure out that the coffee machine did not work because a tray was missing; we found that somewhere in the kitchen.
