This unique listing hosts one bedroom, two full bathrooms with view of mountains. It is located five miles from downtown Asheville and four miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway.
This is a newly renovated mountain oasis with a beautiful, private outdoor haven ! The unique architecture style designed and created by the owner is breathtaking. There are cozy, romantic areas throughout. The owner has gone to great lengths to create beauty and character in every room in the house. From the pecky cypress columns and curved walls to the copper trim---there are architectural surprises everywhere you look. Located in Beaverdam Valley, the property includes a hot tub, fireplace with gas logs, covered porches, fire pit, gas grill, and decks. There is a year round view of the mountains. The bungalow has a full kitchen stocked with ample equipment needed to prepare gourmet meals, a dining nook and a wet bar. The bedroom hosts an iron and chestnut queen bed with luxury bedding, cedar wardrobe and flat screen TV. The two full bathrooms are beautiful with granite vanities and stone walk-in showers. The living room has a double leather recliner, stress-less chair with foot stool, flat screen smart TV with sound system, and wireless internet. It is difficult to describe the many details and features in the amazing bungalow!
The property is located just minutes away from downtown Asheville, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Grove Park Inn, and the Biltmore Estate. Also, there are many nearby outdoor adventure activities: hiking, whitewater rafting, snow and water tubing, zip lining, kayaking, horseback riding, fly fishing, mountain biking, climbing, snow skiing, and waterfall tours.
Spend the day in downtown Asheville dining, tasting our local beers, shopping or people watching.
Great day trips to nearby small towns: Waynesville, Hendersonville, Brevard, Flat Rock, Chimney Rock, Highlands, and Cashiers. Scenic routes to each, with great lunch spots. Enjoy shopping for locally made crafts in the quaint atmosphere of small mountain towns.
For guests who bring their dogs there is a neighborhood green space for fetching just 1/2 mile from the house.
The owner, Jeff Schmitz, is a builder and designer. Jeff is an amazing carpenter with a passion for unique, innovative design and an incredible eye for detail. He loves nature---both at the coast and in the mountains. Jeff has poured his heart and soul into making this space an oasis for couples to enjoy. Jeff often travels to the North Carolina coast where he is renovating two historic homes. He enjoys spending time in the mountains with his family while continuing to build in this community.
Jeff purchased this house in the 90's, completed the initial renovation at the turn of the century and completed the massive artistic renovation in February 2019. This is Jeff's second vacation rental rennovation. His first, Beaverdam Valley Escape, VRBO 617005, is a
5-star success!
Jeff was originally drawn to Asheville from the west coast by the relaxed lifestyle and ample access to beautiful mountains and rushing waters. He fell in love with this house and this part of Asheville over 30 years ago. Since then, he has worked to renovate the space into a mountain dream house. It is both private and close to town---the best of both worlds. This is such a wonderful place and he wanted to share it with others as they traveled to the mountains of Western North Carolina. We all work so hard these days and forget how important it is to nurture ourselves and our relationships. This is an amazing, private romantic place that is appealing to adults of all ages.
This bungolow had so much hidden potential when he purchased it many years ago. It was a diamond in the rough. The property has private lay out for being this convenient to town. It's character stood out above all others.

This property could not be any better, secluded feel yet close to everyting. Everything was perfect from the outdoor area (including the hot tub) to the beautifully decorated interior. Would have loved to have stayed longer (we will be back). Thanks for sharing your property!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in what is best described as a bungalow in the forest. A private oasis that is close to town. Great amenities and a convenient space out back for our dog to use. Will definitely stay again!

We stayed here to celebrate my birthday and this house made everything so much more enjoyable. The house is stocked with all essentials, it’s very clean and the location is extremely private. Our dog loved laying outside in the shaded backyard area. Beautiful neighborhood & quick 15 mins to downtown activities! Tammy is very responsive and helpful. We will be back!

What a cute little home that is close to everything in Asheville. The pictures do not do it justice and the most dog friendly place I have been.

We really enjoyed staying here. Home is very well kept on inside. Needs some extra attention to outside amenities.... grill had not been cleaned or used in a long time, hot tub jet flow is minimal and IMO needs repair and wasp nests in recessed lighting by door off bedroom. Luckily we did not get stung by any wasp. Pet friendly fenced in property was a win for dogs. Would have really enjoyed the showers more if the water pressure was stronger. Wanted to grill out for 4th of July weekend but could not use grill in condition it was in :(

We got out of the city to the cool mountain air. Really enjoyed how close we were to everything yet felt so private and isolated. Highly recommend!

