Absolutely beautiful hotel with lovely, clean, comfortable rooms. Mine had a small balcony overlooking the ocean. The shower was great and the restaurant was fabulous. Right opposite the beach. It was so good, I stayed for an extra night!
The only slight downside was that there was quite a lot of noise from traffic on the road.

Great location across the road from the beach and right on the bike track to ars-en-ré.
A couple of utterly charming and capable young people working here who could easily turn it around.
There’s a level of carelessness and thoughtlessness that is verging in negligence. Failing to warn someone that the floor drops away 2 feet as soon as they open the door to their room ( I fell and injured my knee, elbow, head, neck…🙄) is utterly negligent.
If you didn’t drive to the island then make sure you ask for ‘special permission’ to have a bike out after 6pm or you will be up for anything from a 1-3hrs walk for dinner. Especially if it’s a Monday and the hotel’s restaurant is closed.
Oh and if you’re told at check in that the coffee/tea is complimentary and you may use it at your leisure in actuality you will be charged and it is not available at your leisure as it is often closed or you must ask permission or order from the bar.
They also overcharged me tax. Charged me for two people even though they were well aware I was one. Small amount but it’s the principle of the thing based on the rest of my stay. They did, finally, get back to me to ask for my bank details to refund my couple of euros… 🙄 oh and they do not provide drinking water. And no fridge in the room

Excellent location for beach. First class breakfast every day. Lovely outside seating & dining area.
To cycle is the only reliable means of transport. Bus service, which changed the day after our arrival, is variable to say the least. No taxis. Pedestrians need beware of the continuous peleton of riders aged 9 to 90.

Location. Comfortable well equipped room. Staff were really accommodating, polite and helpful. Dinner was exceptional. Breakfast service. Bike hire. Maps & guides. Restaurant recommendations.

situated right opposite the beach. we asked for a sea view and were able to enjoy sunset and sunrise over the sea.

The hotel was lovely and clean, rooms well equipped, staff super friendly and the food was really really good.
Nothing really!!

The breakfast contains a range of pastries, cake and bread as well as cold crêpes with à sélection of jams & honey etc. In addition there were cereal, fruits, yoghurt, cheese & ham.
No provision for any other dietary requirements and the lunch & evening menus seemed to remain unchanged

friendly and welcoming staff and team. very informative, attentive and helpful. big rooms, bath and great air conditioning (quiet and cooling). very nice breakfast too.
may need a warning about the step down into the room. otherwise, no complaints at all

Great room, super comfy bed. Hotel was perfectly located for our needs. Bicycle hire was also great. Owners were very nice and helpful
First night was so hot the aircon didn't work well but soon settled and worked well the rest of the stay

The hotel was an oasis just outside of Ars, and across from the beach and walking trails. A wonderful location and respite after a day of traveling and / or making our way around the area. The food was delicious, and the staff and proprietors so kind and welcoming. Ask about the oyster Cabane nearby and make a reservation.

Sea breezes greeted us along with gracious hosts Laurent and Marie's warm welcome. We planned to only stay one night but couldn't resist extending our stay. Very relaxing. Great restaurant serving fresh sea food and produce from the island including good wine. Free parking. Laurent gave us good advice on local sights including the light house (Phare des Baleines) at the tip of the island. In high season it is probably crowded with French vacationers riding bicycles all over the place--there are bicycle paths everywhere. We really enjoyed the peacefulness of the shoulder season--most places were open but not a lot of crowds. Hotel Martray on the narrow strip of land separating the east island from the west island was ideal.

Although a small hotel the rooms were spotless and well thought out - we had a lovely sea view from our room -
The in house restaurant is amazing and the food of a very high standard.
Breakfast was delicious too with a huge choice in their Continental style breakfast which is extra to the room but so worth it -
The owners were very friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble - we would have loved to have stayed longer but were en route to the South of France - a lovely place to break the journey -
There were bicycles to hire and good cycle tracks for exploring the island at a quieter pace -
The local island white wine was delicious with a definite sense of the sea in the flavour - the sea food absolutely delicious - we shared the sea food platter ! Wow!
Ile de Re was fascinating with plenty to interest you - the Napolean fort quite spectacular - the white washed houses - stunning beaches and salt - we would definitely go again -
Nothing -

Perfect location opposite a beach lots of walking. Spotlessly clean friendly good quality restaurant with trainee chefs doing their utmost to please you
There was no room to Lounge in the evening although the owners did their best and opened another room for us to sit in

The hotel has free onsite parking and the beach is just across the road. Cycle paths pass by the hotel to the nearby towns. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was spotless. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice and the restaurant serves an excellent evening meal. You can even hire bikes from reception.
Nothing to dislike

Very good little hotel in front of an empty beach. Perfect if you have a small pet that comes with you so you can walk them right in the beach. It is also very close to the town Ars en Ré which is very cute and close to beaches that accept dogs :)
The bed gave me a bit of body pain but I have a lot of back issues, so I'm a bit more fragil that an average person.

My French is limited, but the staff were very accomodating. One young man Sacha spoke English perfectly and was very helpful.
The menu was varied and the food very good.
The small beach is just across the road from the parking lot and is very quiet.
Bike rentals are a must since the island is extremely well laid out with bike paths. Lots of interesting villages to explore.
Occasionally the parking lot is full.

Convenient location, stones throw from beach , bikes available to hire, lovely restaurant,
Breakfast plentiful with wide choice available
No warning of steps down into room, nearly fell head over heals as I opened the door.
WiFi was difficult to connect to but not really an issue

The rooms are well decorated and furnished, with comfortable beds. The weather was chilly and the heating worked well as did the hot shower.
Breakfast was a disappointment and not cheap at 13 euros. We arrived at just after 9am to find the fridge poorly stocked with the usual French buffet breakfast items and the coffee stewing on a hot plate. The receptionist was doubling as waiting staff and items were not being restocked.
4.0
the location is superb: facing the sea and with the natural landscape beauty just behind it;
excellent breakfast;
excellent restaurant (quality of the meals!)
little space to relax apart from the restaurant
