This air-conditioned direct oceanfront unit on the 3rd floor (with elevator) overlooks a large lava tide pool that is frequented by turtles and colorful Hawaiian reef fish. This beautifully remodeled and furnished condo features an oceanfront living room and master bedroom with unparalleled 180 degree ocean views and access to spectacular Kona sea life and sunsets. Your cares dissolve away as warm sun and soothing surf caress your mind and body in your comfortable chairs. We arrived in the evening after a 13 hr flight, so we dropped straight to sleep in the very comfortable beds. Opened our eyes the next morning and all my husband and I could say was Wow..! The view is amazing - ocean as far as the eyes can see, waves crashing on the rocks, a sound that I never tire of hearing. Got the teens out of bed and made them go check out the view - it did not disappoint!
We took a look around the condo and it was exaclty as described. Cozy, open, renovated areas (ie bathrooms and i believe the kitchen) and very well stocked. So well, we found Kona beers in the fridge! No guarantees you'll be that lucky, but it was nice to know that we could go grocery shopping and not worry that excess would go to waste. Storage in the balcony included boogey boards, water shoes, coolers and other essentials. Our teens have outgrown their full face snorkling masks so we 'donated' them, happy that they will be put to good use by future guests.
The unit has AC, which we turned on at night, only because i'm a hot sleeper. Otherwise, we kept the unit wide open to enjoy the breeze and listen to the waves. Admittedly some afternoons got warm but the many fans throughout helped. Full sized washer/dryer came in super handy.
The owner was very communicative - lots of helpful info! - and I'm sure would have been there if needed, though we had no issues. I could go on but suffice it to say, it was a lovely stay - definitely recommend!

Wonderful condo rental for a family. Lovely breeze from the deck, appreciated having coolers available, loved watching the waves from just feet away day and night. Owner was easy to work with, highly recommend.

No surprises here, everything was exactly as advertised. The view and location are great. There was a turtle in the tide pool area just below the balcony and several eels as well. Great property!

Loved the view and relaxing on the deck. Fun to watch the surfers, see turtles, and awesome sunsets. The house had everything our family needed and was so comfortable. The pool was great after a long day out and you have the best poke place around right on property, Da Poke Shack.
Thank you, Mike, for sharing this little piece of paradise. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We live on the island and have stayed at numerous condos in different areas for decades. Most Alii Drive condos have cheap furniture and appliances , so this was a nice surprise in the tasteful and high end high quality furnishings the view and location are great. The unit was very clean and everything worked great. The downsides have nothing to do with the owner:unit.
The condo owner was responsive and polite. The photos and descriptions were accurate. The condo layout is a little strange and there is little privacy. The pool is super small. I would not choose this condo (or the complex generally) for anyone other than a couple or maybe a couple with s single child as it is so cramped.
A downstairs neighbor came up to rudely complain to us about furniture dragging at all hours which was actually happening at a unit above us. The pool was often unusable due to many children taking it over and splashing and bullying others.
The on-property management/security were rude and hostile but also didn’t seem to actually enforce any rules.

Wow! We couldn’t be any closer to the ocean. Great views from a great lanai.
Mike’s place had everything. It was one of the best equipped condos we’ve stayed in. We will definitely return.

Everything we hoped for, great location in south Kona.

Great rental. Nice wide lanai. Could wake up to the roar of the surf and see the shore while laying in bed. Numerous fans were provided to help with the air flow breeze. Bedding was quite comfy. Plenty of parking during out stay in mid-May. It was all very nice.

Only problem was safe doesn't work. Tried new batteries, but still reads error. But this was minor. View from lanai is great.

Overall great place to stay.

Nice central west location provided good access to the West side of the island and 1 hour and 45 minute drive to Hilo area. Loved being next to the water and seeing and hearing the waves crash on rocks below. Saw sea turtles, sea urchins, crabs and fish in the rocky ocean front. Condo had all we needed for cooking and going to the beach. Housed my crew of 6 well.

Loved the lanai overlooking tide pools, surfing, and whales! Central location for all we wanted to do- surfing, snorkeling, Kona center, and the best Poke place right at the complex. Well stocked for all our needs, and Mike provided abundant and detailed info for sightseeing, restaurants, condo info, etc. great vacation and we hope to come back!
Only minor surprise was only one couch in the living room. For a family of four this is one of the things I look for, the images show two, but it worked out fine.

The view is gorgeous! Pictures can't do it justice. You won't want to leave your lanai! Host was communicative and accommodating. Great location, highly recommend!

Absolutely loved staying here with my husband and daughter. Easy access to everything- ocean, beaches, shopping, main highways, attractions, airport, etc. Property owner even put together a guide to local and far away attractions/restaurants that we utilized consistently.

This unit is every bit as beautiful as the listing shows. what the listing can't communicate is the sound of the waves crashing and how wonderful it is. Having the ocean in sight at all times was such a luxury. I saw a turtle from the balcony and others saw whales breaching from their balconies while we were there. We also enjoyed watching the surfers. There was a youth surfing competition while we were there which we could watch from the balcony. Mike also provided lots of information to help make the trip a success. You won't regret booking this vacation rental!

The place is very clean and easy to check in or out. The kitchen is full of supplies, which is amazing!
In the morning we enjoyed watching surfers in the ocean on our balcony. In the evening. it's a great place to see the sunset. Great place to stay!
Mike is a very responsible owner, always quick responses with quite a lot of useful information.
Thank you, Mike!!

