About this house rental
This prime beachfront home on the famous Banzai Pipeline is one of the deepest beaches in Hawaii, is privacy gated with 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, two story home with beachfront decks on two levels. Built in 1992 by owner, its clean, light colored tiles and carpet is still one of the better homes on the North Shore offered for rent. The home allows more privacy having the second story with its own family room and 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The first floor has the living room, kitchen 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
From November through March, the North Shore's winter waves attracts world class surfers from around the world. While spectacular, caution is advised. The beach in front of the house extends a long way beyond Sunset Beach, with a high concentration of the world's greatest surf spots and ocean. A life guard stand is in front of our neighbor's house, providing guidance for swimmers and surfers.
The nearby town of Haleiwa is most charming with innumerable art galleries, shave ice, shops and restaurants. In the other directions is the Turtle Bay Resort, with golf, tennis, restaurants and very nice beaches as well.
All 4 bedrooms are air conditioned by solar power. We also have a Jacuzzi hot tub in the yard. We do our best to maintain the property and provided the highest level of luxurious amenities possible. The beach in front goes forever, it seems - great for walking on the beach, as well as the beach view from the house. The other side of the house is a bike path going along the best beaches in the world.

Really enjoyed our stay

House is very spacious we are a family of 8
And had plenty of room. All 4 bedrooms have a/c. Absolutely loved the location easy to access bike/walking. Beach views were stunning! Property has 2 bikes and beach chairs to use. Gated driveway had plenty of room for 2 vehicles.

Nice little property for a beach break. It was the best I've slept in quite a while. The sound of the waves is amazing.

supreme location in heart of surf breaks.

We had a great stay, the home had everything we needed and was a great location on the north shore. Easy beach access and plenty of room for our family to stay comfortably. Would love to stay here again!

This is not a 5 star hotel but the house was perfect for our needs with space, bedrooms and bathrooms. We did not use the hot tub but it looked great. Enjoyed the front porch immensely. The kitchen was well equipped for our needs and the washer and dryer appeared fairly new. Smelled a little musty but opening the sliders and door took care of that with a wonderful breeze everyday. I would not hesitate to recommend this listing. Had a little trouble getting the owner to respond to our request on VRBO, 3 tries and finally a response.

Beautiful location, enjoyed the beaches. The house itself needs some basic attention. Nothing we couldn't live with, but just not up to par....a little inconvenient. In spite of a few things, we had a great time and appreciate using the property.

We had amazing two weeks in this house right on the beach in front of an incredible surf break!
Fabulous house for a family with the teens enjoying the upstairs deck & rooms, and lots of space downstairs. It was great to have the two bikes on hand & easy to get North Shore bike rentals to drop extras off!
Easy bike ride to Sharks cove, food trucks and Sunset beach so an amazing location, especially with Pipeline a short walk 5min away!
A few small tweaks would make it even better e.g., bbq elements replaced.
We had an epic time supporting our fellow New Zealander’s at the Haleiwa surf comp and loved watching the rock piles sandbar pump for the first time in the last five years!! Thanks so much.

Perfect location and we are repeat tenants to this property who truly enjoy all it has to offer from an amenity and location standpoint. Any issues that may come up are quickly responded to and addressed to make certain the stay is as comfortable as possible.

This house has an amazing location right on the beach with great views from the second floor but the house is far from advertised. I rarely would say this but calling this house luxury is flat out dishonest. First of all I would recommend you read all of the reviews. There is one from earlier this year that we ignored at our own peril. It referenced broken appliances, mold, termites. That is all true. If you doubt that it was true read the owners response. The owner did not deny any of it...they simply said they were luxury by north shore standards. When we arrived the combination lock was broken on front door (back door was unlocked to make up for it). The owner requested we not open large sliding door that faces the ocean as the screens might get damaged so this takes away from the idea of sitting inside enjoying ocean. You cannot use part of the kitchen counter as dust from what we assume is termites drops on the counter every day. There is mold in the house. The BBQ grill did not work. The owner did replace the stove earlier this year but instead of being counter depth it protrudes and blocks opening the dishwasher all the way so dishes are very difficult. Common things like steak knives were basically non existent. The bedrooms on the main floor had a very musty smell. I could go on but no need to just pile on. Overall if you are looking for beds and the beach this is the place. If you are looking for luxury this is not the place (even by north shore standards)

Excellent home for the family! The pictures don’t do it justice
Stellar host and home and way better than the pictures and description told of this story. Our family spring break was beyond perfect and much of it thanks to this amazing home and host and the beautiful and quiet location on the North shore near all our favorite surf breaks!

