About this house rental
Some say that Crescent Beach is the best beach in the St. Augustine area and we would have to agree! Nestled along the unspoiled dunes, you'll find Four Palms Beach House. With accommodations for up to 10 guests and a private boardwalk providing direct access to the warm sandy beach, it's easily one of the area's best vacation homes.
Spacious and superbly decorated, Four Palms has everything you'll need to make amazing memories. A covered deck spans the width of the house and overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. With a table and seating for six, the deck is perfect for savoring an alfresco meal while watching dolphins swim beyond the surf and seabirds soar past. Patio doors connect the deck to the spacious open-plan living space. A roomy sectional sofa allows the whole gang to kick back and watch a favorite movie on the 48” HDTV with DVD player.
Behind the sofa is a dining table that seats six, along with the breakfast bar with room for four more, everyone will have a spot during family brunch. If you’re vacationing with the kids, they can play a game back here while the grown-ups stretch out on the sofa, or you can set up your laptop to take advantage of the free WiFi.
The kitchen has its own table, with chairs for four and built-in banquettes. Fully equipped with gleaming appliances, cookware, and tableware, it opens up to a balcony overlooking lush landscaping and the famed Intracoastal Waterway beyond. Make a point of catching at least one sunset from this vantage point, camera in hand: You won’t want to miss the spectacular colors of the sky!
The primary suite, also on the third floor, has its own balcony facing the Intracoastal. Enjoy a nightcap in the deck chairs, gazing up at the stars, before retiring to the lofty king-size bed, where you can watch a favorite show on the HDTV. Plus, the en-suite bathroom has a large walk-in shower so you can pamper yourself, morning or night.
For maximum convenience, there’s a washer and dryer on the third floor, so you can pack light. And don't worry about packing towels or blankets. Four Palms Beach House will have plenty of fresh linens and bedding waiting for you.
With its own family room-- complete with 38” HDTV and a comfortable sofa that opens into a bed for two more--the second floor is almost its own mini apartment, which makes Four Palms Beach House a great choice for two families vacationing together. This floor has its own deck, furnished with two rocking chairs and a small table. It’s ideal for escaping with a book and a drink for some me time.
Three more bedrooms make up the second floor, and they’re all furnished with the same attention to detail as the primary suite. One has a king-size bed; the second, with ocean views, has a queen-size bed; the third, also overlooking the ocean, has a twin bed as well as bunk beds, so that up to three people can make this room their own. The three bedrooms share two full bathrooms, each with tub and shower.
There’s a second laundry area on the ground floor (again, perfect for two families traveling together!). Guests can use one of the garages on this level (the other garage is locked for owner use), and the huge driveway can easily accommodate another six cars. The patio has a grill so that you can cook up your catch from a day spent fishing on the Matanzas River… or burgers and dogs from one of the nearby supermarkets.
The patio leads to the private boardwalk that takes you over the dunes to sparkling Crescent Beach. Given how close you are, you’ll no doubt be dashing back and forth all day. Should you tire of the beach, however (hard to imagine, we know!), there are plenty of other activities just minutes away to enjoy during your stay: fishing, biking, hiking, and boating along the Intracoastal; touring St. Augustine’s Old City; Marineland…
For a great vacation, you need a great place to stay in a great location. Four Palms Beach House is just that place. You deserve the best, so go ahead: Book your vacation here today.

Wonderful beach and quiet area
4.0
House is comfortable with easy access to beach. The downstairs has a door directly onto the lower deck with outdoor shower and boardwalk to the beach. The house is a bit more worn than the photos indicate. There are not as many chairs on the upper deck as indicated and the couch slipcover is showing a lot of wear and tear. And the common area - living room/dining room/kitchen - is really too small for the number of people that can sleep there.

This house was as described and has good beach access. Access has quite a few steps which was fine for us, but something to consider.

We had a really nice stay at 4 Palms. The house was a great size and the beach was beautiful.

Very nice place. The area was safe feeling, the beach was a nice beach. The porch was a highlight. We ate most of our meals on the porch. Many stairs to go up and down, with the main living area and porch being on the uppermost level. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms spacious, and everything was pretty much like the listing said. Check-in and check-out very simple. We would recommend this place.

Reunion with siblings with plenty of room. Large bedrooms which accommodate all 9 of us. The location was nice to grocery stores and we mostly stayed on the large porch!