Stunning view of the ocean from the lanai. Home was very clean. Appreciated the availability of the beach gear at the home.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It was convenient to Kona restaurants and shopping and also to the Kona coffee farms. Nice furniture inside and out. The lanai was very spacious and a good place to enjoy the ocean view. As someone who appreciates good coffee, finding a coffee grinder in the kitchen was a nice touch. A four port charger for devices was in the living room which was useful and not something we usually find in rental properties. There were fans everywhere which helped keep the place cool. It was hot when we visited and the ceiling fan in the master bedroom seemed underpowered compared to the ceiling fans in the rest of the property but the available floor fans helped. Kitchen seemed to have everything you would need. We couldn’t figure out how to turn on the kitchen fan without turning on the kitchen light which was a minor inconvenience. The living room seemed dark with the dark wood and the dark upholstery. Lighter upholstery would have made the room seem brighter.

The room was spacious and clean.
The view from the lanai was fantastic!
Check-in went smoothly.
Above all, the owner is always ready to give helpful advice and information.

This property showed the most amazing sunsets. I loved eating breakfast on the balcony and sitting on the balcony while the sun went down. It’s a quick drive to down town area, and a quick walk to a marketplace with a taco food truck. Great location.

Everything you could ever want! Very clean, nice decor, great views, and Mike was even available for me to ask questions. Couldn’t ask for anything more ! Except maybe air conditioning … but that’s part of the Hawaii experience right? :)

We had a great stay at this ocean view condo. The kitchen was very well stocked which made the little bit of cooking that we did a breeze! The host shared a wealth of very useful information that helped us plan our adventures around the Big Island. The beach chairs came in handy for trips to the surrounding beaches. Easy access and well located for day trips on the west side of the island. Mahalo!

The view was amazing, sleeping right next to the ocean is so great. Loved the location too.

We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teens). Sunsets and lanai area were wonderful. Nice to be at a smaller property as nothing was crowded or noisy. Condo was really well stocked with necessities saving us time and money: coffee, laundry detergent, first aid kit, ziplock bags etc. You can tell the host comes and stays occasionally and was really attentive. Kids saw turtles in the tide pools on the first day!

Great location and the drive to downtown is just a few minutes. The view is fantastic. Communication with the property manager was great. No issues at all.

Dream location! I loved listening to the crashing waves while falling asleep at night and waking up in the morning.

This was our first visit to Hawaii big island it was so much fun. Best feature is the ocean view especially during sunset. The condo was clean and well prepared with everything you need for water activities like snorkeling gear and small surf boards. The host left detailed instructions of things to do in the island so make sure to check it out as it will save you research time. There is a parking lot underneath the building, a pool with jacuzzi, a popular poke shack and bbqs.
We will certainly come back!

The property was even bigger than expected and well appointed with all necessities and then some. The owner was communicative and super accomodating especially with last minute changes-additions. The place was immaculate-the only "downside" was that the jacuzzi didnt work at the pool but not a big deal as the ocean was right outside. Hope to get to return-would stay here again and again.

My wife, 3 children aged 10, 12, and 16 all had an amazing time at the Condo! The kitchen had everything we needed, the lanai was the perfect spot for a morning coffee and drinks in the evening, where the beautiful sunstes can sweep all your cares away. We had plenty of beach and water supplies to keep us entertained the whole time. The condo was close to the beach, town, grocery shopping, and the view couldn't have been better. We'll definitely be going back, and staying in the condo again someday. Thanks Mike for a great stay!

Our Grandmothers/Granddaughters vacation was spectacular and this property was especially comfortable as our last accommodation. The well-appointed rooms and totally stocked kitchen were much appreciated. It was exceptionally clean, bright and airy. It was great to have a washer/dryer to take care of laundry. Cool sea breezes flowed through the living room and the constant wave action rocked us to sleep. Relaxing on the lanai, we watched surfers, boats, parasailing flights, local birds and sea life which changed every day. We even saw the "Buck Moon" and the resulting high tide. This is the perfect location for local access to beaches, shops and restaurants and for touring the island to the National Volcano Park, Hilo and activities like Zip Lining. A dip in the pool was very pleasant and parking was secure and always available. Maintenance was efficient when we had one small request. The owner, Mike, was very attentive and helpful. We look forward to visiting again.

We had a wonderful stay! Two bedrooms, kitchen and lanai…didn’t need anything more! Well equipped with beach supplies! Great assortment of kitchen pantry items, and spectacular view from both sides!
Tide pools, location to surrounding activities, if only we had more days of vacation!
Mike provided so much information about the area, it helped us plan our days.
Thanks for the attention to detail all along the way!

Location couldn't be more perfect and the unit itself is easily one of the best we've ever encountered. Extremely well stocked kitchen, very nice updates and every convenience included. Very quick and clear communication from host. No AC but with ceiling fans throughout and the ocean breeze it was not missed at all. Would love to return and can highly recommend.

Perfect Ocean Wave Therapy. Exceeded my expectations. Fantastic views. Loved watching the surfers, especially in the early morning...and when I found the binoculars hanging behind the door, I knew I was in the right place. Everything you need to have a great time in Kona. The bedrooms are separated so you don't hear anything but the ocean....put me to sleep every night. Mahalo Mike G.!

This was a wonderful place for our family of four. The condo is right overlooking the tide pools of the rocky coast. The sound of the waves is magical. Easy to find, nice non-crowded pool and hot tub, good kitchen with everything you need. The only thing I was surprised to see was no AC (my fault for not reading all the other reviews closely), but it was not at all needed.
A great place right on the coast, we would love to return on another visit.

Everything was as nice as they advertise. Check in and out was easy. Mike was a great host. He called to see how everything was going just as we arrived. We had a small problem with the tv in the spare bedroom but just let him know and someone was there to check it out within a couple of hours. There was plenty of beach gear to use and beach towels. Kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. Had a great week on the island and picked a great place to stay. Will stay here again if we every make it back to the Big Island.
