About this house rental
The 3,700 square ft. Galena RowHouse is a beautiful vacation rental home that sleeps 10, complete with a full kitchen. It's ONE BLOCK from Galena's Main Street and shopping district. With private off street parking; experience town at a casual pace. Walk anywhere in Galena... any day of the week... any time of the year. The home is near Galena's many walking paths leading out of town as well.
Our vacation home has 3 floors and is one of the most authentic places to stay in Galena. It was built in1846 of locally made Galena brick and limestone and will complete your historical Galena experience. All of the bedrooms are located on the second and third floors, with the third floor showcasing a private retreat with attached full bath.
In the early 1900s, the house was redecorated in mission style, and has been recently restored to include a modern kitchen and bathrooms. The house overlooks the Fever River and has a charming side porch to seat guests.

We really enjoyed staying here with our whole family for our daughter’s wedding in Galena. Great historic home, well appointed, great owners wonderful location easy access to everything. We had to manage a shower schedule but that was our only concern.

Our group had the best time in Galena! This home was perfect for us! If you appreciate beautiful old homes and are able to walk up and down stairs, this place is perfect. It has big bedrooms and very comfortable furniture. It’s an easy walk to shopping and has private as well as street parking. We loved it and would definitely come back.

My girls and I stayed here for 2 nights, there were 9 of us and we never felt crowded. The home was very convenient for getting down to the main strip and easy to find! I would definitely recommend this home to anyone but please be aware that there are a lot of stairs in the home as well as up/down to the main street area.

This absolutely beautiful home was exactly as advertised. The location was wonderful. We walked everywhere. The home was gorgeous and clean and so well appointed. Everything was so thoughtfully laid out for us. We loved the time in the home relaxing outside and in. We enjoyed listening to the records provided on the turntable. I read each morning in the sunroom. Enough space for a family of 5 to spread out and also we were able to spend time together in the living spaces. Our first two nights a deer even came to graze on the hill behind the house. The neighborhood was safe and friendly and I’m so glad that this gem of a home was saved and restored so we could enjoy it.

We have the most amazing time as a great away with my mom, sister, and son. It was our first time in Galena and it was absolutely the perfect spot! The home is lovely, very comfortable, and in an amazing location! All of the info that Mary has available to guests helped us pick some great restaurants and shops! We will be back!

We wanted to go to Galena for a long weekend with my adult children over spring break. The house is located one block north of Main Street and the three story house has great views of the city. We were able to walk to everything even the local magic show. The house is beautiful and even more importantly very comfortable. We all slept well in the bedrooms which were warm and super cosy. A good night sleep is so important after days of shopping and hiking. We were only a group of 4 but the house could comfortably accommodate many more people. I would highly recommend.

This house has a lot of history and the owners have done a great job keeping it beautiful! With all the historic charm!
It has everything you need and then some. The linens are super nice and comfy!

Just steps away from downtown Galena for wonderful shopping and dining. There are a lot of stairs in the house so keep that in mind, and stairs walking to and from downtown as Church street sit above the downtown.
Private parking a plus, but street parking didn't seem to be a problem. To our surprise bedrooms were all spacious and decorated so lovey. Wonderful character in the house from woodwork to beautiful light fixtures, Met the neighbor next door, lovely person. She even took a few pictures of our group before we checked out. Our stay here for girls weekend created great memories for us, Thank you!

We had a mini family reunion with 6 adults and 2 kids, and this beautiful house worked really well for us. It’s convenient to everything and made for a very fun Halloween night stay. We felt like we were in the Sirius Black’s hideout. Fun place for sure!

Four of my friends and I stayed here for 3 nights. We had a wonderful time. The space is just what we needed. The main floor with the kitchen and living room had all we needed to feel at home. We each had our own bedroom space where we could rest comfortably. The house is the best location if you plan to spend a lot of time downtown, which is something I highly recommend. The walk to the shops and coffee houses is down only one flight of steps. Another big plus is the private parking. We've stayed at other places and have had to park in the street or in tight parking lots, but this house has its own private driveway. That's a big win.
Overall we had a wonderful trip and we felt right at home. We definitely plan to stay here again.

Great stay at the row house! Loved the extra touches: bath linens in every bedroom, face wipes in every bathroom, laminated list of kitchen specialty items, fliers on things to do in Galena. We would recommend highly!

This is our favorite place to stay. It is spacious and lovely and in a perfect location to walk to downtown. We love to sit on the porch, drink coffee, and enjoy spending time together.