We had a great stay. some of my ratings are due to the property needing some maintenance. Some items at the house are broke. The inside was clean but needed deep cleaning. One bad thing is we arrived an hour early but could not get in and had to go down the street to use the bathroom. Never had that issue before. Additionally the property list 6 car parking, but not with a sail boat parked in the driveway.

The location and the space in the house was everything we hoped for. Linens were fresh.
And the house was very clean, which is most important to me. There are some tired areas that need painting, however. So appreciated the great selection of beach chairs, umbrella, etc. and the kitchen is very well stocked. Could use a couple more trash bags for a week stay
we had an amazing memorable time!!

We loved the place! It was everything we wanted for a relaxing vacation. Even with some rainy days, we were able to enjoy the beautiful view e peaceful beach.

There are not enough trash bags, dish washer pods or toilet paper rolls. I loaded the dishwasher upon departure, but did not run it as there was not ANY dishwasher detergent. With the kitchen and the extensive service, I cannot believe those items were lacking.

The property was very nice and in a great location. Furnishings are excellent and the layout of the floors made it perfect for visiting while cooking or just enjoying the great view of the ocean.

Myself, my now husband, mother, grandparents, and my best friend stayed here for my wedding. We were looking for a house with direct beach access as we were getting married on the beach and figured that would be easier than getting ready and having to drive somewhere else for the ceremony. The house IS beautiful with breathtaking views. It is very spacious. There are a lot of steps though. There is a whole bathroom and a suite with a king bed and en suite bathroom on the top floor along with a living room and kitchen. We put my grandparents in that bedroom so they didn't have to use the stairs except to leave.
The boardwalk and porch stairs can be slippery when wet so be careful in the morning and when it rains. The kitchen is well stocked so cooking is easy (except lack of dish towels). Definitely bring your own paper towels and toilet paper as the stuff they leave for you are terrible. Also bring extra blankets and towels. They do have some beach chairs and umbrellas!
The only reason I docked a star is because of the hot water. I guess the property hadn't been used in a while so the hot water smelled like rotten eggs. Badly. The smell filled the entire house. I called the office our first night there because if we were going to need a different property I wanted to deal with it night one so we could focus on the wedding. Someone from the office called about an hour and a half later, instructed us to just run the water and see if the smell goes away. We did exactly that in every faucet and shower. The smell did go away, but it filled the entire house. We had left to go to Night of Lights, dinner, and ice cream. The smell was so strong we could smell it even outside when we returned several hours later. It would be nice if the company would take care of this before someone arrives if the property has been sitting empty, especially for the cost. I'm glad it worked out well so we didn't have to scramble for a new stay while dealing with wedding stuff as well.
All in all we really enjoyed our stay. The house is beautiful and mostly worth it. If you have people with you with mobility issues, it may not work out or put them on the top floor to minimize going up and down. I would also encourage you to contact the rental company to inquire about anyone staying there and see if they can help you with the stench of the water. For the price and the fact it's vacation, renters shouldn't be left to deal with such a disgusting, pungent smell.

Great location, easy walk to the beach.
105 steps to the beach. Great location. A good fit for our family, six adults and two kids aged two and five. Great view from the upper porch. The outside shower came in very handy. The rocking chair next to the grill was broken but we didn't need it anyway since we always sat on the porch upstairs. We used the grill a few times and it worked well. The refrigerator door had a tendency to swing out and hit the wall, but we put a chair there with a pillow in it to stop that from happening.

Location is key
The house met all of our needs. Direct access to the beach was key with little ones. I will definitely be back.

Great beach location!
Great location. Getting to the beach is so easy. The upstairs porch is wonderful - you can watch the pelicans flying over! The house has everything you need. Could use a few minor repairs but very comfortable. Would definitely rent again!

Wrong key code
Everything was great regarding the property—just what we were looking for. Our only complaint was that upon a ping day of travel, with tired kids ready for bed, we couldn’t get in the property. The code given to us for the property was not correct. Seems like a fairly essential task for a management company to provide accesss to the property. Despite having Vtrips separate app with the presumed purpose of providing instant updates regarding the property, the wrong code was provided.

Great location - just looks a little tired
The location was amazing - right on the beach, beautiful view and easy beach access. Property is a little tired - needs painting in and out, towels are worn, NO beach towels, blankets or chairs provided - two rusted ones in the garage, but i dont think that counts.
Overall propery is clean, beds were comfortable, and like i mentioned, location could not be beat. Added bonus is Moses Creek Recreational Area is 5 min away with a really fun 6 mile mountain bike trail.