Second time staying at one of Tammy’s properties and always great! Clean, dog friendly and close enough to town after a day of hiking! Thanks for hosting us and our dog again.

Absolutely loved this little cottage in the mountains. So charming. Our two little poodles loved it too. The host was super communicative and very helpful when we had an unexpected emergency vet visit. Would absolutely stay there again (but might not be able to make myself leave next time).

The privacy made our stay real intimate. Also the best location to get into downtown during the day. We used Uber and fees were always less than 10 dollars!

My wife and I had a great vacation in the blue ridge mountains! Close to downtown, multiple trailheads, and a cozy stay. We’ll definitely be back.

The house was great - it was well appointed and had everything we needed - was close enough to town but far enough away - the tile work in both showers was astounding- would definitely stay again when in Asheville!

This house is a perfect compromise between those who want to be close to all the restaurants and activities of downtown Asheville, but who also want a mountain escape. It's a close drive to fantastic trails off the Blue Ridge Parkway and also a close drive to downtown. We loved being able to slip into the hot tub at the end of a long day. This house had everything we needed for a relaxing mountain vacation!

This home is perfect. There are so many little touches. The showers are beautiful. The backyard is a quiet oasis. We had our dog with us for this stay and there are many places nearby for walks. The pet area is perfect as well. The bed is comfortable and the seating areas are all perfect. See you again soon

This house and property are wonderful. Everything about the whole process of booking, checking in, working the hot tub, fireplace and all the other perks was easy. We even requested/stayed an extra night, and Tammy was very accommodating. We have already booked another stay. I highly recommend. We also took our two small dogs. The outside area was perfect for them.

Was perfect for a quick weekend getaway. We didn’t have the dogs with us but would be totally great to bring them next time, and we would definitely go back! Clean and easy, like a vacation should be.

My spouse and stayed at the cute cottage. It was an enjoyable stay. The only hiccup was the sound on the TV/Sound bar wouldn’t work. We worked around it but other than that it was an enjoyable stay. We would stay there again.

This was a fantastic find in Asheville! We spent a week at the home and truly enjoyed it. Everything, as previous reviews have stated is spot on. The home was very clean, meticulously well thought out, and loved the backyard amenities. We hit Asheville at peak leaf color and it was just phenomenal. The home is very convienently located to the Blue Ridge Parkway, which was extra special. Tammy was very responsive to any concerns and the check-in/out process was perfect. Can't wait to visit again soon!

Extremely, extremely clean with moderness. Beautiful outdoor backyard and wonderful for the pups. Jacquizzi was so relaxing with a glass of wine, having coffee with a morning firepit going, evenings with fireplace. Architectual everything so thought out. Everything was really wonderful. Beds and living room couches very comfy. Tammy responded immediately and very friendly. We will be back!

We really enjoyed this house. It was clean, tidy and well put together. The bathrooms especially were clean and felt luxurious. The outdoor space is beautiful and absolutely perfect for our dog since it is completely fenced in including a gate at the driveway. The location was just what we wanted, close to town as we were there for a concert. We will absolutely be back for another visit in the future. Thank you!

Wonderful private property. Close enough to town to partake in nightlight, far enough to be relaxing and quiet. Great private outdoor space and nice front patio

I absolutely love this place and can't recommend it enough! Tammy, the host, is extremely helpful and responsive to questions and inquiries. And if you are traveling with dogs, this is a dream location with the completely private fenced yard and owners who seems to be dog lovers themselves! The interior is nice and modern and always clean. The lighting and the hooks for hanging things are also very well thought out. Three miles from a grocery store, 5 miles from downtown, and 5 miles from the River Arts district, the location is perfect! This will always be my go-to place to stay in Asheville!

This cute house was a great location for a little getaway. My husband and I stayed here for a weekend visit to Asheville. We came to the area to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway, do a little hiking, and just do some relaxing. We loved the backyard. It was totally private. Even though the weather was warm, we did use the hot tub to soothe our muscles after a long hike. I would definitely recommend this house for a couples getaway.
