Comfortable relaxing home but lacking some basic items

The house is in a great location on Thesen Island. It was very quiet and had a lovely outdoor sitting area backing onto the waterway.

No air conditioning in the bedroom. The Wi-Fi didn’t work when we first arrived and it took a few days and persistence on my part to get it sorted. There was a lack of cleaning products in the property eg to wipe down surfaces, only one bin bag was provided for a week’s stay and there were minimal basic household/kitchen/bathroom provisions. I have stayed in many properties throughout SA and 3 on this trip - the other 2 (same price) all came with an excess of the above and a welcome bottle of wine.

Being in a gated community where you need to use your fingerprints to get in and out is rather strange

The best holiday destination

Our host Tracy, she is the best, very friendly too. The house is exceptional and its close to all amenities, food, activities, malls etc...The house is exceptional. There is also backup whenever there's loadshedding.

Lovely location and property but load shedding a pain.

Very nice, safe and convenient location. The agent Tracy was very helpful and would sort out any queries we had quickly and efficiently. The best place we have stayed in Knysna. The load shedding is a real problem and very frustrating at times but not the fault of the house or agent.

one dishwasher tablet and loadshedding with no candles or back up. R10 000 for three days. went to sleep in the dark,

the property was lovely.

the check in was appalling. we needed to sen copies if iD’s and car registrations in advance. when we arrived at the Seef offices they were not aware of our booking and had to search for our records. then we had to do biometrics to get access to the venue. the biometric access was cancelled early on check out day which precluded us from coming or going even though we were still in the accommodation.

The stay was pleasant, except for the long hour of loadshedding.

The DSTV was not functioning. Loadshedding was a nightmare and with only one emergency light that only lasted for about an hour did not really help. You may want to invest in an inverter for supplement electricity during loadshedding

The location is super amazing, the house is beautiful with modern furniture. If you want hapiness, then this is the best place to visit.

The host is not a good communicator, she lacks soft skills and it would be ideal if she can improve in that area. Upon arrival, Tracy was late and I had to call her more than once as it was an inconvenience to the Uber driver. There was an issue with the biometrics and had to do the admin of sending Id's again which was time consuming.

We loved our stay at Avocet Nest.

Absolutely stunning home right on the water. A kayak to use was a nice touch. The home had everything we needed and more.

Satisfied but overall will think twice before re-booking.

The facilities were only met a day and 1/2 later as we did not have any internet connection/tv connection or any microwave. Outside patio downlights were blown and I was asked to use the emergency light for outside use until it was replaced the next day. I just feel everything should have been checked before our arrival and not sorted out afterward.

Spacious, very clean, all the amenities required including gas BBQ and wood for braai, great location and quiet. Excellent 24 hr security. Strongly recommend for a family holiday

Amazing.

We had a very relaxing stay, very spacious. Sitting on the terrace in the afternoon and evenings looking over the canal was amazing, having a whole house to ourselves was fantastic.

Nothing bad to say really, maybe just the fact that there is no air conditioning in the the house, we had to sleep with the doors open at night on the hotter days which attracted a lot of mosquitoes. Not a deal breaker though.

Enjoyed every moment

Tracy, a big thank you for being an awesome hostess! The home was beautiful, neat and clean. We had a spectacular view, enough wood for the fireplace and spotless linen and cutlery. Booking our holiday here turned out to be a real asset for us. We can recommend it without hesitation. The service was excellent

Location, the house general amenities as advertised and lovely, great place overall, the braai, the view, the balcony, the atmosphere and safety of Thesen Island.

Kitchen was not clean, the stove was dirty, the kitchen pots and pans were in bad shape (I purchased two non stick frying pans because the ones supplied were not usable), bought a mop because the floors were not clean, no coffee perculator only plunger, also no one told us about the worlds largest wood caché in the back yard so I was constantly buying wood until I found it.

Incorrect location indicated on map

The location on the map view is incorrect, we booked this unit specifically to be close to friends on Plantation road and we ended up being at the opposite end of the estate (at the main entrance gate)

The place is beautiful & has all that you need

The place is beautiful, however, The bed linen & towel were dirty, some of toilets were stinking of urine, shower drainage very bad, no toilet brushes in some of the toilets. Cleanliness in general was not one of the best.