Well needed vacation! Beautiful beach not overly crowded.
Nice open kitchen/living room makes togetherness great. Being we cook a lot it was nice to have a kitchen with a lot of cooking utensils, pots, etc. I was very impressed on cleanliness. It felt like a home away from home. We took our kids and grandkids 10 of us in all and we had plenty of room.

The house was clean and well maintained. Location was great- on a beautiful and quiet beach stretch.
Renting was easy- great updates and communication from the rental property. Check out was particularly simple and straightforward.

A great place to get away
The property was exactly as described. All new amenities and the comfort was high with everything. The beds were super comfortable and the main living room couch was amazing. There are a lot of stairs, but it was a good workout. The beach access was perfect for our family and the kids, overall it was setup perfectly. Thanks to the property manager for making it so easy to check-in and out! I highly recommend the app!

Just a great week
We stayed here, my husband and I, with seven of our children, and had a great time. We really enjoyed the convenience of walking out to the beach several times a day. The house was clean, cheerful, and comfortable. There was plenty of room for everyone. Beds were soft, and water pressure was wonderful. One thing, though - the house is listed as having a jacuzzi and a slipper tub - it has neither. This isn't a deal breaker for us, but it irked me that it was listed improperly.

Pros and cons
Great house for a beach vacation. Best feature is the porch looking at the amazing sunrise in the morning. Beds are most comfortable and kitchen equipment is in excellent condition for cooking. Couch cushions, carpet and hand rails need cleaning.

Good rental, boardwalk needs fixed, wonderful porch
We had 6 adults and 2 kids stay in this house for a week in October. It was clean enough. The couch is stained and worn. It is definitely a lounging couch and not very comfortable to just sit in. There are 3 levels. The top level is where the kitchen and living areas are. There is also a king suite with street view and their own washer and dryer located off of the living room. There is another full bath on this level as well. The covered porch off this floor was wonderful! Plenty of places for people to sit and stayed shady most of the day with a good breeze. The middle level has the bunk room and queen bed with ocean views. There is a shared bathroom and also a door leading out to the patio with 2 chairs in between the two rooms. One chair is broken, though. There is also a small living space off of the queen bedroom which was perfect for the kids to stay in. There is another king bedroom with a bathroom in the hall on this level. A second large laundry room is located on the ground level. The steps at the end of the boardwalk as you step onto the sand needs to be fixed. There is a rather large drop which would make it rather difficult for anyone but especially older adults/ the elderly to get down. You can see where the other homes had to add extra stairs at some point going out to the sand but ours just had an extra steep drop off. You would have to grab hold of the handrails to hoist yourself back up. It is located next to a public beach access though. Overall pleased with our stay and would go back.

Great house, wonderful stay
We had 7 people stay in the house for a week. We had plenty of room, comfortable beds, plenty of hot water and great WiFi. When you add in the great view of the beach it was 5 stars. We felt like it was our house and we hated to leave. We will be repeat visitors in the very near future.

Very relaxing
The property was clean and large and there was plenty of room for all of our guests. The kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans/utensils and glasses. As a previous reviewer commented there is only 1 roll of TP provided for each bathroom and for a 5 day stay most people would agree that that is not enough. As well, there is no soap provided for the showers, so bring your own. For the amount of money I paid to stay I would think that this could be provided as these are relatively inexpensive items. Minor inconvienences for an otherwise perfect stay. Would definitely stay again!

Worst Property Management Company Ever!
I hate to give such a poor review to this home, but until the owners replace their property managers, this property will be a disaster.
First the good: This home is located right on the beach, has a private boardwalk over the dunes to the beach, has amazing views and a fantastic deck overlooking the ocean, has comfy beds and plenty of space. There ya have it!
The bad: I have rented approximately 50 vacation rentals in the past 20 years, and I have never had to buy my own toilet paper, dishwashing soap, paper towels, and hand soap, unless we used an abnormally high supply. Considering how much this rental costs, I'd think you could stock more than one roll of tp per bathroom. I don't mind washing towels, but one dish towel and one dish cloth total, and one bath towel per person seems a little bit ridiculous. The couch you have in the picture must have been on day one before all the wear and stains. My stomach churned sitting on it. Also, there was some foul smell coming from the basement (locked closets) when we arrived. I left a message with the property managers regarding such but never heard back from them. So the kids in the downstairs rooms had to live with that nasty smell the whole week. How is this anything close to a luxury property at this point? And finally, the property management company does not honor the pricing listed here on VRBO and will sneak in extra charges. Pay CLOSE attention to your contract. I have never been disappointed with homes I have found on VRBO, until this one. This is the worst review I have ever written.