Beautiful location
It’s a really great location right on the beach. We listened and sat on the porch for hours watching the waves, the surfers and the whales. They have everything for you at the house- all the beach stuff, towels, extra blankets, well stocked kitchen, etc. we didn’t have to go out and get anything except groceries. Our kids loved the hot tub. The only thing about that beach this time of year (March) the waves are insane. So having the kids be able to just go out to the beach was a no go. They could barely but their feet in with out the lifeguard coming to Say it wasn’t safe and it wasn’t. I heard it’s not like that all year. That being said it didn’t matter to much to us. We went other locations for the beach. Enjoyed the waves, surfing and whale watching from the house. We would stay here again.

Great location, but needs a lot of work.
The location of this property couldn't be better on Oahu, right on the beach at the Banzai Pipeline with surfing action all day, whale watching, and beautiful sunsets.
However, the house needs considerable work and isn't at all "luxury" at this time. Some issues we found: peeling paint on window sills and walls; sliding windows that didn't work; light bulbs burned out (we replaced 4); what appeared to be black mold in 2 bathrooms; badly stained tubs and tile; hot tub so dirty you couldn't see the bottom (we drained and refilled it); stained/dirty interior doors and carpet; evidence of insects in a kitchen cabinet that deposited what looked like sand on the counter top every day, and someone had placed duct tape on the bottom of the cabinet, we assume to try to stop it; internet that worked only sporadically; and the glass cooktop was cracked so badly we were afraid to use one burner.
We also asked to make sure the grill had LP, but when we fired it up, it didn't work at all, and someone had apparently used it as a charcoal grill, which only made it worse.
As an aside, we were left to our own devices to get into the property: It was locked and no one met us to gain entry. We called the owner, who gave us combinations, but the gate lock was so difficult to operate that we struggled with it for quite some time.
I know it's not easy to maintain a shore home--we had one in Virginia--but honestly, we' d like to request a refund because the property fell so short of its "luxury" representation, and we'd not recommend it until the write-up indicates it has been thoroughly renovated.

Holidays 2021
Great location on the north shore with beautiful beach views of the surfers. Rainy Weather all week did not allow us to take advantage of the beach and outdoor activities in the area. But the house is geared to families who want direct access to a beautiful beach.

Welcome stay on the North Shore!
We really enjoyed staying here. The place was spacious and clean for the 5 of us. We loved the beachfront view and spent every morning drinking coffee on the porch watching the waves. The beautiful beach was just steps away, though not quite swimmable as it was rocky and with rough waves. Lots of surfers though!
I do wish communication with the owner was better. Responses often took a while or none at all. There were also several occasions we saw maintenance guys working in the yard . They were very friendly, but it would have been nice to have a heads-up from the owner as we were initially alarmed to see strangers on the property.
Overall, still a wonderful experience and would recommend the house.

Perfect for a Large Family
This house was the perfect home base for our family of seven to explore Oahu. We had our teenage daughter, our two adult sons, and their wives. The layout was ideal. The only problem was that my kids didn't want to do my site-seeing trips when we had such a great beach location.

North Shore slice of paradise
Our group of friends stayed at Rai's property just east of Haleiwa in early November 2021. We loved the 4-bed, 3-bath layout of the home. The kitchen and dining room areas were spacious and we loved cooking as a group in the house. The beach front is amazing; gorgeous sand for miles in each direction. The waves were too high for our group of adults to swim in front of the house, so we walked west to Shark's Cove to swim in the safety of the extremely large tidal pool. We saw lots of cool fish and a sea turtle! We also loved watching the surfers on the Banzai pipeline. The hot tub and outdoor shower were also a nice amenity of the rental home. We ran into a bit of trouble with the AC units on the lower floor not working, and unfortunately the problem wasn't able to be resolved during our stay. If you stay at this home, I'd recommend having a car. The only walkable food options are the grocery store and some very tasty food trucks. We attended the Toa Luau at the beautiful Waimea Valley Botanical Gardens and HIGHLY recommend it. An awesome show with tasty food! Overall, I'd totally stay in Rai's house again. We had a great experience on the North Shore!

