About this cottage rental
Our home is a cozy modern cottage on 8 acres on a bluff overlooking Lake Pepin. The house is mostly windows with incredible views of the sunrise, sunset, birds and the Milky Way. The house has one bedroom with a king-sized bed, and a queen-sized futon couch in the lower level. There is a full bath and kitchen as well as a wood-burning sauna. The house is ideal for a solo getaway or a couples retreat, but can accommodate four. We do not allow guns of any kind on the property.

The home was a perfect little hide away. The views stunning. The sauna a great treat. We had everything we needed for a weekend get away. The birds were so entertaining. Only a hot tub would have made it better but not missed. Thank you for sharing your slice a heaven.

We met our daughter from St Paul for a long weekend. There are great views of the Mississippi/ Lake as well as the hills of gorgeous green. Birds galore at the feeders. Located at the end of the neighborhood street but private and peaceful. Large lot. Comfortable beds and plenty of room for three.
Our biggest disappointment was the cleanliness, especially in the kitchen. Felt like the cleaning service did not show up before our stay and we had leftover grime and dirt from the previous guests.
Nearby Stockholm is small but very quaint, great pie and a wonderful bakery. Loved the Scandinavia shop. No nearby grocery.

You can’t beat the views and location. The home is very nice and well stocked. My wife and I enjoyed the sauna and had fun playing ping pong and darts. It’s in a great location with plenty to do. We’ll definitely be back.

We came for visit to relax, recharge and have fun. This cottage was beyond our expectations. On so many levels it was amazing; from the view, to the furnishings and comfort and the beauty of artistic pieces throughout the cottage. Plus I have never seen a Vrbo so so well stocked with supplies. The view above the treetops was the best. Thank you for sharing this special place.

Beautiful location. My fiancée and I were there alone and got scolded for having music by the fire. Were told it was a quiet neighborhood. No tv inside and no music aloud at night. Kitchen was overran by ants. Basement ping pong table was covered in dust when we tried to play. Great place if your only intention is to be quiet inside.

Next time I visit here I will stay longer! The view is amazing, the location is great for daytrips, and the house is cozy.

The views of the Mississippi River from the deck of this property are stunning. The property is very well furnished, quite beyond what was expected from the description (you pretty much need to bring nothing). We enjoyed the tranquility of the property very much and, if staying in the area, would rent here again.
Quick note: be aware there is another property being constructed next door as of September 2021. We did not find this intrusive, as the tree line blocks most of the noise and we did a lot of day trips anyway. However you should be aware that you may hear the occasionally beeping of a bulldozer backing up.

See first time review last year. Stay was even better basically because we were more familiar with the area, though COVID-19 prevented us from enjoying the local towns & shops.

Lovely getaway.
We had such a lovely getaway, we really needed a change of scenery this summer of quarantine and we picked a perfect spot! Peaceful, beautiful (inside and out) and comfortable.
The house is equipped with everything we needed, the property is so pretty and there is just so much nature to enjoy. Loved watching the hummingbirds at the feeders. I'd never seen (or heard!) them up close before. Their little tiny selves were such a contrast to the eagle family that was soaring above.
The bench down on the point was a perfect place to sit and watch Lake Pepin. As was the deck - which is where we spent most of our time. We were treated to the NEOWISE comet from the deck each night we were there, and after the comet was gone for the night, the stars!

Great getaway from the Twin Cities
Due to all the COVID-19 restrictions, we decided to go for a vacation closer to home. This was a perfect stay. The house is beautiful. We had breakfast on the deck every morning with a gorgeous view of the lake and enjoyed beautiful evenings at the front of the house. Our four year old daughter loved the tree swing at the back.
It was really hot (90 degree weather) during our stay and I was worried we wouldn't be able to hang outside much but other than the peak hours in the afternoon we were able to go for hikes etc and just chill at the house in the afternoon in the air conditioning. Being able to see the fireflies at night was such a treat! We also loved seeing deer, hummingbirds and other birds. The bird feeders are perfectly situated to be able to enjoy bird watching from a distance or inside the house.
We visited Frontenac state park and want hiking on the Barn bluff in Red Wing. The only disappointment was not being able to enjoy the beaches. The one closest in Bay City and the one at Florence Township in Frontenac had swarms of mayflies. It was probably juist breeding season but it was disappointing not being able to cool off on the lake.
One thing I also didn't realize before we arrived was that almost all restaurants were about 20-30 mins away so just an fyi if you're not planning to cook dinner.
Overall we had a wonderful time!

Perfect Anniversary Weekend
This property is magical. It’s location and views are amazing. It was everything we were looking for in a romantic weekend getaway; peaceful, relaxing, loved being surrounded by nature and wildlife. The house is exactly as it was advertised. We will definitely be going back again.

The property was beautiful! We felt safe and comfortable while enjoying privacy and the surrounding nature. Liz was also so responsive to all of our communications and provided a thorough binder of local information that made our visit to the area fun!

Fabulous escape from chaos!
We needed a break from all the chaos and sadness in our city after the killing of George Floyd. This place was so serene and healing for us!! What a beautiful deck perched in the tree tops overlooking Lake Pepin. There is lots of space inside. The kitchen is brimming with extras. The bed is super comfortable. Ping pong downstairs is a treat. Walking the land and up the road was wonderful. Bird feeders attracted multiple humming birds and song birds. TV not available and never missed. Only drawback was we could not stay longer!

Beautiful Property
This is an amazing property, so private and secluded.
We were celebrating my son’s birthday and just for us they opened up all the bars and restaurants (just kidding)
We loved sitting on the lovely deck overlooking the water. We’ve rented many places in this area and this definitely one of our faves

Beautiful views, owners were helpful.
Owners were great in giving us suggestions about area attractions. The house is comfortable and nicely decorated. The view is breathtaking. Beautiful area to go for a hike or walk. They don’t have a TV. I loved that.
Location is close to Red Wing. Make sure to look up the events at Sheldon theater. They offer music. Many lovely restaurants in Stockholm, and Pepin. Pepin also has a winery. Not to mention the creamery in Nelson. Many artisan stores in Stockholm. Last but not least Smiling pelican bakery is fantastic. So many things to do. Highly recommend it.

Fun and relaxing getaway
Great property and house was nice, clean, modern, and had everything we needed. Beautiful views of the woods, hills, and Lake Pepin. Leaves were just starting to turn, and were fortunate to see a lot of fun birds and wildlife. It was a great setting to relax and also to get a little work done. No surprises, everything was as expected. Would stay here again and would highly recommend.
