The property was very clean and easy to find. We had a good time relaxing by the lake and fires in the evenings.

Our family of five adults had a great time hanging out at Ernie's Place because of the lawn, kayaks, and swimming steps from the house. the porch room was also very pleasant on a rainy evening of board games. Also enjoyed the ease of walking into quaint Oquossoc for something from the market, ice cream, and the sports' store.
The bedrooms are very small and, as others have stated, there is wear and age to this rental. If you want luxury then Ernie's is not your choice. If you just want to relax and have a modestly priced base for visiting Rangeley's attractions and sites then this is a good option.

Ernie's place is quirky in layout, a split level. It has beds for 6, 8 with a pull-out couch. We were only two there. Think eight people would find it full to the brim!
It was very clean, nicely decorated, comfortable beds. We didn't have meals there, but the kitchen was adequate.
The property is at the end of the lake, in a cove. There is a bridge nearby, though traffic is not heavy. There is also a marina, low boat traffic. There is just enough going on to provide some entertainment, liking watching a fellow across the cove working with his dog, training him to leap off a wharf in to the water to fetch a stick!

At first, we thought be so close to the marina would be noisy. Very respectful people on and around the lake!

Fourth time at Earnies and still very satisfied. I plan on returning next year. Thank you

The title best describes this older camp. Water views are available from two sides with a spacious lawn. The camp was clean and comfortable. Noise issues were none existent. A little more TLC to the cabin would have earned the top rating. Morton & Furbish handled questions and minor issues quickly and throughly in a personable and professional manner.

Cute place, right on the water. Would be great to have a table to eat at. The one that is there was being used to hold the internet modem because one of the leaves are broken. Very awkward to have 5 people eating with a very small bar area that really only seats 2 people comfortably.
Love that it is located right in town oqoussoc which made getting gas and groceries super easy.

Go in with the right expectations and you'll have a great stay.
Great location. Very much a camp... very small bedrooms but perfect for laid back casual time with family and/or friends. Having your own dock for a boat was key for us. Close proximity to River's Edge Sports, Oquossoc Grocery, Farmer's Daughter. Make sure you know what restaurants are open on which days (most are closed 2 days during the week). Would recommend to anyone looking for that casual waterfront camp experience.

Lovely setting,
The setting was beautiful. Boats all around , a nice lawn right on the water. Very pleasant p!ace to relax and unwind! One problem, we arrived on a monday! Nothing open on a monday! Thank god for the general store! Great food there by the way! BreakFast at the hotel was poor and it made us poor!!!! Don't waste your time there.go to the general store!!!!! Once wed. Came along several places opened up and we had enjoyable dinners! Denies was nice! A few things wrong Luke the shower molding was hanging and the shelf in the shower broke. The easy chair should be replaced, and some window cranks on the porch were broke.but I have small problems inmyownhouse. Over all it was comfy and nice. Would stay there again but not on a Monday or Tuesday in the fall

We enjoyed our vacation here. Lots of activity in the water with the boat launch on one side and a marina on the other. Good if you like to sit and watch the activity. Nice lawn with firepit on the waters edge. Calm waters in front of camp for kayaking and swimming as you are not right on the windy open lake. The dock is fine for smaller boats, but probably not sufficient for larger boats. Close neighbors, but ours were very pleasant. The cabin is very functional, but old and needs updating. 60's style throughout. Porch is nice as it overlooks the water, but could use some updating. Bedrooms with the queen beds are very small, probably not build for such large beds, but beds were comfy. Larger living room was comfy. Bathroom is large enough. Ceiling has water leak stains, but didn't leak. Think "camp" when staying here and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Within walking distance to all of Oquossoc.

We like everyone this summer were put into a situation where we weren't going to be traveling out of the state for our planned vacations so we decided to really change things up and try to find a camp that we could rent on the water for a long weekend. We found Ernie's Place through Morton & Furbish and we absolutely loved it! The house was cute, plenty of space for all of us, the lake access was perfect, we brought our kayaks and paddled around the quieter portion of the lake, our 3 yr old grandson loved seeing the duck families swim by several times a day. The house had everything we could have needed and more! So peaceful and serene, a perfect weekend spent with our kids and grandson making so many memories and lots of laughs. We hope to be back next summer.

great place for the price
I would like to make this a annual trip, but until they extend their dock and trim the white birch that hangs over the area, I will not rent again, Do what the camp next door has for a dock! Wifi and direct tv would be great.