Quiet and beautiful.
Morning coffee on the patio looking out at the panoramic ocean views were worth the price of admission. The house is very spacious and accommodating for a large family. Very clean and has all the amenities needed. Air conditioning was a positive.
Amazing location on North Shore.
Loved it! Would highly recommend this rental.
We will rent again!

Paradise
Just amazing place and location. Fit everyone’s needs and expectations. Even though there are rocks in water in front of place, perfect place for snorkeling and u don’t need to go anywhere to see turtles. They hang out right in front of house. There is swimming areas a little to the right and the left which was perfect. Safe location easy communication with owner couldn’t have asked for a better place. Garage is full of goodies for beach play and two bikes. My only complaint….wish we could have stayed longer!!!

family reunion
ideal property for our time together. Beach location is beautiful and quiet, close to excellent snorkeling location. Everyone had their own room and second floor family room provided space for a variety of activities to happen at the same time. Views from both upper level and main level are stunning.

Surfs up!
We had a great time watching the amazing surfers in front of us. The waves were unusually big for June so there was a lot of action. We had to go elsewhere to float because of the big waves but the surfing entertainment made up for it. The house was perfect and the owner was super nice and easy to reach. Having a hot tub and outdoor shower was nice. It’s shaded if you want to just sit outside and enjoy the beautiful view of the ocean. We rode bikes along the bike path north to Ted’s Bakery and south to Sharks cove. We saw dolphins, spinner dolphins, and turtles. It was a relaxing getaway.

Amazing location and spacious house
The eight of us thoroughly enjoyed this house. The beach is beautiful, the location is close to everything and the neighbors were great.

Beautiful view
It was a great experience. Mostly great weather rained at night and early morning. Loved the sound of the crashing waves. Well equipped house had everything you needed. The hot tub was not working as it needed a part that didn’t come while we were there. Owner was nice to work with felt very safe there. Had a locked gate. Would rent again if we were to stay on the north shore. Phyllis webster

This house was incredible. It had everything we needed, but the best part was the location. Absolutely would stay here again.

Absolutely Incredible
The stay was one of the best we have ever had. The sound of the waves. The sunsets. The beach. The house was perfect - enough room for teenagers and adults to have their own space and enjoy themselves. Boogie boards and snorkel gear for a quick trip to shark’s cove. The kitchen was nicely appointed and a grill for summertime cookouts. Comfortable beds, couches to relax on, outdoor furniture to have a morning cup of coffee or just sit and enjoy the perfect views. Rai was so accommodating and responsive. Overall, it was hands down the best experience we have ever had not just with a property - but a relaxing home away from home. We can’t wait to come back and I would recommend to my closest friends - regardless of age of kids or just adults. Forever will hold a place in our hearts.

Wonderful house.
Such a lovely house and a great location. The pictures don't do it justice, it's a fantastic place. We had the best time. The fact that there are two living rooms was great because we traveled with older teens who enjoyed not having to hang with their parents the entire time. The kitchen had everything that you can need. The barbecue was great. The jacuzzi is newer and amazing. We had an issue with the neighbors tiki torches leaking gas on day 1 and the housekeeper handled everything within an hour. Truly amazing. Bikes would be nice but we rented from the local shop as usual. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. WIsh we could have stayed longer.

Amazing
Great location. Beach is perfect. Convenient to teds bakery-food trucks-foodland. Close to Haleiwa. House is very large and the air conditioned rooms really do make a huge difference. Comfy chairs for outside seating. And having the xtra living room upstairs is great especially if you have kids or teens who like their own space. We spoiled the chickens so make sure to keep it going. Would 100% rent here again!