The house was very charmingly decorated with beautiful high quality antique furniture, rugs, and paintings. It was probably the most beautifully decorated vacation rental that I've rented so far. We had a wonderful time in Galena shopping, eating, and listening to live music. I like that you can walk everywhere you need to go and the house has private parking! We would certainly stay in this house again!

Five Friends took a shopping trip to Galena and loved our stay. The home has everything you could want! The two with the best knees stayed in the two bedrooms on top floor. The other three stayed in three bedrooms on second floor. Beds, pillows, and bedding were wonderful! We would definitely book again.

Beautiful historic home very close to shopping. Accommodations were lovely and comfortable seating for our group when dining and visiting. Only wish was that there was another shower. With eight people staying and only one shower we really had to coordinate. Bath tub on the 3rd floor was beautiful but not really convenient. Even with that said, we would all highly recommend your row house to anyone visiting Galena.

Our group of six women (ages 48-61) absolutely loved our stay in the Galena Row House! Very welcoming accommodations with special touches to make our stay even better. Great view from the house and one street up from Main Street where there is an abundance of GREAT dining options and fabulous shopping. One set of stairs from our street down to Main.
Within a stone's throw is the Galena Bakehouse for quick breakfast treats--don't miss the Breakfast Empanadas! Highlights included the Trolley Tour of Galena (a must-do), lunch on the patio of Vinny Vanucci's Italian restaurant, the Bread Pudding at Embe (went back for it four times!) and the unique shops.
The Row House gets 5 Stars for location alone...we didn't need a car to access all the shops and restaurants. We parked two SUVs easily in the driveway. The one shower worked just fine for six women, and there is an additional soaking tub and a powder room, so it all worked. We so appreciated the extra air-conditioning in the top-floor bedrooms.
I highly recommend this property and I hope to come back here again soon! Thank you for sharing your beautiful, historic home with us.

The location of this property is perfect! Close walking distance to Main Street. Property was a well maintained beautiful historic home on a quiet street. You had a little “old world charm” from the church bells next door— but still provided a quiet nights sleep. Patio and outdoor spaces made this the perfect getaway place for my girlfriend’s group! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us!

The house was beautiful. It is perfectly located 1 block up from Main St. This was a family and friends weekend stay for my parents birthday weekend get away. We enjoyed the history of the house and the layout was unique. Only having 1 shower was a bit of a struggle but their were plenty of outlets in the bedrooms to get ready after showers so it worked ok. Thank you for this unique experience! We will be back again.

Can’t beat the location. Bypass struggles with parking and walk to the shops (if you can manage stairs; it’s a street UP from the river/Main Street). The house also requires stairs to get to the bedrooms.
The house is beautifully restored, with so many amazing features- a first level shaded porch and six chairs, large dining table, games for kids, small lawn area, tv area with two couches and Tv.
Parking was great— two cars fit next to each other and a third behind; you have to do a little maneuvering with three, but there is free street parking, and you likely won’t drive much.
Overall, we couldn’t have chosen a better place for our stay and thank the owners for keeping this piece of history alive.

We, as a group of 8 senior citizens, enjoyed our weekend staying at this house. It was a great location and a very nice place to stay. We enjoyed seeing the sights and going to the balloon festival. We would highly recommend this property as a great place to stay.

Loved the home and it's location. Very convenient to Main Street, with both on and off street parking available. The home was well appointed and very clean. If you can't do steps then this property is not for you, that being said, I highly recommend this property and hope to return again.

Girls weekend! Awesome home. Clean, comfortable and cozy. Can park your car in the driveway and walk to town. Great shopping and restaurants. Been to Galena several times, but never stayed in town. Looking forward to returning!

The place is really cool! The whole town is friendly and the restaurants and bakeries are on point. I want to come back…the hot air balloon festival sounds fun! Glad we stopped in Galena. It’s truly a special place. We enjoyed the literature on Galena in the home. I can’t think of a better way to spend a quick two day vacation!

Our little family and friends outing turned out just about perfect, thanks in no small part to the wonderful accommodations. The Galena RowHouse is exactly as listed - charming, inviting, immaculate, full of character and comfort. Also steeped in history and graced everywhere with little personal touches by the hosts. Whether into snow sports, bird watching, gourmet cuisine, card games with weird rules (what can I say, we are an idiosyncratic bunch) or something else entirely, you will be glad you stayed here.

This in-town rowhouse was walking distance to all Galena has, even in the winter. Short drive to Chestnut Mountain Skiing. Plenty of room for all of us. One bathtub and one shower but plenty of room for 10 adults. Clean and tidy.