Beach location perfect! Lay out of house with 4 BR 4 bath wonderful for family vacation!
The owners did a wonderful job of creating a very warm and inviting environment. We especially loved the covered porch where we began our days watching the sun rise over the water and ended each day listening to the waves crash on the beach and marveling at a sky lit up with stars!!
Another unique feature of this house is a sweet little reading nook complete with comfy couch and chair as well as an eclectic array of books. The rating did not give an option for the 4.5 I would give this delightful beach house. The only thing that kept me from a 5 rating was the slow response of the property management group relative to everything being in working order and clean.

Beautiful property! Amazing views
We loved our stay at Four Palms. We've stayed at many beach rental properties but this was by far the best. The views were spectacular and the beach went on forever. I liked the fact that the house was so clean when we arrived and the kitchen was well appointed. The beds were amazing! Everyone woke refreshed and ready to explore. We truly couldn't have asked for a more perfect vacation. We'll definitely be back next year.

Great beach home
Wonderful ocean front home in Crystal Beach. This was our first trip to this area. We usually stay in Destin, but needed to stay on the Atlantic this year so the family could join us. We were very pleasantly surprised at the clear water, and soft sand. The house itself was very nice. Everything worked well and was clean on arrival. The beds were nothing fantastic but comfortable. The porch looking out over the ocean was our favorite place to sit. The beach walk was a little longer than some places we have stayed, but not a bad walk, and we walked a lot on the beach. There is driving allowed on the beach but was not a problem at all, and nothing like the traffic at Daytona. The parking and location were great. There are several good restaurants nearby, grocery stores 5-10 minutes away, and St Augustine is a short drive away. For 5 adults and 1 child it was perfect. We would definitely stay again.

Almost Perfect!
This house is so wonderfully beachy.. Furnishings and decorated touches were spot on. Location is excellent..there is room to accommodate 10, however, there were ONLY 10 bath towels... I don't think anybody wants to stay inside doing laundry everyday . Part of our group flew in so bringing their own bath towels was not an option. The porches are great and if the Oceanside porch had ceiling fans it would have been perfect. the house is so bright and happy... The views are wonderful... We could watch sunrise and sunset from inside this adorable house... Definitely on our list to rent again! Maybe next year the towel problem will be resolved and this will earn five stars!

Four Palms Beach House a ****-and-Span Gem
This is such a fantastic, nearly perfect house that I'll put my two complaints -- one minor and one potentially major-- at the top. Minor: The sectional sofa is pretty darn deep and thus hard for us old folks to get in and out of. Potentially major: There are no handholds on either of the walk-in showers; I was happy that there was a choice of two walk-ins for my 94-y-o mother, but the lack of grab bars was scary for her and us. All went well, but I'm hoping the owners will fix this. It will be to their benefit. Oh, but the rest of the house? Fabulous. So new and shiny. Extremely comfortable beds. Most of us slept well all 7 nights. The house had the best-equipped vacation kitchen we've seen. And there was a gas grill. Beach access was easy. There was a beach umbrella (no beach chairs; bring your own). Be warned: There are a lot of steps, but the choppiness of the house is part of its charm, and there's plenty of privacy among the 4 BRs and 4 baths (and a little hdden sitting room). What else? Hmmmm. Washer and dryer on the top floor and in the basement, how about that? And there's the excellent South Beach Grill a block away. All of the TVs are great, but the big one in the LR even has DVR. We all agree that this will be a fine place to celebrate my mom's 95th birthday in April -- if that grab-bar thing can be dealt with. Thanks so much to the Kokomoors for making their house available!

Outstanding weekend!
This was the perfect home to relax and let the world pass us by. All new, comfortable beds, lots of room to stretch out perfect access to the beach. Really made my wife's 50th birthday very special. In a quite location but also not far from activities. Absolutely would stay again.

Wonderful family reunion
We were so pleased with the property and it's furnishings. We brought things we thought we would need, but it was provided. Loved the two washer-dryers so we were able to wash the towels in the laundry room, and our clothes in the upstairs washer. We thought the owners showed great care with their property.
