The scenic beauty.
The mattress was not appropriately put on bed, rather it was on a ply which was kept again on an old mattress. So it was not stable. There were cockroaches in the bathroom and room. The description mentioned board games but there were none. No toiletries except liquid hand wash and small neem soap. The barbeque was horrible. The almirahs were unstable, old and filled with old stuffs. So, no place to hang clothes in them.

Leela's Cottage was just right for the 2 of us, though it can accommodate upto 4-6 people. The view from the main bedroom, of a green forest with a little brook running through it, is mesmerising and captivating, esp in the monsoons! It's a gem of a cottage at the very base of a valley and we got ample privacy as the caretaker's family stays in an outhouse and as the only other neighbouring cottage was empty. The house has been lovingly furnished and has a charming lived-in feel to it, as opposed to many other blandly furnished villas in Lonavala. Most of the furniture is in the classical style and quite elegant. Both the drawing room and a sit-out area outside it enjoy a lovely garden view and are ideal for small get-togethers. The garden is also quite nice and enhances the appeal of the cottage. The caretaker Kadam and his wife Varsha (who is the chef), pampered us with awesome traditional food (both veg & non-veg) and whatever little help we required around the area. The snacks and meals had the flavours just right and the pricing as well as the quantity was quite reasonable. Kadam and his family being there nearby was reassuring and of help, esp if one doesn't have a car with oneself. The food is prepared in the outhouse and served in the cottage. The kitchen is equipped only with a functional microwave, refrigerator and water filter. It has some storage cabinets with crockery and utensils. The cottage is located in a peaceful, green neighbourhood with a laid-back, old-world charm. Lonavala lake is just a 10-15 min walk away and a must-visit for its idyllic scenery. There are quite a few ancient-looking estates around which makes walking around quite interesting. The highway is just a 5-10 min drive away, which makes it easy to enter and exit Lonavala without having to navigate the congested traffic of the Lonavala main market.

-It’s dreamy location in the midst of amazing greenery.
-it’s well-maintained, pretty garden
-It’s charming furniture which gives it a homely feel.
(I do hope the house and it’s surroundings remain unchanged as far as possible:)
-The very hospitable caretakers Kadam and Varsha. Varsha is an expert at cooking the maharashtrian and other dishes given in the menu.
-The owner is also very helpful and prompt in responding to queries.
The bathrooms are just adequate. A little more investment in its beautification would elevate the house to a different level.

Nice peaceful cottage with a well laid out patio and lawn with forest view, lots of greenery. same view from 1 bed room as well. Simple and comfortable living room n indoors. Some books/ boardgames will add when staying in monsoons.
There is a good place to walk around in the lanes near cottage. Clean rooms n bathroom..Food was well made and homely.
Beds can be a bit more cushioned. There is steep set of steps to reach the cottage and for bedrooms. Will be good if known in advance, in case you have elderly wirh you. Bathrooms can be improved.

the place was pleasant enough to have a trip for a day or so, the plantation and the weather was too good..
overall cleanliness was good well maintained
Food i would recommend to have it from outside as i did not enjoy the food as such as wanted to try seeing the comments as our quantity was less of the food but was too salty but had to eat since hungry 😁rest mr kadam and his wife were helpful
no such bad comments but yes aged people I would not recommend at all as the stairs reaching the bungalow are steep also the rooms to stay inside the bunglow are on the first floor so for youngsters yes we can manage but not for aged people
