We had a great time at this house. I was SO lost when I arrived - had started the day in Zion, visited Bryce, and then came here. Somehow I had put the wrong address into Google and was ready to panic. I called Lacie and she generously guided me to the right place. And she was so patient about it! Thank you Lacie!
As for the house. It was clean, comfortable and easy to relax in. I have a handicapped husband (uses a walker) and after I picked up the throw rugs, he could maneuver easily. No steps on the property. The laundry was fully stocked. There was ice cream in the freezer (yay!).
The drive was gravel. Note that if someone in your party has mobility issues, most driveways and parking lots in Torrey are gravel. There are toys for children in the house as well as a highchair, but no actual grass type yard. View out of the back is stunning.
Again, I thank Lacie for her graciouness. If I were to come back to Torrey, I would stay here again.

This home was very clean, and beds were comfortable. Beautiful view off the back deck. The Chuck Wagon has great food. We ate breakfast there both days and had sandwiches made to take with us. We would stay here again.

Good base for Capitol Reef
The house was new and clean. The drawers in the master bedroom nightstands and dresser were very difficult to open and close. Master closet had a lot of containers in it, not a lot of space to move around. Very nice patio in backyard. The stargazing was great in this small town.

Excellent place to stay for your Capitol Reef trip
This property is really lovely for a place to stay in Torrey, especially if you have kids-- it worked perfectly for us. Just a really smart layout for families, and the owner clearly anticipated the needs of a young family; there are kid-friendly dishes in the cupboard, a few toys around, etc. It was every bit as nice as advertised. The patio could use a little work but I get the impression that's forthcoming, and honestly, the views are so overwhelming you'll hardly care.
My only other notes would be that, one, communication was a little lacking-- I had to reach out specifically to get check-in instructions, and had to reach out again for guidance on what the owner wanted for checking out. That said, the owner was polite, friendly, and responsive, just not as "on top of it" as you might expect in a rental situation like this. I think that could probably be cleared up just by automating information a little better-- posting check-out instructions inside somewhere, sending out check-in info automatically, etc. The other thing is about the neighborhood, which was totally fine by us (it's certainly plenty safe, etc.), but is sort of... just odd, overall. Torrey seems, on the whole, to be very much in transition, I guess? Within site of the property are both really upscale, large, well-maintained homes, and what are almost literally lean-tos and shabbily maintained semi-permanent homes parked on properties. This was all fine by us-- it's all very safe-- and if you're going to visit Torrey (which you should! Capitol Reef is *awesome*) it's going to be about the same everywhere. So we don't hold it against this rental whatsoever, it's just worth knowing in advance.
Overall, minor notes aside, this is an excellent choice for your Capitol Reef trip. A lovely place to decamp after spending time in the most criminally underappreciated natural park in the west.

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!
We have stayed at many VRBO properties and this was, hands-down, the best one. The property was clean and the decor was nice. Furniture was comfortable. Location was great. And, this was the most well-stocked house we've ever been in...it was like being at home! Highly, highly recommend for your next trip to the Torrey area!

Very clean, well stocked, nice porch views, and near Capitol Reef National Park. We'd stay again!
Our family loved our stay at this new house in Torrey. Everything was very clean. It was well stocked (towels, dishes, cookware, kitchen appliances, etc.). The furniture and decorations were all quite new. We loved having our morning coffee on the front and back porches - very nice views. The location was great too - very close to Capitol Reef National Park. Our family would definitely stay here again!

Very well laid out house with my children able to stay on one wing while my wife and I had the quiet of the other wing of the house. It provided an easy commute into Capitol Reef, and reaffirms that vacation rentals are the only way to go.

Modern Home in Torrey
We really liked this house--as much fun as it is staying in a log cabin, I was really happy to find a newly-built house with modern amenities and design aesthetic when we walked through the door. Big, front-loading laundry machines, concrete floors, wifi fast enough to stream HD video service. The place was super clean, and the freezer full of Otter Pops was a nice touch.
Apparently the house also comes with a stray cat who thinks she lives inside, so that was exciting.

Charming and comfortable home base for Capitol Reef NP
Although this is not a large house, it is very comfortable for up to 6 adults. (We had 4 people staying there.) Torrey is a really tiny town in the middle of nowhere -- we did our grocery shopping in Loa, about a 20-minute drive away. Despite its isolated location, the house has everything you need to cook a good meal, sleep comfortably, speedy Wi-Fi, cable TV, and the best stargazing of our entire southern Utah vacation. Capitol Reef National Park was a treasure, with excellent hiking and the lovely, green Fruita historic settlement nestled in the middle. We would highly recommend the Desert Rose house and visiting Capitol Reef National Park.

Very comfortable and well appointed house!
The house was clean, comfortable, well appointed in a beautiful setting. We did have problems getting into the house with the lock pad and front door locks, since both locks were on the lock setting, and the lock pad operates only the deadbolt.
We would have appreciated receiving written directions on how to deal with recycling of glass and aluminum, which we ultimately threw away as trash, and may be contrary to local recycling laws and also goes against my better instincts!
But other than the initial setback on how to enter the house, we enjoyed the stay!

Everything in the house (and the house included) is new. The kitchen is well equipped and even includes enough to cook a last minute emergency meal. Internet works without a hitch! Would recommend for a family of 4-6. Appropriate for small children.
