Two families stayed here while skiing at Bretton Woods. Home was very spacious and we loved the fireplace room for apre ski! Appreciated that it was dog friendly too. Host was very communicative and accommodating.

House has lots of character as an older home, but also plenty of room. It was very nice having the two living room spaces so that there was space for some people to quietly read while others played games in the other space. Location on Main Street, but also a very short drive to Cannon, Artists Bluff/Bald Mountain (who could have predicted that we would be hiking there in late December), and Littleton is great. Mattresses upstairs are not new and upstairs shower takes some acrobatics to get low enough to wash your hair, but that was part of the charm of the place.

This is a charming farmhouse, just down the road from all you need. The place is very large and extremely clean. It is everything it is advertised to be and more. We had a great time with the grandkids roasting marshmallows, hiking around Cannon Mt., swimming at Echo Lake and playing games in the evening at the house. Thanks for great memories!

My husband & I along with our son & daughter in law and 7 week old baby daughter felt right at home in this farmhouse. Plenty of space for everyone including our golden retriever who loved the back yard. Just loved the sound of the river flowing directly across the street. Would definitely stay there again!

We had a great time staying at the property for a long weekend. It is centrally located and an easy drive to a lot of great hikes, fun breweries and local swimming holes.

Farmhouse that has charm for days. Plenty of space for a large group with multiple living areas. Most of our time was spent with the wood burning fireplace going after long days at Cannon which is only about a 10 minute drive.
Walkable to Iron Furnace Brewery and to shops and restaurants. The location is also only a 15 minute drive from Littleton which is a must visit in the area.

Roomy but cozy, excellent room to spread out. Fireplace worked great and plenty of firewood. Ample parking. House well stocked and "older house" charming. Beds comfortable. Great location - walking distance to restaurants and full service grocery store, and to the Fox Hill hiking trail system. Good base for cannon, Loon.
Looking forward to staying again next winter!

We stayed here Thanksgiving weekend. One child and 7 adults. Plenty of room for all and fully equipped to prep meals. Cool home, feel like you are back in time, heat was efficient given the age of the home. Quiet and convenient area.
Could use a good cleaning to get rid of dust bunnies, webs and pet hair. Kitchen seemed clean but bathrooms seemed to lack a recent cleaning.

We gathered with 4 generations of relatives to celebrate the life of a man who was a hut master at Lonesome Lake in 1948. The house was a great location for this and worked well for this beautiful, colorful weekend.

Went to Franconia for a family vacation. The big farmhouse was very accommodating for my husband and I with our daughter and her family of 5. The large yard was great for the kids and dog to run around. Plenty of restaurants and market just down the street. Great location to make home base to explore Franconia state park. Karen was very quick to respond to messages. Can’t wait to return we just love the mountains.

We had a great stay in Franconia for our family reunion weekend. There is not an abundance of rentals to choose from in this area and the location - centrally located in Franconia - was perfect for us. We had 9 family members and the size of the house was perfect for our group. The house was old but well kept and was well supplied. It was a HOT weekend so we would have liked to have some A/C in the bedrooms but lots of fans helped us stay comfortable and their was an A/C in the TV room which turned on in the evening. Overall would recommend for either summer or winter - would be good for a ski weekend as well as it is close to Cannon Mtn. Thanks!

We very much appreciated being able to bring our dogs with us on vacation and had a great amount of space to play board games, read, etc.

Spacious home with great location
The home and yard are very spacious. The updated appliances were really appreciated, especially the ice/water dispenser in the new side by side fridge. We hit a very hot and humid week, so the bedrooms were quite warm without A/C.
Karen said they're going to prioritize that project. That would make a wonderful improvement.

A wonderful home!
We had a fabulous time in this beautiful old farmhouse within easy walking distance of restaurants, shopping, a fabulous library, an art walk and the river. Karen was incredibly responsive and helpful and the house is very well supplied and stocked. The large backyard with fire pit and flat driveway were perfect for our 2 year old grandson to play in and ride his bike around. There is so much to do in and around Franconia with Littleton a short drive away. This is a comfortable, clean place to use as a base to explore the White Mountains!

Very disappointing
The location was accurately described and we liked the quaint, friendly town. However, we felt the “meticulous” and “spotless” descriptions in the property listing were misleading . Outdoor lanterns were leaning over, front porch rocking chairs were broken and there was a dead Christmas planter outside the back door (it was mid-March). There was a septic-like smell when we entered, peeling paint/wallpaper and Christmas decorations (some dead) throughout (again, it was mid-March). The handrail on the stairs leading to the second floor was unsafely loose and attached to the wall with a dowel and a screw. In the upstairs bathroom, there were several dead flies on the counter upon arrival, the bathroom light consisted of a bare lightbulb, the grout in the shower was completely black, the toilet was stabilized with shingles shoved under it, the bathroom floor was unstable and buckled up and down when walked on and a wall covering behind the mirror was frayed, faded and hanging off the wall.

Great get away to Cannon Mountain
This home was a great getaway for a quick trip to Cannon Mountain. Great location to hit the mountain early and get in some good turns. Loved returning to the home to relax by the fire (lots of seasoned firewood provided) and cook in the well equipped kitchen. Lots of room for our party of 6. And I can't say enough wonderful things about our host, Karen. Very responsive and super accommodating when we had a change in our plans. Thanks for everything!

Just What We Needed
We had the most wonderful, relaxing visit. The house had everything we needed to make for a homey experience, replete with an excellent little record collection! Karen was super responsive and beyond helpful in plying us with a range of recommended hikes, recreational spots, sites, and restaurant options. We’d love to return during ski season! Thanks for everything!!

Charming house in a beautiful location
We really loved the historic nature of this beautiful home, situated right on the edge of Charming Franconia. The owners provided a lot of helpful information and our stay was comfortable. We took advantage of the big yard for our kids to run around in, and multiple bedrooms so that everyone had their privacy and a good night's sleep. Thank you!

Perfect property & location!
My family of 10 plus our dogs stayed in this old, but well kept, house in Franconia! The house had plenty of room for our large group and the location was near everything you would want to do in the White Mountains. Karen (host) responded very promptly to my many questions. I highly recommend this property!

Family Vacation
We rented the house for our quiet family vacation. Check-in was super easy. Everything in the house is clearly labeled, so it was easy to get acclimated and make ourselves at home.
With the cool evenings we were able to take advantage of the indoor fireplace. We sat around and played numerous rounds of Uno.
We loved the hiking and exploring of Franconia Notch State Park and the White Mountains. All in all a wonderful trip!

Wonderful Winter Getaway
Our family of four adults and one senior dog enjoyed an idyllic week "working" remotely and playing as well. Ample wifi to continue remote work and college classes combined with easy access to beautiful hiking and nearby ski resorts for playtime! History lovers like me will thoroughly enjoy imagining this small village and historic home along the river in the days when horses hitched in front of the home as neighbors visited one another. The home itself is very clean, spacious, comfortable and welcoming. I would love to return sometime during summer or Fall to experience the area in a whole new way. The owner is easily accesible by text with any concerns or questions and responds quickly. No reason at all to not thoroughly recommend this stay in Franconia.

Quintessential ski house
Charming old 1800’s house furnished comfortably for guests, showing off trinkets and memorabilia from the owners’ family of years of happy memories at the house. Close to town center and ski resorts, and situated just off the highway for easy accessibility.

Comfortable and cozy
There was plenty of room--to be together or to spread out. Places to walk to nearby with a stroller for the nonskiers. Well equipped, homey, clean, easy to get to even in bad weather. Would definitely stay here again!

Lovely old New England home.
Our family had a fantastic time in this lovely home. Games and activities for our entire family both at the house and in the area. The fireplace was lovely and the home had plenty of room for all of us!

Welcoming and cozy
Our family of four had a great time staying at this wonderful house for our last minute skiing trip. Lovely den with festive lights and a wood burning fireplace to play board games around and watch movies after skiing at nearby Cannon and Bretton Woods.. Karen the owner was helpful with all her instructions and answers and has appointed the house with a great personal touch that gives it so much characters. Checking in and out was a breeze. Well appointed kitchen and ample bedrooms made our stay comfortable. The throne in the upstairs bathroom is a little rickety and could be fixed.

This is an absolutely beautiful and charming farmhouse with plenty of room for a large family !
We decided on a lat minute ski getaway and happened upon this beautifully decorated farmhouse. We fell in love the moment we entered. Spotless with every amenity one could ask for. Convenient to Canon Mountain with plenty of nearby food establishments . Karen the owner was so very accommodating with a quick response time to any inquiries we had. We would def I felt rent this property again and are looking forward to spending a longer period of time !

Plenty of Room
The house was very clean and described correctly. It’s exactly as you would expect a NH house to be. Fireplace room was very large and accommodated all 9 of us very well. We skied at Brettenwoods and it was an easy 20 min drive. Plenty of firewood was stocked in the house. The house had everything we needed and we would absolutely stay there again!

Excellent, Relaxing Stay in NH
Lovely old house on a lovely lot in a beautiful area of the country. Plenty of space for us as a family of 4, coffee on the porch in the morning, relaxing in the den in the evening, hiking, cycling, and being outdoors in between. A fantastic trip.

Charming and spacious home!
My family and I stayed here for a week in August. My children loved the house and large family room with games. There was plenty of room for us to all spread out. The front deck with rocking chairs was very relaxing. Weather was wonderful and the fans provided were great at night. We did not need to use the AC during our stay. Nearby Echo Lake Beach is beautiful! We look forward to our next visit!

Super summer vacation
We thoroughly enjoyed staying in Franconia and at the beautiful old farm home on Main Street. The house was spacious and charming - and the property was just lovely and peaceful. My family had a blast either handing around the kitchen or great room woth a massive sofa for all of us to fit and stretch out. The towns of Franconia and Sugar Hill are absolutely perfect New England small towns with a lot of charm and beauty. There is a Great brand new market In Franconia almost nicer than Whole Foods. The river across the street from the property was fun for us all week - it was very warm and we found it a great place to cool off after long hikes Or bike rides in Franconia notch Area. I can hardly wait to go back. I am sure it is just as charming and warm in the winter time too!
